As Jack goes to call Jill with an update, Vikki updates Nick; confiding that she has no say in Billy’s care, It’s obvious that some think she should have taken Billy back – while Dad’s pushing her to shut him out of her life. Not surprised, Nick gives his weepy sister a hug.

Phyllis knows Victor’s only interested in this project because Jack might be. Victor’s there for his daughter but doesn’t mind seeing Phyllis’ ‘wretched husband’ squirm. Go to hell, Phyllis snarls. Feeling’s mutual, Victor replies.

Mariah was joking when she said she just wants to be loved – she doesn’t want to rely on anyone for anything – she just wants to get rich off Kevin’s project. Victor joins them to ask what he’s working on with Billy Boy. Kevin can’t disclose details. It’s big, Mariah says. Kevin’s got ‘the next big thing’. It’s just an idea – and might stay that way (if Billy dies) Kevin and Mariah look worried at the thought of losing out on this opportunity.

Sage finds it odd that Dr Anderson’s so involved in her patient’s life. You and Sharon are mirror opposites, Dr A claims – maybe that’s why my friendship with Sharon bothers you. Sage isn’t bothered, it just seems like a conflict of interest. After Sharon takes Sully upstairs for a changing, Dr Anderson wonders why Sage is ‘forcing things’, interacting with another woman’s child – even the baby can sense it.

Abby unburdens herself to Paul – she thought about having little babies in designer clothes – but now she has an 8 year old son named Max. Paul knows blended families can be complicated. Yeah, Abby IS blended. It’s tough to be a stepparent, Paul continues. Give Max some time – he’ll accept you. Work together – take it slowly. Max isn’t the only one who’s scared, Abby concludes.

In an interrogation room, Ben tells Max that he was always loved – trouble between me and your Mom kept us apart. We never stopped loving you. I’m going to take care of you. Max doesn’t want to live with HER. She won’t be my Mother. No one will take your Mom’s place, Ben reassures – she just wants to help give you a good home. Abby’s not to blame. I’m scared, Max clings to his Dad.

Life throws something at you and your whole world turns upside down, Dylan opines. Abby agrees – her world doesn’t feel anything like it did an hour ago. Uh – I was talking about Max, Dylan clarifies. Right, Abby wonders if he’ll think of her as an evil stepmother. Not forever, but he’s just lost his Mom – give him time. Be patient, Paul agrees. When Ben leads Max out, Paul reminds quietly; ‘slow and patient’ (as Abby follows them out)

Sage wasn’t upsetting Sully – she’s doing much better. She and Nick are doing well and not constantly thinking about Christian. Dr Anderson wouldn’t want her to take on too much too soon. That’s why Dr A recommended Nick not move back in with Sage. My relationship is none of your business – you’re not my friend, not my therapist! Stay out of it! Dr A didn’t mean to overstep. After she leaves, Sharon thinks Dr A’s just looking out for her. Sage thinks there’s more to it.

Reporting that he and Sage are reconnecting, Nick leaves Vikki to tell Phyllis and Jack that she’ll be there for Billy. Jack will give Billy the money he needs for his project. Phyllis thinks he should do it while he’s in surgery – so he can tell Billy when he wakes up.

What Kevin’s working on will revolutionize online security. Victor would be interested in investing. Let me know when you’re ready. How did he find out about this? Kevina and Mariah are left to wonder if Victor’s bugging them. Yes, he’s a tyrant, but he’s a tyrant who could make this a reality. Are you saying what I think you are? Kevin asks.

At the club, Abby lists all the reasons Max will love it here – you’ll have your own room! Max wants to spend a few days at the hotel with me if that’s ok, Ben says. Yeah, that’s fine, Abby runs off in tears. Ben follows.

At GCM, Dr Anderson tells Nick about an alarming incident at Sharon’s – Sage insisted on holding Sharon’s baby then found herself ‘in over her head’. Your wife is not the same. Don’t willfully ignore her mental state – it’s dangerous. You think she could be a danger to the baby? Nick asks.

Paul’s having the dump checked for discarded tires. He’s done a drawing of the parking garage. Here’s where Billy was. Dylan thinks it would be easier to back into that spot. Maybe Billy was already on the ground and the driver doesn’t know (it may have nothing to do with the gambling debt) That changes everything, Paul’s mind is blown.

Sharon needs me, Mariah gets a text and leaves CL’s. Jack arrives to speak to Kevin – he wants to invest on Billy’s behalf. I need to do this for my brother.

Phyllis updates that Jack’s investing in Billy’s deal. He’ll like that, Vikki says. Both jump up when the doctor comes out to say there’s been a complication.
