And don’t punch a wall thinking you’re going to the infirmary.
Phyllis rephrases – let Luca THINK he’s winning. If the parents hate the boyfriend, he just becomes sexier. Luca wants credibility and power. Let’s embrace him – invite him to family events. Let him realize he can’t have the power unless he passes us the mashed potatoes every Sunday night. He’ll run if he thinks we own him. Wow, Nick’s onboard – you’re good. They again clink glasses.
Back at the office, Luca tells Vikki that Travis worked on Wallstreet as a 1%er; a commodities trader. His specialty? Oil. The same stuff that leaked from NE’s oil rig into the ocean. Suspicious timing don’t you think? Vikki looks worried as Luca concludes that Travis tried to ruin her and NE.
Next: Billy and Bethany have just finished a swim at the rooftop deck. Well, you two look like you’re having fun, Phyllis (with Jack) cheerily remarks. Beats falling off a motorcycle doesn’t it? Bethany jokes … Hilary – I think I can tell you whatever I want. You can accept it or face the consequences … Ashley’s furious with Neville – This entire thing could implode and you knew all along and didn’t tell me?! Start talking! I want to hear everything!
My Thoughts: I guess Nick means well – but who is he to say that Vikki shouldn’t be at Hank’s? More than a bit hypocritical considering HIS next stop is the GCAC bar for a drink (at least Vikki wasn’t drinking) That said, he’s right – if it’s between 9 and 5, Vikki should probably be at work, or here’s an idea – with the children she claims mean so much to her … It was unbelievable that Travis didn’t recognize Vikki, but AFTER learning she was a wealthy Newman are we to believe he didn’t Google and come across Nick’s photo? If he read about the foundation she donated 5 million to, he might also recognize co-founder Neil and Vikki’s Mom. I guess he didn’t own the bar when 99% of the Newmans and Abbotts got into a brawl and were arrested? At least Denise immediately recognized Victor’s face (hard not to considering how often he’s been in the news) … Though Victor’s obviously abusing his visits to the infirmary, I doubt the warden can really take away his infirmary ‘privileges’? If anything, he should just make sure a guard is present (which you’d think would be standard policy when a female doctor’s treating maximum security felons) .. Thankfully we weren’t forced to watch Victor and Meredith’s ‘love scene’. I don’t want to imagine how that would look like under fluorescent lighting and on that ridiculously small bed (which barely had it’s sheets rumpled and no dent in the pillow) ….Daniel who? Summer was shipped off to Georgia so quickly that she didn’t have time to call Luca? Like when she was home to pack? It’s not like Luca’s tied to the office 9-5. Other than trying to worm his way in, he has no duties to speak of; not even when he and Marisa had an office. If Luca’s so hell bent on employment at NE, why not start him off in the mailroom? (it seems everyone now starts off in an executive position)
