On the stand, Ian says that he and Adam were associates – but they ended on bad terms. No, there’s nothing in this for him. Meredith watches as Ian says that Victor bragged that he’d put Adam in a cell next to his. Victor hates me, Ian admits but hates his family even more. He said it was easy to nail Adam’s hide to the courthouse door. Beyond a shadow of a doubt, Victor framed the defendant. As God is my witness, Ian swears. Summer runs out. Victor denies bragging about setting up his son. Didn’t you tell Dr Gates that you had evidence to prove that Adam was guilty? She recanted, Mike objects. Dr Gates was mistaken – I never said such a thing, Victor says. Why would she lie? Chris wonders. She’s developed feelings for me and wanted to help, Victor explains. Yes, he’d lie for Adam if he could, but there’s a lot of evidence against him.
Finding no helpful janitor in the hallway, Ian wrestles the guard’s gun off him and knocks him out. Nikki watches in horror.
Victor believes Adam is being set up – by Ian. That’s the only explanation. My son is not a murderer. Mike has nothing further. Walking out, Victor looks at Meredith. Stepping into the hallway, he sees Ian’s holding Nikki hostage and pushes the guard out of the way as shots are fired. As Victor hits the carpet, Nikki’s hauled out by Ian (screaming ‘Victor! Victor!)’ As all rush out to tend to Victor, Dylan calls for an ambulance.
