In the lab, Cane can’t hide that he’s pleased that he won’t have to jockey for position anymore – he’s not sorry Billy’s screwed up. Vikki doesn’t need him personally or professionally, he tells Lily.

In the conference room, Vikki claims she was just being cautious. She knows she slowed things down. You slammed on the brakes, I didn’t think you wanted me (because that’s what Billy was told) Maybe you want me but not that much. Billy couldn’t continue this way.

Still in Ravi’s office, Phyllis confides all to Lauren. Billy didn’t tell Vikki so now I’m the bitch caught making out with someone else’s man in the elevator. Lauren’s supportive – and wonders how Jack will react. We’re civil, Phyllis isn’t too worried. Lauren’s not so sure – that could be wishful thinking.

Gloria’s sorry to vent at Jack – who knew he could be such a good listener? Jack speaks highly of Kevin. He doesn’t blame you for the past. Bella will grow up surrounded by love and support (without the Mother who abandoned them all)

At the club’s bar, Ashley flashes back to arguing with her Mother about her Father being Brent Davis, that drunken slob. I was born out of that dirty affair – a betrayal to me, John and his children. Do you have any idea what you’ve taken from me?!

The plane on the tarmac in Paris, Dina Mergeron boards to hope this meeting is worth her time.

Drink? Fresh juice? Grant knows what I like, Dina releases the hand of her man-servant. Neil knows Dina’s family well, we have mutual friends, he’s held top positions at Jabot and NE. Dina has other offers to look at – why should THEY get the prize?

Ashley continues to flash back – there’s not one thing about me that’s real or honest, Ashley sobs at her Mother. Victor appears – you seem lost in your thoughts.

Vikki won’t beg Billy – if you have someplace to be, go. When Billy marches out, Lily tells him she’s sorry and leaves him to call Cane smug (which he is)

Phyllis tells Lauren that Billy might only be with her because Vikki turned him down. She’s not sure she and Billy can do ‘normal’ – what if he misses the excitement of the affair? Lauren thinks Phyllis’ deserves the best – don’t accept anything less.

Now seated in the dining room with Victor, Ashley and Victor talk about Abby. She’s hard working and determined, like you, Victor gushes. When Ashley expresses how much she loves her daughter, Victor somehow guesses that she’s been thinking of Dina Mergeron.

Jack and Gloria now discuss Dina abandoning them. John didn’t talk about her much. She’s a cold, selfish woman, Gloria’s sorry for Jack and his sisters. You shouldn’t have to read about her company being for sale online. Jack doesn’t care – John cared enough for two parents. His Mother only cared about herself.

Neil makes his pitch – our focus is on creativity and innovation, on the future. Mergeron’s not ‘old’; it’s cutting edge, always maneuvering. It’d be a huge asset, Devon chimes in. Dina knows this would be their first acquisition. Now, if you’ll excuse me. Neil stands to assure Dina that no one else can build her legacy like Hamilton Winters will. Dina makes another attempt to leave when Devon stops her.
