Nick caresses Sharon’s back as he zips up her dress. He’s reminded of them being crowned King and Queen of the Polynesian dance and thinks Sharon even more gorgeous now. We need to be careful tonight, in front of all the watchful eyes.

Filling in for Jack tonight at the New Hope dinner, Billy wants Phyllis to join him (Victor won’t be going) He won’t let his family down. Your new best friends will be there; Sharon and Nikki, he adds. OK, Phyllis will go – and make the most of the evening.

What happened to your face? Neil asks. Jack ran his car into a tree (no one was hurt) Neil’s glad Jack called him – we’ll get through this together.

Oooow! Jack winces in pain as Neil cleans the cut on his face. Picking up the pills, Neil sees no point in throwing them out – you can just get more. Pills aren’t the answer – you called me to remind you of everything you have to lose. Jack’s already lost the most important thing; who he is – there’s no fixing that.

In the clubs’ restaurant, Nikki thanks Hilary for having Nick on her show. Hilary hopes the reward money jogs someone’s memory. Wanting to put the whole debacle behind her, Nikki goes to greet some donors; then Sharon and Nick; quickly taking her son aside to point out the ‘stunning’ Jane; an heiress he should charm a donation out of. And she’s single – Nikki takes Nick over and all but serves him up on a platter as Sharon pouts at the bar. The man Jane arrived with, Laurence, comes over to chat with her but Sharon’s fixated on Nikki, Nick and Jane laughing across the room.

Jack was so proud to be John Abbott JR; worked so hard to protect and grow his legacy. It was my anchor – now I’ve lost my identity. Everything I believed is destroyed. Neil disagrees – You’re still Jack Abbott; the man who dragged me out of a dirty motel room and kept me alive. We then created a foundation dedicated to helping addicts and alcoholics in recovery. THAT is who you are.

Sharon’s seated beside Laurence, and watching Nick and Jane chatting across the table. Beside them, Devon and Hilary quietly talk about their baby. On Sharon’s right, Phyllis tells Laurence that Sharon is very single and a ‘hedge fund groupie’ and quietly tells Sharon she should run off with Laurence. Nikki, Phyllis and Sharon then excuse themselves to have a powwow by the revolving door. After what Vikki told Paul, Phyllis sees even more reason they need to be careful and watch what they say.

Nick and Sharon are gazing across the table into each other’s eyes when Laurence casually drapes his arm on the back of Sharon’s chair. Nick stands and thanking everyone, announces he has to leave. Do you really have to go so soon? Jane paws at his arm. When Sharon insists on leaving too, Nikki’s left to look disappointed for two seconds then also thanks everyone (who then split off into smaller groups) Phyllis is thrilled to hear Hilary’s update. Billy’s surprised when Nikki tells him that Jack called her. He then joins Phyllis as the bar; both worry how Jack will react when he finds out Billy’s replaced him as CEO.

Neil isn’t Devon’s biological Father, but he’s still my son. That’s different, Jack snaps – and no, he doesn’t care who edited the film. I have no foundation now. If these pills won’t fix it, what will? OK, then share the pills, Neil vows that if Jack’s going down this road, he’s going with him.
