Jack doesn’t take kindly to Billy and Phyllis scolding and analyzing him (and likes it even less that Billy’s not stepping down) Phyllis then rubs it in that the blood-only clause was to keep her out yet it backfired in spectacular fashion. Marching out, Jack’s accosted by Kyle – where have you been? Where are you going? Come along and find out when we get there, Jack snaps over his shoulder.
Mariah and Hilary coerce Shawna into appearing on today’s show. Aside, Hilary knows she’s bummed because a boy she liked didn’t invite her to prom. How can I say no? Shawna agrees to go on camera and is rewarded with an excited hug from Hilary (as Devon grins)
Nick takes the drink Victor’s poured him then announces that he and Sharon are back together. Huh, that’s wonderful news, Victor grunts.
Nikki’s not taking the news nearly as well but knows she can’t say much because Sharon could reveal her secret to Paul. Also, perhaps Sharon can get Nick to back off on looking for JT. Selfish reasons out of the way, Nikki admits she hates that Nick and Sharon are back together.
In Jack’s office, Billy and Phyllis relays the conversation they just had with him. Ashley wonders where Kyle went and reiterates that they must support Jack; he’s had his identity and job taken from him. After Ashley goes to make a call to check on Dina, Phyllis nudges Billy to put Jack aside and focus on his job as CEO.
Jack and Kyle are at the club’s bar. Over a cup of tea, Jack complains about Billy taking over his job. He wishes he’d listened to Kyle and removed the blood-only clause weeks ago. Kyle disagrees that it’s too late (if we team up)
Phyllis works to convince Billy that him being CEO doesn’t have to be temporary. Yes, you ARE ‘leadership material’ and can be the best CEO Jabot ever had. You have ‘verve and creativity’ and don’t need Ashley’s hard drive of ideas. If she’s so smart, she’d be CEO. Popping back in, Ashley seems surprised that Billy’s mulling over how he wants to run Jabot. Everything you need to know is on that hard drive, she says.
Still at the club, Kyle informs his Dad that Billy tried to have the blood-only clause removed at the time he was appointed CEO. Both he and Jack are sure Billy doesn’t want the responsibility. Impressed by his son’s support, Jack agrees – let’s go (back to Jabot)
Hilary and Mariah introduce one teenage model after another in their promwear. Now, a very special guest – say hello to Devon Hamilton. What did he look like at his prom? Hilary wonders aloud. Surprise! Mariah grins when the TV monitor instead pops up a photo of Hilary at her prom. After Devon’s photo is displayed, it’s time for a few of what Mariah might have worn – then back to the fashion show (and a ‘prom proposal’ with all the kids participating and applauding when Shawna accepts Charlie’s invitation)
