Billy gives Kyle an assignment – go see Devon to renegotiate the contract Jabot has with Hilary’s show. Jack gave his friend a sweet deal – do better. Kyle leaves – I’m on it.

Phyllis gets that Nick might be rethinking his place in the world and that this might be his last chance to work with his Father – but you’re just setting yourself up for disappointment. Coming home, Sharon’s pleased that Phyllis agrees with her. Given what day it is, Phyllis won’t comment on Nick and Sharon being back together. Walked to the door, she reiterates her advice – her and Sharon agreeing should tell Nick something. Needing some time alone, Nick goes for a walk.
At the stables, Nick’s thinking about Sharon and Phyllis’ warnings against working for his Dad. What do you think Squirt? he asks aloud as he looks at a photo of Cassie on his phone.
In the HWG office, Tessa’s embarrassed when Neil walks in on her playing guitar and singing. Knowing she ‘appropriated’ lyrics from Mariah’s journal, Neil hopes she hasn’t given up on her dream. You’re a valuable member of this team. Kyle drops by looking for Devon; Jabot’s sponsorship of The Hilary Hour is up for renewal; he’s there to renegotiate the contract. Neil will be glad to do so on Devon’s behalf.
Billy ends a call as Phyllis returns to hear that a smitten Gloria followed Arturo to pick out paint. He hopes he makes his Father proud (as CEO) You make ME proud, Phyllis says with a kiss.
Bringing an expandable folder to Billy’s office, Ashley’s annoyed to find the door locked so sits in the reception area to wait (while Billy’s making out with Phyllis)
Back at HWG, Kyle’s sure Neil will understand that Jabot wants a reduced rate to sponsor Hilary’s show (his Father’s offer was overly generous; it’s time to be realistic) Neil feels the ratings warrant an even better deal but will agree to keep the terms as is. And if that doesn’t work for Kyle? We cut ties and Hamilton Winters finds another sponsor for Hilary’s show. It’s been a pleasure, Neil shakes Kyle’s hand and leaves him and Tessa to chat. Mariah appears -s he’s not here to see Devon, she’s here to see Tessa.
