Now in robes and seated in lounge chairs, poolside, Devon serves Hilary a fancy alcohol-free drink. She appreciates him going to all the trouble; the couples massage… Are we a couple? Hilary has to ask. Devon thinks Phyllis is right – he’s been hiding his feelings. Devon now feels (due to the baby) that they’re starting over again. They shake hands and introduce themselves – then kiss.

Floating into the station on a cloud, Hilary thanks Devon for a wonderful day. It does seem brand new ~kiss~ Sneaking in, Phyllis startles Hilary (who’s now alone but still mooning over Devon) You and Devon are together – truly, Phyllis beams. He said all the right things, Hilary admits but looks scared Oh, dear God, she really hopes she’s pregnant.

Carrying his luggage down the staircase, Jack takes a sad, quick look around – then leaves the Abbott mansion (as if for good)

The COO job was a one time offer – Victor won’t ask Nick again. Stop and think (don’t make another mistake like giving all your money away) Well, that doesn’t go over well (and is not the way Nick sees it) Whoever takes this job will run NE, Victor points out; it won’t be Abby or Vikki. Maybe, Noah or Christian, Victor mulls it over. It won’t be Christian, Nick vows. You have no say in the matter – you’re not Christian’s biological Father, Victor says calmly. Nick surprises his Dad – I know and it changes nothing.

Next: Victor and Nick argue about a secret … Traci gives Jack some tough love ….Hilary sends mixed signals.

My Thoughts: So, there it is. Victor listed all the family members he’d hand the reigns of his empire to – and not one of them was female. So it doesn’t matter how much education or how many years you put in at the top level of Newman Enterprises, you will never be in contention if you are a woman; you will be passed over in favor of the most suitable and available male (regardless of his intelligence or experience) I really hope Noah grows up to be the Forrest Gump of business – and to be Victor’s only choice. Then Abby and Faith start a cosmetics company that puts NE out of business. Hopefully, this will be enough to wake up the Newman women. It’ll be interesting to see how Nikki reacts (since, for some reason, she believes she’s Victor’s equal) …. So free lunch at the club is a special reward reserved only for employees who do personal favors for the boss that aren’t in their job description? Does Devon have Tessa and Mariah picking up dry cleaning and running other pointless errands? I guess neither Tessa or Mariah can complain – it’s not like their university degrees and years of experience in office administration are being wasted.
