Back at CL’s, Cane explains that it’s his job to protect his family. Nate knows what it’s like to think you’re the only one who can solve a problem; the fear when you realize you can’t. You need to be Lily’s rock. Cane will always be Lily’s rock.

Joining his Dad as he works on Dark Horse business (in the club’ dining room) Kyle broaches the subject of ‘women’. Jack was interested in someone but she didn’t reciprocate. Letting Jack get back to work, Kyle texts Summer an update. She doesn’t need his ‘good luck’ – get ready to watch.

Phyllis comes home seconds after Summer hides a camera to gently remind that keeping Billy in the loop is HER job. On her way out, Summer suggests her Mom call Jack – he seems to be a bit down about the whole paternity thing (but don’t mention that I said anything) With her Mom’s thanks, Summer smirks smugly as she leaves.

Jack’s work is now interrupted by Summer; who claims that she’s avoiding the condo because of the weird vibe between Billy and Phyllis (who’s home alone and needs someone to talk to) It seemed to Summer like her Mom and Jack were going to get back together. Phyllis has made her choice; it’s Billy, Jack points out. They’re hanging on by a thread, Summer claims – then asks Jack to pull Phyllis back from the abyss.

When Cane drops by HWG, Lily weeps over the cruel things Devon said – he hates me. If I am punished it won’t be enough for him.

At the penthouse, Neil tells Nate that Devon is full of rage; he isn’t the man I know. Will you help me? Whatever you need, Nate agrees. They then cross the hall to Devon’s apartment – we’re here to save you from yourself, Neil announces.

Phyllis is pleasantly surprised when Jack drops by. Take a seat, she’s happy they’re friends (even if he doesn’t approve of her being with Billy) On the CL’s patio, Kyle has earbuds in as he watches the live feed from Summer’s camera and sends her a text to update that Jack’s at Phyllis’ making awkward small talk. The night is young and Summer’s going in for phase 2 of her plan (delivering take out to Billy’s office)

We’re not here to judge you, Neil insists – we’ve been there. Nate talks about losing his girlfriend; he didn’t want to feel anything and was lost; bitter. I should have gotten help. Knowing Devon’s consumed with guilt, Neil talks about losing Dru – don’t let what happened to me happen to you. Would Hilary want this for you?

Devon thinks of what happened to Hilary every time he looks at me, Lily cries to Cane. If Hilary was driving and I died, would you forgive HER? Knowing he wouldn’t, Lily can’t blame Devon. After all we’ve been through, this might be what breaks this family apart forever.

Commiserating over Hilary’s death, Jack tells Phyllis that he’s always there for her. There for him too, Phyllis asks Jack about his search for his Father. He’s happy to have Dark Horse as a challenge. Watching via tablet on the patio, Kyle looks bored.
