Jack’s charm and ambition will make him a star at Jabot – and Traci has her writing, but Dina worries that Ashley will be left behind. This contract will make things fairer long after we’re gone. Stay away from that contract, Dina barks at Kyle – John’s a helluva lot sharper than YOU are! Having a quiet conversation with Kyle, Jack does indeed see the problem – Jabot would be bankrupt if Ashley’s given her patents. On cue, Ashley gets off the elevator.

Lily’s delighted to get a visit from Devon and Cane (Neil will be by later) After hugs, all take a seat. Cane apologizes for standing Lily up last time. She admits she was a bit alarmed and asked Nate to check on him. Cane won’t let Lily down again. Both men are impressed to hear about how Lily made makeup from diluted candy and glitter. She offered to teach her fellow inmates and has learned who to hang out with and how to avoid being a target (in order to make her life as easy as possible) Cane’s proud and supportive – think big. Yes, he has an idea.

Abby catches up with her Mom in front of the CEO office. She wants to take the first step to make amends.

A lot of things have changed. We can protect Ashley better another way, Jack claims. Of course, Dina believes ‘John’. Thank you, he gives her a hug. We have to make sure this contract doesn’t confuse anyone else. Kyle makes a beeline to the shredder.

About to get on the elevator, Ashley hears a sound. No, Abby didn’t hear anything. No big deal, Ashley shrugs it off as she continues on her way.

In the office, Dina whimpers as Jack feeds the contract into the shredder.

Seated at the club, Abby’s tried to see things from her Mom’s point of view but is still in shock over what she did to Uncle Jack. What about what he did to me? Ashley quickly apologizes then calmly lists her reasons; DNA was used against me – I used DNA to reassert myself (and you) Abby doesn’t want to be used as an excuse; she would have told her Mom not to do it. You’re worse off now.

Dina upstairs napping, Jack pours a drink as he and Kyle discuss the contract. He seems to feel guilty about shredding an agreement his parents made to protect Ashley (who wouldn’t have done any of this if this had gone into effect years ago) Traci comes home to ask how Dina’s doing. We’re all still reeling from Ashley’s ‘rampage’ but we’re Abbotts – and now we need to think carefully about who’ll be Jabot’s next CEO. After Jack runs out for a Dark Horse meeting, Traci lectures Kyle – do what’s right for Jabot and this family. He’s already made that his focus.

Cane shares his idea. Lily’s to become an alternative beauty consultant – ask the warden if you can have a specific time and place to share beauty tips. She likes the idea and can’t believe visiting time’s almost up. Hugging his sister, Devon gives the Ashby’s some privacy.

Ashley always thought her Mother would come back to reconnect with her granddaughter. I swore never to be like Dina and can’t bear the thought that Abby feels the same way she felt about her Mother. Abby consoles her Mom then spotting Jack pushes her to talk to him. With a hug, Abby exits and Ashley asks Jack if the barstool beside him is taken. It is now, he’s friendly.
