Victoria's Secret
Vikki turns the tables - maybe YOU are playing games - you made me think the CEO position was available. What gives? Now I hear Jill has it. Vikki relays their run in. Jill thinks she's running the show. You say anything to her? Jack asks. About what? My hope that I'd be CEO? Vikki replies. Jack wishes she'd responded in time. I told you I'd hold it for two weeks - and assumed you weren't interested. Too late to throw my hat in the ring? Vikki asks. Jack sighs.
When you heal the family rift - is it bye bye Jabot? Jack asks. What's going on in that pretty head - and can your heart get behind Jabot? It IS serious business - I want the best person. Jill is not YOU. She already has the job, Vikki reminds. It hasn't been run by the board. It's not official - but she's been loyal, Jack thinks aloud. It'd be ugly to stab her in the back. Vikki's nonchalant: Business is business - I learned from the master. It's how I was raised. Do you want me or don't you? No skin off my nose. Jack looks trapped: You can turn you back on your family? Vikki assures she can't work with Nick. It's Jill or me. I won't sell myself. Stick with Jill - fine. Jack wants time. Don't twist my arm. Vikki needs to know - by the end of the day. Just let me know - I'll get out of your hair. Jack will talk to Jill. Good - I'll expect to hear from you - by midnight. As Jack leaves, Vikki smiles to herself.
Still at the club, Vic doesn't buy that Jill's CEO - Jack Abbott's up to something. Kay doesn't think it makes sense. Why would Jack change his mind? Jilll lacks qualifications - she ain't Victor Newman's daughter, Vic states. Kay had no idea Vikki was even back. She wouldn't be had Jack not gone to see her in Italy - at your expense I might add. He wasn't waiting for the right person to fill the spot - he was stalling - now he's in a predicament.
He's pursuing his own agenda - Victoria's interested, Vic continues. Kay thinks Vikki'd be a good CEO. Vic knows Jack is up to something - his won agenda, he repeats. He WILL dump Jill if it suits his purpose. Of course he wants to get back at me. He's a rich man's son - never done anything on his won. Why would she want to be involved? Kay wonders. She has an ax to grind. I don't want her involved. Who better than YOUR daughter to run Jabot? We are in the same boat - concerned for our business and family. Jack is devious and needs to be stopped before he does damage to both our families.
Arriving at the lab, Jack informs Jill he ran into Stew Anderson and is told she's initiating new security protocal. More safeguards. Victoria Newman waltzed in. Yes - I took it upon myself to set up a meeting with the head of secuty - I'm CEO. Have you set up the board meeting? Jack will set it up when the time is right. I'm being insubordinate? Jill balks. It's a CI matter - not a Jabot matter, Jack decides. Jill disagrees: The meeting is about ME. I'll try not to overstep again, she concedes: Would you mind scheduling the meeting? Jack's thinking of taking Jabot in a different direction.
Jill is scared - I can feel you backpeddling. Jack continues to say he's plotting the futures of CI and Jabot. I'm hoping you will understand this. No easy way to say it. You're not the right peson to run Jabot. Oh no - you can't do this to me! Please don't do this to me! Outside, Kay listens. How could you be so cruel? Jill wails. Yes - how could you? Kay interrupts - I arrived in the nick of time. You should reconsider your plans to shaft my daughter. No YOU hold your horses. You have an agenda - if it involves terminating my daughter from the top spot you promised her. You fire her - I fire YOU.
Brit, Bobby, and the Bill
Brit gets a call regarding her unpaid bull at the hospital - except it's Vinnie on the other end of the phone. A nervous Brit advises she'll speak to her husband, and hangs up. On cue, Bobby arrives: how's my best girl? Brit relays the call (supposedly from the hospital). They're turning the bill over to a collections agency. Why didn't you tell me how serious this was? How can I NOT worry? I shouldn't have stayed in the hospital so long. There's more bills: the rent - utilities - phone. We're sinking in debt. Bobby assures he'll handle it - but is silent when Brit asks 'how'?? Soon after, Vinnie calls - if you've changed your mind on the money making offer - meet me at your old office in a half hour, he instructs Bobby.
Celebrate Good Times - C'Mon
Gloria gives Mac a warm welcome - everyone knows Kevin has a crush on you. Kevin squirms - but Mac finds it refreshing to meet someone who speaks what's on her mind. Mike and giggly Gloria announce they cashed in the ticket. Over 490,000 is now in the bank. Mike proposes a toast: to ourselves - may we spend it wisely and in good healthy. The doorbell rings - must be Gina with the food order.
Kevin notices Mac looks like she's in pain. She had an accident - JT took her to the hospital - everything's OK. How did therapy go? Kevin confides they talked about her: You and how much it means to have you in my corner. I'll be there as long as you need me, Mac smiles.
Everything looks delicious, Gloria compliments Gina (who wonders how she can party while her dear husband is in the hospital). Lauren comes to her rescue to make it known that Gloria has visited as much as she's able 0 and Mike promptly arranges to have it put on his tab - and shows Gina out.
Mike has more to say: he's aware of hundreds of thousands of people who suddenly found themselves with nothing. 100 grand will go to Tsunami relief in the name of Kevin Fisher. You're a hero, Kevin proclaims. Lauren and then Mac agree. 50% of the remainder is for Kevin - but will be invested. Kevin is blown away. YOU - he addresses Gloria. You're at loose ends. I intend to stand by you. If you need it, I'll buy you a place of your own. You're the most wonderful son a mother could hope to have. You too - she tells Kevin. The merry crew heads into the dining room.
Kevin jokes about Mike not allowing food in the living room - he freaks out. Mike heard that! He's the living incarnation of Felix Unger, Lauren jokes. To my boys, Gloria toasts: you had rough childhoods with me - and with Kevin's dad. I'm so lucky we got past that and came together as a family. No matter what anyone thinks or says - I'm so proud to be your mother. Kevin kisses his Mom. Room for dessert? Mike asks the ladies: chocolate eclairs? Mike pulls Gloria aside to make doggy bags - and invites her to stay the night. Gloria will go home to prepare the house for John's release. I won't be bullied out of my home. Lauren has to leave. Mac does to... Kevin will walk her home. This is the best day ever - my troubles are behind me. I'll go get your coat. Mac smiles - but looks slightly uneasy.
Post Party Poopers
At Crimson Lights, Robin asks JT if his job doesn't sometimes get depressing. JT admits he was bummed earlier today - but a good friend told him he was just seeking the truth. JT's now not up for hitting the club's. Placing a hand over his, Robin suggests her place. JT wants to call it a night - I'm wiped out. What other reason would there be? We WERE having a good time, JT assures - but feels guilty about Mac. She seemed fine, Robin points out - but claims to understand. I'll call you again soon - promise. Whatever you say, Robin 'get it' - forget it. Mac's very lucky - having a guy like you looking out for her. JT leaves her pouting.
Mac? Mac? That's weird - where could she be? He calls her cell and leaves a message - as the giggling Kevin and Mac arrive home. Thought you were staying home to study, he says. I figured the books would be here when I got back, Mac replies: I had fun, Kevin says: It meant a lot you were there - we haven't had a lot to celebrate lately. They exchange cheek kisses as Mac sees him out. So - wanna tell me why you're really home so early? JT claims Robin had an early class. See you in the morning. JT calls her back - then pauses... nuthin'. Mac proceeds to her room, as JT's left to think.
Back at the apartment, Kevin is stunned to find himself face to face with Terrible Tom! Hey kid - looks like somebody had a party. What's wrong boy - cat got your tongue? Not even gonna say hello to your old man? A wide eyed Kevin is frozen in fear.
Party Girl
Cassie's chats with a pal on the phone: This is the party of the year - I'd hate to miss it. Gotta go, she hangs up when Nick enters. Cassie makes him promise not to freak out -she realizes she messed up - and wants to be ungrounded. Sharon joins them: looks serious. Our daughter thinks it time she got her freedom back, Nick updates.
Cassie goes out for a ride, at Sharon's suggestion. Bet she's tired of being cooped up in her room, but she isn't sure about ungrounding her. Nick thinks it time - and is pleased to hear his idea of the make up lessons worked. Nick noticed she looks like our little girl again. Looks like she'll make the honour roll. Maybe we SHOULD reward her, Nick persuades. Sharon's uncertain - she needs to earn that trust back. Nick thinks she needs encouragement.
When Cassie returns, she receives a mild scolding for riding on an ATV - not a horse: I don't want you driving by yourself, Nick scolds. Cassie's anxious to get her learners permit - and wonders if her grounding is over. They promise to have an answer for her soon.
My Thoughts: Today's show rates an 8.5....490,000 - Ok minus 100,00 to Tsunami...Kevin gets half..that leaves about $195,000. Gloria won't be getting much of a house after Mike takes Lauren on vacation.. That's great that Mike's giving Kevin half the money - but does it HAVE to be invested? The kid has no job or home of his own - couldn't he use it NOW? Note Gloria's reaction to Mike donating 100 grand to Tsunami relief ... And didn't Lauren and Kevin wonder why the million dollars shrunk to less than half that?? .... What is Gina doing delivering take out?? And how rud of her to take a dig at Gloria in her own home. Surely there's somewhere else Mike could have ordered from ... You go Kay! Nice to see her make it clear to Jacko who's in charge - he's been throwing his weight around way too much - and like it or not, Jill or Brad deserved the job (still not sure why Ash disqualified herself) ... Silly Lauren - Kevin and Mac likely have no clue who Felix Unger is - You're showing your age.... Is there ANY doubt that Cassie's going to get herself into some sort of trouble at this party of the year? ... Does JT drink beer every day or what? ...
Next: Nick asks Vic: whats going on with Vikki that I need to know?? ...Kay announces to Jack: You've gone behind my back for the last time... Tom taunts Kevin: What's wrong kid? You scared? No - I'm not afraid of you, Kevin answers in a shakey voice. |
