The Other Baldwin Brothers
I owe you a great debt - but why were you here? a civil John asks Kevin. My Mom loves you. I think you should give her a second chance, the dutiful son pleads: You and my Mom have something special. HAD something, John corrects. We have insurmountable issues. You can't get past her lying to you, Kevin concludes: she knew how you'd react if you knew the truth. She's a good person. John thinks they need to end the conversation. No! Kevin refuses. You said you owed me - I'm here to collect. I know you'll always hate me - but I've changed. It's not fair to hold it against my mother. Unfortunately, John's feelings won't change. Kevin has said what he had to say: thanks for listening - it meant a lot. John sighs to himself as Kevin leaves.

Mike calls the boutique to invite Lauren over for jambalaya. Noticeably unfriendly, she can't give any guarantees. I have a customer - I gotta get going. See you later? Mike confirms. Fine, Lauren snaps coldly, then pastes on a smile to greet none other than Terrible Tom. He's looking for a necklace - nice - but he's on a budget - though he's coming into some money. No - not the lottery - he's working on a deal - got some friends in the right places helping him out. Narrowed down to two necklaces, Tom asks Lauren to hold them up to her 'lovely' neck. This one is more flamboyant - this one more understated. Tom spots a 3rd necklace under the display counter. Great choice, Lauren gives it to him, and goes to the back for a box. Tom admires the necklace: 'insurance'.

Mike invites Gloria in - but immediately tries to get rid of her. OK - make it short, he concedes. Gloria announces Kevin's meeting with John. Isn't that wonderful? I need my sons now more than ever. Phyllis and that heap of trouble Daniel have moved in. Plus, there's still Geeta to worry about. When Gloria requests he go see John, Mike asks her not to go setting up any meetings. She's thrilled her sons are looking after her - but wonders if anything is going on with Kevin? Promise you'll make an effort to improve your relationship with John. Gloria takes the not so subtle hint and leaves: say Hi to Lauren.

Arriving at Mike's, Lauren ignores the presented gift wrapped box: if you think a gift will make up for your lack of communication, think again. You haven't called me in days. Maybe I'm not that important to you. How could you leave me hanging? she sniffles. Open the box, Mike implores. Lauren opens it - and finds a beautiful black dress; A Forrester original. Mike talked to Eric Forrester personally - you're special to him - and me also. Who better to spend my winnings on. Would you wear this tonight? I have a whole evening planned - it will be memorable. Lauren agrees without smiling - we still have stuff to discuss. There's more gifts in the bedroom, Mike sends her in to change.

A Game Of Pool
Kay hires a new pool boy - and insists it must be cleaned twice a week. He's cuter than the last one, Ester admires as he goes off to check on supplies - I better go show him where the shed is. Kay then greets Mac (who admits she's bummed out). JT hasn't called once - I'm thinking of moving back into the loft. Kay bets her 5 bucks she hears from him by the end of the day.

Kay answers the phone: lo and behold, it's JT. He wants to pick up the rent check. I'm on my way. Kay hangs up: he's coming by. Yes- he mentioned the rent - but I think there's more to it. Mac doubts it. Kay spots the pool boy - You know so little about men. Listen to your dear Grandma one more time.

Mac's out by the pool in her bikini - Jason lounges next to her. Go say Hi to her, Kay prods JT - who watches as she reads a magazine. JT -Mackenzie would want to know you're here, Kay whispers as she stands behind him - don't you want to say hello? I need to get to the bank, JT says as he leaves. Soon after, Mac hops up: where's JT? Did he see me with Jason? It didn't bother him at all, she concludes sadly. Oh yes it did. Kay gloats as she recalls the look on JT's face. Mac's had enough of playing games. She's got it bad, Kay agrees with Ester - but not all is lost.

Driving Ms Dazed n' Confused
Phyllis chats with Daniel at the tackhouse: I told Kevin Fisher to keep his distance - he's the last thing you need. Daniel agrees he's hurting - but not his back or his neck. Lily was here. Her Mom dragged her out. Please - don't get involved with that girl, Phyllis pleads: Why Lily Winters? You have a knack for picking lousy friends. Daniel now understands how Kevin feels - everyone hating you. Phyllis reminds him: You have ME!

When Dru returns, Daniel decides he'll take another load of stuff to the Abbott's. Dru complains about Lily being with Daniel. Mother to mother - let's keep them apart. My son is looking at going to jail - responsible for the death of a child. Times are tough for me and my son. Lily is the last thing on my mind. YOU keep her in line. Dru thinks they should talk about business. She needs Phyllis' input on Seasons - but you're never at work. Maybe I should hire someone else. I'll hire someone for that bit of internet marketing. I need my job, Phyllis states: Cut me some slack in the office. Dru doesn't want to take a risk on this project. I'll give 110%, Phyllis promises. Fine - but I need you back soon. Sorry your kid's in trouble, she offers reluctantly on her way out.

Neil arrives home and summons Lily from her room. I got a call from your mother. She found you with Daniel. He's not mad - but disappointed. Daniel needs someone in his corner, Lily implores. Neil thinks she has enough going on in her life. You'll pay the price for someone elses mistakes. Lily agrees: no more Daniel.

Cassie tells her parents she's tired and had weird dreams. Talking to Daniel - he's been drinking. It's jumbled up. I can't make sense of it. They encourage her to focus on getting better. Cassie is starting to remember. We'll talk about it when you're better, Sharon assures.

Liv reports the fever's down 2/10ths of a degree. She's not out of the woods but holding her own. Sharon gives her a grateful hug - then one for Nick. They welcome the visiting Lily: Cassie would love to see you. Might cheer her up, Sharon suggest as Lily goes in.

In Cassie's room, Lily's so sorry - I should have never left you to look after Daniel. I'm not a little kid, don't feel bad, Cassie answers. Yes - Lily's seen him; he's pretty devastated. He only wants you to get better. Yeah - he really said that. He's pretty scared. Daniel can't remember either. If I could, maybe I could help him, Cassie mopes: Maybe he swerved to miss another car or something. Cassie's trying to remember. I want to help Daniel more than anything. I forgive him - I was the one who got in the car with him. Thanks for coming. Get better, Lily says. She thanks Sharon on her way out (as Sharon and Nick enter the room). Cassie's face twitches - my head hurts a little. Dad - can you get me some medication? Doing so, Nick suggests Sharon go home and update Noah. With a worried look back, Sharon agrees.

Daniel...Daniel..Cassie again dreams of the party. Flashes back to getting into the car and starting it up...then the sound of the crash. Once again, she sits upright: I was driving!

Lily finds Daniel at the Abbott home and relays her visit to Cassie. He feels he's messed everyone's lives up. Mom's lost her home - and could lose her job. I'm a screw up. The rest of the world thinks I'm some creep - and want to lock me up and throw away the key. Everyone would be better off if I weren't here - I've got to leave GC.

My Thoughts
Today's show rates an 8 ... Neil states that Lily has a lot going on in her life? Oh yeah? What? .... Don't much care for seeing Lauren as needy, whining girlfriend - I'm sure the Forrester original is to die for (and given a few more gifts, she'll come around). Funny that she has to hang up as soon as she gets one solitary customer - where is her teen staff? Folding T-shirts in the back? ... Wonder what Terrible Tom has up his sleeve? And how Geeta's emulate necklace will come into play (it's been mentioned FAR too many times not to) ... Ester was humourous today (going off to help the new hot pool boy to find the shed - perhaps Ester meant 'bed') .... With the price of gas these days, JT should have insisted Mac drop the check off... Now that Cassie knows SHE was driving the car - what will she do? We'll SEE if she really would do 'anything' to save Daniel. s

For those who were members of the message boards - and therefore, no doubt, a friend of 'Leafy's' - Amy Kay has created a very touching tribute. http://dump.grendosa.com/Leafy.wmv . Just added: my own eulogy or sorts. My thoughts: From the heart - Leafy.

Next: PSA by Nikki for The American Cancer Society - early detection saves live....www.cancer.org. Take the great American Health Check today...... Nick agrees with Sharon: I feel it too - our little girl has turned a corner... JT's on the phone with Mac - You won't believe it. I found another roommate.... Now dressed and ready to go, Lauren wants to know where they're going. Mike kisses her hand - patience my dear.
