Decent Proposal
In his tux and bow tie, Mike gives the dressed to kill Lauren an appreciative wolf whistle. You gonna tell me where we're going? she asks. Patience my dear, Mike chuckles. Lauren can't enjoy the mystery evening without discussing why he is unable or unwilling to be open with her. Indulge me for the next few hours, Mike requests as he leads her out. The private dining room at the Colonnade Room has been transformed into a casino. Seated at their table, the champagne is poured. What is this? a bewildered Lauren wonders. A gamble - life is a gamble, Mike explains: Big risk - big rewards. You promised to indulge me - I'll hold you to it. Mike cuts off any protest: Hold that thought til after we dance. Lauren reluctantly agrees. Out on the patio, Mike and Lauren dance a seductive tango - then kiss.

Inside, Lauren's having great luck at blackjack. Dennis the card dealer assures the game's not rigged. As Lauren pushes all her chips forward. Two cards are turned up. One reads 'Marry' , the other 'me'. Rhonda the waitress appears to open up a box that contains an impressive diamond ring. As Mike looks at her expectantly, Lauren's eyes are wide.

Dearly Departed Damon
Phyllis welcomes Damon into the tackhouse - nice to see a friendly face. Daniel is overwhelmed with guilt. I'm so angry at him for bringing this upon himself - but, as his mother, I want to protect him. He's dug a hole so deep.. I can't make it better. If I lose him... Damon wishes there was something he could do. Yes - I'm moving out. She doesn't blame the Newman's for asking her to move out. Stay at my place, Damon encourages - this is the worst time to tell you this - I'm leaving town. Adrian and I have been spending a lot of time together. We're making progress - and having fun like we used to. Damon knows he handled the death of their son badly - hurt his wife by shutting her out. She got a job offer in Atlanta - raising funds for African relief. He'll get another job - and still has his ranch. Phyllis thinks he's doing the right thing. Do everything you can to hold on to each other. She declines his place - feeling more comfortable at the Abbott's. Phyllis won't say good bye - it's not good bye. We've been through a lot together. Damon sees they still are. You'll always be in my heart. Email me, Phyllis requests. Don't worry about us - concentrate on Adrian. She deserves your attention. I'm gonna miss you, Phyllis tears up. With one last look, he's gone.

The Impatient Patient
Still at the Abbott home, Daniel tells Lily that he's decided to leave GC. He's praying Cassie will be OK but can't go to jail. His Dad would be the first person they'd go to. If I'm caught, I'll be screwed - but I'm already screwed anyway. You're talking about cutting yourself off from everyone who cares about you, Lily whines: How can you do this to your Mom? You finally found each other. I'll be behind bars, he points out. He'll just have to get used to being alone. I AM going with you, Lily insists. Like it or not. Listen to me. Daniel won't let her ruin her life over him. I never thought you'd speak to me- you've been unbelievable - I don't deserve it. You're not a bad person, Lily claims: you made a mistake. Daniel's made up his mind, and continues to pack his bag. I need to be gone before Mom gets here. Lily gives him a hug. I wish there was someplace we could.... Lily has an idea - perfect... There's no need for you to go anywhere. In a way you WILL be invisible. You'll be right under their noses - the perfect answer.

Over at Memorial, Nick reports things are looking good. Sharon shows him the baby album she bought. Nick believes Cassie's turned a corner. Things will be back to normal soon. Sharing his optimism, Sharon gives him a kiss. They go back to admiring the photo album. Our little girl has a wonderful future, they smile. She'll be graduating high school - off to college - married - kids of her own. DR Chim has good news - Cassie's temperature remains the same.

They observe the sleeping Cassie. Her face looks flushed - temperature's gone up 1/10th of a degree - that's why the nurse paged him. The Newman's worry: what does that mean? Let's not talk in here, the DR leads them out.

Cassie dreams of starting the car. Dani... Dan... I have to explain. The nurse comes over: Cassie? Let's check your temperature again, the nurse says.

What are you telling us? This isn't a good sign, DR Chim admits. Sharon freaks - shouldn't we have been wearing masks and gowns. No - DR Chim explains the infecting agent was left at the time of impact. The surgery fixed the fracture - we're doing all we can, but... Please don't tell me it's out of our hands. You've already changed the antibiotics a few times, Nick growls. Surely there's something else, Sharon agrees. DR Chim has no magic answer. Medical science has it's limitations. Look somewhere else, Nick orders - someone can help our daughter. Don' seek mystical cures - most often it's the path that leads to false hope and heartbreak, DR Chim claims. But Nick won't just sit and let his daughter slip away.

Daniel... Daniel.. Cassie sits up - removes the tubes and pulls out the IV. Breathing rapidly, she gets out of bed. She's soon slipped into Sharon's coat - her head wrapped in the kerchief. Moving as quickly as she can, Cassie opens the door...'Have to....' she murmurs as she slips out. ..

Ola Amigo!
Mac mopes around the Estate and declines a nice hot cup of tea - and a movie (but appreciates what Kay's tried to do). JT doesn't care that I moved out. Kay insists he was jealous of her talking to the pool boy. If you believe he doesn't care, at least you know where you stand. Mac thinks it time she picked up the rest of her stuff. Kay takes a call from JT, and hands it to Mac: you won't believe this - I found another roommate. I ran into a girl who needed a place to stay. I need to get your stuff out - tonight. I'm going out of town - to Mexico. Samantha is going to Cancun for a few days and asked me to go. I'm gonna party my butt off. I'll drop everything and come right over, Mac says sarcastically. I can't believe him, Mac fumes as she hangs up: what a jerk! Kay thinks it all happened rather quickly - she has to wonder.... Mac decides she's now over JT Hellstrum. I'm happier than I've ever been, Mac insists as she stomps off. Dear child doesn't have a chance in hell - serves him right, a knowing Kay mutters to herself.

Buenos Noches senorita, JT calls out in his sombrero - as a stunned Mac sees the loft is now decorated Mexican style. He's making tacos - and feeling little festive. Mac passes on the Margaritas. Don't bite my head off, JT laughs: Somebody's in a bad mood. You have no idea why? Mac's aghast. What did I do? JT asks innocently. I'm sure you and Samantha want private time, she snaps - Is she decorating my room? Then who's this for? Wow - talk about clueless, JT smiles: This is for you - welcome to the party. ..

My Thoughts
Today's show rates a 9 ... Hated Sharon's coated and wondered why she was wearing such a matronly design - looks like it had a kite stuck to the back of it - but I guess Cassie needed something for her head .... This can't be good... Where have the rest of the Newman's disappeared to anyway? ... And speaking of disappearing - I'm guessing Daniel will somehow end up hiding out at the Abbott kiddie make out hideaway .... Aw c'mon Lauren - how can you possibly resist!? Mikey went all out - and he's smokin' hot in his penguin suit ... So what if he doesn't want to talk about Terrible Tom - why don't YOU answer some personal questions (like where's your son Scotty?) ... I'd completely forgotten all about poor Damon (but seeing him and Phyllis say good bye's, wouldn't mind him staying) ... How could Phyllis possibly feel more 'comfortable' at the Abbott home than Damon's empty (and presumably paid for) apartment. ..... JT may not have done it up right to the scale Michael did - but what the heck. Mac needs to spit it out herself how she feels about JT (maybe a few shots of Tequila might help).
