Haunted Mansion
Over at the Abbott home, Cassie is the topic of conversation between John, Ash and Gloria (who'd like to volunteer to help). Both Ash and John are sure Victor is doing everything that can be done. We can only pray. When Geeta joins them and chides John for being up, he explains he received troubling news - but declines a sedative. Gloria rattles on about a dream she had - someone was in the house - she heard a door close. Once alone with Gloria, a nervous Geeta asks what happened to the door - does it happen often?? After you've lived here a while you'll see - the house has cold spots, makes noises, Gloria explains. You think it's haunted, don't you?? Geeta concludes. Gloria plays into her fears: You decide. Pleasant dreams. Unsettled, Geeta's left to rub her amulet necklace.
Girl Interrupted
Vikki now joins her Mom at the ranch. They get the update that PI Paul has narrowed the search and are looking for Cassie. Nick's also out looking. Vic is staying to console Sharon. Hanging up, Nikki and Vikki are left to worry. As they look through photos, Vikki looks forward to their trip to Italy this summer - great idea. Nick arrives and reports his search was fruitless. Getting a call from Paul (who's also had no luck), Nick races out to meet him - and continue the search. Again the ladies are left to weep and wring their hands.
Back at Memorial, Vic touches base with Webber - then does his best to reassure Sharon (who worries about Cassie's call being disconnected). They'll find her, he maintains. Sharon frets over a photo of Cassie - I love her so much. She can't help but wonder if this is yet another time that her daughter has needed her - and she wasn't there. Why would she leave??
Meanwhile, on her last legs, Cassie bumps around the Crimson Lights patio. Spotting her, Daniel and Lily sit her down and frantically try to assist: get water! He calls 911 - then asks Dylan to call Cassie's Dad. A determined Cassie mumbles about talking to Daniel (as Lily fusses over her).
After Vic and Nikki update one another again by phone, Sharon thanks Victor for being there for her. She then welcomes her Mom (as summoned by Vic) and is then relieved when the nurse informs her that Cassie has been found and is being brought back. Sharon is optimistic: I remember when Cassie was born - that sweet tiny human being. I had an incredible surge of love. Giving her up was the hardest thing I ever had to do. Doris wishes she'd stopped the adoption. None of it matters anymore - she belongs to you and Nicholas. Sharon vows never to take her eyes off Cassie again. Back at CL's, Nick arrives and shoves his way past Daniel - then barks that his Dad and Sharon be called. Still mumbling incoherently about needing to talk to him about the accident, Cassie pushes her Dad aside and lunges at Daniel. Passing out she ends up on the floor in her Dad's arms again. The paramedics race in and check Cassie (who lies limply in Nick's arms). OK Squirt - don't leave me OK? Nick instructs in Cassie's ear as her gurney's wheeled out. What did she want to tell me? a baffled Daniel asks Lily. Vikki joins Brad at the club: Hello again - I needed to get out of the house. No word on Cassie. I forwarded my cell. Vikki declines a drink - I enjoyed your visit tonight. Despite the rude interruptions? Brad smiles. Vikki wishes he and Jack could get along. Brad doesn't get along with snakes. I fell asleep and woke up alone, Vikki probes. Brad thought she needed her sleep. You couldn't rock me back to sleep? Vikki purrs. Brad would gladly rock her back to sleep. Vikki apologizes: don't hold me to anything I say right now. I gotta go. Yes - they will make up for it when everything's back to normal. Vikki gets a call: They did? That's fabulous! They found her, Vikki reports as she gives Brad a relieved hug.
Liv advises Victor that she's informed the staff that Cassie's on her way in - and will get the ER ready. Vic has specialists standing by - they can be there within the hour. Do everything within your power to save that little girl, he orders. We'll do everything humanly possible, Liv promises.
Can't Have Your Cake and Eat It Too
Returning to the Estate with her cake leftovers, Mac is given a lecture on healthy eating by Ester (who takes the cake - literally). Kay learns things didn't exactly go well with JT (who wants a roommate - but no commitment). Mac can't live with that.
Overhearing, Jill overrides Kay's advice: Go for what you want or you might wind up like us. If you put all these conditions on things, you'll price yourself right out of the market. You've been moping for days over JT and he asks you out for a date and you still mope? He wants a roommate - I want to date. He asked you out - and paid didn't he? Jill points out. But Mac would like to know he's not asking someone else out tonight. Give him time to decide you're the one, Jill suggests. If he doesn't see I'm a good catch, that's his problem, Mac decides. Jill thinks she's looking for excuses to end it before it begins - because of Billy. Jill understands - she's ruined many chances at love because they didn't match up to Phillip Chancellor. You're smart and beautiful - the CEO of Jabot, Mac replies: We may never be close but that doesn't mean I don't admire you. Jill's beginning to see what her son saw in Mac. And Mac's starting to see Jill's point on taking a chance.
At the loft, JT whines to the visiting Brit that he misses his roommate. Why, he even made tacos and took her to the club for dessert. You just may lose her, Brit warns knowingly. JT switches topics and tells her to just enjoy life - you used to practically run Walnut Grove. You spent your whole life trying to be the center of attention - now you have to share the spotlight - it's like you gave up yourself. I'm having a baby - it's wonderful, Brit insists. Mac wants something real -no games. Brit prefers her life now - I have a man who loves me - takes care of me. Since when did you want someone to take care of you? JT asks. The tough act was an act, Brit claims. JT's not acting: he likes being single. You sure? Mac would make a beautiful bride...she's made it clear she doesn't like the way things are. She doesn't want to be your friend - she wants to be your girlfriend. Take a stab at it - what's the worst that could happen.
Over at the club, Vinnie intercepts Bobby's tip and reminds him he owes - plus interest. Bobby refuses to serve Vinnie his whiskey straight up. My money's as good as anyone elses. He chides Bobby for being a bartender. hat's my money - Bobby grabs his cash. Vinnie points a fingers in his face: every dime you make is mine til the debt is paid off. That doesn't work for me, Bobby says. Vinnie threatens to tell his lovely wife. Don't push me, Bobby warns - back off - get out of here. You haven't heard the last of me, Bob, Vinnie warns as he leaves.
My Thoughts
Today's show rates a 9 ... Apologies - appointment ran late today.
For those who were members of the message boards - and therefore, no doubt, a friend of 'Leafy's' - Amy Kay has created a very touching tribute. http://dump.grendosa.com/Leafy.wmv . Just added: my own eulogy or sorts. My thoughts: From the heart - Leafy.
Next: Poolside, JT tells Mac: I can't change who I am... Mac knows - but won't settle....Sharon continues to worry about Cassie's condition ... Daniel's agitated: everything is out of control! Lily does her best to be supportive.
