B For Bravery
At the club bar, JT gives Mac props for being braver than he gave her credit for - and suggests they have some dessert. Don't tell me that's the end of the day, Mac pouts. You sure look pretty, JT smiles. Mac bets her hair looks bad (from the steam room). JT caresses her hair - OK - dessert: I'm having chocolate mousse cake. There's nothing better than chocolate, JT says. You sure? Try this, she feeds him a bit of her cheese cake. Mmm - pretty good - try some of this. JT puts a tiny crumb on his fork. Mmm that's good, Mac laughs. Amazing - the things that go together - think about all the things that go together but we don't now because we've never tried them. That's the most philosophical thing I've heard you say, Mac decides: Are we talking about different foods? Not necessarily, JT answers. No - he doesn't want the day to end. Movie? Music? OK - let's go home. We could rearrange the furniture - or sit and talk. Mac's OK with that..it's just... I think of you more as a do'er than a talker. Yes - you're definitely exciting enough for me.
Mamma Marsino
Bobby joins Brit in the doctors office. She's feeling better - but regrets not being able to attend Cassie's memorial service. How's Nikki doing? Thank you for being here, she adds. Bobby wouldn't miss this ultra sound - and isn't so sure he wants to know if the baby's a boy or girl. It'll make shopping and decorating easier, she points out logically - but agrees with Bobby to keep it a surprise. Bobby assures his worried wife that he'll take care of the bills. Dr Thompson arrives and reports the baby's developing - the heart's strong. Withe the ultra sound underway, Bobby wants to see - the baby is turned away so the sex can't be determined. Now looking at the monitor, Brit and Bobby are in awe: amazing - incredible. The baby turns: is that...? Brit asks. Bobby glows: we're gonna have a boy. Our son! Our Joshua, they kiss, then look happily at the screen.
You look like one happy fella, JT remarks as Bobby takes his post behind the bar. He proudly shows them the ultra sound photo. So cool, Mac marvels. Looks like a frog, JT wisecracks. It's a boy, Bobby boasts. What a thrill - especially after the funeral. When both look puzzled, he updates them that Cassie passed away. Both are almost speechless. Mac wants to spend some time alone - you go ahead. JT gives her a sweet kiss: I care about you Mac. I'll be fine, she assures.
Ang later pays a visit to the club bar and wonders if he's forgotten how the old crowd works - you ticked Vinnie off. Bobby doesn't want to raise his kids that way. He's not just one guy - he's part of a whole picture, Ang warns. He can threaten all he wants - at the end of the day, what's he gonna do? Bobby says unconcerned. I worry bout ya Bobby, I reallly do, Ang says as he exits.
At home, Brit contemplates the mysterious baby blanket - then answers a knock at the door. Looking out into the hallway, she sees no one - but picks up a beautifully wrapped gift off the floor and looks at it suspiciously.
The Disappearing Daniel
DA Glenn Richards and Detective Webber accost Chris at the athletic club: Will your client be in court tomorrow? He's out on bail - free to go where he likes, Chris frowns. You danced around the issue of his whereabouts before - he better show - or forfeit his bond. Damn it Daniel - where are you? Chris worries to herself.
Lily's on the treadmill when Malcolm walks over to explain how dangerous it could be for her to help Daniel. This is no game - he might not be the only one going to jail. You have to get real - the police will find him - and come down on both of you, Malcolm warns. You're trying to scare me, Lily's says defiantly. It's MY problem - not yours. NO - You ARE my problem. How will I feel if you go to jail. Don't betray me, Lily asks when Phyllis arrives: Lily I need to talk to you.
When Lily tries to flee, Malcolm asks Phyllis for a moment alone with her. Fine - but then it's my turn. He agrees to keep Lily's secret IF she'll go and talk some sense into Daniel. I won't let you ruin your life. Thank you - you're the only one I can trust, Lily gushes: Please don't let me down. Seeing Lily leave, Phyllis tries to go after her - but is stopped by Malcolm. What did she tell you?? Believe her and let it go, Malcolm asks of Phyllis. My son is missing and due in court tomorrow - don't tell me to let it go! Maclolm tells her to keep it down (you want all these poeple knowing your business? They walk off to a private corner. Phyllis confesses: I did something today - my intentions were good - I went to Cassie's service and Nick threw me out of the church. I've never seen him so angry. I wanted to pay my respects. You've been going through hell, Maclolm realizes. A girl is dead - my son's responsible. I've lost my home - probably my job - and my son. There's NO way he won't go to prison. This is MY fault. What kind of mother does this make me?! You love him - he's lucky to have you - it's NOT your fault, Malcolm comforts: Kids make bad choices. Phyllis gives him a hug - thank you for trying to lift my spirits. I just keep picturing my son in prison - it can't happen - and now he's taken off. I want my son. I need to find him - I need to hold him and tell him everything will be OK - I just want my son!!, she sobs on his shoulder.
Looking bored in the hideaway, Daniel finds an old tape player and lpugs it in. To an old 80's hit, he flashes back to kissing Lily (who arrives on cue and wonders what he's doing). When he shows her the old tape player he found, Lily recognizes the song (I Wanna Know What Love Is). He wonders what they'd be doing if the accident never happened. Lily thinks she'd be wishing he'd ask her to Prom - sounds stupid. You're not a Prom kinda guy. Corny stuff sounds good right about now - he'd give anything to be able to make that happen. When he asks her to dance, they hold one another closely. Daniel then shuts the music off - there's something we can't avoid talking about - how long do you think I can hide here? I have to move on. It's getting risky - if they find me, you know what will happen. They'll throw away the key. I'm really glad you're here - almost makes me forget the bad stuff in my life. I wish we could be like this forever - just you and me. An emotional and speechless Lily again falls into his arms.
Haunted Mansion
Gloria checks the stereo: good Kevin took the CD. She hopes the plan to get rid of Geeta works.
Meanwhile, in the study, Geeta tells Kevin about the strange, eerie, voices. Kevin suggests there's a logical explanation - but Geeta insists: They're spirits - from the other world. They exist - and are inhabiting this house. Most people would think her crazy - but her culture accepts voices from beyond. Kevin thinks it must be hard living in this house - wish I could help. You ARE by keeping me company, Geeta replies. Having spent time with you - you're not at all what I expected. I'm not as bad as everyone told you I was - they all hate me, Kevin whines. I don't hate you, Geeta smiles. I think you're nice. He thinks she's pretty cool too. Geeta admits she's been feeling down lately. I'm lonely - for a man. It's been such a long time since I had someone special. No - she's never married - and pretty well given up - thinking men are only out for themselves - but you're different - like opening a window in an attic and letting the fresh air and sunshine in. Kevin laps it all up with a smile - yeah? that's how I make you feel? He confides that the girl he likes is in love with someone else. Geeta thinks he'll bounce back. Kevin doubts that as he has a hard time making friends - as he's one part shy - one part misunderstood. Geeta gives him a kiss: you don't seem shy to me......
John walks in the front door and with a sad sigh makes his way to the living room. You're back - poor thing, Gloria fusses: You look exhausted. How about a cup of tea? John just wants to sit a while. It's hard saying bye to someone so young, Gloria empathizes: I should have been there. John relays how devastated the Newman's are. Times like this, you bond over what you have in common - what really matters. Family, Gloria says as she splaces a hand over his and squeezes it with an encourages smile (as John does not remove her hand). Speaking of family - has your son made any wedding plans? he wonders - then winces in pain. Gloria thinks he needs a massage. Geeta has been a Godsend to me, John praises: where is she???
Back in the study, Kevin places his hands on Geeta's waist and kisses her back... Geeta - are you in there? John bellows - his hand's on the door knob.
My Thoughts
Today's show rates an 8.5... If ONLY the Abbot hideaway included a shower. Daniel's starting to look a bit greasy. At least in jail, he'll get hosed down and deloused every few days..... How is it possible that neither JT or Mac knew that Cassie had died? They must be the only two who don't know. You'd think Kay might have mentioned it to her - she managed to let Ester know..... And what was the point of working out if you're just gonna belly up to the bar for cheesecake and chocolate mousse cake? That's like ordering the King Sized combo - with a diet soda .... OK - I'm bored with JT and Mac - their 'humorour' banter with the sexual undertones is not amusing at all - and when did Mac become such a ...hmmm... (what do you get when you cross a Cocker Spaniel with a Maltese?) .... Oh for crying out loud - how long HAS it been for Geeta? Seducing strange (and I DO mean strange) little boys in her employers study - and since she's supposedly staying in the pool/guest house, why wouldn't seh take Kevin there? ... Not since Dumb and Dumber have we seen such a team as Hank Webber and DA Glen Richards. Just think - Webber can make an ass of himself investigating the wrong suspects - and Richards can make an even bigger ass of himself trying to prosecute em.
For those who were members of the message boards - and therefore, no doubt, a friend of 'Leafy's' - Amy Kay has created a very touching tribute. http://dump.grendosa.com/Leafy.wmv . Just added: my own eulogy or sorts. My thoughts: From the heart - Leafy.
Next: John complains to Gloria: Kevin is pushing the limits... Mike's seated across from the ever grinning Terrible Tom: What will it take to get you to leave town? Whatever it is, you ain't got it, Tom answers.... Nick's frustrated: I wish to God I could help you. Sharon's even more frustrated: And I wish I could help YOU - if you could at least let me try....
