Disappearing Daniel
Where is he? Nick demands to know of Chris and Phyllis. No - you're not going anywhere. Chris knows Nick's angry but nothing will be helped by hurting someone else. You don't know what I'm feeling. WHERE is my daughter's murderer, Nick snarls. You think I'd let you anywhere near my son? Phyllis says quietly. Nothing good will come of it - if you lose control..... I can't believe you have the audacity to call yourself my friend, Nick balks: I thought you loved Cassie - but you're an ambulance chaser. I loved Cassie, Chris states: but I love Daniel too. Don't ask me to abandon a boy who's like a son to me. You don't know what it's like to have your life's blood ripped away from you - I never thought I could kill someone, but now I'm not so sure, Nick rants: I want Daniel to pay - and I want you to feel what I'm feeling (he says to Phyllis). Never to hold your child again. He won't be dead. There's no amount of punishment adequate - within the law. I feel helpless - I want answers to my questions. Daniel barely knew her, Phyllis says. He had no idea Cassie had a crush on him. Nick barks: makes it sound like Cassie was obsessed with him. What did he say to get her in the car. If I knew where he was I wouldn't tell you, Phyllis claims: I don't know where my son is - I hope to God he keeps on running. He's afraid to go to prison. Nick understands what it's like to be a rich kid in prison - only after he spends a few years in maximum security prison will Nick have any sympathy. Ruining his life won't bring Cassie back. It'll make me feel better, Nick argues. Chris hopes he's not going to take the law into his own hands. Nick suggests they step up their search - I'm sure he'd rather see your faces before mine. And while this coward who's like a son to you is running - think about MY child - in the ground. After he leaves, Phyllis realizes: we have to find him before Nick does....

Lily tells Malcolm that Daniel's fine - but won't reveal where he is. What's your plan? Malcolm asks: He'll survive off your sandwiches for the rest of his life? The police will catch up with you - it's a matter of when. I'm concerned for you. What will you do when it comes to an end. Once they catch him, Daniel will be locked up. You're holding onto a fantasy that's not real. Lily will be there as much as she can - I'll visit, call - write every day. Put your life on hold for this kid? Malcolm balks. You'll have nothing to look forward to but visiting day at Walworth? Stop and look at the bigger picture. Find something else to focus on besides a boyfriend who's going to jail. He needs me, Lily whines - but admits Daniel never wanted her involved in the first place. Keep living your life, Malcolm encourages. Nothing will be accomplished by ruining one more life - tell me I don't have to worry about you. Lily gives him a kiss: I never thought about it like that. Thank you for your concern. I'll be OK, she says as she leaves.

In the hideaway, Lily complains to Daniel that Malcolm is talking to her like a kid with a crush. I won't stop helping you. Maybe they won't find you guilty. Let's be realistic - I'm going to prison, Daniel clarifies. You need to stop pretending and say good bye. Forget about me. Lily refuses: you could get the minimum - or get out early for good behaviour. What do we do? Daniel needs to get as far from GC as he can - and never look back. Lily insists on helping him get out of town - you need me. OK, he agrees - but then you come back here. I guess this is it - our last night together, Lily realizes. I'll miss you, he replies. That's how you can remember me - the guy who ruined your life and never even took you out for pizza. No - she'll remember him as the first boy who cared about her. Things will never be over between us. Let's pretend we're just a normal couple. Out by the lake, Daniel continues.... It's warm and the stars are shining - we can take a walk by the water, just the two of us. They kiss - then cuddle.

Malcolm In The Middle
Kay visits Jill again - this time with advice. She has the name of a terrific photographer. Here's her work. Wow - these are elegant, sophisticated, but Jill declines: I have somebody even better for the job; Malcolm Winters. He's interested, believe me, Jill assures - but admits it he told her No (if not a firm No). He understands the Jabot image because he created it. He's the one to take us into the future - but retain our history. I'll make him an offer he can't refuse - give him carte blanche. He won't be able to turn it down. If artistic freedom doesn't work - I'll double his rate. Kay finds her confidence very refreshing. Jill credits her - I'm exhilarated. One more thing - support me. I'm trying to move Mount Everest. Then, Mount Everest better get packing, Kay chuckles.

Still at the office, Jill gets a surprise visit from Malcolm (who wonders if she's still in the market for a photographer) - one condition - hire my niece Lily to model for the teen line. Has she done any professional modeling before? Jill asks. Malcolm shows her the photos he took a few months ago - she's a natural. Dru will understand, it's a great opportunity. You're asking me to risk a whole division to raise the spirits of a teenager. All right - - but I want to see a test shoot. Malcolm has a coupla ideas about colour saturation. It's good to have you back where you belong, Jill smiles back.

Gettin' Steamed
Well, well - the man of leisure, a towel clad Paul greets a towel clad Brad (who whines about having to share the steam room). I have plenty to keep me busy - following promising stocks. Plus, I'm a Dad. It's exhausting. She's with Ashley tonight. How's Ashley? Paul asks, then announces they've kinda been dating - for a couple of months. Maybe I shouldn't get my hopes up since she hasn't mentioned it, Paul laughs. Brad's glad it's someone like him. Treat her right or you'll answer to me. Paul states he has competition - a new guy in town. He seems to be a strange type for her to be hanging with. How do I say this - he's really down to earth. I get a weird vibe from the guy. They went smelt fishing? Fishing? Ashley? You must be kidding, Brad jokes: Amazing. Listen Paul, for the record. Ash can be a little fragile at times. He appreciates that Paul's watching out for her. After what happened to Cassie, Brad just wants to focus on being a Dad. He feels for Victor (whom he's been getting along with). Paul now wants to discuss HIS love life. Brad smiles: you're spending too much time alone, he says as he walks out.

Ashley tells Abby she'll be coming to spend a lot more time with her. We're still a family. Abby likes it better when they all used to live together. What if I die? Like Cassie? she asks. Ashley assures she won't die - and doesn't want her to worry about it. She and her Dad will keep her safe. Cassie wasn't wearing her seatbelt. Victor is Cassie's grandfather - poor Victor, Abby continues: He must be really sad. Can you tell him I'm sorry? You could always tell him yourself... On cue, Brad interrupts - Abby runs and leaps into his arms, then runs up to bed with a hug for Mommy - and leaves them alone. She's not real subtle - wants her parents back together, they agree. Brad relays he ran into Paul - and wonders when she was going to tell him about her new beau. Since when is my love life your business? Ash wonders. Brad makes it clear he was teasing - he knew they wouldn't stay single forever. As long as it's a good influence on Abby, he's happy for her. Ash reports Abby has questions about Cassie's death. Look what that sweet little thing drew, Ash says as she holds up a drawing of the three of them.

Exorcising Geeta
On the heels of a blood curdling scream, Geeta flies down the stairs: I'm sorry Mr Abbott, but I must resign. John tries to coerce her to stay - there's nothing you or anyone can do to stop me, she babbles: You're a lovely man - good luck. She knows why he fell down the stairs - the house is filled with restless spirits. I fear for you. Be careful, she runs out. Kevin watches from upstairs - and gives his Mom a smug little smile and wave. Gloria and John discuss the seemingly intelligent Geeta believing in ghosts - something terrified her. What a shame to lose her. Gloria can help him with his exercises. John goes up to bed - we'll talk about it in the morning. Gloria agrees, then after he goes upstairs, sits and waits for Kevin to join her (looking mighty proud of himself). How did you do it? she asks. Kevin's evasive - You asked me to get rid of her and I did. He turns back around to reveal a mouth full of fangs.

My Thoughts
Today's show rates a 7.5 ... See!? What I tell ya? Lily - new Glow Kid (will the perfectly presentable, if not a bit ordinary, Devon and Sierra come along for the ride I wonder?) .... How can Paul sit there and listen to Brad ramble on about being a Dad - and not mention his son, Ricky, whom he hasn't seen since infancy!? ... Now Phyllis says ruining Daniel's life won't bring Cassie back. Still true - but once again - crime has to be punished (wonder if he'll eat crow once it's discovered Cassie was driving - sans seatbelt) .... Let's hope Phyllis gets a job shooting the Glow Kid summer campaign for the Internet (cause safe to say her job at NE has been eliminated) ..... Paul thinks Tom seems 'down to earth'? How far down? beneath a rock? lower than a snake's belly? .... And where exactly is Geeta running off to? She has no friends - no family. The least she could do is give 2 weeks notice.

Next: But she's not just your niece, is she? Phyllis says to Malcolm .... An agitated Lily shouts at Daniel: the police are looking for you - They have a warrant!! .... Sharon stands by as Nick vows: If he thinks he's going to escape justice - or me, he has another thing coming ...

For those who were members of the message boards - and therefore, no doubt, a friend of 'Leafy's' - Amy Kay has created a very touching tribute. http://dump.grendosa.com/Leafy.wmv . Just added: my own eulogy or sorts. My thoughts: From the heart - Leafy.
