Virgin On The Verge
JT unbuttons Mac's top. With her down to her tank top, she unbuttons his shirt. We don't have to do this, he whispers. I want to, Mac replies. You sure? JT confirms as they kiss, then stand. Someone knocks insistently at the door. I should get that, JT decides. Outside, Paul demands he open up - it's important, he blurts out once the door opens. Daniel jumped bail. Lily Winters called him - he's in town. She's aiding and abetting a fugitive. You know the crowd. Find out where he's hiding. Sorry for the interruption, he tells Mac. Stay in touch. Mac puts her top back on. We'll have another chance, JT assures. Not that Daniel will be so lucky, she replies.
About A Boy
Chris is on the phone: We know he's still in GC.... She turns to see Nick scowling: what are you doing here? she asks. What the hell do you think? he barks back: You better hope you get your hands on him before I do.
Over at the coffee house, Phyllis asks Malcolm where Lily is: You know! You're not a good liar. Malcolm admits she was supposed to be back in 15 minutes - from seeing Daniel.
At the hideaway, Daniel has all his stuff in his bag: you're going to drop me off 1 hour from town, then come right back. Promise me! Lily won't drop him off on the side of the highway. No way you're going on the run by yourself. How will you get around? Where will you stay? You need me with you, she insists. Daniel won't ask her to live like this. If anything happened to you... Your Uncle gave you 15 minutes. What if he tells your parents... I better not be in GC when he does, Lily interrupts: I'll have no one I can trust. I won't lose you, Lily clings to Daniel.
Chris assures Nick that they're using all their resources to find Daniel. The best thing you can do is let us handle it. Vigilante justice won't help. I won't defend his actions. He's made things worse - he'll get the maximum sentence now. Where the hell is he? Nick repeats. Be with your family - let the police find Daniel, Chris maintains: Don't inject yourself. How's Sharon - shouldn't you be by her side? She needs justice too, Nick claims. While you defend this murderer, who's protecting my little girl? Me! Chris reminds that Cassie defended Daniel with her dying breath. Why would she do that? She had a crush on him - wanted to save face, Nick explains. What more could there be? I want to find out what happened that night too - why she got in that car. I want the boy who killed her to pay. You want to defend that coward, you should be ashamed of yourself.
Later, with Paul, Chris knows Nick needs to lash out - and Paul understands that Daniel's doing the only thing that feels safe. Mike enters: any word on Daniel? No - it's like he vanished into thin air. Phyllis is furious - you knew where he was the whole time. Malcolm denies it. I do know Lily's been seeing him. He likely knows there's a warrant for his arrest. I told her - Daniel has to turn himself in. And she's not here - what if they took off? Not Lily. She knows better than that, Malcolm is sure. His cell rings: it's Lily.
Who's that? Lily asks. It's Phyllis and she's worried sick about her son, Malcolm replies. The police are looking for him. Phyllis grabs the phone - put my son on the phone!!! Daniel - listen - how are you? I've been terrified. Tell me where you are. Daniel can't - I'm safe. No - you're not. The police are looking for you. Your face will be on every post office wall in the country. Listen to me! I know you're frightened. But you can't run. As much as it kills me - you in jail, I can't bear the thought of never seeing you again. I have nothing without you - please come home. You're my baby. I promise I will stand beside you. I love you Mom, Daniel cries as the phone starts to cut out: Mom! Mom! I lost reception, he tells Lily. I know what I have to do now. Without a word, Lily gives him a hug.
JT chats to Malcolm at CL's. How long have they been seeing each other? He's updated that Dru and Phyllis hit the roof. If my son stayed away from her, he wouldn't be in this mess, Phyllis adds. They were forbidden from seeing each other. Yeah - they were, Phyllis admits. As Malcolm goes on about that making them feel like it's them against the world, JT has an idea - I think I know where they are. Malcolm stops Phyllis: Let them go.
Whatever I do, people I care about will suffer, Daniel mopes. Lily can't stand the thought of being away from him. Daniel doesn't want her arrested and has to stop thinking of himself. When Lily answers her cell, Malcolm apologizes for laying into her. I'm scared for you. Anything I can do to help? You'll actually help us? Lily's surprised. We need money and a cover story - Daniel needs to get out of GC. Stay where you are - I'll buy you some more time, Malcolm agrees.
Lily happily reports to Daniel.
Ho By Jabot
John updates Ashley that Geeta resigned. She was terrified of our home. That's ridiculous - what's there to be terrified of? Ash wonders, as Gloria breezes in. How did you do it? The woman was unbalanced, Gloria decides. John backs her up: she believed the house was haunted. Gloria claims to be sorry - the last thing I want is a set back in John's therapy. He groans in pain. Stay out of the way, she barks at Ash as she tends to John. How did you learn to do that? he asks. I told you I was determined to learn how to take care of my husband. Shall we try another one? As she works on his leg, John's impressed. Gloria studied Geeta's massage techniques. I don't have the training - but a loving touch. All the education in the world can't replace that. It means a lot to John. You know how I feel about you John, she smiles. I hope we can do this every day until you can dance the night away. If you'll dance with me, he replies: I'd like to take you to dinner. Gloria thinks that would be wonderful. As John goes upstairs to get ready, Gloria pours a glass of wine. Ashley watches: you're so transparent. And you are a cold, selfish woman, Gloria answers. Geeta's gone and I'm back in your father's good graces. You're more interested in getting rid of me than your father's health, she accuses. You'll mess everything up again, Ash is sure. Who'd want to be with an ice queen like you. You'd be surprised, Ash cracks.
Tom calls - join me for dinner. At the club. Ash agrees - in an hour. Gloria grins - the ice Queen has a lover. Ash sneers at her.
Your credit has been cut off, Gina has to inform Tom. As Tom looks embarrassed, Mike materializes: I'll be happy to take care of this gentleman's last meal here. Tom hands cash to Gina - let's give Mr Baldwin his money back. Where'd you get all that money? Mike asks, noting he looks dapper. Playing the ponies? Blackjack? Tom doesn't need Mike's money and won't be leaving GC - I like the people,. You use people - who are you inflicting yourself on? Mike wonders. There IS an attractive lady, Tom admits - and he wants a fresh start with his family. Time to kiss and make up. Cold snowy day in hell, Mike growls as Gina returns with his change - which Tom declines. Congratulations on your engagement, Gina smiles: I hope you and Lauren will be very happy. A wedding, Tom says once she's gone: perfect occasion for family to get together - can I be your best man? You won't be on the guest list, Mike assures. Tom refuses to leave town. Nothing in my way. You got friends in high places; judges and cops - but no proof? Man's free until proven guilty. Mike thinks he should have been put away a long time ago. Stay away form Kevin and Gloria, he warns. Tom just wants her to be happy. I don't want her marriage to fail. Mike doubts his good intentions- what is it you want? What are you after? Tom leans forward: You listen to me - I'll stay in this town as long as I like. Get used to it. Tom won't be scared of Mike. No hard feelings. I wish you and your bride to be a long happy life. Make yourself scarce - I have personal business to attend to. You're not a member or guest here - your free ride is over Tom. When Mike's cell rings, he reluctantly moves off. Tom's on the phone: It's becoming a bit of a problem - I'm not about to rush things - keep taking it nice and slow and easy....
Who's brave enough to ask the ice Queen out on a date. Come on You're such a conniving bitch, Ash snarls. A good man is exactly what you need, Gloria thinks. Ash walks out - saying bye to her Dad on her way out. Gloria glows - she's going to meet someone; A date. John thinks that 'lovely', where would you like to have dinner. The athletic club, Gloria suggests: it could turn out to be a very intriguing evening.
Back To The Boy
Nick arrives home and reads a card from a bouquet of flowers (one of many). He hurls the vase at the front door - then smashes another - and another - another. He's about to smash the chair when he sees Cassie photo shattered on the ground. He picks it up and pauses. Sadly, he sits and holds it to his chest.
Back at Crimson Lights, Phyllis and Malcolm continue to fret - it's a mess. Maybe he'll get leniency - who am I kidding? They're gonna throw the book at my son - the only way the Newman's will get revenge - closure. They'll still never know what Cassie was trying to tell Daniel the day she collapsed here. That's why she left the hospital - she had something to tell him but never got it out. Phyllis is curious: you have no idea? Something that might help him? Malcolm doesn't know - she was delirious. We may never know.
JT (with Mac) bangs on the hideaway door: Romalotti - open up. I know you're in there. Now inside, JT picks up a water bottle - sandwich remains. Someone has been here.
Lily calls Malcolm from her car - thanks for all your good advice - see you soon. How did you know it was a trap? Daniel asks from the back after she hangs up. JT drove right past us - I guess we got lucky. Hearing sirens, Lily barks at Daniel: get down! My Thoughts
Today's show rates an 8... Sorry - must run - have a meeting to get to..
For those who were members of the message boards - and therefore, no doubt, a friend of 'Leafy's' - Amy Kay has created a very touching tribute. http://dump.grendosa.com/Leafy.wmv . Just added: my own eulogy or sorts. My thoughts: From the heart - Leafy.
