Da Club
Gina greets Nikki - Victor's not here yet, she states as she leads her to her table. Bobby's back behind the bar as Vic arrives and is shown over. Once seated, both Vic and Nikki hope Nick won't do something he'll regret for the rest of his life. Vic lets her know that Nick's using Newman resources. He understands his actions - and warned him not to take the law into his own hands. It could be disasterous. He can't be sure Nick 'really heard' him. Maybe Vic would react the same way. Nikki agrees; he gets his determination and passion from you - Vikki too. Runs in the genes. Abby is a precosious girl too. It was nice having her in the house. Reminds me of Vikki at that age; stubborn but sensitive. Vic wishes he saw more of the sensitive side of Victoria. Yeah, Nikki agrees. Of course she's upset about learning she has a half sister - she has every right.
Back at the Winter's condo, Dru updates Neil that Phyllis answered Lily's cell in someplace outside St Louis. Said she was 'hot on the trail' - then, hung up on me. You stay put, Neil orders - there's someone I need to see.
Neil arrives at the club and accosts Vic and Nikki - Pyllis has gone to St Lois, he confides. Nick too? he learns. I wonder if they met up - can't imagine them sharing information. Dru and I are feeling powerless. I need some time off. I know we're short handed but I'm imploring you - I need to bring my little girl home. After the grateful Neil leaves, Nikki asks: Do you really want to run the company alone again? Vic won't be alone, he'll have Vikki to run it with him.
Left alone and frustrated, Dru picks up and cradles Lily's photo. Malcolm watches, then tries to tell her that Devon's going through a lot too.. Dru cuts him off - and won't give him any info on Lily. Malcolm's frustrated too: I understand and relate - it's also MY child missing! he reminds her. I know you want to help - but I can't let you, Dru wails. I'm going through it too - I feel more responsible than anybody, Malcolm whines. You should, Dru replies: Go away and leave us alone. Malcolm brushes past the returning Neil. Hey! - Neil calls after him. What's his problem? he wonders. I got some time off and am headed to St Lois, he announces. Nick's there too - let's hope the police find them before he does. Dru wants to go - I'm no good to Devon or anyone else. He needs you, Neil stresses: I'll find her and bring her home safely, he promises: I love you. Dru's left alone to fret.
Dueling Daughters
Hello Victoria - here to see my brother? Ash opens the door to Vikki. No - you, she snarls back - about your sick, obsessive attachment to my father. Of course it has to do with Abby - it can't be just a biological fact. You orchestrated the whole thing. You went to any lengths to have my father's child. Ash explains she never wanted the truth to come out. Vikki doesn't buy that (or that Ash now accepts she'll never have a relationship with Victor). This is not an evil plot. While Vikki finds it pathetic, Ash won't apologize for her daughter's existence. Brad's a good father - but that wasn't enough for you, Vikki continues. Ash announces it's none of her business. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't keep it a secret. That's what tore us apart. Vikki adds: Brad agrees with me - there's always been a 3rd party in your marriage; my father. You insinuate that child into my father's life. Ash confides the visit was Nikki's idea. Vikki can understand that: she puts my father's needs before her own. YOU took advantage of that. Keep your distance! Wod do you think you are? I'm gonna listen to you!? Ash balks: It was Abby's idea. I thought it'd bring something postive to his life - did you see his face? He loves her you know. I get it - I know what this is about, Ash realizes. You have to share your exclusive place as Daddy's little girl. On cue, Vikki gets a call: That was my father - he needs me. Now more than ever. Oh boy, Ash sighs as Vikki marches out.
Brad later arrives - he wasn't thrilled by what he walked in on yesterday. Vikk wasn't either, Ash unpdates. I don't blame her Ash, Brad replies: what the hell were you thinking taking Abby over there!? I thought Abby washed her hands of Victor since the riding accident - how could you do this? It was spurr of the moment, Ash claims. She's been asking questions aboout Victor since Cassie's death - it was her idea.
Back at the club, Bobby won't talk to Vinnie about his public spat with Britney - or consider him his 'partner'. Vinnie knew the coffin would do the trick. You're sick in the head - get out of here before you get me fired, Bobby warns. Vinnie persists; give me the details. She didn't like the gifts? She gets the message, right Bob? He doesn't want to talk about her. Hit a rough patch? Vinnie continues. Bobby doesn't want to talk about the lying little bitch. Since when do you care about my personal problems? Vinnie has a motive: You might slip up on the job - I'm sure you and Princess will work it out - can't be that bad. Bobby reaches across the bar, snatches Vinnie by the lapels, and growls in his face. Everything all right? Nikki asks pointedly. And who might this lovely lady be? Vinnie asks. Nikki looks down her nose and purses her lips: I'm Mrs Victor Newman. After Vinnie makes a hasty getaway, Nikki notes it seemed like an intense conversation - who is he? Nikki wonders if the Marsino's are having problems. Brit came to see me - she's concerned about some anonymous gifts - she's worried. It's all been settled, Bobby lies: they were from some guy I knew when I was running the club. No - not this guy - I straightened it out. Nikki guesses he's trying to change the subject. You don't seem yourself - what's wrong? Is it Brit? The baby? No - not what you think - don't worry, BObby answers. How can I not worry? Nikki asks: You're acting so strange. Bobby asks her to stay out of it. Sure, she agrees, but call if you feel like talking.
Joining her father, Vikki gets the low down: Nick is out of town - I hope he doesn't do something stupid. I want you to assume his responisbilities at NE. Now? Vikki hasn't changed her mind - and 'lays it out there' - I want this now more than ever. I'm having a hard time adjusting to the fact that my father has another daughter. No one was more surprised than I was, Vic explains: we can't deny Abby's existence. I was touched by her visit yesterday. Vikki gets it: she's a wonderful little girl but she knows Brad as her only father. You're my only daughter, Vic assures: I love you fromthe bottom of my heart. Thanks, Vikki smiles: I needed to hear that. Vic has no plans to interfere with Brad and Abby. But Vikki worries that Ashley will use the child to get to him. Vic points out their family is in crisis - I need you to give 110%. How about 150% Vikki offers with a hug.
Shaky Alliance
At a roadside diner, Phyllis is pessimistic: the bus station was a dead end. Nick disagrees - someone recognized Lily. But the buses were headed in all directions, Phyllis points out. Nick's sure he'll head them off. It's time for you to go home - from this point on I do this alone. Not able to trust her, Nick let her know he had her phone tapped. That's illegal, Phyllis points out. Nikc shrugs it off: I lost the most precious thing in my life - you'd rather hide the person responsible than let him take responsibility for his actions. Not true - my heart aches for you, Phyllsi corrects. Nick furrows his unibrow: Save your sympathy act - I'm not buying it. I don't need your help. Phyllis dsagreesL I'm the only one keeping him in check - getting revenge on my son won't bring her back. How dare you tell me how to handle my grief, Nick fumes. I'll make sure he pays for this, Nick vows as the goes to pay the tab. Phyllis answers her cell: Danny - have you heard anything?? Good - I'm listening.
Phyllis thanks Danny - this is great. I'll call you when I find him. Nick noticed she was on the cell phone. Phyllis is forthcoming: He tried to contact a musician friend in LA. Yeah - he has a name and a number. You didn't have tot ell me, Nick's grudgingly impressed. No - I didn't have to tell you but we're in this together, Phyllis replies. Nick will call Wally from the car and have him schedule a flight to LA.
The Honeymoon's Over
As JT again plays Mac her new favourite song, she relives his sappy words - and kiss. You're good for a guy's ego, he smiles - then kisses her. Brit barges in: thank God you're here. I need to talk to you. It's important. I need to talk to JT - in private. Yes I mind - I live here, Mac sulks. This is really important, Brit whines. Whatever you have to say to me, you can say in front of Mac, JT says boldly. No - this is private. OK, I'll go - to 'our' room, Mac nuzzles him. No - I need you to leave, Brit insists. You're kicking me out of my own home? Mac balks - but with a kiss, decides to go out to the store. JT's let's it be known that he's not thrilled with the way she treated Mac. This better be life and death. Trust me - it is.
JT waves his arms about: This is unbelieveable - damn it - the timing sucks. Mac's the best thing that's happened to me. This is real. How am I gonna handle this? Mac returns with a bag of groceries, to find Brit near tears. I need to talk to Mac, JT says. I can trust you JT - do the right thing, Brit sasy as she hurries out. Now alone, Mac questions JT: What does she mean? Britney just told me something, JT begins: Yeah, it's serious. Mac reminds him - there are no secrets between us - remember? I don't even know how to say this - the baby she's carrying isn't Bobby's - it's mine.
My Thoughts
Today's show rates a 9... Hmm.... I don't recall JT and Brit sleeping together around the time the baby was conceived - I'm guessing (along with many others) that this is a ruse concocted by Brit and Bobby - and now a reluctant JT - to distance Bobby from Brit and the baby - to keep them safe from the mob. Makes sense, I suppose - though if JT had any cajones, he'd have only agreed if Mac was in the know. Now, Brit and baby may be safe from the mob, but JT's left to feel the wrath of Grandma Kay - and Brit's collicky baby ... Well, at least it'll shut the lovestruck Mac up.... How long will it be before someone overhears Malcolm and Dru discussing him being Lily's father? Just when ya think things can't get any worse for the Winter's .... Nick had Phyllis' phone tapped? Nice - does she need any more reasons to jump ship to Jabot??
Next: Mike smiles at Lauren: I see the ring's back on.. I'll never take it off again, Lauren promises. Mac's horrified: You're having a baby together - how am I supposed to fit into that!? ....Jack would like to 'just talk' to Vikki. She twirls her hair: I may just take you up on that....

For those who were members of the message boards - and therefore, no doubt, a friend of 'Leafy's' - Amy Kay has created a very touching tribute. http://dump.grendosa.com/Leafy.wmv . Just added: my own eulogy or sorts. My thoughts: From the heart - Leafy.
