Death of A Dysfunctional Daddy
After an extensive search, Mike has found no divorce decree filed in the state of Michigan. Is this some sick joke!? Gloria is horrified: Dear God - does that mean Am I Mrs John Abbott? It's legitimate as you entered into it in good faith, Mike answers. What if Tom shows up? she frets. Protect yourself. Have Tom Fisher declared legally dead, Mike advises. What makes you think he's alive? she wonders. I'd know if he died. It's been 10 years - you think he'd go this long without harassing you if he were alive? Mike persuades: It's important you think he's dead and go on record with this - in case anyone wonders. Like John you mean? No - this could ruin everything. Mike continues: why wouldn't you believe he's dead? Make it official. Gloria agrees - fine. Draw up the papers. Mike can't be involved. Conflict of interest. Can't you break the rules? Kevin asks. Mike refuses - look someone up in the phone book - start tomorrow. Is it that urgent? Kevin doesn't think Mike would tell her to do this if it wasn't. Don't mention my name to whomever you hire. It'll take several weeks - tell your new lawyer to put it on the fast track. Don't be frightened - just do it! Mike orders.

More Fish Stories
Meanwhile, Tom and Lauren chat at the club bar. That necklace did the trick, Lauren informs him - Ashley's captivated. Tom notices her ring - engaged? You don't look like the white picket fence type. Looks can be deceiving, Lauren smiles as she explains she just got back from LA - brought back some pieces Ashley would like. You should stop by the boutique. Tom guesses she wasn't just there for business. Why so interested in my personal life? Lauren wonders. Tom apologizes: I was just trying to be friendly.

Wasn't that great seeing Noah smiling - playing ball. Vic hopes to be just as proud of Vikki. Nikki's distracted - I was hoping Bobby was working tonight - he and Brit are having problems. It's very serious. Bobby's very upset with Brit - almost as if she betrayed him. It's none of our business, Vic believes. Nikki wants to help - they have no one else. That's the only reason? Vic asks. Or, are you using Bobby's problems to distract you from your own?

Lauren takes the impressed Tom over to meet the Newman's: Tom Callahan. I've heard a lot about you Sir - must be a trip hanging around Trump - Bill Gates. Vic congratulates Lauren: Michael seems very happy. Lauren chuckles: You're the only two who don't think I've lost my mind. Pay no attention, Nikki encourages as she asks to see the ring. Exquisite, she admires. Nice to meet you, the bid farewells. Back at the bar, Tom's thrilled with his brush with greatness. You have something in common, Lauren informs him: Ashley Abbott - he was once married to her. Tom's again surprised - and takes his leave.

Nikki gives Vic a kiss - I have things to take care of (and leaves Vic looking puzzled). When Lauren briefly joins Vic - he would love to be invited to the wedding. Vic then stops by the bar and hears Bobby's marriage is deader than a doornail - If there's anything I can do, let me know, Vic offers as he leaves. Gloria orders a scotch - straight up. Rough day? Bobby asks. The pits, she answers: cheers. She calls Lauren over: Have a drink with me. You know - when I saw you all alone I realized I never met your family. Lauren fills in the details: Her mother lives in Europe. I doubt she'd want to be involved with the wedding - they divorced - my father died a long time ago. I haven't told her about the wedding - but she'll want to come. Gloria confides she just got disturbing news from Michael. If I don't play my cards right, it could ruin my life. I hope Tom Fisher is dead - burning in hell.

Tom appears at Mike's office - thanks for keeping your mouth shut. Mike threatens to call security. Another empty threat, Tom taunts. You didn't bust me. Same coward as when you were a kid. Mike has his reasons - and can't see what Ashley sees in Tom. She enjoyed her ride on the motorcycle. Women are used to being wined and dined. So, she's slumming, Mike concludes. If I'm not good enough for the Abbotts, where does that put Gloria? Tom has to ask: How will John feel when he learns about me? You're dating Ash to get to Gloria? Tom denies this: She's' an amazing woman - not like your trashy woman. You suddenly morphed into a prince, Mike scoffs - Ashley will dump you - It'll be good to see a woman put you in your place. Who knows - You may not be the only one hearing wedding bells this year, Tom grins.

You think you have a chance with Ashley Abbott? Mike is incredulous. She finds me fascinating, Tom insists. Mike chuckles - I have a proposition. Pick someplace you've always wanted to live - one way ticket. You name the destination. He holds up a check for 5 thousand and one every month for 6 months - by then you'll have found a wonderful job. Ashley will dump you - it's just a matter of time. Tom laughs at 30 grand. Mike leans forward menacingly - don't be a fool - you're walking a tightrope - one misstep and you take a big fall. If Ashley finds out, Gloria can kiss her sweet little marriage good bye, Tom warns as he saunters out. Mike mutter to himself: After you're declared legally dead, who knows Tom Fisher - maybe I could get away with murder.

Pre Baby Blues
At CL's, Kay tries her hardest to cheer Mac up - you have to move on. Ester joins the pair, Kay wants her to see the positives: You put yourself out there. Mac thinks Brit planned it - she's selfish, mean and underhanded.

Bobby brings a box of baby stuff over to the loft. Brit's out running errands - she's going stir crazy and JT sure can't be expected to watch her every second. If we meet in public, you gotta pretend like you wanna rip my head off, Bobby reminds JT. How long is this gonna last? JT has to ask. This has to be done from the inside, Bobby insists. JT balks: It'll take years - everyone will think I'm a lowlife - my parents will freak out - and Mac's heart is broken. You have NO idea how you're gonna take these guys down? Make your move soon or I'm out! JT warns as Bobby slams out.

When Brit returns to the loft, JT complains that this looks like it will last a while. Brit's terrified of what will happen to her and the baby - but doesn't blame him if he wants out. JT understands she had no choice. I feel terrible, Brit whines - I hate doing this to you - you're the only one who's stood by me. JT won't bail on her. She gives him a hug: I'll never forget this. If we come out of this in one piece, I'll explain to Mac - and owe you for the rest of my life.

Arriving at the coffee house, Kevin sits with Mac - I know things are awkward but I need your advice. I'm worried Tom will hurt my mother. Mac thinks Gloria should be told he's in town. Ignorance is NOT bliss, she tells him. You and JT hit a rough patch? Kevin asks. That's the understatement of the century, she replies. Mac tears up - No, there's no chance she and JT can work things out. Kevin won't gloat - I still care about your feelings. He and Gita are over - she was only interested because she wanted a green card. I knew it was too good to be true. Some of us aren't meant to be in relationships, Mac pouts. Why are you giving Hellstrum so much power over you? Kevin wonders. She finds his pep talk amazing - you always find the optimistic point of view. You bring it out in me, Kevin smiles: The only thing he can control is his attitude. I hope you find a girl who realizes how great you are. Thanks, Kevin grins - that means a lot.

Kay chats with Bobby - I would like to wring her neck. She's a cruel human being - has always had it in for Mac. Bobby hasn't gotten as far as filing for divorce. Kay's heart goes out to him. Bobby wishes the baby was his - the only thing he can do is move on.

Nikki greets JT - can I come in for a minute? No one's at Britney and Bobby's - thought you might know where she is. Have you seen my shower gel? a robe clad Brit marches into the livingroom.

What are you doing showering in JT's bathroom? Nikki wants to know. No offence but it's none of your business, JT says before excusing himself to his room. JT is the father!? Is that why you didn't let him visit you in the hospital? Don't look so shocked, Brit sneers rudely. I wondered when you'd figure it out. Nikki think it seems too convenient.. Stop playing your little games and tell me what's going on. I've never been the monogamous type, Brit claims: Besides, you're not innocent - you pushed my into JT's arms. He's been great - the only one who supported me. Bobby couldn't throw me out fast enough. He's devastated, Nikki announces. He'll get over it, Brit shrugs. You're the same self centered little bitch you always were! Nikki accuses. I'm glad it's not Bobby's, Brit claims - everyone told me not to marry him - I'm glad it's over. If you see him tell him that. You did Bobby a favour - and YOU - the two of you deserve each other, Nikki addresses both Brit and JT. Now alone, JT's sorry she had to take that. Brit doesn't care what everyone believes. I'll die if anything happens to him.

Pipe Dreams
Sierra and Devon wander around the park - Devon guesses his mother's forgotten all about him. Hidden in the bushes a young black woman crouches - and watches. Sierra bets she hasn't. If she's an addict, all she cares about is getting high, Devon knows. It's getting late, Sierra prods. Devon declines a ride - I want to stay and do some thinking. Devon? Is that you? The haggard looking woman approaches. Mom? So tall - how old now? 15? 17, Devon corrects. You're so thin. What are you doing here? She likes it here - even sleeps there - looks at the stars at night. I study astronomy in school, Devon adds. The group home must have set you straight,s she assumes. He tells them about the Winters taking him in. They helped me out so much. Maybe I can do something for you. I don't need your help. I'm not sick I'm strung out - I'd only drag you down. Stay with the rich folks. I can still try help you, Mom. No - before you know it, you'll be right back into your old life. Devon pulls some money from his wallet - take this. I can't. You know how I'll spend it - don't come around here no more. Devon leaves the money and looking back sadly at his teary eyes Mom, walks away. She runs fingers through tangled, stringy hair and grabs the cash.

My Thoughts
Today's show rates an 8... So, now Vic hangs out with The Donald and Bill Gates? Talk about name dropping - perhaps Vic can run a show like the Apprentice to hire some executive talent (since all his seem to be running around after the fugitives) .... Devon's Mom really doesn't have a right to tell him not to come to the public park anymore - and if she's a drug addict, it's not likely that she's sleeping in the park AND watching the stars - she'd be nocturnal. Quite likely that she'll be cleaned up and pawned off on Malcolm (a la Keisha) .... Dru won't be too impressed to find out the allowance she's giving Devon is being used for his Mom's drug habit ... Shouldn't Devon have walked Sierra to her car at least? .... Has Tom not put it together that Lauren's marrying Michael - he knows she's marrying a lawyer named Mike - he knows Mike is getting married ... Mike? Murder? Oh say it ain 't so! And how long will it be before Gloria just bumps into Tom - they do frequent the same small list of places.

Next: JT assures Brit: There's no way I'm gonad turn my back on you and your baby....Brad tells Sharon: you don't really want Nick to stay away...If he's this obsessed, maybe it's for the best, she re plies.... On the beach, Daniel and Lily are dressed up as a banana and a strawberry: Daniel look!! Lily says. What is my Mom doing here!? Daniel wonders...

For those who were members of the message boards - and therefore, no doubt, a friend of 'Leafy's' - Amy Kay has created a very touching tribute. http://dump.grendosa.com/Leafy.wmv . Just added: my own eulogy or sorts. My thoughts: From the heart - Leafy.
