The Really Big Show
Buried in paperwork, Mike tries hard not to be distracted when Lauren drops by the office. After a kiss, they discuss the wedding. Mike's sure Gloria's planning him right into bankruptcy. When Lauren announces her son Scotty won't be at the wedding, Mike's stunned: Why wouldn't you want your son at our wedding? If you're not ashamed - I don't follow your logic. What's wrong with him? Is he in prison? No - he's a well adjusted young man, Lauren assures. Mike doesn't get it. You'll meet him - some day, she promises. But not on the most important day of my life, Mike sulks. Lauren leaves: don't pressure me on this - I mean it.
Nikki Noses Around
Nikki confronts Brit at the club. You and JT seem the happy couple - watching you together just now - you seem almost too happy. We're trying to make the best of it, Brit replies. Don't you have something better to do? Nikki feels there's something going on. Be careful Britney - that's all I have to say. Brit leaves: I'll remember that.
JT comes back to the club looking for his cell phone - and gets an earful from nosy Nikki: Something's off here - something's not right. Brit and Bobby were in love. Who was that guy watching you earlier? Dark, short, mean looking - he enjoyed the show you were putting on. Feigning ignorance, JT points out it has nothing to do with her. Says who? Nikki answers (reminding him that HE got in HER business by telling Brit about her and Bobby - we were NOT making out). Nikki's not buying it. Why would Brit sleep with you when she's got a man like Bobby at home? You still got a thing for him, don't you, JT guesses. Nikki slaps him across the face. Don't you EVER speak like to me like that again! Touched a nerve I guess, JT sneers as he saunters out.
Nearby, Gloria practically salivates at the scene - then asks Nikki to join her for a minute. She praises the classy Nikki, then asks for advice on Michael's wedding. They say you can entertain half the town with one hand tied behind your back. Oh dear - So that's what they say, Nikki smiles in an ever so slightly condescending manner. Gloria wants the wedding to be grand - something people will remember. 2 champagne fountains should be enough, she supposes - And doves being released into the sky. Gloria is thinking about a theme - Gone With The Wind. Combining a costume party with a wedding, Nikki says disapprovingly. Gloria hadn't thought about it like that. Yes, she wants Nikki's honest opinion - and gets it. Nikki says traditionally, 'spicing it up' lies in the wedding itself - the people getting married should be the focus. It's a time for them to show their love and commitment in a beautiful setting. Yes - it's an event, but it shouldn't overshadow the true purpose of the occasion. Tradition should come before originality - and if you get too grand, you'll run up against Lauren. Gloria thanks Nikki for her input. Nikki signs her bill and smiles 'you're welcome'. Give John my best. Gloria's left to ponder Nikki's advice.
More Mobsters
At the apartment, Vinnie insists Bobby get even with JT - you're with me aren't you? The guy I used to know wouldn't let a punk knock up his old lady and get away with it. If you're not the old Bobby - who are you? We ALL need to know. Bobby has his own plans - I know when the rich people are going on vacation - I know where they hide the extra keys - I need time. I don't plan to get my knuckles broken. Vinnie insists he whack JT. He wants to see that Bobby's back and he gets even. Bobby refuses - too much of a risk. The kid's not worth killing. Do something! Vinnie demands: I wanna see 'I'm sorry I ever messed with Bobby Marino' written all over his face. Bobby gets it - and once alone, looks worried.
JT again shows up - he wants to know the plan. Nikki Newman is getting suspicious. I want to get back to my life. You recording this conversation? You look a bit shifty in the eyes, JT is suspicious. Bobby replies; JT, I gotta hurt you - I gotta hurt you real bad.
The Hallowed Hall of NE
You're such a good friend, Sharon says as she hugs Brad. Vikki interrupts by clearing her throat - I hope I didn't interrupt anything. No, you didn't Sharon answers lightly. After Vikki leaves again, Sharon wonders about her telling Nikki: The woman has never trusted me. It was perfectly innocent, Brad insists - don't worry about it. Sharon's not sure she's ready to work - Noah's coming home soon. Nick calls: We got him. The police are on their way. Yeah - I found him first - I didn't do anything to him - I'll leave that to the courts. I'll be back in a couple of hours - can't wait to see Noah. It'll be good to have you home. It'll be good to be back, Nick agrees and hangs up. How'd he sound? Brad asks Preoccupied - but you're right - everything will be fine now. Brad thanks her again for putting in a good word with Vikki - it'll be good working together again. See you soon.
Lovin' LA
Nick drags Daniel down from a rock, but can't do any damage because Phyllis hauls him off: hit me - this is my fault - he's my son. Hit me! Don't touch my son again. If you run, I'll get you - get walking, Nick barks - there's a cold cell waiting for you.
Lily calls her Mom. Oh my God, Dru's eyes well up. It's so good to hear your voice. She then lectures: you're not half as sorry as you'll be when you get here. We'll talk when you get home - she asks to speak to Neil. Is our baby OK - in every way? Neil hasn't had much chance to talk to her - he'll call back later. Love you. Thank God, Dru cries as she hangs up. Eavesdropping, Devon smiles. Lily's safe, she's with her father, Dru tells him. Yes I'm happy - but we have to deal with the GC police - the LA police. Lily really cares about that guy, Devon says as he advises Dru not to badmouth Daniel. She only THINKS she cares about that nincompoop, Dru's sure - I can't be Lily's girlfriend - I have to be her mother. I AM so happy, Dru agrees. Devon's going out and will be back later. Be careful, she says. Devon thanks her. For what? Dru wonders. Wanting me to be careful, he smiles back. Dru gives him a quick kiss and watches him go.
In the park, Devon startles his mother (who's not pleased to see him). Mother is just a word - I gave birth to you, but I didn't raise you. Devon thinks he can help - WHY can't you get over your problem? You can't understand - You belong with those people - Go - Get! If you're not gonna be my Mom, you can't tell me what to do, Devon replies. She doesn't even know the right way to live and doesn't feel good about herself - go be with those nice people. I wish I could give you a good life, but I can't - you're lucky you found someone who can. Forget about me. Devon takes a few steps and hesitates. Go! she shouts. Back in LA, Lily explains to her Dad that the clerk was already shot when they got there. Neil says they've got an attorney in town here and will do what they can to prevent her from going to jail - but it's serious. Don't give a statement til the attorney talks to you. Lily should have thought of the consequences before she ran of - she agrees to be obedient but not answer questions.
Lily sees Daniel being walked up the beach and immediately shouts out to him. Neil restrains her: Enough is enough - Daniel's off limits - he's gotten you in enough trouble. Do you understand me. Daniel! let me go! Neil holds her tight. You're not running the show - you're not making demands. She runs into Daniel's arms - and they cling to one another desperately. Daniel's memory is coming back - he wasn't driving, she blurts out. it's not what you want to hear - but it's true - she tells Nick. Nick pushes Daniel. Hey - don't touch my son, Phyllis snaps.
At the cafe, a small crowd watches in interest as the kids are cuffed and read their rights. Neil instructs Lily: don't talk - don't put up a fight - your lawyer and I will be in the building. I'm scared, Lily whimpers: Be strong. Don't talk. Daniel looks over: She didn't do anything. He wishes he'd kept going - not stopped in LA. Shut your mouth, Phyllis hisses: Chris has arranged a good attorney for you - don't talk until he's here. As Daniel and Lily share a look of longing, Nick steps in between it and glares at Daniel. As they all file out - Nick's left alone. His sigh isn't one of satisfaction or accomplishment.
