Newman Nitwits
Nick's not happy to get a visit from the lawyer defending the person who killed his daughter: You have the audacity to show your face here? If this is about your client's latest tactic, get the hell out! I thought you should know Daniel's been brought back to GC, Chris informs. During the sentencing phase, Nick plans to be there to speak on Cassie's behalf. Justice will be served, Chris assures - she understands how he feels let down by the law. Nick's been let down by his friends too - people he thought he could trust. Chris hopes they can repair their friendship. In time the pain will lessen - I've lost people too. My mother - and half brother. Slowly you come to accept it. You've got good friends, including me. As trite as it sounds, it's best to keep busy. I'll show myself out - take care of yourself, a teary eyed Chris leaves with one last look backwards.

At the ranch, Sharon doesn't appreciate Nikki's subtle implication that there's something going on between her and Brad. We're just friends. I hope to bridge the gap with Nicholas. Nikki's surprised to hear Nick's at the office. There's too many memories at home - I'm more used to it, Sharon explains: Cassie was such a big part of our lives. When Nikki wonders if she's considered buying a new house, Sharon agrees it could be good. Nikki would miss them terribly - How do you think Nick would feel about a fresh start? A place to rebuild our lives, Sharon ponders: could be exactly what we need.

Book Em Dan-oh
At the Winter's condo, Lily is welcomed home by Dru and Devon - she apologizes for what she's put them through - but defends Daniel's innocence. He remembers Cassie was driving. It's speculation, Neil says. Lily refuses to believe that. When we get you out on bail, we'll talk, Dru says. As Lily goes off to shower, they wonder: Is it possible Daniel wasn't at the wheel? Or is it wishful thinking? That punk dragged her across the country - he's just trying to avoid responsibility. Neil thinks they need to let it play it - if true (that Daniel wasn't driving), it might help her.

When Lily's ready to return to the police station for booking, Dru's supportive: It's a shame it has to go down like this - be glad your father and I will support you no matter what. Devon gives her a reassuring hug good bye: I'll be right here waiting for you.

Phyllis is horrifed to see her son in chains - Is this necessary?? Apparently it is. With Daniel sporting a bright orange jumpsuit, Phyllis tells him that they're having the car tested. Why are you so convinced you weren't driving that night? Daniel relays his flashbacks. Why would a 14 year old girl drive you home? Phyllis has to ask: What aren't you telling me? Daniel's holding nothing back - and suggests they check the position of the drivers seat. He's certain he wasn't driving. You still skipped bail - and took someone along with you, Phyllis reminds: No - she hasn't seen Lily - Neil took her home. Daniel feels terrible. It was her decision to go with you, Phyllis rationalizes. Daniel imagines things must be bad at work - then guesses she got fired. No - I quit, Phyllis claims: I don't want to work for them. I can get a job anywhere. I don't deserve you, Daniel says. Webber needs to get Daniel ready for transport - he's off to a juvenile facility beside the courthouse. It's going to be fine, Phyllis assures as she looks penetratingly into his eyes: Believe in me - we're going to get you out of here. I'll be right behind you - I'll follow you, she assures. Daniel nods as Phyllis tries to leave with a smile. But on the other side of the door, she's devastated.

Lily arrives at the station. I can't believe this is happening - we'll get bail and get you out, Dru promises with a hug. Lily then hugs her Dad. Neil asks to go with her, but is refused by Webber. Take care of her, Dru calls out as she sobs on Neil's shoulder. Neil's going to call Michael Baldwin. Dru's tears shut off when she finds herself face to face with Phyllis. My daughter's being booked for aiding and abetting a fugitive - YOUR degenerate son. YOUR daughter got the car and the cash, Phyllis fires back. Dru blames her- I won't rest til he's in prison. Once he's freed, I won't let him anywhere near your daughter, Phyllis retorts before Neil breaks it up.

Daniel's led by Lily - who mouths 'hi' as she's having her mug shots taken. Daniel then stares at Phyllis - and Dru as he's taken out.

Acting Out

Impressed by the performance, Vinnie stands by as JT shouts that Bobby will pay for what he's done: this kid means business! Paul arrives on the scene: put the gun down JT! You're dead Marsino! JT continues to point the gun with a shaky hand. Suddenly, Bobby lunges and wrestles JT for the gun. He throws JT onto the sofa: get this piece of garbage out of here now. He throws the gun to Paul. Ever put a gun in my face again, you better use it, he warns JT (who's then hustled out the door by Paul).

Bravo, Vinnie praises: way to show that punk kid who's boss - I thought you'd gone soft on me. Maybe I DO worry too much - but I still have questions about you Bob. Vinnie wonders why he didn't just tell him he took care of the kid. Bobby doesn't want to be busting heads left and right. Sure it felt good, but I don't wanna be your enforcer. We'll find something for you to do, Vinnie assures. Bobby's onto something big here. You have a lot to make up - I'll be in touch, Vinnie says as he leaves.

At the loft, Brit flashes back to her wedding night with Bobby - when JT and Paul arrive: What happened to you!? Think they bought it? JT asks. You were pushing it with that gun, Paul chimes in: Your friend deserves an award. JT relays they put on a little show. You did all this for Bobby and me? Brit asks. I got a soft spot for you Princess. As Brit gushes on about making sure Joshua how special his Uncle JT is, JT's not so sure it's worked - these are bad people. Let's hope Bobby gets on with putting them away - who knows what they'll want him to do tomorrow.

More Newman Nitwits
Brad approaches Vic (who's punching the gym bag). He thanks Vic for the job - and claims he's looking for challenge - and Yes, maybe revenge on Jack. Vic points out he has interest in Jabot. What would you do if I asked you to sell your stock? Brad's learned not to put all his eggs in one basket. You have this little chat with all new employees? Vic gets to the point - the Brad Carlton I know wouldn't come back to NE without an agenda. I want you there to keep an eye on you. Brad chuckles: You're a suspicious man. Vic extends his hand: welcome aboard. Brad takes it: thank you.

Brad's surprised to find Nick in the office (as Vikki's in a meeting). You must be relieved Daniel's in custody. How's Sharon and Noah doing? They must be thrilled you're home - he missed you. Talked about it many times. Your son spent time with Abby while you were gone. Ah yes - Nick saw photos of the pool party. He has to wonder if there's any particular reason Brad's asking so many questions about his plans.

As Nikki and Sharon have all but decided that moving's a good idea, Vic returns to the ranch and reports he just had an interesting conversation with NE's newest executive. Nikki's stunned: Brad's working at NE? Vikki convinced Vic it was a good idea. He's a talented executive, Sharon interjects: shame to see that go to waste. Apparently it was Sharon's idea. Oh really? Nikki purses her lips; interesting. Sharon thinks he'd be a great help to Victoria. Victor must agree - you approved it. Nikki's shocked: You've never had much use for Brad. Sharon excuses herself to speak to Miguel. Once alone, Nikki guesses he hired Brad to stick it to Jack. No - we need good executives. It was Vikki's decision. Nikki worries about Nick and Sharon. Don't worry - he's home - they'll work out their problems. They're struggling - we must help them. They're in need of closure. Isn't there anything you could do to speed up the trial - use your influence with the DA? Vic will see what he can do.

I assume you know your sister hired me - how do you feel about that? Nick trusts Vikki's judgment - and my father must have approved it. Brad's glad to be there. When Nick wishes him good luck, Brad blurts out that he would have done the same thing - gone after Daniel. Nick appreciates that - not everyone understands. Sharon does, Brad believes: it was just hard for her. But you're back, it's over. Yeah, Nick agrees unconvincingly.

My Thoughts
Today's show rates an 8 ... Why is Chris (the defense attorney) the one to give Nick the news that Daniel's been brought back to town? Didn't Nick have all the 'Newman resources' involved? Shouldn't they have known - and told him? And where is the media that was supposedly such a concern? ... You'd think someone having a mug shot taken would have a bit of privacy - not be open for public viewing by anybody who happens by. Too bad Dru didn't dart in to give Lily a dab of lipstick, maybe fix her hair a bit .... Sharon and Nick moving is a terrible idea. Poor Noah needs stability - and how will Sharon manage without Miguel to chauffeur him around? Plus, they'd be giving up their rent free accommodations - one of them might actually have to go back to work ... JT deserves an award all right - Chump of the Month .... Where are all the customers and staff while this asinine little charade is playing out. And how long will it be before Gina's had enough of her brawling bartender? And if you're gonna take someone down who's aming a gun at you, would you have them land on a nice comfy sofa?? ... I'm sure Brad has a lot of other talents Sharon hates to see go to waste .... I doubt Vic could legally make Brad sell his stock in Jabot (he's free to invest anywhere he wants) ... Since when does Vic have 'influence' over the DA? He's a convicted felon.

Next: Seated at the club, Brad informs Ashley: I'm embarking upon a new career change - with Newman Enterprises .. Vic invites Glen Richards over to ask him if the trial can be moved up... Dru fesses up to Neil: I talked to her...Yolanda Hamilton...

For those who were members of the message boards - and therefore, no doubt, a friend of 'Leafy's' - Amy Kay has created a very touching tribute. http://dump.grendosa.com/Leafy.wmv . Just added: my own eulogy or sorts. My thoughts: From the heart - Leafy.
