Law n' DisOrder
At the apartment, Devon tries to dissuade Lily from going to see Daniel. He's caused nothing but trouble - stay away. Does a house have to fall on your head!? If you tell my parents I'll never talk to you again, Lily warns. Unable to change her mind, Devon decides he'll go with her.

Chris pays her client a visit: The forensics investigators have their work cut out for them in trying to find something to prove Cassie was driving. How can I defend you I've you've already convicted yourself? she asks the pessimistic Daniel. We must have overlooked something - tell me everything about the party. Daniel was upset about Lily - it was me and my beer. Sam Christensen got me the beer - likely off his brother. Yeah - he was at the party - but I didn't see him much. Maybe he saw you and hasn't come forward because he's laying low, Chris suggests. Daniel wracks him brain for a few more names. Sarah Hoffman? Stacey Crawford? Great, Chris encourages, this is exactly what I'm talking about. Daniel will try to think of other names. Chris announces he's getting a phone call today - from your father - you can't avoid him. He needs to hear your voice - and you need to hear his too. I don't know when you'll have this chance again - I had to pull strings to arrange it. On cue, the phone rings: Dad? Yeah - it's me.

You were right - I needed to talk to my Dad (but Daniel doesn't want him to quit the tour to come see him). Chris promises not to bring Danny back to GC. When Daniel worries about Lily, Chris needs him to focus on himself - think about that night - anything that can help your case. She looks worried as he's led back.

At the station, Webber reminds Lily she's not allowed to have contact with Mr Romalotti. Go home or I'm calling your folks. Getting nowhere by whining, they're about to leave when they hear a ruckus. A loud Yolanda's lead in and sat down (for questioning). Someone you know? Lily asks. My mother, Devon says as he watches the obliviously stoned Yolanda in dismay. When she tries to wander off, the officer sits her back down. Devon intercedes: Hey! Get your hands off of her! He lambastes the cop - you wanna rough someone up, pick me. This guy's being a jerk. Lily - stay out of this, he shouts. When Webber comes out, Devon shouts accusations of police brutally: This guy's jerking my mother around.

Season-ing
Chatting with Brad at the coffee house, Sharon doesn't think she's ready to return to NE. I'm a mess. Brad disagrees - and wasn't talking full time. What did you have in mind? she wonders. Gee, I thought you'd never ask, Brad smiles - then explains: There'll be a new product line every 3 months. Sounds amazing, Sharon says: how do you see ME being involved. I don't think I can interact as a spokesperson. Brad encourages her: it's a big juicy project. I'll be a gentle wind at your back til you say 'yes'. I want you on my team. I need to carve a place at NE - I need a team that shares my agenda. I want to get Seasons on the shelf asap. Get your feet wet - he hands her a folder. Call me anytime. I want your ideas and input. No promises. Sharon smiles: can't hurt to take a look. You'll find it a fascinating read, Brad assures: It has Sharon Newman written all over it.

A thoughtful Brad flashes back to his conversation with Vic (who wants him at NE to keep an eye on him. You're not above suspicion. Welcome aboard).

More Newman Nitwits
At the ranch, Neil gets the lowdown from Vic - and admits Brad being hired surprised the hell out of him. Vic will be keeping an eye on Brad - and WILL let Vikki run things. Neil's assur3ed his job's secure - in fact, Vic would like him to mentor Vikki. What will Brad's role be? Neil wonders. It hasn't been determined but given his experience, Vic's sure he won't be twiddling his thumbs - Jack's loss might be our gain. Neil's dismissed - to fold his arms and scowl on the front step.

Neil finds Brad in Vic's office: Well, well - making yourself at home. Welcome aboard. I'm thrilled to be back, Brad says: Vikki's meeting the folks from Dusseldorf. Brad wants to pick Neil's brain about Seasons. Neil loves it (and not just because it's Dru's brainchild). When they roll out next year, it'll be big. Not fast enough fro Brad - he wants it out before the holidays. It's a hot idea. Neil doesn't want to rush it. There's work and testing to be done. Brad pushes for an October launch. What are you smoking? Neil wonders. Brad also wants to expand the line to add hair care products. Neil balks: this is insane. We can add more elements later. He doesn't care if Jabot's putting out hair care products - we can't let another company dictate our product line. Brad's surprised he's being so conservative. Neil doesn't want his wife looking bad if it's a flop. The way you're talking, it will be. Brad wants them to work together - and guesses his hesitation has to do with Lily. I'm the best person to head up this project. Neil can take care of his personal and professional life just fine - and won't ruin NE's reputation by launching prematurely. There's no need to stab each other in the back to get what we want, is there? Brad asks. Webber's call interrupts - you're kids are hear causing some headaches. We'll discuss it later - WITH Victoria, Neil says as he races out. You bet, Brad agrees.

Back at the station, Devon looks ready to take the whole department on: Don't you tell me to go home! Neil arrives: What's going on here?

Chris visits Vic to see if he's behind the case being pushed through. Vic admits he spoke to Glen. It's time for justice to be served - as quickly as humanly possible. He wants it over with. Chris needs time to build her defense. I've asked for the customary 60 days. Vic wonders if she has evidence he doesn't know about. If we know all the facts, why delay? There's no evidence to prove Cassie was driving the car is there? Chris gets a call from Glen. That's your prerogative, she tells him. It'll be argued before the judge later today. I won't have time to build a proper defense, Chris whines to Vic: Where's the justice in that? Vic will take is family's side in this. You have a good day, he coldly gives Chris his default dismissal.

It's a Number's Game
At the club restaurant, Mike updates Kevin on his generous bribe to get rid of Tom (which should be enough to do it) - then shares the mystery of Lauren's son with Kevin. He's stunned to hear about Scott Granger (who's just a few years younger than him). Given how important Lauren feels family is, Mike can't fathom her being so secretive about him. All Mike knows is he's not in prison or a mental patient. he's working on his masters in education. I tried Googling him. Lauren arrives: did I interrupt something? What's going on? We were talking about wedding plans - the bachelor party, Kevin lies weakly. Armed with travel brochures, Lauren's been working on the honeymoon. My queue to leave, Kevin says - then asks to use her phone to call Mac.

Lauren joins Mike: Is something wrong? Is this about Tom? Mike thinks his lucrative offer has solved that. He'd rather think and talk about her. Any idea what you've brought to my life? Passion love, companionship - a whole world that's solely ours. You're my whole world. I've never been more excited about the future. You say the greatest things, Lauren gushes. She's got the travel agent putting itinerary's together for some cruises - but gives him a kiss to tide him over. I love you a whole bunch, Mike smiles: I can really be who I am. I always want us to be open and honest. His smile fades when Lauren ignores the hint and changes subjects: let's look through these - decide where we want to go.

When Mike's left alone for a minute, Kevin returns and hands him a number written on a napkin; a 416 area code number taken found on Lauren's cell phone (416 is Toronto Canada). God I'm good, Kevin beams proudly.

My Thoughts
Today's show rates a 7.5... Sure Devon's acting on emotion - but he shouldn't be speaking to the police in that manner - and they shouldn't be allowing it. Yolanda may not be being treated like a Princess - but it's a far cry from police brutality. She's no Rodney King here... Devon has no business to tell Lily to 'stay away' - if he's not willing to 'stay away' from his mother (who's also nothing but trouble) ... What exactly is Yolanda being questioned for anyway? If they know she's a drug user, can't they arrest her for something? ... Why WOULDN'T Danny cut his tour short to come support his son? Just last year he was a fading rock star with absolutely nothing on his calendar (according to the website Lyn checked out). NOW we're expected to believe he's an in demand performer? Will postponing a tour date lead to a riot? ... 'Season' is a great idea - but why is Neil dragging his feet so long? As it's a new product line each season, wouldn't they only have to come up with ONE at a time? Why NOT focus on October and launch the Winter products in time for the holidays? .If they don't get it out by then, it'll have to wait til Spring .... Didn't Vic make it clear he was suspicious of Brad and planned to keep an eye on him? Yet here he is alone sitting behind Vic's desk ... If Sharon doesn't think she can be NE's spokesperson again - what role exactly does she see for herself? She's not qualified for anything else (except pouring coffee) and it'll likely take her more than one season two read the entire folder (I'm sure her version of 'fascinating reading' is the Victoria's Secret catalogue).

Next: Ashley questions Lauren: don't you have a son? Why don't we ever see him?... Mike's tempted to go to Toronto - meet the boy....Neil warns Yolanda: I want you to keep away from that boy - my son.

Thanks for your most generous support. I still have a few emails to send out - and names to add to the subscription list. The donation button will be retired 07/20/05.

For those who were members of the message boards - and therefore, no doubt, a friend of 'Leafy's' - Amy Kay has created a very touching tribute. http://dump.grendosa.com/Leafy.wmv . Just added: my own eulogy or sorts. My thoughts: From the heart - Leafy.
