The Abbott's return to the empty mansion - and spotting the Baked Alaska, wonder it THAT's why they all left - it's like they up and abandoned the place.
At CL's, Kevin and the Baldwin's gossip about Jeffrey - and wonder what's wrong with Gloria. When Kevin suggests Jeff's poisoning her, Mike's suspicious (and mentions the small vile he caught them with). And though Mike's clearly on to him, Kevin plays dumb.
The Baldwin's and Kevin return to the mansion and update the Abbott's that Jeff's with Glo at the hospital. The Bardwell's arrive moments later. Seems there's nothing wrong with Gloria. Not even a mild case of food poisoning? Kevin prods - this doesn't make any sense. Jeffrey effectively dismisses them all - even the lingering Kevin. Outside, the Baldwin's confront Kevin - you were expecting her to be sick. Kevin marches off - you two should be glad she's OK, he huffs.
The Baldwin's head to the club to eat (since all they got fed tonight was a lot of bull). Gloria tells the Abbott's that she's not been feeling well, then shrugs off Jeff's attempts to help her upstairs (which the Abbott's certainly notice). Jeff tells Jack that they're considering his offer - good night. Now alone, the suspicious Abbott's look for the spy cam - it's gone.
After touching base with Nick about the warehouse, Jack's lead upstairs by Sharon.
At CL's, JT convinces Vikki to move into the 'family friendly' cottage - Nick and Sharon's old place - Reed will have room to run around outside. Vikki's amazed JT doesn't mind living next to Vic (whom she's still worried about). Nikki arrives, coos over the sleeping Reed - then hears they're moving into the place she and David are vacating. They've taken a suite at the club until they find a house. JT heads back to NE - he'll be home late - 02:00. Vikki's mildly disappointed when Nikki has to leave too. Once alone, she's relieved when Reed cries - how did you know I needed something to do?
At the tackhouse, Phyllis reluctantly heads off to her spin class. Blueprints in hand, Nick has plans to knock walls out. Phyllis is amused by his enthusiasm - you're a different person - sexy.
Nick joins Vikki at CL's to rave on about his plans for the warehouse - and share some humorous banter.
He's fine with her and JT moving into his old place and surprised she's going back to work tomorrow. She mentions being unable to contact an old friend in Italy, but sends Nick off with his desserts - I'm fine. Kevin nudges Vikki out - it's time to close up. He then calls Glo - meet me over here as soon as you can.
Sneaking out ever so discreetly, Glo
arrives at CL's (where she and Kevin try to find out what went wrong). Glo feels fine - did all along - I was acting. Kevin thinks he knows what's up - I'll let you know. Tasting the 'poison', he confirms his suspicions - it's water!
Locking the front door, the Abbott's take their snacks up to bed (assuming everyone's already tucked in). When Sharon comes back down, she spots Jeffrey with the spy cam.
Jeffrey asks Glo where she's been - suspecting she went to see Kevin. Told Kevin's likely in bed, Jeff bets he is - whispering in Jana's ear: Mom's poisoning didn't go quite as planned. Jeff admits he switched the poison with good old H2O (and is on to the plan). Glo denies all - you must be drunk.
Jeff can play games too. You'll be playing with the best of them, Glo boasts. Jeff disagrees - based on tonight's events. Bring it on, Glo challenges. Let the games begin, Jeff smiles his way up to bed (leaving Glo's eyes to bug out as she plots).
In Vic's office, Vic SR welcomes JR (who explains he took a leave from his job to try things out at NE - if the offer still stands). Of course it does, Vic assures - it's a trial run for both. JR's not there in need of a father - it's a career move. He can start tomorrow morning - as Adam (NOT Victor Junior).
This is quite an operation, JR admires as Vic shows him around. Adam's eager to start fresh. Vic will think about what department to put him in - welcome to GC - welcome to NE - glad you're here. Thank you Sir, JR shakes his hand (and takes the numerous files Vic hands him). JR declines staying at the ranch - and will pay for his own room at the club, thank you very much. Now alone, Vic calls the club to ask for the best for Adam Wilson - bill it to me.
Vic's happy to get a visit from Vikki (still toting Reed around town). She's stir crazy - and is coming back to work tomorrow. She's already hired a 'baby nurse' for Reed.
Vic has a surprise too - he's hired a new employee to take over Nick's responsibilities. He refuses to hire Nick back - Adam Wilson is the replacement - my son with Hope. We have a new member in our family. Vikki emits a soft; Hmm, in response.
At the club, Nikki and David bump into Phyllis (ordering take out). She makes it very clear that she disapproves of them hiring Brad - he's a lousy human being. David scowls as Nikki states Brad has gained her trust.
Now seated, Nikki updates David that the Hellstrum's are buying the house they're vacating. She worries Vic will hook his claws into Vikki even further - the bright side? Reed and Summer will grow up together. Nikki then mentions a message on the phone from that old friend - Walter - he wants to get together. David claims he's not a friend - he's a pain - let's avoid him. As they go to get a table, Nikki bumps head on into JR (who proceeds to the bar for a ginger ale). Waiting for her takeout, Phyllis sits beside JR - the pair strike up conversation - Phyllis can't join him for dinner (and waves her 'grotesquely large pink' rock under his nose). He's a lucky man, JR opines. Phyllis feels lucky too. Grabbing her food, Phyllis leaves still smiling. Back home, Nick and Phyllis enjoy the ribs as Phyllis boasts that she got hit on tonight by a new guy in town.
Back at the club, Nikki counts her blessings - life is good. Let's go home, David leads her out (right past JR).
Next: Vikki marches full speed into Vic's office - Dad I'm back. JR spins around in the chair behind Vic's desk ....Jeff to Glo: I'll get the Abbott's to abandon the house to us on one condition .. What's that? Glo wonders ... Vikki makes a call - Mom - there's something I need to tell you that I haven't even told JT yet.
My Thoughts: Great idea using the name 'Adam Wilson' Vic JR - we certainly can't have any nepotism going on at NE. Wasn't Vic's relationship with Hope Adams included in Ruthless - and if so, why didn't JR ever put the pieces together - since he's so bright and all ..... How many times is Nikki going to leave the ranch before she actually leaves? Last week, she realized (thanks to David) that she had no reason to ever come back to the ranch - and with one last look, was gone (and yet she's STILL at the cottage?) ... Again, no mention that Sharon OWNS the marital home. Has she even been told that Vic's made the sale? ...Note to Vikki - a baby nurse is called a nanny ... Vikki? The life of the party? Did I really hear Nick say that? WHEN - EVER has Vikki been the life of the party - I don't even think I've seen her attend a party - never mind being the life of one. And 'social'? Puh-lease - the girl has absolutely no friends - even her old pals from Italy are staying clear (could it be the forgotten shower thing?). And for a new Mom who awakens panic stricken when her infant's not at her side - why is she so eager to drop him off at daycare? ... Summer and Reed can grow up together? Nikki must mean at a Swiss boarding school ... Guess that means, Nick and Phyllis have no plans to ever buy their own place? A bigger place? Don't they ever eat at the dining room table? ... Oh JR - I don't think Phyllis was being 'wry', she was being sarcastic (which one shouldn't be towards the person handling your food - out of sight).. Saying words like 'flow' and 'colour palette' make Nick 'sexy'? Who knew? I guess it's better than 'give me some knucks' .... Vic's called a meeting to introduce JR to senior management? Who? There's only Neil left.... Nikki's excited because the club is closer to work for her? Never heard her complain about the commute from the ranch to Jabot before.
For those who were members of the message boards - and therefore, no doubt, a friend of 'Leafy's' - Amy Kay has created a very touching tribute. http://dump.grendosa.com/Leafy.wmv . Just added: my own eulogy of sorts. My thoughts: From the heart - Leafy. |
