It's really me Grandma, Philip IV's fussed over by the jubilant Nina, Jill and Kay. But Nina haltingly has something important they need to talk about. 'You', Philip looks at his father - then his mother in confusion.

On the CL's patio, Amber's answered Cane's summons - but having nothing kind to say to him, lambastes him for all he's done to the wonderful Mrs C. What DOES Cane want? To say good bye.

Sitting in her hospital bed, Lily doesn't get why Aunt Liv has to be the one to tell her what's wrong. Not like she's some fragile flower that's gonna fall apart. She'll get over not being pregnant - but why more tests? Aunt Liv arrives to explain there's a reason Lily got a false positive - a mass on her ovary. A mass? Lily's now joined by her father - another sign that something's really wrong with her.

At the ranch, Victor flashes back to DR Taylor's insistence that the bond between Adam and Ashley must be severed. Meanwhile, Adam arrives at the potting shed - if that nutbag tells Jack everything, I'm toast, Adam mutters upon finding nothing but the discarded purple dress.

Jack exhales deeply outside CL's before joining Mary Jane to report his life couldn't be going any better. It's been a long time, he sits. MJ grins - she's back and ready to pick up where they left off. While MJ obviously doesn't give a flying crap, Jack updates that Phyllis was cleared - seems the accusor was the one to hurt Summer. Who could do such a thing? Hurt an innocent child? Jack rambles on until MJ realizes he thinks she had something to do with it.

When Victor talks to Adam about how upset Ashley's been, Adam offers his support. Victor appreciates that - but what Ashley needs is a less stressful environment. Adam agrees - perhaps if he used his earphones for his music. Victor clarifies - your presence here isn't beneficial to Ashley or the baby.

Back at the estate, Jill scolds Nina for not telling Philip that his father's alive. Kay understands that Nina didn't want him distracted in Iraq - coulda been dangerous. Philip's seen people die - they stay that way. Call me 'Chance', he says - a nickname he picked up overseas. It's complicated, Kay stammers. Chance then approaches his father to shake his hand - good to meet you Sir.

Yeah, yeah, bye - can I go now? Amber's unimpressed. Cane doesn't think either of them are pillars of honesty - but cares about Amber enough that he doesn't want her to lose everything - like he has.

Neil's there because he's Lily's father - not because something's terribly wrong. Liv explains the first step's a biopsy. Lily feels fine - just a bit tired. With Lily's white cell count elevated, Liv's concerned the mass may be malignant. Malignant? Lily echos - as she's told more about the test. Neil perches on the bed to offer encouragement. Yes - cancer's a possibility, Liv admits - if so, they'll discuss the best course of treatment. Lily falls apart at the mention of scary words like chemotherapy, surgery, radiation. But Liv's optimistic - she's proof that cancer can be overcome. Since Lily's already checked in, the tests will be done asap. When Neil goes to do the paperwork, Lily assumes he's talking to Liv in private. Devon offers to get some snacks and magazines from the gift shop - but what Lily really wants is Cane. I want my husband, she wimpers.

On the CL's patio, Cane confides how much he misses Lily - but he's getting what he deserves. Imagine Daniel living with that kind of pain? When Amber denies they're anything alike, Cane disagrees - we lie so well because we've convinced ourselves it's the truth. Yes - Cane really loves Jill and Kay - that's why he was so convincing. Lily's the best thing that ever happened to him. The deceit didn't bother him because he knew he'd love (and take care of) her forever. Yeah - it blew up in his face. Cane doesn't want Amber to make the same mistakes - if there's something she needs to tell Daniel, tell him NOW.

Philip doesn't want to talk about the ugly details of his long story. Chance's seen ugly - this doesn't come close. My room empty? He looks forward to sleeping in a real bed. Off he goes to wash up and put on some 'civies'. I really miss being here, he heads upstairs. See what you've missed all these years? Nina can't help but chide Philip (who thinks Chance seems like a great guy).

Adam doesn't get it - wasn't he one of the chosen few invited to Victor's wedding? Since when has his presence caused Ashley stress? You want to kick me out and not take it personally? I've become Ashley's confidante. Who's behind this? Victoria? DR Taylor? Is it because I'm blind? Not perfect like your other children?

Jack tells MJ that Summer suffered brain damage - with regards to her language skills, she's a toddler now. Jack knows she'd never intentionally hurt a child. Implying it was an accident, he invites MJ to tell him anything. I won't judge. There's nothing to tell, MJ insists. As Jack continues to try and pull a confession out of MJ, it becomes clear that she's not stable. Gripping his hand, MJ knows these aren't HIS thoughts - you care about me too much. Unable to do anything by nod agreement, Jack appears to realize he's in over his head.

In the hallway, Liv updates that she's scheduled the biospy. Aggitated, Neil wants the 'worse case scenario'. If malignant, the numbers aren't good - survival is 45%. Lily's young and strong - we'll fight this aggresively. Her mental well being will make the difference between life and d____. Oops - Lily needs support and optimism. OK, though clearly devastated, Neil won't fall apart. But he also won't call Cane - he destroyed her life - NO! Neil returns to offer Lily more support - some movies and her favourite teddy bear. Cane? Let's forget about him. He's still my husband, Lily reminds. He's also still a con man, Devon counters.

Back at the estate, Chance can hold off on food - but wants to know more about his father being alive - and who Cane is? Philip gets a call from the doctor's office - and all are relieved to hear he doesn't carry the gene for Huntington's. Everything's good, Chance concludes (though he's the only one who looks convinced of that).

After getting Adam out of prison (and the best medical care) Victor's insulted at the idea that he wants Adam back in prison - he's talking about a facility for the visually impaired - a half way house. Victor disagrees that he's the 'black sheep' - he brought Adam into the family and the business - gave him preferential treatment at the expense of his other children. You abused that. I'm not turning on you. And if Adam's concerned about Ashley, why wouldn't he want to help her? Screw the 'coddle the blind' home, Adam snaps - he'd rather be back in prison (where there's people he trusts). Victor's had enough of Adam's histrionics - do as I say - got that? Ashley won't be too happy about this, are Adam's last words at Victor's retreating back.

Of course Jack remembers the best shower of his life - until he slipped on the soap. Remember the night I got that champagne? Um - is that cat dead? he spots Kitty in the travel case. No - it's alive, she assures. Jack continues to reminisce - then irritates MJ by mentioning Phyllis' name. MJ was patient the night he left her bed to console Phyllis - but it would be wonderful to have his undivided attention - for once. Jack apologizes - he can't think straight when he's near her. MJ seemingly buys it - and asks for another iced tea. Your wish is my command, Jack places the order - then Oh God! turns to see MJ's vanished. Mary Jane? he calls out.

Back at GCM, Neil and Devon pace the hallway - worrying about Lily. It's not fair. Life's not fair. Oh - what she might have to go through. Neil vows they'll rally behind her to fight - together. Cane's her family too, Devon doesn't think they have the right to keep him away. Neil disagrees strongly - Lily can't be upset. Good riddance to Cane. In her room, an emotional Lily stares at Cane's name on her phone's call list.

Still on the patio, Amber assures she and Daniel are solid - things are great - though a tiny part of her worries her past might come back to haunt her. Cane really belives honesty's the best policy - maybe everything would be different for him if he'd told the truth. And now, he feels like scum. Whatever she's afraid to tell Daniel needs to come out now - before he hears it from someone else. Yes - he's really leaving town. Amber looks sad - where will you go? Cane's not sure - but the people he's hurt deserve peace. Take care of yourself, they exchange - as Cane's left to mope alone.

Jack's on the phone with Heather - assuring her that MJ's back in town. She hurt Summer and made false accusations against Phyllis - I expect you to arrest her. What do you mean no judge would issue a warrant!? YOU'RE frustrated? How the hell do you think I feel? Fine - if the DA's office is gonna sit on their butt's, Jack will go find MJ himself - thanks ~click~

Back in the potting shed, MJ cradles her Kitty - Jack doesn't believe I'd do such awful things - he's kidding. Oh, he's such a kidder, that Jack. Where the hell have you been? Looking for Jack? Adam marches in. No - MJ didn't mention Adam - he's the last person on her mind. Yes - Jack was happy to see her - he had tears in his eyes he was so happy. He's not ready for anything serious - but he WILL be. Adam agrees - and will take care of everything. Trust me and I'll serve Jack up on a friggin' platter. And much to Adam's disgust, MJ giggles to her stuffed cat - hear that Kitty? Meanwhile, Victor's on the phone with the 'Beacon House' - making arrangements for his son, Adam.

All chuckle as Chance assures his Mom that he can go fix himself a snack without her tagging along - leaving them to discuss how calmly Chance is taking everything. When Kay thinks they need to get everything out in the open, Philip snaps at Nina to back off - don't rush him - let the kid be - don't drive him away the way you did me. Her jaw on the floor, Nina's aghast at his outburst.

DR Liv tells Lily to close her eyes - when she wakes up, it'll be all over. Neil and Devon watch as Lily's eyelids slowly close. While, at CL's, Cane flashes back to proposing - good bye Lily, he whispers - then stands and slowly walks out - his table quickly cleared like he was never there.

Next: Billy approaches Philip SR - we haven't had a chance to talk since your grand entrance ... It's bad, isn't it? Lily struggles to speak through her tears - as a silent Neil sits on her bed ... Mac n' Billy are in Murphy's old trailer. You always wanted a trailer? Mac teases Billy (who says he got it for them - our own private getaway).

My Thoughts: The doctor's office calls Philip to casually give the good news that he's not a carrier of the Huntington's gene? Isn't it usually policy not to give results out over the phone? Does his father not having the gene, 100% rule out the possibility that Chance has it? Shouldn't the symptoms he exhibited that caused the concern in the first place, still be checked out? Or did they magically disappear? Like Nikki and Lauren's anxiety attacks - and Sharon's promiscuity, kleptomania and black outs ... Maybe Adam should call his ADA girlfriend - or his lawyer boyfriend? Perhaps there's something THEY can do about Adam him being shunted off to a half way house against his will? Just like when adopting a mutt from the pound, it's frowned upon to return it when it piddles on your carpet ... Adam whines about being sent back to prison - to the thugs who jabbed needles in his eyes - but when hearing about the 'coddle the blind' half way house, claims he's rather go back to jail - with people he trusts? Huh? ... Oh yeah Adam - Victor's other kids are real 'perfect' ... Why wouldn't Victor talk to Ashley before evicting her 'confidante'? .... Chance didn't tell them he was coming home because he wanted to surprise them? Like father, like son - I don't think the ladies can handle anymore surprises (though, at least this one's good). Why did it take so long for Chance to recognize his father? Since he 'died' so tragically - in an accident, you'd assume Nina kept photos of him out - and Philip certainly hasn't changed his appearance at all. 'It's complicated', Kay says of Philip no longer being dead. Why wouldn't Chance have some questions - as opposed to trotting off to wash up and then grab a snack? Instead he buys his father's excuse that it's too long (and ugly) a story to 'get into' now? How long does it take to say 'I faked my death to run away because I was afraid to admit I'm gay?' Is my room empty? Chance asks Kay - like she's running a bed and breakfast ... Why does Kay scold Nina for saying 'see what you've missed all these years' to Philip? Nina has no right to be pissed off? She raised a child alone - because her husband's a coward. Surely, she's due a bit of venting. And after being absent for 20 years, the Deadbeat Dad now has the nerve to give Nina advice on how to handle 'the kid'? ... I get it that Amber's a big fan - but does she really think Mrs C's 'the most wonderful woman who's ever lived'? Who's second? Mother Theresa? ... Why does Cane feel it necessary to take it upon himself to warn Amber about being a big fat liar? Regardless of what HE'S done, the fact remains that she tricked him into marriage because she wanted a rich husband. Who WOULD want to 'hug' Cane - he's been in the same T-shirt for days now. No Amber - you weren't the one to go around town lying about being the grandson of GC's richest matriarch - but you did go around town pretending to be Marina - and pretending Cane willingly married you. Why is Cane suddenly so intuitive - how can he be so sure Amber's keeping secrets from Daniel? Has he been playing with Jana's Ouija board? Losing someone you love is 'worse than dying'? How does Cane know - he's never died. Sure, breaking up is rough - but in time, you bounce back. Dying? Not so much (unless you live in GC of course - where death is merely a temporary state of being - until you're needed again). He didn't kill me, Philip quips of his son - how ironic would it be for the father to return from the grave, only to be killed by the son he abandoned. ... Gee Lily - I can't imagine why anyone would think you a delicate flower. Why wasn't this big old mass spotted the last time she was pregnant - if it's this advanced, that she's now in excruciating pain, it didn't grow overnight. I didn't recall anything about Liv battling cancer - makes it that much more disgusting that she slept with Ashley's husband while SHE had it. What's up with Liv's weave? Looks like something's nesting on the side of her head. Yes - Lily IS so lucky to have an Aunt on staff at GCM - otherwise, instead of being propelled to top priority status - she'd be waiting in line for treatment - like the rest of the poor schleps who don't have connections ... Yet another brown paper bag of groceries for MJ? How much does Adam think the woman eats? Hasn't anyone noticed the food supply is so rapidly dwindling? And reporting a possible 'security breach' the other day, why have the guards STILL not noticed the blind meals on wheels guy and the cat lady sneaking about? Perhaps DR Donahue can check their eyesight too? ... Jack would have to hire someone to help him enjoy his great life? Like who? A hooker? .... NOW Heather can't get a search warrant - or do anything about Mary Jane? She didn't hesitate when the charges were against a Newman. And she wonders why anyone would think she has a personal grudge against the Newman's. Perhaps Jack should have called Heather BEFORE meeting MJ ... Not sure why Jack's so sure anyone's to blame for Summer's coma - isn't it possible that the child just got into the cookies all by herself? ... Adam doesn't know if Victor's noticed - but Ashley talks to him when he's not around? Duh - if he's not around - how would he notice? ..
