In her hospital bed, Lily appreciates the souvenirs Colleen's brought from Italy - but agonizing over the biopsy, now understands that Cane lied because he feared losing everything he loved (because she feels the same way). If only she could tell him.
Neil plans to take his family to Hawaii once Lily's in the clear - put some distance between her and the man who's name he can't even say. Neil and Devon are left looking worried when Liv heads off to fetch Lily's test results.
At the Estate, Chloe holds Delia while Billy blows out his birthday candles. Jill agrees that it's important that even though they're not together, they celebrate the day as a family. You didn't have to do that, Billy says yet again - when presented with a gift. Hey! A video camera! Hitting 'play', Billy's delighted to see Delia blowing him kisses (as prompted by Chloe). Unfortunately, he's in such a hurry to get to the office he'll have his cake 'to go'. When Mac makes an appearance, she gets a frosty reception from Chloe (which seems to amuse Billy). On her way out, Mac finds Philip at the front door. There to see Nina and Chance, he promises not to make a scene (as Kay's sleeping). Good luck with that, Mac quips as she marches off.
I wasn't expecting to see you, Philip says to Billy (who could say the same thing). But it's good he's there - Billy thinks it's about time he and Philip talked.
At the club, Kevin proudly shows off his inner Chipmunk T-shirt. But it's so much bigger that that - he has a following - and one of his speeches was broadcast on the radio. Mike reports Lauren heard it - said it was very inspiring. Kevin's not doing it for money - but why not copyright it and turn it into something bigger? Be my partner - 50/50 - you in?
While Jill tries to keep the peace, Philip repeats he's there to see Nina and Chance - but invites Billy to go ahead - take your turn. Billy can't judge - he skipped town too - and gets why he ran. He bets Philip hatched his escape when sent to boarding school - nothing says 'unwanted' like a blazer and a one way ticket East. Chloe has to agree on that one. OK - Jill thinks it official - she's a horrible mother. Billy continues to relate with 'Phil' (who left behind a bit more than HE did). Nina and Chance join them to hear that even though Philip sent that jackass in his place, Billy still considers Philip his brother - so, he'll keep an open mind. Hurt Jill and Kay again and I'll kill you - welcome back. Philip appreciates the support - he's not there to hurt anyone.
With Lily worried she'll hear the worst news of her life, Colleen encourages her to call Cane - but Lily can't - she already pushed him away (and Neil and Devon would kill her). Plus - Cane's glad they never had children - and glad she's free to live her life with someone else. I don't want to be free, she cries - I want him here - I'm scared - I don't want to die ~hug~ In the hallway, Devon and Neil aren't encouraged by Liv's grave face.
Mike chuckles at the various slogans Kevin's come up with for coffee mugs, calendars etc - there'll be novelty book of all his Chipmunk quotes. Mike sees he's thought of everything - you're on to something. He'll put up the capitol - now go find a designer. Kevin's already got a successful designer; Amber. Mike's not sure Lauren will want to turn her upscale boutique into some rodent themed Tshirt shop - but it'll be fun asking. Kevin proclaims him a great brother and partner.
How's it going 'Unc'? Chance shakes Billy's hand - while Nina quips that Billy's been partying while he's been fighting for freedom. Before Billy can finish his introduction, Chloe extends her hand - I'm Delia's Mom. You're packing some spark there soldier, she takes both Chance's hands in hers as she flirts. Billy's off - we'll catch up later. At the front door, Jill thanks him for making an effort with his brother.
Lily discourages Colleen from calling Cane - she's got more on her mind. When Colleen leaves to give Neil and Lily some privacy, she spots Liv consoling Devon in the hallway. Back in Lily's room, she assumes it's bad news. Daddy, she dissolves into tears. Neil confirms the biopsy was positive for cancer - Liv's gonna schedule surgery asap. They'll know more when the tumour's removed. This can't be happening, Lily cries. With a hug, Neil offers unwavering support.
Back at CL's, a pumped up Kevin gives Jana a kiss - and a surprise. No - not a new espresso machine - a new venture that'll change their lives. Mike agrees - we'll make a killing on this Chipmunk craze, he goes on to explain. Jana's cautious as the excited Kevin runs off to get her the sketches he's sure she'll love.
Mac arrives to meet Billy at Murphy's old trailer. She wasn't sure she had the right place ~kiss~ He explains he bought the place as a birthday present to himself - a getaway for 'us'. Announcing he has lunch and dinner arranged, Billy gives her a tour of the place.
Billy seems like a devoted father, Nina comments to Chloe. Jill agrees - he loves his little girl. Philip thinks it great that Chloe lets him see Delia. Chloe takes a jab - it wouldn't be fair if he just disappeared. After Chloe heads out to enjoy the day, Nina thinks that a great idea - how about the three of us have lunch el fresco? Jill suggests her grandson would like to get his bearings first. Chance agrees - and heading up to finish unpacking, again stiffly refers to Philip as 'Sir'. Philip would love to have lunch with Nina - see you later Mom. Her nose out of joint, Jill's left to call someone regarding an important family matter that can't wait.
Liv perches on Lily's bed to explain that she has the most common type of ovarian cancer - they'll know more after surgery. When Lily insists on knowing exactly what will be done, Liv explains they'll remove as much of the mass as they can - then determine how far the cancer spread. If the mass isn't 'contained', she gives a long list of what else will be removed. The odds? 45% survival rate. Colleen and Devon are both teary as Lily blubbers.
As Colleen and Devon pace, Liv vows they'll fight - together. After Liv leaves, Colleen steps out for coffee. As Neil rallies the Winter's family, Devon talks of the trip to Hawaii. Lily appreciates their support. We'll be right here with you - every step of the way, Neil assures as Lily bravely smiles through her tears.
As Mac and Billy admire the trailer's skylight, 'CC' calls Billy to report Lily's in the hospital - and why. Billy will give the family some time then come by later. Cane? You've gotta be kidding me. No - Colleen's not. Try the outback, Billy can't help - sorry. He then updates Mac that CC wants him to find Cane. Sure that Cane loves Lily, Mac vows to find him.
Over drinks at the club, Jill talks to Mike about Philip's return - her son faked his death to get away from her. Nevertheless, Jill wants to change her will - immediately.
Still riding high, Kevin shows Jana his sketches. Jana likes them just fine - but how can he profit from other's misfortunes? It just seems wrong. Kevin asks what he could do to make her not totally hate the idea. Donate the profits to charity, Jana requests. All of them? Kevin pouts. Some, Jana concedes - then you won't be accused of cashing in on your crimes. Yes - that WOULD make her feel better ~kiss~
Returning to the living room, Chloe asks if they're already driving Chance to drink. No - he's having lemonade. May he pour her a glass? May you? Chloe's impressed - what a gentleman - you sure you're related to Billy? She accepts a glass - and assumes he's wondering what the deal is with her and Billy. No - Chance figures it's none of his business. When Chloe then prods for his opinion of his Dad, Chance doesn't have one - he just met the guy.
On the CL's patio, Philip whines that Chance barely looks at him - either he's hiding his anger - or has no interest to get to know him at all. Nina's sure he'll come around (and listen to what he has to say).
Jill's assets aren't what they once were- but she DOES own half the estate. Mike assumes she wants to give Philip what she'd left to Cane. No - Jill wants it split 3 ways between her sons. Mike has to warn that it could turn into a probate nightmare. Billy could contest it - or Nina. They won't like anything going to the deceitful Cane. Jill's sure Mike can make it very clear that she's of sound mind when she still considers Cane Ashby her son. She'll always love him as her own.
While Billy protests, Mac's frustrated that Cane's not answering her calls. Billy's then frustrated when Mac grabs her purse and leaves - you might think Lily doesn't need Cane, but you're wrong, she fires in parting.
Back at the estate, Chloe continues to chat up Chance - the Chancellor digs are a perfect place to 'regroup'. Welcome home - cheers. Billy returns to say his meeting was cancelled - so came back to hang out with his little girl. Perfect timing (Delia can be heard crying on the monitor). Chance's left to smile as they both head up to tend to her.
Still on the patio, Philip wonders how Chance will feel about him being gay (on top of everything else). He'll handle it, Nina's confident - you don't know him. He may not want me to, Philip mopes. Nina's just relieved he doesn't have a life threatening disease - the rest will work itself out in time.
Liv consoles Neil in the hospital's hallway. If only Dru were here to help Lily with this battle. Neil didn't think he'd survive losing Dru - and maybe only did so because he sees her in Lily. He weeps at the thought of losing his baby girl. Please God, no.
In Lily's room, Colleen confides to Devon that Lily wants Cane. We should support that. Devon thinks it a bad idea - but do what you wanna do. Lily dials - but getting voicemail, leaves no message. I can't, she says. At the bus station, Cane's pouting at his cell. Slinging his bag over his shoulder and walking off, he's stopped by Mac. You have to stay - Lily needs you, she blurts out.
Next: Deacon, you can't trust him Daniel, Amber warns. You just met the guy - why would you say that? Daniel replies ... She's better off without me - all I do is bring the girl pain, Cane explains. She has cancer, Mac says loudly at Cane's back. Turning, he looks stunned ... At the club, Amber shouts at Deacon - cut the bull - what do you want!?
My Thoughts: Chloe's gonna go after yet another of Jill's 3 sons? She seems delighted to find she's not run out of Chancellor heirs after all - and that she still has another 'Chance' ... Looks like she swiped some extensions from Mac's room too ... How will Jill pay for Mike's legal services? It's not like she's putting many hours in at the salon .... Gosh Liv - when listing off all the stuff they may have to remove from Lily, why not just tell her she has to have a hysterectomy? I guess she it hasn't dawned on her just yet that she wouldn't be able to have kids if that were the case (unless, of course, she had some miracle pregnancy - like Ashley did) .. ... Billy's always wanted a video recorder? Then why hasn't he just gone out and bought himself one? Not like he can't fit it into his budget ... Odd that Kay didn't bother to get out of bed to celebrate her grandson's birthday. Did she and Murph have a late night last night? ... I wasn't expecting to see you, Philip says - who's just popped up after being 'dead' for 20 years. Why wouldn't he expect to see Billy at the home where his mother, grandmother, girlfriend, ex and daughter live - where else would he be? ... How nice to hear Lauren's alive and well - and listening to radio talk shows. Will the 'fun' conversation where Mike asks her to sell Kevin's tacky T-shirts take place off camera? Or will we actually get to see her - and Fen if we're really lucky ... Speaking of kids, Delia's adorable. And it's nice that Chloe put so much effort into Billy's impromptu birthday party (that he couldn't wait to leave so he could meet Mac) ... Philip thinks it just marvelous that Chloe 'allows' Billy to see his daughter - even though they aren't together? Hasn't he heard that a child is entitled to know BOTH parents? And that a parent has no right to restrict access to said child JUST because they're 'no longer together'. Surely family law isn't that backwards in the outback ... If Lily loves her Italian scarf so much, why isn't she still wearing it? Or using it to mop up her river of tears? ... One duffel bag of clothes? That's ALL Cane accumulated in the 2+ years he was in GC? He had a whole box full of stuff from the bar alone. At least he doesn't have to lug around a case of frozen blood anymore. And if Cane's not gonna bother answering his phone, why is he holding onto (and moping over) it? ... Is that the same woman seen twice entering the club while Mike and Kevin are talking about his new venture? ... Kevin's sketches look like he ripped them out of a Fen's colouring book. If Kevin's hired Amber - the 'successful' designer? Why didn't he hire her successful artist boyfriend? And if Amber's so successful, why are she and the talented Daniel living in a shoe box? If Kev's so proud of his Chipmunk T-shirts, why isn't he wearing one? Mike thinks Kevin's on to something? Doesn't he just mean 'on something'? .. Why do these privileged grown up kids all whine about being sent to the finest boarding schools? And why hasn't Noah been sent off yet? He wants his independence right? Give HIM a blazer and a one way ticket East. Surely, the Baldwin's can afford to send Eden too ..... When was Billy partying it up all over Europe? I thought he was off 'working' for Jabot - in Hong Kong? Did Billy change the trailer's decor? It now looks cool/retro funky as opposed to just Salvation Army 70's funky ... Exactly how much of the proceeds does Jana expect Kevin to donate to charity? 'Some' leaves a lot of room for argument. And what charity would want proceeds from Kevin's crimes? I'm losing my bloody mind, says the murderess who avoided charges because of a brain tumour. ' It's insane', the pyromaniac, Chipmunk admits. It's just kinda weird to hear the Fisher's bantering around words like 'insane' and 'crazy'. |
