At Jimmy's, Billy leaves Mac a message - still wanting to celebrate his birthday, he's heading to the trailer - hoping they can hook up - see you there, I hope.
Meanwhile, Mac's at the trailer alright - telling Cane her cell's dead - and that the movies he suggested cheered Lily up. She updates that the surgery's scheduled for today - it's ovarian cancer - Lily may not be able to have kids. Cane puts on his puzzled face - except for some cramps and indigestion, Lily was perfectly healthy. Mac then puts her foot in her mouth - there's no symptoms til it's .... they're hoping they caught it early. Cane can't go to Lily (who pushed him away) - and doesn't see why Mac's helping him - you're a special lady. Mac can't condone what Cane did - but knows he didn't mean to hurt anyone. Mac does plan to tell Billy that Cane's staying there - and also keep Cane posted.
DR Liv arrives with good news - an associate of hers who just happens to be a leading gynecological oncologist is flying over to perform Lily's surgery. Oh the joy! Now sign the forms already. Lily refuses - I'm not having the surgery today.
Placing their order at CL's, Jack and Sharon watch Victor's televised press conference. As they show a photo of Mary Jane Benson, Jack confirms she's the woman suspected of making the accusations against Phyllis (and hurting Summer). Good God - what kind of woman were you seeing? Sharon's horrified. Jack knew MJ was a bit 'off kilter' - but had no idea she was capable of anything like that. Jack then relays their last meeting right here at CL's (where she vanished). He assumes she's long gone. Never mind that - let's just focus on our baby ~hug~ Outside the window, wearing a hat, MJ peers in - crying at what she sees.
Hanging up the phone, Victor reports to Heather and Adam the numerous places MJ's been spotted (thanks to crank calls) - some woman even claims she's hiding in her fish tank. Nothing like a million dollar reward to bring the crazies out of the woodwork. When Heather also offers help from GC's finest, Victor declines - his own (more competent) people are on the case. Aside, Adam couldn't be more delighted with the turn of events - the timing was perfect. We should celebrate, Adam leads Heather upstairs.
Nikki arrives to chat with Victor - hoping they find that horrible woman. Victor believes she could very well be the one gaslighting Ashley. Nikki's pleased - so, it wasn't Estella. Victor still feels an 'insider' was involved - then tells of Adam seeing a woman with long dark hair. Nikki's surprised he saw anything - considering he's almost blind 'n all. Nikki's actually there because of Adam - he's been hiding something - you should know about it.
In Sharon's suite, Jack won't hear of her going to her next ultra sound alone - he'll reschedule his meeting. Our daughter will always come before Jabot. Oh no - JACK'S the lucky one - winning the lottery twice. He loves 'his boys' - but always wanted a Princess. When Sharon gets a craving for peach frozen yogurt, Jack - soon to be Superdad is on the job - back in a jiff. He's such a good man - a wonderful father - I did the right thing, Sharon tells herself - it's best for everyone.
Looking every inch the homeless derelict she now is, MJ pokes through the garbage cans looking for a snack. Crouching down to hide from passers by, she wolfs down the leftovers she comes across - jamming more discarded food into her pocket for later. Coming across an old baby doll, she tenderly picks it up - sadly clutching it to her chest.
Lily explains that after conducting some Internet research, she's aware that she may not be able to have children after the surgery - so, has decided to harvest and freeze her eggs first. Bad idea - Liv explains the hormones needed for that procedure could make her cancer worse. Sure, Liv delayed HER surgery - but that's different - she was already pregnant (and didn't take drugs to feed the cancer). Neil jumps in - surgery today's the only thing that makes sense. Devon protests too - but Lily's mind is made up - I'm gonna harvest my eggs.
Arriving at the trailer - hoping to find Mac, Billy's not all that impressed to find Cane very much at home (as he comes out toothbrush in hand - towel over his shoulder). As Cane assures he's leaving, Billy quips - they teach breaking and entering in con artist school now? Mac doesn't know I'm here, Cane makes matters worse by lying. Billy calls him on it - that's why she didn't want to come back here last night. Cane plans to leave town when he knows Lily's OK - she's the only thing that matters. Agreeing on that point, Billy snarls that no one, including Lily, wants him there - now go! Tail between his legs, Cane obediently leaves.
Neil, Devon and Liv continue to try talk some sense into the stubborn Lily. You don't have to give birth to be a mother, blah, blah, blah. The oncologist will only be here for one day. Lily feels 'ganged up on'. Neil lost her mother - and can't lose Lily too. Claiming she needs time to think, Lily sends her well meaning family out - then grabbing her clothes and purse, sneaks out herself.
You're especially 'peppy' today, Heather praises Adam as they lay naked in bed. He's happy (and apparently it 'shows'). Adam can see light at the end of the tunnel - figuratively of course. Though still trapped in Victor's gilded cage, Adam now feels they're gonna make it. He sees a future for him and Heather - oh, how exciting! Meanwhile, downstairs, Nikki blurts it out - Adam is gay. Whatdidyousay? Victor can't believe his ears. Nope - Nikki didn't misconstrue anything - she knows a kiss when she sees one.
Outside Sharon's suite, Jack stoops down to examine the box on the floor (with the name Sharon Abbott on it). He tentatively moves newspaper aside to remove the dirty doll - it's eyes poked out. What he hell? the looks worried.
Heather hates to play and run - but will call Adam later. I'll be here, Adam quips - his future's so bright, that if he weren't going blind, he'd have to wear shades. Love you, they exchange ~kiss~ As Heather leaves, she bumps into Rafe - No - Adam's not expecting him - he's there for the scoop on the press conference. Still working on his Aunt's case, Adam might be able to tie MJ to Ashley's gaslighting. Victor's not exactly forthcoming, he adds. Adam looks uncomfortable when Rafe comes in - more so when he mentions seeing Heather just leave. About that - we need to talk, Adam looks grim.
Downstairs, Nikki continues to explain that she wasn't spying on Adam - she came by for Victor's clothes - Adam's bedroom door was ajar - that's when the sight of Adam and Rafe burnt large holes in her retinas. Taking it in stride, Victor appreciates Nikki telling him - I'll handle it.
At Jimmy's, Billy confronts Mac on letting Cane stay at the trailer (which he's just thrown him out of). Why did you bring him to OUR place!? He's not your problem. He's a jerk - I'm pissed - I can yell if I want, Billy snaps - You lied to me! Mac was going to tell him today - she's sorry she let him use Billy's trailer - but not sorry she helped him. It's who I am - maybe we shouldn't be together - I thought it was the right thing to do. Lily needs him - she could die - Cane had a right to know. He'll leave when she's OK. He's a con artist - conning YOU, Billy growls. Mac demands Billy let go of her arm, and removing her apron, marches off.
After disposing of the box, Jack returns to tell Sharon he was delayed by traffic - anything happen while I was gone? Visitors? phone calls? Jack's been thinking - move back home with me? Sharon declines - not wanting to give him false hope. She can't love him the way he wants her to. I'm NOT alone! I need to fend for myself - protect me against what!? she's annoyed by his over protectiveness.
'Kitty, kitty', MJ wanders the alley, calling out for her missing cat. She hides as Police saunter by. Oh Kitty - I need you to help me figure out what to do, MJ murmurs as she she rolls the doll's eyes in her hands like marbles.
Rafe salivates as Adam puts his T-shirt on - you're breaking up with me? he pouts. Adam was confused - sorry if I lead you on. Rafe understands - Adam's just not comfortable with his sexuality yet. Adam's not gay - he's attracted to women. Oops, looks like Rafe mistook gratitude for attraction. You used me, Rafe sulks - thanks a lot! Adam will always care - but not in THAT way. I'm so stupid! Rafe beats himself up - but then warns Adam that he's playing a dangerous game - messing with people's lives like this. It'll blow up in his face one of these days, he marches out (as a frowning Victor watches his exit).
In the hospital hallway, Tyra's brought some food over from Indigo - but is told Lily can't eat before her surgery. As Devon goes to put it in the nurses room fridge, Neil updates Tyra that Lily wants to harvest her eggs. Going in to talk to Lily, Tyra soon runs back out shrieking that the room's empty.
Billy's understandably surprised to see Lily walk into Jimmy's. Yeah, she's supposed to be on an operating table - but escaped (because she won't be able to have children if she goes ahead with it) Just a few weeks ago Lily and her husband were planning a family. She's looking for Cane - seen him? I need him. What if he's left town? Billy admits he hasn't. I'll find him, he promises.
You OK? Don't be afraid - I'm not gonna hurt you - what's wrong? Mac gently talks to the woman she finds in the alley. I lost my kitty, MJ cries - but refuses to go to the shelter. Mac encourages her to go to eat - we'll put some milk out for your kitty. OK, MJ sobs. Mac hands her some tissue - dry your tears - I'm gonna help you.
Jack can protect Sharon from plenty of things - name one? Bed bugs. Smiling, Sharon apologizes - blaming the hormones for being overly emotional. I'm a phone call away if you need ANYTHING, Jack leaves. In the hallway, he coincidentally bumps into the person in charge of housekeeping. Arranging to stay in a vacant room near Sharon's, he bills it to Jabot. And handing over some cash, asks that it be kept quiet.
At CL's, Nikki asks Heather to join her - it's none of her business, but she gives a vague warns about Adam. How well do you know this guy? He's not the man you think he is. Heather wanted to give Nikki the benefit of the doubt because she's marrying Paul - but ... Nikki doesn't want to see Heather get her heart broken. Be careful, are her parting words. Heather walks past Rafe - muttering about the 'busybody'. Nikki was warning me about the evil Adam, she confides. Rafe has to agree - he's bad news. You and Nikki can both go to hell, Heather snaps.
In Adam's room, Victor announces that it's over - I what you've been hiding, son - you're gay. Adam chuckles - what would give you that idea? Nikki saw you and Rafe - stop pretending alright? Victor assures he's his son no matter what - you'll always be my son. Now alone, Adam can only sigh at the latest turn of events.
The Winter's clan frantically wonder where Lily could be - it's a matter of life or death! Liv adds to the panic. Meanwhile, as Billy's promising to find Cane, he walks into Jimmy's. Billy steps aside as a weepy Lily launches into Cane's outstretched and waiting arms ~hug~
Next: You sleep with me - your man goes free, Deacon says into the phone. Amber huffs .... I've kissed a lot of the right people, Chance tells Chloe - what are you and ? Chloe cuts him off - by jamming her tongue down his throat (of the CL's patio) ... At Jimmy's Lily speaks passionately to Cane - take me to Chicago - I'll find a doctor who'll help me keep my eggs!
My Thoughts: When Billy evicts him from the trailer, why does Cane leave empty handed? Shouldn't he grab his one duffel bag of belongings? ... Billy's sooo romantic - I worship the ground you walk on - now let's go 'hook up' in my trailer? ..... If Mac's phone's dead, it'd be going straight to voicemail - so why doesn't Billy try reaching her at Jimmy's, the trailer, or the estate? What happened to Mac spending time with the Grandma she nearly lost? Did she even see Kay last night - seems she's been totally absorbed with the Ashby's. Mac didn't do ANYTHING to celebrate Billy's birthday (while his soon to be ex wife threw him a party, complete with balloons, hats, cake and gifts) .. Mac didn't know where else to take Cane? Sounds like he's a stray cat she picked up. How about the upstairs office at Jimmy's? Or - as I already mentioned, the home he OWNS. She IS uber rich - why not get him one of those vacant rooms at the club? (though there's always the danger that Sharon will jump him on his way to the ice machine) ... Neil - knows how Lily feels? Puh-lease - How COULD he? ... Lily shouldn't have had to research online to learn that she won't be able to have kids after the surgery - her Aunt and DR should have been the one to tell her. Or was Liv hoping Lily wouldn't read the small print on the waiver forms? ... Now that the cat's out of the bag (or boy outta the closet), shouldn't Nikki's first priority be telling Paul - so that he can tell Heather. Won't it be even more painful if Heather hears it from someone else that her boyfriend has a boyfriend? (or worse yet - walks in on the lover). Now that Victor's once again convinced that Adam's a good guy, he should ask Daddy to let him lock his door again ... How can Victor make televised accusations against Mary Jane? - based on very little circumstantial evidence? Shouldn't the DA have warned him that it could be considered slander? Defamation of character or sumthin? How is Victor's team more 'capable' than the GC police department? Heather may be useless - but what does Victor have against Detective Wallace? He sure wasted no time coming out to arrest Estella - and to alert Victor that Adam was 'out of bounds' ....When is Victor (or anyone) going to tell Estella that she's in the clear? Lift the restraining order? Give the woman her old job back? ... Finding Lily is hardly a matter of life of death - how many cancer patients are fortunate enough to be diagnosed and operated on within a few days ... Jack loves 'his boys'? Never mind the obvious testicle joke - if Jack loves his sons, why doesn't he ever mention visiting them - or even calling them? Invite them to his weddings? ... Take note of where Heather's looking as she tells Adam he's extra 'peppy' - and again she eyes the bulging blanket as she talks about how evident it is that Adam's happy ... Why does Nikki assume Adam's gay? Isn't it more likely that he's bisexual? ... That old doll must have been quite expensive at one time - cheap dolls have the eyes painted on - not realistic eyeballs. With everyone in town looking for MJ, how does she manage to get outside Sharon's suite? The club must employ the same security company that Victor has at the ranch ... What kind of woman were you seeing? the indignant Sharon looks down her nose at Jack (who apparently likes the kind of woman who lies, steals and has casual and unprotected sex with multiple partners) ... Why does Rafe have to launch into a big explanation on why he's visiting Adam every time he sees Heather? I guess she's suspicious because she knows Rafe's sexual orientation? Even if he wasn't openly gay, you'd assume there'd be gossip around the courthouse (as homosexuality is such a rare and new occurrence in GC). It's odd that Heather and Adam have never mentioned Rafe's preferences - even in passing .... You'd think Victor would need something stronger than a glass of water when learning one of his offspring's gay - but kudos to him for his unexpected reaction. I think Nikki'd hoped for more of a reaction than she got. But why would Victor feel the need to 'talk' to her about it? .... What? You mean DR Olivia Hastings herself isn't a leading gynecological oncologist? How lucky that she has all these great connections ... Why is Devon putting Lily's bag of food in the refrigerator in the nurse's room? How does the brother of a patient have access to a room restricted to the nurses? Good connections at work again ... How on earth did Lily sneak out past the smothering Neil? If they were anxious for Lily's decision regarding the surgery, wouldn't they be waiting right outside? ..... Sharon's right - she IS rarely alone - always tripping over people at the club - or rather, tripping over men (in her bed) ... Why would Jack assume that the well dressed, professional looking African American woman is in charge of housekeeping? I'd love to have seen her give him a withering glare down her wrinkled up nose as she explains she's the president of a company that makes Jabot look like a Mom n Pop operation - but of course, she IS in charge of housekeeping - and of course, she's more than happy to take a bribe to keep her mouth shut. Why is Jack billing his room to keep an eye on Sharon - to Jabot? The room's for personal reasons - not business related. What would the shareholders (and tax man) think of that?
