While, in his office, Victor smiles as he picks up his desk top photo of Sabrina - Nikki's on the CL's patio reminding Paul that today's the one year anniversary of the tragic gala night. She remembers everything about that night - never in a million years thinking David would try to kill her - and that Sabrina would die - caught in the middle. Nikki wouldn't be alive today if it weren't for Paul - if only she listened to him - and Victor. Maybe someday she'll be able to believe she's not responsible.
Outside the estate, Billy makes it clear that Cane's not gonna worm his way back into the family - despite what HIS Mom said. Except for the one lie, Cane claims to be an honest man - didn't he walk away from the Chancellor millions BEFORE the truth came out?! He was a better son to Kay and Jill than Billy EVER was. I was the one they relied on - NOT you!
At the tackhouse, Phyllis has to get to RS - and isn't sure whether or not to run the photos of Summer. Nick agrees to keep them in - to show their faith in Supergirl.
In her suite, Sharon gets a delivery from Fenmore's. Opening packages, the 'Daddy' bib indicates they're from Jack. In the hallway, Jack talks to a club security man about heightening security at the club (due to the horrific contents of the box left outside Sharon's suite). Jack doesn't want the mother of his child to find out that he's staying in this room - Mary Jane Benson is obsessed with him (which puts Sharon in danger). When the man assures discretion, Jack promises Jabot's patronage will continue. As Sharon opens her door, Jack's almost busted (but claiming he was returning a key he found, hands his room key to the security guy). Frowning, Sharon thinks the things Jack sent over are 'too much' - I need some time to myself - stop hovering, she closes her door. Now without his room key, the disappointed Jack asks the housekeeping manager to let him into his rented room.
Not just any minister comes to visit Lily - it's the same one who joined her and Cane in holy matrimony. Unable to have children (and with a better chance of dying than living) Lily has never felt so alone. You're not alone, the Minister speaks of God's blessing - her family and friends - her husband, Cane. He's sorry to hear the marriage is over - but recalling their beautiful vows, and the love between them, asks Lily to trust in it.
Cane blasts Billy for taking things for granted - that's why Mom chose ME over YOU. When Billy reminds that Jill put HIM in charge of Jabot, Cane claims it was political - never mind - ask Jill why she made you CEO. Cane heads to the hospital - leaving Billy to wonder what Cane means.
Back at the tack house, Phyllis is trying to conduct RS business by phone, while Nick plays with Summer. Nick encourages Phyllis to go to the office - he and Summer will be fine. OK - have fun, Phyllis agrees.
Hiding in the alley, MJ hears Mac's voice calling out to her. She's brought a box - blanket, toothbrush, shampoo. Need anything? A shower? Clothes? Go to the shelter - tell them Mac sent you. Your name? None of your business, MJ mutters. And when Mac coaxes MJ to trust her, MJ claims she can't trust anyone.
Gazing out his office window, Victor barks that he doesn't want to be disturbed. Too bad, Jack slams the doll down - cause this is pretty damned disturbing. Victor scowls at the doll with it's eyes cut out - then at Jack (who explains it was left outside Sharon's suite - we both know by whom). Looks like Victor didn't put a big enough price on Mary Jane's head. Jack knows it's MJ - God knows what she's capable of - she must be stopped. Jack feels badly about being the one to bring MJ into their lives - Summer's too. Victor's following up on various leads - and increasing security at the ranch. When Jack points out that won't help Sharon, Victor suggests she move back to the ranch - but yes - it would be awkward (with Nick there). Jack confides he's taken a suite near Sharon's. Both men realize they need to work together - and agree to keep one another informed. Have a nice day. Jack leaves, doll in hand.
As Nick goes through the movie collection, Summer wants to watch 'Mommy, Mommy, Mommy'. Nick pops their wedding video in and cuddles with Summer as he hits 'play'.
Phyllis drops by the CL's patio to praise Nikki on the new RS issue - she's there to get Summer a blueberry muffin. She's doing well with the therapy - it's difficult - but it'll be fine. As Nikki suddenly remembers there's something she needs to do, Paul's left to take a call from someone who's on his way over to meet with him.
Inside, Sharon takes her coffee and greets Phyllis. They exchange pleasantries and updates on Summer (and how helpful Nick's been). Oh my God - there she is, Phyllis runs over and tackles a woman (who resembles MJ). I'm sorry, Phyllis is mortified when she realizes her mistake. When the outraged woman threatens to call the police, Sharon steps in to explain she was mistaken for a woman who hurt Phyllis' child. We apologize. As Sharon tries to calm Phyllis down, Phyllis seems startled by her outburst - I'm an idiot - I need to get home, she hurries out.
On the patio, Jack arrives to discuss Mary Jane Benson with Paul - she's harassing Sharon (he tells her about the doll). Paul confides his and Nikki's trip to Europe - where no one even recognized MJ. Someone's gone to elaborate lengths. Paul feels he's met her before - there's something incredibly familiar about MJ. You? No - Jack has no feeling of deja vu.
MJ doesn't want to hear about the shelter - leave me alone, she snaps at Mac. Scoffing down her granola bar, MJ hides when someone approaches. Billy saunters over - what are you doing back here? Billy then admits he and Cane kinda got into it - we'll talk later. MJ flashes back to Billy being the one to introduce her to Jack. After Billy's sent off with a kiss, MJ comes out of hiding - now believing Mac wants to help her. Yes - Mac really does know what it's like on the streets. I've been so alone, MJ pouts. You're not alone anymore - you have me, Mac smiles (and elicits one from MJ).
Offering support if she needs it, the Minister leaves. Lily needs you, he tells Cane at the door. Rolling over, Lily gives Cane the OK to come in. Now alone, Lily apologizes. For what? Cane takes her hand. I can't have children, Lily bleats. SHE'S the only thing that matters to Cane - he tells her that two eggs were removed and frozen. It's no dream - it's true. The eggs will be there when the time's right. There's still a chance, Lily smiles.
Returning to the tack house, Phyllis updates that RS has put out another blockbuster issue. Nick reports they're watching the wedding video - for the 6th time. Mommy! Summer points at the TV. Phyllis snuggles alongside Summer to watch.
In her suite, Sharon flashes back to her dream of Cassie saying Summer is the daughter she spoke of. You knew Summer would need you the most, Sharon whispers at the framed photo of Cassie she holds. Rubbing her belly, Sharon's sad - knowing they'll have to 'get along' without Nick.
Lily tells Cane that Mac brought a laptop and some movies - maybe we can watch one together? Cane would love to - and if Lily falls asleep, he'll be there when she wakes up. Stay, Lily whispers.
Back in the alley, MJ's afraid someone will find her - but can't go to the police. MJ has nowhere to go - if only she had a place where she could close her eyes. Come with me, Mac has a place no one will find her.
On the CL's patio, Paul and Jack grill Billy on why he hired MJ. HR checked out her references - we wouldn't have hired her if we knew she was a whack job. As Billy then shifts the blame to Jack (who knew her a hell of a lot more than he did), Paul chimes in to say that a pro created her cover - and wanted her at Jabot. Who's she working for? Jack wonders.
Still in his office, Victor flashes back over various meetings with Mary Jane - including his numerous warnings for her to stay away from his family. Then - his press conference - offering a million dollars. Nikki finds Victor deep in thought - if he wants her to go, she will - but she hopes he'll let her stay.
Snuggling on the couch, Summer points again - Mommy Princess! Nick and Phyllis' eyes meet over Summer's head as the video plays on. Meanwhile, a weepy Sharon's also watching a video of her vows with Nick, so many years ago.
MJ hauls her box into Jimmy's - you really own this place? Yes - and Mac's offering the storage room - it's clean and safe. No one will know she's there. MJ thanks Mac with a hug - I really owe you one, she hides an evil smile.
Paul assures he's already working on the case - even though Victor wanted him to back off (until he found out how cunning she is). Just like whoever sent her here. As Paul leaves, he, Jack and Billy all agree to share any information they may come across. After Paul leaves, Jack shares his suspicion with Billy that Victor's behind it - and if he is .... Billy doesn't buy it - it makes no sense. You don't know how this guy operates, Jack insists - and vows to find MJ before Victor does (and before she hurts anyone else).
Sitting across from Victor, Nikki shares that not a day goes by that she doesn't regret letting David Chow into their lives. When people are obsessed, they're a ticking time bomb - she should have known - but was blinded by how she wanted things to be - I deserved your scorn for getting involved with a monster - and ended up hurting everyone I'm close to. We all make mistakes, Victor says - now wants to be alone. Again he's left deep in thought (and looking guilt ridden).
Next: Vikki and JT are on one side of the desk - Billy and Colleen on the other. I have a letter of resignation drawn up and I'd like you to sign it, Vikki says to Colleen ... Colleen? That's who's seat I'm taking? Ashley's puzzled. Yes - she tendered her resignation, Victor replies ... JT implores - don't do it - don't be that person. What person? Vikki asks. Your father, is JT's response.
My Thoughts: Billy sounds like he's about 5 when ranting at Cane - she's MY Mom, not YOUR Mom .. Cane may or may not be right about being a better son than Billy could ever be - but at least he's a better son than Philip ... Sharon's hair looks much better flipped over to the side - even if she can't decide which side to wear it on. Who are you? she looks completely baffled by the concept of having things delivered. Luckily, she had some loose bills for a tip. You'd think Jack would have taken care of that too. Nice that Jack guarantees Jabot's continued patronage - but really - where else would he put his corporate clients? Too bad the club IS so discreet - Victor would have some explaining to do if word got out that HE's the one paying for MJ's suite ... Odd that the Bardwell's haven't heard the press conference - now would be the perfect time to blackmail Victor with that photo of him and Mary Jane hugging - or take it to Jack .... According to the Priest who married Cane and Lily, their love is greater than any of the other many couples he's wed? Doesn't every bride and groom look at one another with love? ... Where's Neil? We know he's not at work. Odd that no member of the Winter's contingent is present in (or hovering outside) Lily's room. Didn't they all promise to 'be there'? Why hasn't Liv explained to Lily that her eggs were harvested during the surgery - and why did they only learn THEN that she was ovulating? They should have known exactly where Lily was in her cycle before going in ... Mac brought Lily 'a' laptop? Who's laptop I wonder? ... Did Summer also lose her ability to 'wave bye to Mommy'? .. Why would MJ need the air conditioning offered at the shelter? She's obviously not hot - wearing a hat and trench coat. Doesn't Mac watch the news at all? And when will Billy mention his connection to this woman who's being sought by the police? ... Doesn't Victor have any actual WORK to do at NE? Looks like he spends his day either looking out the window and moping behind his desk .. If Victor doesn't want to be disturbed, why not just lock his office door? Or have the receptionist actually stay at her desk - where she belongs ... Jack had to carry the dirty doll around town? Couldn't he have put it back in the box? ... Increasing security at the ranch? About time - now, let's see if they notice Adam sneaking in and out - and stopping uninvited visitors before they get to (if not through) the front door ... Won't the health inspector take exception to a dirty, homeless person bunking where Jimmy's stores it's food and beverage supplies? There's no shower there - or Cane wouldn't have needed to stay at Billy's trailer. How can Mac say no one will find MJ at the bar? Everyone in town happens by there - and when they go back for lemons or sumthin', it won't take Jimmy's staff long to learn someone's living in the storage room ... If Sharon's oh so concerned (as her facial expression indicates) about Phyllis, why did she let her drive off in such a state of distress? ... If Nikki and Paul 'just got back from Europe', how did Nikki manage to single handedly put out an issue of RS? ... Paul's instincts tell him that MJ's someone he knows - but don't tip him off that Victor's the person behind is. Jack may not be experiencing any deja vu - but his instincts regarding who's behind it are more accurate than Paul's ... Paul's to drop all his other cases? I'm sure his other client's will appreciate that .. What does Paul carry around in that aluminum briefcase - besides his thinking glasses? Nikki can't imagine how Victor must feel about what she did? Of course she can - he was pretty clear about it when lashing out at her over the past year ... Funny that both Nikki and Jack are steeped in guilt about bringing a monster to town - when Victor, not Jack, is the one responsible for bringing Mary Jane to GC - AND harbouring Adam under his roof. No wonder he feels guilty .. Though Victor's removed Sabrina's portrait and statue from the ranch, does Ashley know he keeps her photo atop his desk?
