The Fisher's visit Daniel - who stuns them with his anger towards Amber (whom he hopes never to see again). Meanwhile, Amber's at Deacon's suite - not for more - he broke her boyfriends heart, so she's gonna break his eardrums. And when will he hand over the DVD that exonerates Daniel - huh?! At CL's, Heather and Mike are watching the DVD on Heather's laptop. Looks legit to Mike - should be enough to get Daniel out of lock up. Come on Heather - have a heart.
Eyes closed, Ashley's lead into the living room for her surprise - again with the office chair - symbolic of her seat on the NE board of directors. Yes - someone's stepping down, Victor confirms vaguely.
On the CL's patio, Billy leaves a message for Jill - we need to talk. Colleen arrives - having been summoned to NE (by Vikki) she assumes she's about to be booted off the NE board. Why? Billy wonders.
JT and Vikki argue over booting Colleen. Never mind that everyone's seen her ta ta's online. Don't be that person - your father, JT implores - so what if it wasn't Colleen's finest moment - he was helping out a friend who was exploited by some loser. What should Vikki do? Stand up to Victor - JT will be at her side - it's not fair to crucify Colleen for a mistake. It's about protecting someone you used to love, Vikki won't budge - it's gotta be done - today. JT can't believe she'd give in to Victor (when he's wrong). HE calls the shots, Vikki points out - anyone who thinks otherwise is naive.
Victor avoids the question of who's stepping down - until Ashley guesses it's Colleen. She tendered her resignation - personal reasons, Victor lies - that's all. Ashley isn't buying it - she took it to honour her father. Victor doesn't think it the right fit - she's the face of Jabot Cosmetics. It's the best solution for all. Resume your rightful place, he encourages Ashley.
On the patio, Colleen tells Billy all about the bartender who played her - got her drunk and dared her to do something uncharacteristic (which was conveniently recorded). Victor's probably behind it (though Billy manages to slide in some grumbling about Cane buying his favourite bar). Hearing that Uncle Jack was coaching Colleen, Billy chuckles at their continued feud - then offers to go along to stand up for Colleen. Those Newman's think they own the world.
As Amber talks about her great relationship with Daniel - and what a creep Deacon is, he knows she likes the bad boys - Daniel's too tame for her. Deacon then guesses Daniel didn't appreciate her sacrifice WE belong together - Mr Milk Toast has no edge. Deacon DID hand over the DVD - perhaps he deserves a thank you (but gets a slap instead).
She'd never cheat on you, Jana assures Daniel - there must be a mistake. No - Daniel's only mistake was trusting (and wanting to marry) Amber - he heard it all on the phone. Jana guesses it was Deacon. She tried to spin it as a sacrifice, Daniel continues - he had evidence to clear him. Kevin recalls Amber struggling with a decision - she was really torn up about it. Poor Amber. Oh yes - poor AMBER, Daniel oozes sarcasm. She does whatever she damn well pleases - and Deacon got what HE wanted - Amber in bed and me in jail.
Mike wants Daniel outta jail - and a public apology. Heather chuckles - Daniel's not in the clear. Daniel was set up - he was telling the truth, Mike insists. But Heather thinks it now gives Daniel motive to kill Balfour. He's no killer, Mike argues - then answers a call from Amber - she's with a man who has a DVD to clear Daniel - bring the police here to make him hand it over. Mike tells Amber that the DA's office already got it - we're on our way. Heather wants to speak to the sender. Amber updates the unconcerned Deacon that he's going to be the one in jail (when Daniel's lawyer and the ADA get there).
No - Vikki won't 'sleep on it'. Knock knock - Billy and Colleen face off against the Hellstrum's. Vikki would like Colleen to sign the letter of resignation she drew up - otherwise she's fired - walk away with some dignity. Colleen rants about Victor wanting Ashley to have the board seat - and getting Vikki to do his dirty work. Isn't there another way? No - Vikki now agrees with her father. That's BULL - you're not a prude, Colleen argues - you've turned into your father. Billy has to agree - why is Vikki going along with it? There IS other options - a public apology. Vikki claims it's not personal - but Colleen's history. Throughout, JT squirms.
Vikki can't blame Victor - did he pour alcohol down Colleen's throat? Ask her to act like a 'little slut'? Hold it, Billy asks what grounds CC's being fired on - moral plenitudes? he scoffs - there wouldn't be a single Newman on the board if that were the case.
When Victor serves Ashley some juice, she chuckles at his attentiveness. Victor assures that he considers Ashley his equal - at work and at home. No - he's not just humouring her. Ashley's his partner in business and life - the board seat is the least he can do to prove his love and appreciation. Near tears, Ash wavers.
Billy verbalizes his list - Vikki's mother's a former stripper. Not that there's anything wrong with that - Billy loves strippers. Your father's been married more times than Elizabeth Taylor - AND he's a criminal. And then there's the centerfold YOU posed for - Daddy had to buy up the magazines. Vikki wasn't a board member then - her decision stands. This WILL cost if Colleen fights back - you'll regret being your father's drone, Billy warns. That's enough, JT finally speaks up. At the door, CC doesn't understand how he came to her rescue at Jimmy's - doesn't it make you sick the way they treat people? Now alone, Vikki thanks JT for standing up to Billy - and NOT standing by CC - loyalty to the family is what matters. JT then tattles that Victor asked him to dig up dirt on Colleen months ago. He ignored it because he knew there was no dirt to find. Then, recently, Victor told him to forget the investigation - and now, Colleen's off the board (and on Viewclick). Yeah, JT DOES think Victor's responsible - don't you?
Heather and Mike arrive to hear Amber tell all about Deacon setting Daniel up. Deacon wasn't in town when that poor man was shot - he found the DVD in a parking lot. He met Daniel while doing business with Vikki and was trying to be a good samaritan. He didn't include a return address because he wasn't sure how long he'd be in town. He blackmailed me into sleeping with him! Amber shrieks - he ensured Daniel knew about it. Deacon admits they have a history - and matching tattoos. Sure, he slept with Amber - but her obsession with him has nothing to do with the disc he found. Heather concludes that Amber's making up theses accusations because she was caught cheating on her boyfriend.
As Daniel continues to rant about Amber (and Deacon) screwing her over, Jana plays devil's advocate - knowing that when you feel you might lose someone you love, you do crazy things. Daniel would rather rot in jail than be with someone who stabbed him in the back.
Guy's a sociopath, Amber hisses to Mike - as Heather verifies Deacon's alibi. In her opinion, Amber's only proven that she and Daniel have issues. Sorry for wasting your time Mr Sharp. Exiting, Mike reassures Amber he'll do anythingeverything he can to help Daniel. Outside the door, Heather opines to Mike that the DVD gives Daniel motive to murder Balfour. Mike wants bail reduced and reinstated - otherwise, he warns she'll lose another case in her already bleak career.
Vikki scolds JT for keeping secrets from her. JT IS telling her - he's telling her NOW - we never used to argue like this, he whines. Things haven't been the same since she was hit in the head in the alley - we're no longer 'in sync'. Once Vikki would have understood what happened at Jimmy's. Bottom line - Colleen's been dealt with - whether JT likes it or not. Vikki also warns JT that he'll have to answer to Victor regarding Colleen's web exposure. JT has no problem with that - and wishes he'd been honest with Victor all along.
Ashley's touched by Victor's offer - and is sorry she's been pushing him away - oh, that he'd do this for her ~sniff/sob~ I'm sorry, she weeps - she's just been so worried about the baby. But now knowing Victor believes in her, Ashley feels strong - thank you so much. Victor doesn't know what would have happened to him if she didn't find him in Paris. Ashley gasps - the baby kicked. Victor places a hand on her belly - Hope - a new start, he too smiles. Victor has to get to the office - but won't be away from his beautiful Ashley for long ~kiss~ Now alone, Ashley again feels her baby kick. I love you, both say as Victor leaves.
Kevin remembers Amber telling him that she'd done terrible things in her life - but being with Daniel made her want to be a better person. This was for you - that should count for something. Mike brings good news - bail. Leaving, Jana says Amber came through for him - she loves you.
Though Amber claims she despises Deacon, he notices she's still there. Everything I loved is gone, she wails - go away and leave me and Daniel alone. I freed you, Deacon says - still got my touch. And yes - he WAS always like this - that's why you get a kick out of me. Go to hell, Amber mutters weakly as she slams out.
Mike tells Daniel he should be out tomorrow- the DA has a DVD that proves he was framed - he's not off the hook just yet - but bail's been reinstated and reduced significantly. Don't thank me - thank Amber - she got the evidence to Heather. Meanwhile, Amber pouts outside Deacon's room - flashing back to a livid Daniel dumping her (and Amber claiming she'd rather be dumped than see him in jail). She gets a call - Daniel announces he's getting out tomorrow - and needs to see her.
At CL's, Billy vows to stand by Colleen - and again compares himself to Cane (the 'suck up'). Billy feels it's his job to protect his family - this fight is far from over.
The Hellstrum's report back to Victor. How did Colleen take it? Not well. Victor now thinks JT has some explaining to do. About what? How come you were so protective of Colleen at that bar - does JT forget who he works for? JT enjoys his job - until it comes to ruining the reputation of an innocent girl. Don't like the way I do my job, JT huffs - I can resign. You do that, Victor agrees. No, Vikki whispers her objection. JT will turn in his keys and badge - then leaves with Vikki on his heels. Victor makes a call - call the board members - all except Colleen (who's no longer with us) - the meeting's tomorrow.
Next: At the estate, Billy gets some shocking news - when Jill confirms that if it'd been up to her, he'd never have been made CEO of Jabot ... Nina tells Chance that his father was the love of her life - I think he still is ... You are carrying my child, Jack says. Sharon shouts - Well, I'm responsible for her Jack! Me!
My Thoughts: 'Victor the regifter' gives Ashley the same cheap chair twice now? ... And Victor's having the board members called for a meeting - that takes place tomorrow? That's not very much notice for busy executives. Aren't board meeting's usually scheduled weeks in advance? (if not at the previous meeting?) Or is everyone expected to drop everything and rearrange their schedules at Victor's whim? ... So - Colleen's peep show is causing so much embarassment to NE that she's being thrown off the NE board - yet her own Uncle isn't even aware of it? And no one at CL's is taking any notice of her either ... Why wouldn't Ashley think to call Colleen, her niece (and former step daughter) to personally ask about her giving up her seat on the board? What will Victor say when they DO have the conversation? It's obvious that it'll come up at some point - maybe at Ashley's baby shower. Colleen's sure to let Ashley know that Victor lied to her ... Colleen's the face of Jabot Cosmetics? Who knew? Then why isn't Jabot all up in arms over this scandal? You'd think that with Colleen representing them, Jabot would have more reason to fire her ... Ashley's still feeling her baby kick? She sure is wasting a lot of money on maternity clothes. Maybe she can give all her baby clothes to Sharon (as she's due around the same time) - unless some baby switch results in Ashley winding up with Sharon's baby ... Why is the ADA and the most infamous attorney in GC playing a DVD that's considered evidence - in such a public place? Doesn't it matter that just anyone can walk by and view it? ... Pregnant in real life, is that any reason for Vikki to be dressed so hideously? ... The head of security's allowed to just saunter out to clean out his locker? Shouldn't someone - like another security guy - be escorting him out? A disgruntled security employee can do a lot of damage ... What JT does in a bar - outside hours is none of Victor's business ... Why is Billy whining about the Newman's owning the world? He's considered an heir to both the Abbott and Chancellor fortunes ... Since a recorded conversation is getting Daniel out on bail, why didn't Amber think to record HER conversation with Deacon? His offhand 'details' remark when she accused him of framing Daniel might be enough to get Daniel completely exonerated .... Mike really thinks Heather would (and should) issue a 'public apology' for accusing Daniel? She's never apologized to anyone else she's falsely accused - like most recently Daniel's mother, Phyllis .... Heather really thinks it a coincidence that the man who slept with Daniel's girlfriend happened to find a DVD to clear him of murder charges? What are the odds of that? How can this woman be so stupid? ...Why is the guard barking at 'Romalotti' that he has 'too many visitor's at once' - aren't THEY the ones allowing the visitor's access to his cell? ... Abby's already such a wonderful and devoted big sister? Oh really - how long before she loses interest? I'm sure the shallow and self absorbed twit will get tired of her baby sister in a hurry - just like she did her million dollar Olympic horse.
