As Mac arrives at Jimmy's, a slightly less drunk Billy all but carries the sloshed Jack out the door (and right past an unrecognized Mary Jane). Looks like we'll need to order another case of Scotch, Mac quips to the bartender. Kay the arrives - there to meet Nikki. Mac expresses surprise that she's marrying someone other that Victor - she thought they'd always be together. So did Kay.
At the club, Paul and Nikki make some last minute wedding plans - he's off to get his tux - and if Nikki has time, she'll get the rings. With the wedding 48 hours away, their parting is more like BFF's than about-to-be newlyweds (as Nikki's smile doesn't quite reach her eyes).
At a nearby table, Lauren's optimistic that the charges against Daniel will be dropped. And while she thinks Daniel should cut Amber slack - for making an 'enormous sacrifice', Mike points out that Daniel sees it as betrayal.
Returning to the apartment, Daniel finds Amber pouting 'n packing. Wait, he says as she gets to the door with a box. Turning, Amber looks hopeful.
Chloe hands the phone to Chance - and when he hangs up, she happily assumes he's getting a life - getting hit on 'n stuff. Sure, she'd love to talk to Chance about the call - waiting on Billy could take hours.
Billy unceremoniously deposits Jack face down on his sofa - so this is what it's like being the responsible one huh? You'll be alright, Billy mutters as he exits. Jack rolls over - and blinks - Sharon? he slurs at the fuzzy image standing over him - before his dead drops back on the cushions.
Back at the apartment, Daniel's only called Amber back to request his key. Near tears, Amber struggles with the key - I can't believe we're breaking up over this - I did it for you. It's not Deacon - Daniel just can't handle it anymore.
Kay asks if Mac's seen Billy much lately - that WAS him in the parking lot she saw, no? He left before my shift started, Mac squirms - then claims a package Kay signed for the other day is for the shelter. From an RV supply store? Billy bought Murphy's trailer, Kay continues to fish - already knowing the answer - Billy's still married - with a child. Kay can live with whatever makes Mac happy - but can YOU? Mac looks guilty and unsure.
According to Chloe, no Chancellor in the history of Chancellordom has ever interviewed to be a cop. Detective, Chance clarifies - adding that he was in the military police force. What Chloe really needs is a truant officer for her husband (who's 20 minutes late for his visit with Delia). Chance doesn't get Billy - with a sweet, beautiful girl waiting for you, why spend a minute somewhere else? Jill comes in - where's Billy? He threw me to the wolves, that's WHAT, she snaps. 'Just returning the favour', Billy pops up behind her to respond.
It's your pattern - hiding things from me, Daniel lectures Amber - your criminal record - raising this kid in LA (Deacon's kid). You were pressuring me into marrying you - and I don't even know who you are! It's really hard for me - it hurts being rejected, Amber wails - it takes longer for her to trust. Well, Daniel's learned that he can't trust HER. As Daniel goes back to his painting, Amber closes the door - and weeps on the other side.
Kay thinks it out of character for Mac to be seeing a married man. Mac feels bad for Chloe too - but she knew all along that Billy didn't love her. Kay's not worried about Chloe - she'll land on her feet - she's worried about Mac - true happiness can only come from living according to your own values. We all make accommodations and sacrifices for those we love - just don't sacrifice yourself.
Billy's ready to take Delia (who's sleeping in her car seat). Victor Newman wants my head, Jill whines. Billy reports to Chloe and Chance that Victor was Jill's 'secret partner' during the Jabot deal. Oh - not to worry - he only told Ashley, the NE board and a few members of the press is all. When Jill whines that no one will hire her now, Billy suggests she can always go back to painting nails - or doing what you do best - even during the recession, he's sure there's a lot of lonely, old wealthy men looking for some company. Jill couldn't look more hurt had she been slapped - my God, you really hate me, she murmurs. Billy shrugs agreement.
Dressed in a robe - and with a towel on her head, the freshly showered Mary Jane caresses the slumbering Jack. Sharon, he sighs and moans - I'd know that perfume anywhere. MJ pulls back briefly - then continues her seduction when Jack whispers 'Sharon - don't stop'.
At the club, Lauren congratulates Paul on his upcoming nuptials ~hug~ she's SO happy for him. Nikki's a lucky woman. Victor? He wishes us well - gave us his blessing, Paul chuckles - he's a 'good guy' - doesn't bother me. Victor will always be the great love of Nikki's life - but their relationship is destructive and painful - Nikki's ready for something better - with me, Paul smiles.
On the CL's patio, Nikki contemplates her ring as Kay arrives - have you called off the wedding? You look so sad. Nikki's preoccupied is all. Thinking about Victor? Kay pries. Nikki's thinking about approaching him again regarding Ashley - but with regards to marrying Paul, Nikki's 'ecstatic'. Sure, it was only a year ago that Nikki called from Mexico - talking about her love for Victor - but she was 'drunk out of her mind'. When Murphy's mentioned, Kay claims it wouldn't be fair to Murphy if she was in love with another man. That's NOT what Nikki's doing - she loves one man only - the one she's marrying in 2 days. If you don't want to stand with me.... I will ALWAYS stand up with you, Kay vows.
Inside CL's, Kevin's been thinking - Jana never answered Daniel's question - would SHE sleep with someone else to get HIM off the hook? If so, Kev's not sure he could forgive her. On cue, Amber arrives - with a box of her belongings and a long face. Daniel just needs time to get the image out of his head, the Fisher's encourage - come home with us. Daniel will come around - until then, we'll have a slumber party, Jana enthuses.
Mike brings bad news for Daniel - the DA's going forward with his case. They're using the DVD of Balfour as motive for murder - Mike will use it to establish reasonable doubt. Amber not here? No - she doesn't live her anymore, Daniel announces tersely.
Jill sneers - Billy always runs from responsibility. Billy doesn't run from anything - he was SENT to nannies, then boarding school. Jill did her best. Well, your best sucks, Billy concludes. That's enough - don't talk to your Mom that way, Chance interrupts. Billy poses a question to Chance - Mom let her business partner use me as a pawn - what should I do about that? Chance still feels he owes his mother an apology.
Jack awakens, nude except for a blanket, and with a splitting headache. No - I couldn't have dreamed all that - Sharon? He finds a note - under a cat's tail paperweight. I knew you were still in love with me, it reads. Jack then flashes back to MJ insisting the cat's alive. Realizing what's transpired, he looks stunned and violated.
Back at the bar, Mac thinks Mary Jane looks great. She happily reports she reconciled with her husband - he's a sweetheart - he'd never lay a hand on me (not in anger anyway). Mac's puzzled as MJ heads up to pack her things. She then leaves a message for Billy - something a little weird just happened with that homeless woman - talk to you when you get here.
Jill doesn't think apologies work when the wounds are this deep. Would Billy feel better if Jill said she was sorry - because she IS sorry he felt alone and unwanted as a child. I'm sorry - feel better? Is the anger and resentment gone? Or are you still clinging to it like a security blanket? You don't WANT to put it behind you - then you'd have no excuse for all your failures, Jill accuses. Stop it, Chloe referees - then defends Chance when Billy rants at (him for getting involved). Chloe's no big fan of Jill's, but she IS a mother - and makes mistakes every day. Yeah - but will you throw Delia over for some slime ball con artist who says he's your kid? Like my Mom did? Billy won't forgive her. Kay arrives - warning Billy to rethink that - or believe me - you'll live to regret it.
Mike dissuades Daniel from going after Deacon - and adding assault and battery to his charges. It's a bad idea. Amber regrets sleeping with the man, Mike's sure. She's been lying for a long time - THAT'S why we broke up, Daniel confides.
Amber wails to the Fisher's - who send her home to their place for a nice bubble bath. Sniffling, Amber goes over to Lauren - about the jackets - she's 'in the process of moving' ... So sorry, Lauren gives her a hug. Amber's not sure when she can get the jackets done - with no design space. Fear not, Lauren might just be able to help her with that.
Kay warns that Billy's the only one who'll suffer if he doesn't let his anger go - it'll eat you alive. So many people love you - you have much to be grateful for. Your feud with my mother is older than I am, Billy points out. Exactly - Kay loves Billy - and doesn't want him to have regret (like she does). I DO have your best interest at heart. At least someone does, Billy pouts. A lot of people do, Chloe chimes in - then sends Billy off with Delia. When Kay turns in for the night, Chloe quips that Detective Chance has just dealt with his first domestic disturbance. Chance shouldn't have interfered - that wasn't fun for you, he knows. Billy may break her heart - but deep down Chloe knows he's a great guy. You guys are opposites. You're Mr Law and Order - Billy bends the rules like they're balloon animals. She wonders what Billy'd be like if he had Chance's upbringing - sure that Billy sees 'what could have been' when he looks at you. Chance hopes not - that'd be sad. Chloe's jealous of the girl who'll snap him up. And as she gives him a kiss, Chance looks deeply into Chloe's eyes as he caresses her face.
Daniel's lonely and alone in his apartment - picking up a leftover faux leather jacket (and flashing back to the good times - when he first wore it), angrily he tosses it into a cardboard box.
Lauren reports that Mike's fine with Amber using his home office - we need to get those jackets into the store. With another hug, Lauren leaves. On her way out the patio, Lauren asks Nikki if she's excited about the big day. Of course - Nikki's just caught up in all the details. Lauren wishes them the best - bye. Now alone, Nikki makes a call - oh good - the store's still open - she'd like to stop by and pick up her wedding rings.
Meanwhile, Paul's at the club's bar - talking on the phone to his brother (who's flying out for the wedding). Patty's not returning his calls (or emails) either. Maybe she wants to steer clear of GC (and all the bad memories there). Paul then gets an urgent call from Jack (who needs to see him asap) You wouldn't believe it if I told you, he says.
At Jimmy's, Mac interrupts MJ (who's smiling at the home pregnancy test she's picked up). Tell me more about your husband, Mac invites. Isn't that your boyfriend? MJ spots Billy come in - complete with Delia in her car seat and a flowered diaper bag over his shoulder. After Mac goes to greet him, she notices 'that homeless woman' has left - oh well, we'll talk about her tomorrow. No, Billy hasn't had a chance to tell Chloe about them. Grandma knows - she guessed, Mac's sure others will too soon. Billy just needs a little more time - Chloe could run off with Delia, he frets - she's obsessed with me.
Chance has an eyelash on his fingertip - make a wish. Chloe does - but will never tell what she wished for. And as Chloe walks out, Jill returns to give Chance a good night ~hug~ Kay walks in - glad to see Jill's back. She announces she spoke to Billy - and told him to forgive Jill. Did he fall down laughing? Jill wonders - that request coming from a woman who's made it her life's work to tear Jill down? Kay thinks it sad that she's wasted opportunities to do something positive with her life. Who knows what she could have accomplished if she hadn't wasted years blaming Jill - and faced the truth that her marriage to Philip wasn't strong. Jill's astounded to hear that Kay's not sure she ever loved Philip as much as she hated Jill (for taking him away from her). Jill's horrified - you called me a tramp for stealing the man of your dreams - and now I found out you never gave a damn about him? That Kay wanted Philip as a trophy - a possession -but not as a husband. I freed both of you - and you punished and shamed me for years! Oh my God - of all the cruelties Jill suffered at Kay's hands - and now she admits it was all for nothing - this is the cruelest of all! Jill stomps off - leaving a troubled Kay to regret the admission.
Next: Victor sets Nikki straight - Paul is a very good man - he loves you far more than you love him ... Paul's disgusted by what Jack has in his hand - it's a dead cat's tail, Jack explains - this woman is deranged ... Nikki smiles at Paul - I can't wait to take the final steps of that journey - down the aisle tomorrow.
My Thoughts; Drinking establishments have an obligation, by law, to stop serving patrons who are obviously inebriated. Jack should have been cut off a long time ago - but I highly doubt the Abbott brothers drank an entire case of Scotch .... ... How would Mac know Nikki's 'usual style'? She hasn't even been in town for 6 years (and before that, she was a teenager - and didn't have much contact with Nikki) ... Mac talks of Victor and Nikki's marriage(s) like they haven't been divorced for years - they've had 3 marriages, soon to be 4 between them since splitting up ... After living with Daniel for months, Amber only has ONE box of belongings to move out? Poor girl looked so hopeful when Daniel called her back - but was disappointed when he asks for his key back. Wouldn't he be better off just changing the locks? You'd think he'd have done so anyway (having been broken into at least once - and knowing someone's been in to hide stuff behind his walls) .... Didn't Jack just tell Sharon that there's NOTHING she could do to make things right with him? And tell Billy and Phyllis that he's over Sharon? Guess he's not. Where did Mary Jane get Sharon's robe - perfume from? She moved all her stuff out of Jack's. Jack 'would know that smell anywhere'? Too bad he didn't recognize it on Billy the night after he slept with Sharon - instead, he only knew that it was 'expensive' perfume .... Why is Billy driving Delia around town so late? After drinking beer and Scotch with Jack? Then taking his daughter to a seedy bar? And of course Mac's surprised to see Delia there - it's way past her bedtime and the shadiest bar in town isn't exactly a place for Daddy/daughter bonding. ...... Jill may have been 'thrown to the wolves' - but she's still wearing faux leopard. Guess she'll be calling Mike to redo her will yet again - cutting Billy out in favour of the con artist she's not related to and the son who faked his death because he's gay ... Yeah Paul - Nothing like your ex wife jumping out of a cake at your bachelor party. But it's nice to see Lauren IS alive and well ... Paul thinks Victor's a 'good guy'? Hasn't he read Ruthless? And seen the way Victor's treated Nikki the past year? Sad that Paul's resigned to the fact that HE'LL never be 'great love of Nikki's life' - shouldn't he at least be motivated to try? If not, how does he figure he'll give Nikki 'more' and 'better'? .... Nikki's only NOW asking Kay to stand up for her? 2 days before saying 'I do'? ... Awakening in nothing but a blanket, Jack realizes he 'couldn't have dreamed all that'? Surely there ARE ways to confirm he just had sex - check the couch for spots - get in the shower (which you'd think he'd want to do right away under the circumstances) .... Why is Mary Jane parading around town like her face hasn't been plastered all over the news? Like there's not a million dollar reward for her arrest? Adam DID tell her about Victor's televised press conference .... Jill's sorry she raised Billy 'that way'? According to Billy - that's the whole problem - she DIDN'T raise him ... Why does Billy call Delia 'Kid Rock'? The poor kid was better off with the nickname 'Booger' - I guess they can't call her Little D anymore because that's what Eric calls his kid (whom he's rumoured to be bringing to GC) ... Kay thinks Chloe will always 'land on her feet'? Doesn't she usually land on her back? ... You can make your own crude jokes about Jill's whining that Victor Newman 'wants her head' .... What makes Billy think that Chloe's obsessed with him? She's been very sane and rational lately - throwing him a birthday party was a nice thing to do - she didn't even pressure him to stay or anything.
