Awakening and climbing out of bed, Ashley finds Adam conveniently walking by her room. Hauling him inside, she stammers as she asks if she got up last night - did we talk? The sedative she took gave her some bizarre dreams. Adam informs it was no dream - she was talking about Victor going back to Sabrina. Downstairs, Victor's summoned Nick and Vikki over to relay that Nikki's called off the wedding and left town.
At the chapel, Paul tells a florist that the wedding's not happening - sorry to waste your time. Father Todd comes along to sit with the sniffling Paul in companionable, supportive silence.
When Billy arrives at the estate early, Delia's sleeping, but sure, he'll wait around. When Mac comes down, Billy notes she looks beat - then smirks when Mac explains she didn't get much sleep last night. When Chance arrives with Kay, Chloe correctly guesses he got the job ~hug~ He's the newest member of GCPD - a detective. No offence to Billy, but Chance just wouldn't be happy pushing papers at CI. Chloe's delighted - why, that's just what Mac said. You kids - like peas in a pod.
Cuffed at the station, Sharon tells Rafe that she doesn't want to use her own attorney because this was just a simple mistake - it wasn't intentional - a pregnant lady trying to outrun a security guard - I mean, come ON. Sharon's called Jack but isn't sure he'll show up.
In Ashley's bedroom, the supportive Adam offers to help her sort it out - tell me what you remember. Ashley looks like she's seen a ghost (or run one over).
Victor explains that Nikki came by last night - no one knows where she's going. Why did she come to you and not us? Vikki wonders aloud.
Kay watches on as Chloe straightens Chance's tie - go knock em dead Tiger. After Chance heads off to work, Chloe rejoins Billy and Mac to say that Chance has 'got it bad' for Mac. Funny, she didn't get that vibe. No, There were no 'goo goo eyes', Billy also disagrees. Huh? Delia's awake? Chloe didn't hear her. Billy and Kay did - and with a look of annoyance, Kay leaves Mac to pressure Billy (to tell Chloe about them). Billy needs more time ~kiss~ He's off to see Ashley - Victor will have no choice but to let him through the front door this time.
Jack arrives at the station to have a private word with Rafe's new client. Sharon can skip her 'this was a mistake' spiel. Jack will do what he can to help - but no longer has it in him to take her in his arms and 'make the world go away'. Sharon doesn't want him to call Baldwin (who's sister she framed for theft). Sharon continues to insist this was a 'fluke' - she went to therapy. Not even for a whole session, Jack knows. What!? She divulged my personal information!? Sharon's flabbergasted. Unless she wants to deliver her baby in jail, Jack firmly insists - YOU NEED HELP.
I didn't see this coming bro, Paul realizes he should have - Victor has this hold on Nikki. It won't be easy to get over this - but Paul will. Nikki, on the other hand, is trapped. Paul weeps - I tried to make her happy - didn't judge her - just let her be. That's why she loves you so much - too much to let you commit to a life less than you deserve. Father Todd then tells the tale of a man who's wife left him after 30 years - she knew walking down the aisle but never had the guts to tell him. Nikki did the kindest, bravest thing she could.
When Vikki presumes to know why Nikki came to HIM, Victor tells her not to jump to conclusions. No, he won't divulge what they talked about - but if he talks to her, will tell Nikki the kids love her very much. And now, he's off to tell Katherine. Now alone, Vikki's figured it out that Mom told Dad she loved him (and he shut her down). He DOES have a wife and baby on the way, Nick reasons - someone CAN be the love of your life - doesn't mean you'll spend your life with them. Worried Ashley might overhear, they leave.
The distraught Ashley tells Adam about her dream - Sabrina said her baby's gone. She was driving in the rain - she could barely see - then lost control of the car. She saw Sabrina on the road - I think I hit her. It FELT real. Adam will go check to see if the car's in the garage. Don't worry - he won't say a word. When Billy comes knocking, he's taken aback when Ashley catapults herself into his arms - sobbing.
Jack leaves a message for Baldwin - then recognizing the man who accompanies Detective Wallace as Philip Chancellor, introduces him to Sharon. Gill's showing him the ropes. Though initially sure this little mix up can be easily cleared up, Sharon's stunned when Rafe informs she'll likely have to spend the night there. In the hallway, Jack calls Nick to say Sharon's been arrested - and frankly, he's running out of ways to get through to her.
Back at the estate, Kay and Mac discuss the vague details of Nikki's wedding being called off. Chloe ends her call to turn her attention to Mac - you're gonna love me - I just made you a star. Seems Chloe's arranged a layout in RS - featuring GC adventurers - those who volunteer in Darfur - or fight the war in Iraq. How sick is that? Mac and Chance? Kay sounds skeptical (as Chloe continues to blather on enthusiastically). As Mac goes for a walk, Chloe assures Kay that she'll come around. Victor then arrives to drop the bomb on Kay - Nikki left GC.
Ashley gives Billy an earful. She blames her emotional state on many things - Zapato's death (which she feels responsible for) - not being able to 'be there' for Abby (who can't see her like this) - letting Billy and Jack down (at Jabot) - and the worst thing - her husband setting Colleen up. Last but not least, Ashley can't sleep due to nightmares - but can't confide in Victor. Billy thinks she needs to get out of this place - I'm taking you home.
Father Todd helps Paul realize that Nikki didn't do this lightly - it's a lonely road she's taken. Paul doesn't get it - we were great together - Victor treated her like dirt - why would anyone want to put up with that? Is it an addiction? A calling, Todd corrects. This is God's plan for Nikki? Paul balks - a toxic, dead end relationship? And as the brothers continue to analyze the break up, Vikki arrives to say how sorry she is.
When Nick thanks Jack for calling, Jack hopes he doesn't regret it - Sharon's very fragile right now. This is a reaction to you and Phyllis renewing your vows - she needs professional help. Get her to see THAT, Jack implores. And when Nick goes in to see Sharon (who's just had her mug shot taken), Sharon's not impressed that Jack called him.
Ashley rejects the idea of going home with Billy - what about Abby? Victor? Who's the 'control freak now'? Billy's the one packing her stuff and ordering her around. Stop it, please. Ashley's OK - it's the sedative - and hormones. Billy wonders what she's so afraid of. It's nothing - it's all in my head, Ashley sighs. Billy just wants to help - tell me what's going on. I see Sabrina, Ashley finally blurts out.
Adam inspects the car Ashley thinks she drove last night. Feeling his way around the inside, he sits in the driver's seat. Where'd you go last night crazy girl? Were you nuts enough to drive this car?
When Kay tells Victor that Nikki claimed to be in love with Paul, he feels the fact that they had that conversation indicates Kay had doubts as well (about the relationship). Victor feels badly for Paul 'nice guy' Williams. Kay knows there's more to Victor's story - we both know why Nikki bailed out. That woman still loves you. Don't you dare say that doesn't mean something to you.
Go home and live your own life, Sharon is NOT self destructing - or falling to pieces without Nick. It was just a mistake! Nick was wrong about her stealing Victor's wallet - and he's wrong about THIS. OK - Nick believes her.
Ashley confides the nightmares have been going on for months - Sabrina was saying horrible things to her last night. She dreamt she hit her with a car. That'll teach her, Billy quips (though doesn't amuse Ashley). Billy concludes that it was just a bad dream - she didn't hurt anyone. She's dead, he gestures animatedly as he likens Sabrina to a cartoon character - you can do whatever you want to her in your dreams. You're so weird, Ashley gives Billy an appreciative hug. It's gonna be OK, Billy assures - as they exchange 'I love you's'.
Adam now inspects the car's exterior for signs that Ashley drove it - and on the front bumper, finds a dent. I'll be damned, he mutters in surprise.
Back at the station, Detective Gill takes the bagged ring from Rafe - and explains the procedures for putting it in the evidence room to Chance. Can I see that? Nick examines it briefly - and after handing it back, asks for a moment alone with Sharon. Nick then states the obvious - it's the same ring he gave Phyllis when they renewed their vows.
Unsure of what exactly to say, Vikki tells Paul that it would have been an honour to have him to join their family ~hug~ Paul thanks her - then sends Father Todd back to his duties (hearing confession) ~hug~ Left alone, Paul sheds a few more tears as he plucks a white rose from an arrangement - and places it on the alter's bible. Good bye Nikki, he walks out.
Victor reminds Kay that he has a pregnant wife at home. Nikki didn't ask him to leave his family. She told you she loved you, Kay guesses. When Victor won't say how he responded, Kay also guesses he denied his feelings for Nikki (and regrets it). Victor regrets her leaving so suddenly - depriving him of the chance to say everything he wanted to.
Chloe finds Mac reading a copy of RS - picturing yourself on the cover? No? Oh come on - it'll be fun, Chloe encourages. Say the name Chance one more time and Mac won't be responsible for what she does. And when Chloe does so, Mac blurts out that she's with Billy - we've been together for a while now. Chloe couldn't look more stunned.
Billy summons Jack over to the club to confide that Ashley's losing it - big time. Meanwhile, Adam reports back to a more rational Ashley. But the effects of Billy's visit don't last long. Adam doesn't quite know how to tell her this - there's a dent in the car's fender. But don't worry - he won't tell anyone she left the house. I didn't leave the house! Ashley barks. But Adam saw her leave. True, he's blind - but he knows her shape; her perfume. He heard her leave the house. The nightmare WAS real - I think you killed Sabrina!
Next: Father Todd takes notice when the woman on the other side of the confessional (Mary Jane), confides that she has a brother who's a Priest in Detroit ... You definitely hit her, Adam insists. Sabrina is DEAD, Ashley reminds. Maybe not, Adam replies .... What are you suggesting? Jack asks. Billy thinks Ashley needs to be committed.
My Thoughts: The GCPD doesn't have a promote from within policy? They'd rather hire some new rookie (who's only experience is within the military) than reward an officer within their own precinct? One who's worked his way up the ranks - and is familiar with the city and his fellow officers. If so, then Gill wouldn't be having to explain Evidence Procedures 101 - or showing Chance 'the ropes'. Oh, and here's where you put your lunchbox - and we only use black pens to write tickets - not red. Oh well - at least Chance knows where to get a mandatory box of donuts ... I guess a doctor can have his privileges reinstated - just like a doctor at GC Memorial? Father Todd's allowed to walk in from parts unknown and immediately jumps in on the interesting side of the confessional booth? Do the parishioners know they're confessing all to a stranger - as opposed to the trusted preacher they flock to hear sermons from each Sunday? .... How does Father Todd know Nikki was praying before she dumped Paul? She likely used up her allotment of praying this month at the hospital's chapel ... If RS's looking for do gooders? Why not give Raul a call? Doesn't Chloe think it more likely that Mac will bite at the man she professed to love (and was engaged to ) - rather than a stranger? ... Did Victor even bother to mention to Nick and Vikki that his beloved dog (whom Nick once cared for in Victor's absence) has been killed? And with the void of 'mans best friend' to fill, shouldn't Victor invest in a good guard dog? It seems that Ashley's more upset over Zapato's loss. Will there be no burial in the woods? No statue erected in his memory? ... How does Chancellor Industries stay afloat? It's latest CEO, still in training, has bailed out to hover over his ailing daughter - and it's owner is willing to offer any family member, regardless of inexperience, a cushy job. Does Kay know that Neil's loitering at Crimson Lights - instead of caring for Lily? She didn't give him a leave of absence to drink lattes with Tyra ... Duh Sharon - no thief bargains on outrunning a security guard - the goal is to steal the merchandise without the guard even noticing ... If Ashley's memory's so foggy that she isn't even convinced she left the house - HOW does she know she lost control of the car? ... With the ranch under heightened security - and only accessible to immediate family, how did Billy manage to get inside - and upstairs to Ashley's room (without encountering anyone - like perhaps, Adam) ... How did Jack recognize Chance? Never mind that Jack and Nina weren't exactly close, Nina didn't even raise her son in GC. Is Billy so busy making up for lost time with Mac in the trailer that he hasn't bothered to tell Jack that his brother's back from the dead after 20 years - or that his nephew's returned from Iraq? ... Does Billy know his brother's gay? I'm expecting some much needed comic relief ... How convenient that Ashley parked the car within the boundaries Adam's ankle monitor is allowed ... But how does he know he's checking the right car? Obviously, he's blind - but Ashley didn't even tell him what colour, or make of car she was driving. Have the diligent security team noticed Adam creeping around? ... If Nikki left 'so abruptly' - before Victor said everything he wanted to say, why didn't he just call the cell she's carrying around to order taxi's? Ask her to come back and finish the conversation? ... Have a great weekend folks!
