At the club, Jack and Billy mourn the loss of their father - on the third anniversary of his death - hopefully Ashley will come to the cemetery (though she rarely leaves the ranch these days without 'the mustache'). They hope to talk to her privately - about moving back in with them. Billy's worried - she's so out of it she doesn't know what's real anymore. Jack recalls the time when Ashley cradled her blanket 'Robert'. We HAVE to get through to her - convince Ashley that her loving family can help her in ways Victor can't.
Laying in bed, Ashley flashes back to driving (the night of the storm). All dressed for his meeting, Victor perches on the side of the bed to bid his darling a good morning. It was so wonderful to have her sleep in his arms last night. Ashley pretends to be feeling 'much better' - but hugging Victor, her smile fades (as she flashes back to hitting 'Sabrina').
Mike's called Gloria over. She too is thinking of John - the love of her life. She loves Jeff - but John treated her like a queen. He spent his last days in prison because he defended her against Terrible Tom. Mike segues into asking about Tom (and the guy who Kevin believes is his long lost brother). Cut to Ryder - incarcerated and in the mandatory orange jumpsuit.
At CL's, Kevin updates Daniel that Ryder isn't Deacon's friend - and he confessed - but didn't mean to kill Balfour/Alken's. He's been the victim of abuse - AND - there's a chance they have the same Dad. Where did Kev get a ridiculous idea like that? Kevin explains the coincidences - but the bottom line is Daniel could be off the hook for murder. Daniel's not convinced - it all leads back to Deacon.
A grumpy Amber's welcomed into Deacon's suite - since they're gonna get married, he figures she should be sleeping there (as opposed to the Baldwin's inflatable bed). Daniel? It's 'in the works'. Deacon's awaiting confirmation that he'll be off the hook. But Amber better not renege - or he'll drop Daniel right back in it. Good thing Wisconsin doesn't have the death penalty.
Ashley's surprised to get a visit from Jack and Billy - of course she remembers it's the day their father died. When the boys invite her to join them at the cemetery, Ashley scolds them for using the anniversary to manipulate her - shame on you!
As Abby's about to leave, Colleen asks her to come to the cemetery (but she's hoping to go with her stressed out Mom). Exchanging farewell 'I love you's', Abby agrees not to mention JT being there.
On the CL's patio, Vikki and JT agree on an early dinner. JT's meeting with Paul - trying to track down MJ. Queue the tension. JT wants MJ caught before she hurts someone else. When Paul arrives in time to see Vikki march out, JT admits they aren't seeing eye to eye - especially when it comes to Victor. Paul can relate - no, he hasn't heard from his former fiance. JT updates that Mac took in who she thought was a homeless person - he showed Victor the note (but he denied involvement). Something's off here - and JT wouldn't put anything past Victor.
At the club, Victor meets with his hired PI - a picture's worth a thousand words - what's THIS worth to you? Victor scowls at the large pictures in the envelope - then hands over an envelope of cash and orders the guy to keep his mouth shut. Now alone, Victor makes a call to his 'darling'. Come to the restaurant - there's something they need to talk about.
Gloria's horrified - a son of Tom Fisher's may have killed someone? Of course Tom had other women - he was in and out all the time (the 'out' times were the best for her and little Kevin). Sometimes Tom brought back a souvenir - shot glasses. No, she never confronted him - just cleaned the lipstick and cheap perfume off his clothes. He never griped about having another mouth to feed - but Glo wouldn't be surprised if Tom had other kids out there.
Agent Grimes comes to thank Kevin. Looks like they have their shooter. Ryder knew things no one else would know. Grimes anticipates that the charges against Daniel and Jana will be vacated. After he leaves, Daniel's not so sure it's all over. Some brother Kevin didn't even know he had shows up to get him off the hook? Daniel won't drop it til he knows what Deacon really wants.
Deacon mauls Amber as he talks of potential honeymoon destinations. Amber doesn't want a fancy wedding - there's nothing to celebrate. Deacon wants a real marriage. History proves they have chemistry. He knows and accepts Amber - can she say the same for Daniel? Thought not. Deacon even loves that little black heart she tries to hid from everyone. Feeling Amber deserves a proper proposal, Deacon pops open a little black box to reveal a ring - Ambrosia Moore - will you marry me?
Jack continues to work on Ashley - didn't he promise Dad he'd look after this family? No, he wouldn't be happy with how things are going. Ashley becomes understandably agitated when she sees Sabrina in the doorway. No, no, she mutters frantically - leave me alone! Catching on, Jack asks if she sees someone - in the room with us? No - Ashley's just tired - she's NOT hallucinating again! She assures her brothers that things are better. She won't let jack lock her up (like he did Sharon). She can see it in their eyes - they're judging her sanity. Get out - please. I don't want to go with you. Go! Go!
In parting, Jack gently assures Ashley that both he and Billy love her ~hug~ Outside, Jack realized that it wasn't working - they need to think about a different approach. Last thing Jack wants to do is push Ashley over the edge.
On the patio, JT and Paul both end their calls. Nothing's going Paul's way - no word from Nikki - nothing on MJ - or his sister. Todd's not saying much - so Paul guesses Patty confessed something, got scared off and left town. MJ should have left town too. Something's keeping her in GC - but what? Time to hit the local hotels and motels. JT gets a text message from Colleen (who hopes their time together didn't cause headaches for him at home)
Vikki frowns at the photo - you had JT followed? You thought my husband was having an affair and you didn't tell me about it? Victor had NO idea - he had JT followed for info on MJ. Vikki can't believe this. Victor doesn't think they slept together - they knew Abby would show up (he hands over a photo of the trio at the door). Vikki's voice is shaky as she wonders if JT slept with Colleen another night. She'll handle it from here.
Ashley reassures her belly that she won't let them lock her up - if only Sabrina would leave her alone. Getting a call from Abby, they arrange to go to the cemetery together. Victor arrives - he'd totally forgotten it's the anniversary of John's death. Ashley admits she forgot too - oh what a horrible daughter she is - but oh, how she misses her Daddy - he was a great man.
Jack wraps up a call with Traci - then is pleased to get a visit from the ghostly John. He couldn't stay away - with Ashley going through so much. Jack's not sure what to do - but wants her out of the ranch. He won't make decisions about Ashley based on his hatred for Victor. She needs professional help - but won't accept it. And Victor's no help at all. What if she hurts herself or the baby? John advises Jack to make a choice and let it play out. As the patriarch of the family, Jack KNOWS what to do - what's best for his sister. Don't let fear stop you from making a move, John advises - the answer is in your heart.
Visiting the Baldwin condo, the Fisher's are delighted that Jana and Daniel are off the hook - but not happy to hear Mike's sticking to his promise to Lauren - no more pro bono work. But what if he's my brother? Kevin balks. Glo chimes in that she wouldn't be surprised if Kev has a brother - though Mike doubts it. Kevin has to wonder if all he went through was to bring him to this place - helping others - like Ryder? Mike feels' it stinks to high heaven' either way - stay away from him.
Ryder calls - I did it - I confessed - I'm in jail - as planned. Deacon's in a hurry to get off the phone - I'll call you later. He then chides Amber for not wearing the ring he gave her. Daniel arrives - and invited in, just came to say the charges against him have been dropped. Your friend Ryder confessed. Oh - the guy who asked him for a job? That's strange, Deacon fakes a puzzled look - then offers congratulations. Daniel knows there's more to the story (and he vows to figure it out). Nice rock, he snipes. Daniel doesn't know what kind of deal Amber made with Deacon - but she can walk out with him right now. You don't have to do this.
At the club, Paul and Jack drink to John - he was a Prince. Has Jack had anymore MJ encounters? JT joins them to announce he's hit another dead end. Something's keeping MJ in town, but Paul can't connect the dots. They've even checked the shelters and wig stores. All consider MJ crazy enough to come back to town in a disguise to spy on everyone. It hasn't been a great day for the Abbott's, Jack pouts.
Returning home, Colleen thanks Billy for going to the cemetery with her. They reminisce about John - he'd be thrilled that Billy's finally with Mac. And as Billy raves about being with his first love, Colleen totally understands - and flashes back to kissing JT. Meanwhile, on the patio, Vikki again looks at the photo of JT kissing Colleen - then makes a call. I need to see you. It's urgent.
Daniel doesn't see why Amber needs to continue to be with Deacon - he has nothing on them anymore. If you want to be with ME, take my hand. When Amber doesn't move, Daniel has his answer. As Deacon lifts Amber's limp arm to kiss it, a disgusted looking Daniel marches off.
Ryder thanks Kevin for coming to see him - the cops have been asking him questions all night. BTW - your brother's cool. Kevin has some questions - do you know this guy? Ryder eyes the photo - what are you doing with a picture of my Dad? We might be brothers, Kevin blurts out.
Jack summons Billy to the club to update that he's decided to do the only thing that makes sense - Dad would agree with me. At the ranch, Ashley's delighted with an old photo Abby found and had framed (of a much younger, and happier, Ashley and John). Victor thinks it so thoughtful of Abby. Of course he understands that they want to go to the cemetery alone. He then finds Mike at the front door - Jack filed a petition to have Ashley committed to a psychiatric facility. Victor looks like he couldn't possibly have heard Mike correctly.
Vikki goes knocking on Colleen's door - with photo in hand. Would you like to explain? she challenges.
Paul tells JT that it's time to 'cast a wider net'. Are there any pictures of MJ at Kay's wedding? They both look at the blonde woman who slinks upstairs. My God! I think that's my sister Patty, Paul exclaims.
Next: Kevin sounds determined - I have to find out whether he's my brother Jana .... This is personal, Vikki says - do you want my husband? Yes. I do, Colleen answers without hesitation .... MJ admires the sharp knife in her hand - I just need to make a few points about Jack. She turns towards a knock at the door.
My Thoughts: How can Victor not see what a basket case Ashley's become? Is he that happy that Ashley finally let him sleep in his OWN bed for one night? ... The way Ashley latched onto Jack was downright scary. If the ghostly John's soooo concerned about Ashley's welfare (and that she's going through so much) why isn't he paying HER a visit? ... Who knew one could petition the courts for involuntary confinement - within a half hour? Was Jack able to accomplish it with nothing but a phone call? Didn't he even have to skip on over to the courthouse to sign anything? ... Is there any doubt that Sharon and Ashley will share a room? And that both will go into an 'early labor'? And that Ashley will walk out with a baby - and Sharon won't? Sharon's sooo self sacrificing these days that maybe she'd just let Ashley keep the baby - or is she only so generous where Nick's concerned? .... Will Ryder be taking one of those incredibly accurate Acme DNA tests? I'd be a tad worried if I were him. Deacon couldn't even be bothered to talk to the kid on the phone .. Why didn't Amber take the opportunity to go home with Daniel? Could it be because Deacon's willing to marry her (and bought a bigger diamond than Daniel could ever afford)? And why would Deacon want a wife who does nothing but scowl at him? ... How typical that Vikki, the cheated on wife, would make a beeline to the other woman - as opposed to confronting the man who vowed to forsake all others. Colleen owes her no loyalty - but JT does. Vikki, however, has lost her right to be the betrayed and faithful wife (as she was locking lips with Deacon at the very same time Colleen was putting the moves on JT). She's just lucky enough that no one took photos. The real injured and innocent party in the Hellstrum family is Reid - the child who must be quarantined with his nanny or sumthin' ... Didn't Colleen say she'd respect JT's marriage? So why is she sending him a text message hoping she didn't cause him any headaches at home? JT's likely more concerned about his blue balls than any headache ... Speaking of the missing - how long is Nikki gonna lay in the ditch before someone misses (or finds) her? She IS laying on the 'main road' - how far could the impact of the crash have thrown her? She's not exactly a waif .. Why is William's and Hellstrum Investigations using the CL's patio as their own personal office? Does the purchase of a coupla lattes give them the place for the entire day? ... Paul's some PI - his spidey instincts haven't alerted him that Nikki could be in trouble? He's unable to find a woman hiding in plain sight in the most popular spots in town - and only happens upon his sister because she walked right under his nose. Why haven't the PI's thought to canvas the local cab companies - then they'd learn that Nikki never got into the cab she ordered back to the ranch - AND be able to track MJ's comings and goings. How is she paying for a suite at the club? Surely, Victor's no longer footing the bill. Why didn't Jack follow up on the flowers and note MJ left on his doorstep the day after he drunkenly (and mistakenly) slept with her? The local florist might recognize MJ from the photo they're showing around town - but then again, if they recognized her, they'd be trying to cash in on the million dollar reward ... Let's hope Gloria doesn't run into Ashley at the cemetery - the last time they met up (in court), Glo's bellowing caused Ashley to collapse. THEN perhaps she'd be taken to GC Memorial and examined by a real doctor (or even Olivia) - who'd drop the bomb that she's not even pregnant ... Nice that Mike's thought of his mother on the anniversary of John's death - even if his real motivation is finding out if Tom could have sired more children .. Hard to imagine Glo as the meek housewife who'd wash her philandering husband's clothing without confronting him ... With Ashley cruelly accusing Jack of using their father's anniversary - AND lambasting him for having Sharon locked up, kudos to Jack for not saying to hell with her and walking out ... It's odd to see Jack and Paul so chummy - especially now - as Paul always blamed Jack (and rightfully so) for playing a major role in Patty's downfall... I don't understand why Paul and JT would want to find pictures of MJ at Kay's wedding. Don't they already have a recent and clear head shot of her? The one Mac easily recognized? The one televised during Victor's press conference?
