Bald and with Humphrey on her knee, Lily chats on the phone to Colleen. Thanks but no thanks - there's no need for her to go to the hospital (as the Winter's will be there in full force). Cane brings in a delivered basket of organic fruit - from Daniel - how nice. And how sweet - Cane's already done Lily's packing - way more DVD's and magazines than she'll need for her 3 hour session. Arriving, Neil and Devon are a tad surprised to see Lily's bald head.
Yeah brothers, Kevin explains (as he visits Ryder in jail) the photo's of HIS Dad too. But Kevin knows he's lying. Meanwhile, in his suite, Deacon's wooing Amber (who just wishes he'd leave her alone). Go be with someone who WANTS to be with you - what kind of marriage will it be? Aw come on, didn't they have a great time living together in LA? Remember the day we took Little D to the beach - and the day I walked in on you in the shower? If only he'd 'taken her' then - oh how different their lives would be. Hey - since Deacon doesn't consider sex important, what say they wait until after they're married to have sex. Drats - foiled again, Deacon's expression implies.
At the club, Paul's sure it's Patty's he saw - despite front desk telling him she's not registered. Sure looked like her from the back - something familiar about the way she held her rosary beads. JT will stay on MJ's trail - Paul on his sister's. In her suite, MJ heaves a sigh of relief - that was too close. Thank God Paul didn't recognize her.
At Colleen's, Vikki doesn't think it matters who took the photos - for the second time she's been humiliated by photos of her and JT - was Colleen wanting the board seat about JT too? Vikki insists that booting Colleen off the board was business - THIS is personal! she waves the photos around. You want my husband? Yes - I do, Colleen quickly confirms without reservation.
JT asks Jana to show MJ's photo around CL's. Jana does one better - she'll send the photo out to their email list of patrons. But Kevin's not here right now, she adds - he has his own mystery to solve.
When Kevin's suspicious of all the coincidences, Ryder claims it was Kevin's speech that motivated him to approach him - it's like he was living inside his head. Ryder took a huge risk telling Kevin the truth. Maybe what brought us together wasn't coincidence - but fate. Fate? The universe brought us together? Kevin scoffs - then with one last over the shoulder scowl, walks out.
Fine - Deacon will wait for sex. Luckily he's planned the wedding in a coupla days. Handing over some cash, he tells Amber to go buy a dress. What!? A designer wearing an off the rack dress? Never the less, she grabs the cash and huffs out. Ryder calls - Kevin's pissed off - and he doesn't like confined spaces. Chill - Deacon orders him not to screw it up ~click~
Still at Cane's, Neil brings in a delivered envelope. Lily lists off all the people who've sent cards - and this one's from Roxy (a DVD of a movie they enjoyed together). As Lily goes to put Humphrey away, Cane explains why Lily shaved her head - she feels better for taking control. Mac and Billy are taking Humphrey for the night - the only baby Lily fears she may ever have (though Neil and Cane make the expected noises otherwise). All then file out - it's chemo time.
Back at CL's, Jana hears that Kev told Ryder he doesn't believe him. Good - whatever that bugger's up to - he knows you're not buying it. Kevin doesn't understand why Ryder confessed - he says I convinced him to face up to himself. No - Kev doesn't believe that. He suspects Ryder's a pawn in someone elses game. What Kevin DOES know is that someone abused Ryder - and he's determined to find out if he IS his brother.
Deacon visits Ryder - so, I'm here satisfied? We're in this together. Yeah - but I'm the one facing 25-life, Ryder pouts. You played Kevin perfectly, Deacon praises - just keep working him - find out about Tom Fisher's last days in GC. One of them MUST know where Tom hid the Terroni. There's a bidding war on it - Tom never had the connections to sell it. Deacon assures they're partners - I need you - but you've gotta keep it together.
Vikki thinks Colleen has SOME nerve (admitting she wants Vikki's husband). Colleen can't lie - JT shut her down. No, NOT because Abby was coming over - JT couldn't bear a life without Vikki. YOU have nothing to worry about. God knows why he wants to be with you - the way you treat him like an employee - your Dad bullying him into resigning. He's a great guy. Fine - believe your loyal husband's cheating. Vikki's doing a better job of 'trashing' the marriage than Colleen could EVER manage. Demanding Vikki leave, Colleen's gonna go make dinner for Lily - someone who's problems aren't all in her head! Now alone, Colleen calls with a heads up for JT (who'll deal with it).
In her suite, MJ addresses an envelope - hopefully Sharon will accept her invitation. Sharp and shiny knife in hand, MJ just needs to make a few points about Jack. Answering the door, she declines a refill on the mini bar - but could the maid deliver this envelope to Sharon's room? MJ's most disappointed to hear Sharon checked out. A puzzled Paul lurks in the hallway.
Jana doubts Ryder will take a DNA test - and who knows what the dangerous Deacon could do to them. As Amber arrives, Kevin marches off to go 'so something'. Amber already knows the charges against Amber were dropped. Then why isn't she more excited? Oh no - why is there a huge ring on Amber's finger?
The nurse, Anita, explains that DR Liv asked them to take special care of Lily (as she can't be there). Her head in a stylish kerchief, Lily's touched that her grandparents sent their old bible - the one they used to read to Mom. As Lily reads the card, Neil also believes that Dru's watching down on her.
Paul calls JT to quietly say it's not Patty after all, it's a blonde MJ - she's in room 855. As MJ leaves, she bumps into Paul. Going somewhere Mary Jane? Sit down - you're not going anywhere, he backs her up. Please - let me go, she pleads. Paul repeats more firmly - sit down. As MJ makes a run for it, Paul blocks her. Sit DOWN, and this time he means it! Given a little shove, MJ slumps onto the sofa - and bursts into tears.
At NE, JT finds Vikki again looking at the photos. Sure, it's not the time or the place, but what the hell. It was nothing, JT explains. Doesn't matter that Colleen's in love with him - JT loves Vikki. Don't blame it on Victor - he was only looking for info on MJ. JT admits the kiss shouldn't have happened. It's not the problem - it's a symptom. Vikki's not the same person - she's irritable. He told Colleen how scared he was to lose her - but he HAS - she hasn't been the same person since the coma. Fine - it's my fault, she shouts - then slams out.
Anita tells Lily to get comfy - her drugs are on the way. A supportive Cane puts an arm around Lily as all admire the 'plush' pillows Kay and Murphy sent over. Oh how everyone loves her. Devon and Neil will set up the DVD player. As Lily opines that maybe Roxy's comedy isn't appropriate, a fellow patient shares that it's his second time around - if it kills him he'll go down fighting. Lily introduces everyone to Harry 'call me Harry' Gold.
Visiting Colleen, JT confides that Victor had him followed. He doesn't give a rats ass what Victor thinks - if he and Vikki were solid it wouldn't matter. But it's gotta be hard on Vikki - especially what she went through with your Dad. Don't make excuses for her, Colleen snaps - I told her it was all me - what's her problem? She doesn't trust me anymore - I stood up to her Dad (and up FOR you). She'd rather have a wimp? Both have told Vikki how much JT loves her - but it didn't make a difference. Colleen's aghast - she has what millions of women want - or at least one - she doesn't deserve or appreciate you. Meanwhile - Vikki goes running to Deacon's suite - and initiates a passionate kiss the moment he opens it.
Ryder's surprised to see Kevin again - Pete here's no cop - he works at a lab - you up for finding out if we're brothers? Absolutely - Ryder has many questions about his life.
Sit down and relax - don't move. I mean it! Paul sits MJ down - I'm not kidding. I'm your sister, MJ bleats at the stunned Paul.
At CL's, Jana tells Amber she doesn't have to go through with this - Deacon's bluffing. No - Amber believes he can (and will) still put Daniel behind bars. Deacon made Ryder confess. Oh gosh, Jana thinks she better stall him - until they find out what hold he has over Ryder. Oh no - the wedding's in a coupla days? Don't tell Daniel - he'll do something stupid - and Amber won't gamble with his future. But you'd sacrifice your own? Jana protests. Amber sure will - so Daniel can move on and be happy with someone else. Jana calls Daniel - it's an emergency.
This means something to me, JT refers to his ring. Not that you have to be Vikki's whipping boy, Colleen speaks passionately. JT understands why Vikki's upset - he'd react the same way in her place. Perhaps it's not a good idea for them to spend time together. We can't even be friends? Colleen pouts. Sorry - but JT must put Reid and Vikki first. Get the hell outta here, Colleen says with a sad smile. Alone, she sighs. While across town, Deacon kisses Vikki as he mounts her on his bed.
Lily's set up with her chemo treatment via intravenous. No, the nurse doesn't find it depressing working there - she's witnessed incredible bravery. Harry? Your cab's downstairs. Hang in there kid, Harry encourages - see ya next time. His wife and friends are gone - kids outta state, Anita confides. Here we go. Lily looks scared as Cane holds her hand, Neil and Devon hovering.
Paul points his finger - I told you I had a sister that time we had lunch. I had surgery - it's me, Patty - I wanted a new start - but I couldn't fool you. Paul flashes back to first meeting MJ. No - Patty wouldn't deliberately put a child in a coma. She didn't want to hurt Summer - she thought she'd have a tiny reaction. MJ's been so scared. Shut up, Paul snaps - put the knife down. Listen to me! MJ continues to babble - you used to sing me that song about the fairy ship, she sobs - then warbles out a verse. Horrified, Paul now hears childrens voices singing. I won't let anything hurt you Pattycake, the young boy promises. Oh my God - No, he shouts - hands over his face, Paul sinks to the floor, sobbing - Oh my God!
Next: Do you honestly think for one moment I want you to be in an institution. Yes I do, Ashley snarls back ... You thought maybe you'd find Nick here - or maybe you came to gloat - or maybe both .... I will not let that happen, Adam says with determination (as Ashley launches into his arms for a hug)
My Thoughts: Paul saw something familiar in the way the blonde woman held her rosary beads? Um - OK. At least Mother Mary will be pleased to hear her daughter still keeps the faith - and goes to confession (even if she is breaking a few commandments along the way) ... Why would MJ think the local PI (who's been pursuing her for months) would put her on a plane? Where would she a first class ticket to? Hawaii? Spain? Has MJ saved money returning discarded cans she found in the alley - or is Paul expected to pay for the ticket? And who's paying for her suite? And if still registered to her, why haven't the clever PI's been staking it out? Couldn't they bribe the club's management into revealing that Victor paid for the suite? ... Just how many visitors are allowed to tag along to where chemo patients take their treatments? It'd get pretty crowded if every patient brought along three supporters ... I thought Cane's house had sold - and that's why he needed to stay in Billy's trailer? Guess not ... Shouldn't Lily's nurse, Anita, be saying something more informational than 'here we go'? Couldn't she prepare Lily for what she might soon be feeling (when the drugs enter her system) - advise that she might feel nauseous or sumthin'? If Lily's just gonna wear a kerchief over her head, why did she bother cutting her locks off? I'm not so sure now that CK actually cut off her own hair - she might be wearing a well done skull cap. Will next month's issue of RS be devoted to survivors - with a bald and smiling Lily proudly gracing the front cover? ... Why would Sharon check out of the club's hotel? Where's she supposed to live when she's sprung in 30 days? A month's rent wasted on a vacant suite is not a big deal if you're a Newman - or even an ex Newman. Just ask Nikki - bet she still has her suite. Perhaps the club will notice her gone when she doesn't pay her bill - and with Nick and Phyllis both home trying to jump start Summer's intelligence, how long before RS needs to replace Nikki as editor in chief? ... JT needs to get his priorities straight - the boss who has enough faith in him to make him a partner calls to announce he's broken the biggest case they've worked on - and he's too busy bouncing between his ex girlfriend and wife to answer his cell? I hope Paul and JT force Victor to hand over the million dollar reward for capturing MJ ... MJ's in room 855? Are we expected to believe the club's hotel has 8 floors? Yet everyone conveniently rents suites on the same floor? ... Vikki lambastes her husband for cheating - then immediately flies into the arms of the nearest available man? Who's raising Reid while his parents are busy 'trashing' their marriage? .... ... Oh my God indeed Paul - and the Emmy for most over acted scene goes to Doug Davidson ... Vikki whines that twice now she's been humiliated by photos of Colleen with JT - wonder if she'll feel the same way once she learns that her father was responsible for both. Oh well - good ole Vic did help out the first time Vikki was humiliated by photos (managing the impossible in buying up every single copy of her nude centrefold - something that would be even more impossible these days - thanks to venues like 'Viewclick') ... So Deacon goes to all this trouble and expense to snare Amber (a woman who left him a decade ago) - leaving L'il D - moving across the country - putting an innocent man in jail - involving himself in murder and forgery - only to jump on the first horny heiress who comes along? Sure, Vikki NEWMAN's a better catch - but it seems Deacon's more interested in getting his hands on the Terroni than Amber (who could return any minute to catch him 'cheating' on her). Could it be that the mysterious key to a locker in Detroit (that Tom left Kevin) will unveil the whereabouts of the Terroni? How on earth did a low life like Tom Callahan get his hands on a masterpiece stolen from a European museum?
