At the ranch, Jack insists DR Jamison doesn't care about THEIR opinions - she's there to do a job. Jack strongly feels his sister needs extensive in-patient help - while an equally stubborn Victor claims his wife won't be forced into treatment she doesn't want. Abby joins them - that's why you're here Uncle Jack? To put Mom in a mental hospital!?

Upstairs, Ashley and Adam conspire to hide (from the doctor) what a 'mess' she is. Having done some research, Adam knows what questions will be asked - and will prep her accordingly. No way should Ashley mention running over her husband's late wife - she'll be locked in a padded cell for sure. Chop chop - Ashley wants the questions - we're running outta time.

At the club, JT easily convinces the manager to let him into MJ's suite - where he finds obvious evidence of a struggle. MJ left her purse behind - looks like she left in a hurry - but to where? JT sends the manager down for everything he has on the woman registered to this room, please hurry - then calls to report Paul missing - he could have been kidnapped - or worse.

Driving along the dark highway, Paul encourages Patty to put the knife away - sure she wouldn't hurt her big brother who's on her side - the one who chases the monsters away, remember?. MJ wishes he could - now shut up and drive.

At NE, Nick gets a call from JT - summoning them to the club (where, he explains, MJ's been hiding). She got away - Paul's missing. JT'd like to touch base with all of her victims.

Don't you have a husband to get home to? Sharon, hands on hips, asks. Ignoring Nick's call, Phyllis isn't going anywhere until she gets an explanation as to why Jack hasn't so much as come by to ensure Sharon's taking her prenatal's. Fine - not that's it any of Phyllis' business - but SHE's the reason Jack's not visiting. Sharon's trying not to be the needy victim who depends on her exes - isn't that what Phyllis wanted? Now eave it alone already.

Abby scolds Jack for talking to her like she's a kid - oh, and wanting to put her Mom in a straight jacket too. Saved by the bell - Jack answers the door and invites DR Jamison in. Victor introduces himself and Abby (who claims her Mom's not the crazy one here). DR Jamison will interview Ashley in her room - where she's comfortable. No, Victor's not allowed to be present. Aside, Victor orders Jack to put aside their feud for Ashley's sake.

Upstairs, Adam preps Ashley - do everything in your power not to lose it when the doctor asks about seeing Sabrina. Laugh it off - but not too hard. Be straight forward - as natural as possible. You can do this - I believe in you, he encourages. Victor then comes up to introduce DR Jamison to Ashley and Adam (who then leaves - with Victor not far behind). Ready when you are, Ashley gives the doctor a confident smile.

Ashley gives her name - the year - the President. Yes, she's read a newspaper within the past month. The DR then asks about Ashley putting her career on hold - and losing her father. Yes - we were close, Ashley talks of the role model she lost. The doctor gets into Ashley feeling the presence of Victor's deceased wife. Does it feel like more than a memory? That Sabrina's alive? Ashley doesn't believe in ghosts - not her father's or Sabrina's. As Ashley answers, DR Jamison types into her laptop.

Downstairs, Victor reassures Abby (which irritates Jack - who feels Victor's now the one treating her like a child). Adam arrives to join in on attacking Jack - Abby's a a savvy young woman, not swayed by your fake concern. It's revenge against our father. You weren't always your father's greatest fan - remember the diary? Jack thinks JR's laying it on a bit thick. Family bands together in a crisis - NOT lock one another up, Victor concludes.

Sharon understands why Phyllis may be skeptical of her new independent persona. Don't go to Jack and make him feel guilty for not coming. Phyllis agrees - what's the point.

Heather, JT and Nick are at the club - worried and wondering about Paul. JT confides that MJ is really Patty Williams. It's just a matter of time before she spins out of control. Worried at JT's talk of protecting her previous targets, Nick calls to check on Summer.

Paul continues to drive - assuring Patty that he won't leave her - but what happened to the little girl who used to help Mom in the pie booth at the church bizarre every year? No - he doesn't think Patty a monster - she's just ... mixed up. He knows she didn't get this way on her own - who's idea was it to change her look? Who thought up this intricate plan? It doesn't sound like you. No wonder Nikki left you - you don't let up, Patty snaps - then apologizes - don't give me the silent treatment. It's none of your business! As an increasingly agitated Patty waves the knife around, Paul slams on the brakes - somehow Patty's got blood on her hands - and Paul's been stabbed in the hand.

A relieved Nick tells all that Summer's safe at the ranch with the sitter. Now if he could just reach Phyllis - she's apparently at an appointment he hadn't heard anything about. At least Nikki's out of the line of fire. Everyone's covered but Phyllis and Sharon (who Nick jumps up to go check on).

It's alright, Paul assures the devastated Patty. it's just a little cut - I'll be fine. He hugs his sobbing sister - then smiles. You sounded like my baby sister just now. We have to go, Patty says when they hear sirens - you're gonna turn me in aren't you? Looking torn, Paul sighs.

Ready to leave, Phyllis tells Sharon to call if she needs anything. Sharon will try to do it on her own - without either of her exes - good night, again. In the hallway, Phyllis isn't impressed to hear her agitated husband refusing to sign in - he just needs to see his ex wife.

DR Jamison talks about the impact of Sabrina's pictures being displayed at the ranch. Flashing back to Adam's instructions, Ashley continues to sound rational and sane. She never thought Sabrina was haunting her - no, not even once. It was disturbing to find cameras all over the house. It would drive anyone insane. DR Jamison types some more - sounds to her like Ms Benson could use some professional help. Is that about me or Mary Jane? a worried Ashley has to ask. Ignoring the question, DR Jamison decides they're finished here.

JT gets a call from a patrol that's spotted Paul's car. A distraught Heather frets about not adequately consoling her jilted father - or telling him she loves him. JT's sure she'll get her chance. Is there someone he can call? No - there's no one. But Heather does call to see if the police have found anything out. If that bitch lays a hand on my father, she seethes - she'll have to deal with ME.

DR Jamison interrupts Jack and Victor bickering - Ashley seems to be mildly depressed (and has been stressed due to the heinous tricks played on her) - but she clearly knows the difference between reality and illusion - and poses no threat to herself or anyone else. Ashley needs to feel safe and supported. Jack's horrified to hear that Ashley would be further traumatized if removed from her home - and support system. Clearly pleased, Victor agrees with the diagnosis - and agrees Abby should take her mother some tea. Jack vows it's not over yet. Win some, lose some, Jackie boy , Adam taunts after he shows the doctor out. Told to leave, Jack notes that Adam's awfully smug - you have a stake in this yourself? As Jack slams out, Adam's left to grin.

When Adam suggests Abby give her parents some privacy, she readily agrees - and is pleased that Adam's been so supportive of her mother. Adam claims he's all about keeping the family together. Abby never thought she'd hear that from him - people really CAN change.

Victor reassures Ashley that the doctor believes she's OK. Ashley seems surprised - Jack's been SO determined to get her out of there. Ashley would rather sleep than come downstairs. It's all over now, Victor gently assures with a quick kiss. But left alone, a wide eyed Ashley burrows beneath the blankets for safety.

At CL's, Phyllis babbles to Jack about why he's not visiting Sharon - and Nick IS. Jack doesn't want to hear it - then goes on to explain a court ordered shrink allowed Ashley to remain Victor's prisoner. Perhaps she should be asking NICK why he's visiting Sharon. Phyllis scoffs at the very idea of Sharon turning down the attention of a man. And when Phyllis wonders if he and Sharon are 'on the outs', Jack thinks she's imagining things. Unconvinced, Phyllis wonders what he's keeping from her. No - we can't talk about it some other time. One thing sticks in Phyllis' mind - she hangs her head as she realizes Jack's not the father of the baby. Nick is, isn't he?

Nick needs to know Sharon's protected. The doctor assures she is - you wanna see her? No - but Nick warns that MJ might break in. The doctor will alert the staff. Nick thanks him and calling to leave Phyllis a message, is growing increasingly worried that he hasn't been able to reach her. Hanging up, Nick turns to meet Sharon's stare. What are you doing here? Nick updates on MJ - and explains he wanted to make sure SHE was OK. Yeah, Summer's safe - but he can't reach Phyllis. She was here? Nick blinks and furrows his unibrow - why? She wanted to make sure you were staying away, Sharon replies. Nick stammers that he wanted to come - you're OK? Really? He's glad she's fine. Sharon thanks him - and as she turns to head back into her room, Nick reaches out to stop her. I'm proud of you ~hug~

Wow - Phyllis can't believe this is happening again. Wait, Jack did NOT say Nick was the father. No - it's not true. Ordered to do so, Jack looks Phyllis right in the eye - I'm the father of Sharon's baby, he lies - then denies he is. 'No - I'd never lie to you'.

Heather's on the phone ranting about MJ being put away for life. JT returns to say it WAS Paul's car that the cops spotted - and MJ's with him. But they took off. It's not a lot to go on. He's Mary Jane's hostage! Heather panics.

Paul bangs on the church's door - telling the Priest who answers that he's Todd's brother. A Yes, Father Williams said they might be coming by. We need sanctuary from the law, Paul explains quickly as he coaxes the hesitant Patty inside - promising that he won't let anything happen to her.

Abby wonders why her Mom's upstairs instead of with them - and why would Uncle Jack try to hurt her like that. Victor thinks family's what's important now . Abby now includes Adam (who's been so supportive of Mom).

Adam enters Ashley's room. How can I ever thank you? she sits up to gush. It was like he was in her head the whole time. I could never have done it without you. Adam's just relieved she's staying where she belongs. He'd have missed his only friend. Heather and Rafe? They must be tired of his limitations, Adam figures. Ashley thinks him an incredible man - I'm here for you like you've been for me. Get some rest, Adam suggests. Ashley asks him to lay next to her until she falls asleep, then snuggles into his chest.

Next: Chloe smiles, pen in hand as the lawyer assures 'it'll be filed with the court - and you're good to go'. Yeah, I can't sign that, Billy closes the file ... With a smug smile, Gloria removes her oversized sunglasses - as a defeated Jill tells her to 'pick a colour' ... Vikki hovers in the background as JT's on the phone - Blood? Is it Paul's?

My Thoughts: Why is DR Jamison typing on her laptop while evaluating Ashley? Couldn't she record the session? Perhaps she's chatting on MSN? ... Note to all lawbreakers. Fishers, Amber, Daniel - Forget running to ashrams, dive motels, box cars, potting sheds, sweltering on hot beaches dressed in cumbersome, hard as hell to run in fruit costumes. Head to the nearest church - where you too can find 'sanctuary from the law'. And how clever of Father Todd to guess Paul would go there. He musta inherited the PI gene too.. Who didn't inherit the PI gene? JT. Standing in MJ's room, JT wonders where oh where she could be - but doesn't think to go through her purse for clues ... Does Jack not remember the last time he got caught lying to Phyllis? The time she slapped him upside the head at RS? Does he really think this secret won't come out? Have any questionable paternities EVER gone unrevealed? Billy claimed he'd take the secret of Delia's paternity to his grave - then fessed up about 20 minutes later. Even Lily's paternity, which remained secret for approximately 15 years - eventually came out. I don't understand Jack's motive in lying about a truth that Phyllis is already convinced of. Why are both he and Sharon sacrificing so much to save this marriage that's already clinging by a very thin thread? Now that her begging and groveling days seem to be behind her, Phyllis deserves (and can handle) the truth .... ... Ashley locks her new husband out of his own bedroom - but invites his blind son to share her bed? It's odd that Abby's now on team Adam - but at least she has the sense to question why Mom's upstairs - instead of down with her and Victor. And whatever happened to the tea she was supposed to bring Ashley? .... The questions the doctor uses to evaluate patient's sanity are posted online? How convenient for those needing to fake their mental stability ... Why didn't the doctor ask Ashley about her previous breakdowns? And why would believing in ghosts be cause to have someone committed? Many sane people believe in spirits etc. If believing in ghosts is relevant, then Jack (who frequently chats with his deceased father) should be taken off in a straight jacket ..... Why hasn't the manager told JT that none other than Victor Newman is paying for Mary Jane's suite? But without benefit of a warrant, will any of the evidence be permissible in court? Why haven't the police been summoned to take pictures of what appears to be a crime scene? Shouldn't Detective Chance Chancellor be summoned? .. ... Funny to hear Victor talk about family banding together - not locking one another up (considering both his stints behind bars were caused by his sons). And Victor didn't exactly 'band' with his family during his last crisis - in fact he totally turned his back on his family - running instead to Mexico and Paris. Come to think of it - there's many times he's bolted instead of 'banded' - like the time he ran off to find himself in New Mexico (with Ramona) - or the time before that to Kansas. Both times he ditched his family to 'band' with a woman; Hope and Ramona.
