Awakening in bed - oh the joy - Amber and Daniel's dreams have come true. Having burned some serious calories, the ravenous Daniel manages to scrounge up a jar of peanut butter (which both double dip their fingers into). Daniel has to catch a flight to Detroit - once he has the painting, they can have their lives back ~kiss~
The penthouse now devoid of cable, electricity and water, Gloria whines that they can't even get the dye off themselves. Boil water in a kettle over the fireplace? This ain't the Walton's John Boy. Gloria shoulda knows blackmail wouldn't work with Victor Newman. Oh look - and here's Victor now (using Phyllis' extra key). Where's Mary Jane? he'd like to know. No - she's NOT at the cabin. While the Bardwell's pretend to know nothing about Jack going to the cabin, Victor's concluded that they took his money too. You double crossed me. No - you double crossed US (booby trapping the reward). We DID our part (and would like our money). Otherwise, Jeff threatens tell Ashley everything. Your idiot boyfriend doesn't know who he's dealing with - tell him what will happen if he comes near my wife, Victor glares at Gloria.
Back at the ranch, Ashley's off for a walk (and can't help worrying that it was Nikki she saw that night). No need for Adam to come with her, thanks - maybe next time. Yeah, another time, Adam looks rejected.
Nick visits Sharon bearing gifts - corn chips, OJ, ranch and guacamole dip - and the foot cream he used to rub on her when she was expecting Noah. Sharon's aware that MJ is really Patty William's. Why? Did she hurt someone else???
While Patty gives Kitty Kitty a drink, Colleen whines that she's hungry - they can't very well stay in the woods forever. Patty knows that - she's a mess. What if Jack saw me like this? Colleen opines that she must love Jack an awful lot (to go through all this). And what does Colleen, a 'kid', know about love? More than you might think *sigh*
With the Abbott mansion 'search central', JT's on the phone - let's try pet and grocery stores - we've got gas stations covered. Sure JT's runnin' on empty - trying to keep his mind off 'other stuff'. Paul updates that he's got the make and license plate of Colleen's car 'out there'. Jack answers the door to Vikki. No news - Billy's upstairs with Traci (who's a 'wreck'). As JT flashes back to Vikki's confession of infidelity, she hugs Paul - what can I do? I'd really like to help in any way I can, she looks imploringly at JT.
Now updated, Sharon has to wonder if Patty's the one who stashed Victor's wallet in her suite. She'd have to be well connected to fake her resume - and where DID she get the money for the surgery? Nick shares Phyllis' theory that Victor's involved.
Victor's scare tactics work on Gloria - time to quit while they're behind (but at least not behind bars). Since they won't say anything to his precious Ashley, Glo hopes they can do business in the future. Without answering, Victor exits (leaving Jeff to scold her for groveling). A knock at the door brings Jill - hello partners - where's my 100K? (which Jeff used to bribe her into silence). But she'll have to wait til they get there's. Looks like you already have, Jill notices the blue dye. What? Tough ice queen Mary Jane Benson is poor, pathetic Patty Williams? Jill's stunned.
With Colleen still tied to a tree, Patty talks about marrying Jack at 18. Colleen can relate - like her and the older JT (whom she misses every day). His wife used to be my evil step Mom. Colleen tries not to listen to the voice that tells her to rip Vikki's head off. How do you stop the voice? a wide eyed Patty wonders. If Colleen listens to it, she knows JT will never love her. Do you think Jack feels the same way about me? Patty asks (sounding incredibly young and vulnerable) Could you talk to him? Tell him I'm not a terrible person - I just don't know how to stop the voice? Colleen can try. And as Patty shares excited optimism with Kitty Kitty, Colleen uses the shard of glass to saw away at the ropes around her wrists.
Vikki cautiously approaches JT - you didn't come home last night. You here to ease your guilty conscience? JT scoffs. If you're SO worried, why not start by asking your father where Patty is? When Abby races in to speak to Uncle Jack (about what happened between her Mom and Uncle Billy last night) - she's even more horrified to hear the latest. First you try to lock my Mom up in an asylum - and now your girlfriend kidnaps my sister!? Don't touch me! There's something seriously wrong with you! If something happens to her sister, Abby vows never to speak to Jack again. Just let her go, Vikki gently advises (as Abby's already slammed out). We HAVE to find Patty! Jack asserts.
Now dressed, Daniel also wishes he didn't have to go. No baby, he shrugs out of Amber's octopus arms. He MUST find that painting. Could she be the world's best girlfriend and run some errands for him? Unimpressed, Amber leaves with the list (that the smirking Daniel figures should bide him enough time). Now alone, he pops a blank canvas on his easel.
Jill gets things straight - the Bardwell's have double crossed Jack, Victor - and now HER. She's done scheming with the likes of them. Having lived on nothing before, Jill's sure she can do it again. Yes - at a nail salon. By next year, I'll own a string of 'em, Jill vows as she slams out.
Adam squints at the mail he flips through. Coming across an envelope of great interest, he hides it beneath the cushion when an excited Ashley races in. Unbelievable! she found a cell phone in the very spot she thought she saw Sabrina that night. Since it's dead, the helpful Adam offers to charge it. No need - Ashley has one of those handy universal charger thingy's upstairs. And with any luck, 'this' will lead her to the truth. Alone again, Adam digs out the envelope (to 'The Newman Family' - from one Nikki Newman).
Sitting on opposite sides of the bed, Nick mulls over the possibility of Victor being involved (which would mean he knew what kind of person he was dealing with when Summer was ... ). He agrees with Sharon that Victor wouldn't intentionally hurt his granddaughter - but think about it - Patty was Paul's sister. Sure, Victor claims he doesn't care, but it must have been tough for Dad to see Mom so happy with Paul. It was aimed at Jack - Mom and Paul were a bonus. Shaking her head, Sharon can't believe it. Nick wishes he had her faith - but the more he thinks about it, the guiltier his father looks.
Head in his hand, Paul mopes over an old photo of Patty. When Vikki asks how he's doing, Paul whines about Traci not wanting to see him (not that he blames her). He hands over the photo - she really was the sweetest - now she's being hunted like an animal. Paul thought he was getting through to her at St Jude's - we used to tease her like crazy - she's too trusting. Once depended upon to protect her, Paul now feels he's letting Patty down. And as Vikki offers more words of support, Paul really feels he could get through to Patty - IF he had the chance (which he's afraid he won't).
Out in the woods, Colleen works to ingratiate herself to the 'smart and beautiful' Patty. You can go back to your life as Mary Jane, she assures (and Uncle Jane). Start now by untying me - we can go back to GC together. Patty realizes she's being duped - you're such a liar! Ow, ow, Patty jumps back a few feet. No! I'm NOT OK - I just got bit by a stupid spider! she wails. I should be with Jack - not in the woods with spiders and a stupid girl (who's a liar like her Uncle Jack). You not gonna get away with this, Patty points the gun with a shaky hand.
Back at the ranch, Ashley's charged the phone - but the screen's cracked - there's no display. Maybe she can access the voicemail? Adam walks over as Ashley's stunned to hear a message from a worried Vikki. I hit Nikki! She WAS there, Ashley tells Adam (who manages not to react).
Still hanging around at Jack's, Paul opines that if Nikki hasn't left him at the alter, this whole Summer/Patty thing would have come between them anyway. Feeling that JT's had it in for her father since being fired, Vikki asks the 'fair' minded Paul for his opinion. Explaining Patty's life, Paul reasons that someone gave his unstable, 'blue collar' sister a whole new persona - then set her loose on the man she tried to murder years ago. He doesn't think Victor did it - he's certain of it. Meanwhile, Victor's been summoned to the club by Abby. Having no one else to whine at Abby screeches about 'that freak' holding her sister hostage.
What's wrong with you? Colleen asks Patty (who complains about her stomach and being dizzy). We need to go to the hospital, Colleen implores. And as Patty cries to Kitty Kitty (Oh God, Mommy's sick), Colleen works furiously to cut through the ropes.
By the time Amber returns from running Daniel's errands, he's been inspired to paint. Unveiling various canvases, they spell out 'Amber. Will. You. Marry. Me'? Is this real? Amber cries. Daniel wants to have wheelchair races - I want to grow old with you. And on bended knee (and with the video capturing it all) Daniel declares his love - do my the honour of marrying me. Oh my God, Amber falls to her knees to deliver a teary 'Yes' ~kiss~
Still in Sharon's room, she talks about Victor being like a father to her - he'd do anything to protect his family - and would have said something after Summer got hurt. Nick's not so sure (given his feud with Jack) - and doesn't know what to do. Yes, you do - confront Victor, Sharon suggests.
Now seated at the club, Abby updates that the police are at Uncle Jack's - and JT said Colleen's been kidnapped. But why would Mary Jane do that?! *sniff* She's a troubled woman, Victor reasons. You have to help, Abby weeps. With the weight of the world on his shoulders, Victor will see what he can do.
Perched on Daniel's lap, Amber feels the need to tell him about her past - that he should know everything. But Daniel knows all he needs to - she's talented and sweet - and so hot. He never thought he'd say this to someone - but Amber's truly his soul mate. He doesn't want to live a single day without her. But now it's time for Daniel to head to Detroit. Stay away from Deacon, he warns gruffly. I love you. And on his way out the door, Daniel drops his bag to run back for one more kiss.
Pick a colour. I'll be right with you, the bored sounding Jill says - then looks up to see Gloria (still faintly blue). No, Glo's not there to humiliate Jill - I want a job. You need a license to be a nail technician, Jill says - and we've already got a receptionist. But there is an opening she'd be perfect for. A determined looking Glo takes the broom - like you said - from the ground up.
Adam again removes the envelope from beneath the sofa - hiding it behind his back as Ashley serves iced tea. Despite Adam's fear that she'll be thought crazy and locked up, Ashley's determined to do the right thing - and tell Victor everything - tonight. I'll be in my room, she scurries off (leaving Adam to jam the envelope in his pocket and walk towards the kitchen).
Nick doubts confronting Victor will result in a confession. But - Sharon's right - he needs to go over there.
Paul races into Jack's - Colleen's car been found near Twin Lakes. Jack and JT leap into action. Will you be here when I get back? JT asks of Vikki. No - she needs to go see her Dad. You know he did it, JT states. Vikki needs him to look her in the eye and tell her he brought Patty to GC.
Abby blames Jack (whom she'll never forgive if anything happens to Colleen). Victor promises that they'll find her.
Colleen manages to untie first her hands - and then escape the tree. As she stands to point the gun at Patty, she's laying on the ground in the fetal position. Please don't abandon me, please. I don't want to die, Patty sobs (leaving Colleen to look torn).
Next: Victor looks both Nick and Vikki directly in the eye - I would NOT do anything that would cause pain to my family ... Colleen feels Patty's forehead - you're totally burning up. If you don't let me go out there and get a doctor, you're not gonna make it ... Ashley's in the bedroom with Victor - it's about Nikki. Something horrible happened.
My Thoughts: Sharon's hair looked nice with some volume (even if it IS in need of a brushing). She thinks of Victor as a father? She sure didn't feel that way when she stuck her tongue down his throat ... Understatement of the day goes to Patty: Mommy's sick, she wails (like we don't already know that). ... s Does Phyllis know that all the utilities in her penthouse have been turned off due to non payment? You'd think she'd have rented it out all inclusive. Perhaps the Bardwell's shoulda paid the bills instead of buying pricey surveillance equipment (like voice altering gadgets - camera - a laptop etc.) At least Gloria's not above getting a J-O-B. Unlike Jeffrey, who can't work - why? But if Glo's gonna do menial work, why not stay on at CL's? Is pushing a broom any better than pouring coffee? (at least the Bardwell's could snack there - at the salon, all Glo can hope for is free mani/pedi's) ... Ughhh. Never mind double dipping. Great acting by Daniel and Amber - as they manage not to retch as they dip their fingers into a communal jar of peanut butter - then into their mouths - and repeat... Gross enough - not even counting where those fingers have so recently been. Those visiting the apartment should definitely say 'no thanks' to anything made with peanut butter ... What a waste of perfectly good canvases. Now what's Daniel gonna paint his masterpieces on? Does he own a watch or a clock? He DOES realize his 72 hours are ticking by, right? .... Again it's evident that Vikki has more chemistry with Paul than she does her onscreen (and off) hubby ... Abby will never speak to her Uncle Jack again? Oh - POOR Uncle Jack. He must be tempted to put a hit on Colleen just to escape her self absorbed whining. But really, how often did Abby and Uncle Jack talk anyway? It seems to do the trick however. We MUST find Patty, Jack now jumps up like he means business (like the PI's and cops invading his house are there for some other reason) ... Having been shafted by Victor (and his promises of payment for a job well done) why would Gloria even WANT to 'do business' with Victor 'in the future'? He didn't come through when the Bardwell's succeeded in humiliating Colleen to the point that she left the NE board. Why they haven't blackmailed Victor already is beyond me ... Wonder if Phyllis knows that her newly recommitted husband is delivering foot cream to his ex wife. And who's to apply said cream? I doubt foot rubbing' is included in any of the hospital staff's job description ... Sharon's supposed to be eating fruits and vegetables - 'corn' chips? Nick knows that's not REAL corn, right? Cause that's like Milk Duds being like real milk. And great - 'fresh' OJ (so much better than the expired OJ). But does Sharon have a fridge in her room? Assuming Sharon's in a deluxe facility, you'd think a pregnant woman could get fresh OJ whenever ... Poor Colleen - still going hungry (like she doesn't have bigger problems on her plate. Oops. I guess that's ALL she has on her plate) ... Just NOW Paul got the make, year and plate number of Colleen's car 'out there'? Shouldn't that have been done already? Like when kidnapper and captive were actually driving around in it? ..... Sharon - the voice of reason? Going all Nancy Drew as she assumes Patty was the one to stash Victor's wallet in her room etc. etc. Watching Sharon and Nick crack a case is like watching my 9 year old do needlepoint - someone's gonna get hurt ... Why is Jill oh SO shocked to hear that Mary Jane is really Patty. She - who's mother was replaced by a waitress lookalike - then returned from the grave. She, who's son just popped up after being dead for 20 years. I dunno - you'd think it'd take a lot to surprise Jill .... As a new employee at the salon, does Jill even HAVE the authority to hire folks off the street to push around a broom? ... JT's 'running on empty' because he's working soooo hard to find Patty? He hasn't moved off the Abbott couch in days. Is he waiting for Patty to just show up and plop down beside him - put her feet up on the coffee table or sumthin'? .... Adam's blindness is a very convenient ailment. Bad enough to get him out of a lengthy prison term - but not so bad that he can't read small type on an envelope. Clearly his tripping over furniture was some kind of Dick Van Dyke comedy routine ... Exactly what kind of poisonous spider is indigenous to GC Wisconsin? - one so lethal that it could fell a woman almost instantly after being bitten? With dangerous spiders running about, you'd think Colleen would be a little worried about being tied to a tree - kinda like a lamb tied to the stake. At the very least, she'd be jumping up and swatting at her ass a bit ... Is Colleen not gonna suck the venom from her Auntie's leg? I'm sure she's sucked worse (and from folks she's know less time) ... Nikki's been gone all this time - but has only ONE message on her phone? You'd think the Editor In Chief of RSM would get the odd business call, no? And with Kay so worried that she's involved Detective Chance Chancellor (great handle), she hasn't tried to call Nikki's cell - not even once? You'd think Vikki might have bothered to hit redial and left a second message too ... How could Ashley have found Nikki's cell phone - but not Nikki herself? If she went to the spot Nikki was standing, surely the cell would have flown farther than Nikki (who's a bit heavier than a cell phone. Just sayin'..)
