Traci ends her call with Steve - with hope that Colleen will be with her when she picks him up from the airport. When Chloe comes along needing help with the 'teething' Delia, Jack sees right through her ruse. It works too - watching Traci and Billy giggle at Delia, Jack rewards Chloe with a hug. Not she would 'know', but banding together in a crisis, IS indeed what 'family' does.
As Cane naps on the sofa, Lily tip toes to the door - but sighing, and in pain, can't go any further (dammit!). Cane awakens - instantly guessing she's having a hot flash. But Lily doesn't want to 'go for a walk' - she wants to find Colleen. Just a few days ago she was ready to take on Victor - and now Colleen's being held hostage. She must be found - before it's too late.
What are you sticking around for? Patty mutters weakly (as she shivers on the ground in the dark woods) - you have the gun - shoot me. IF Colleen goes - it's for help. Then, as she tends to the bleeding spider bite, Patty easily grabs the gun. You should have escaped while you had the chance, she points.
In Ashley's bedroom, Adam's sorry to bother her - but she can't tell Victor what happened 'that' night. Ashley MUST - no one's heard from Nikki in weeks - I could have KILLED her! Flashing back to the mailed envelope (from Nikki), Adam insists that there's no proof. Nikki could have dropped the cell phone. And the necklace? Ashley argues. You'll regret this mistake, Adam warns - as Victor saunters in to question the 'raised voices' - what's going on? Ashley needs to speak to Victor - alone. After Adam sulks out, Ashley blurts out that something horrible happened - Nikki didn't just leave town.
Dad? Vikki arrives at the ranch - with Nick on her heels. Vikki updates that she just came from the Abbott's - Colleen's been kidnapped. Both are there to confront Victor on his possible involvement (which JT and Phyllis are convinced of). Let's do it, they go in search of their father.
Lily's not happy to be sitting around while Colleen's out there - it's not like she'd be able to sleep anyway (thanks to the hot flashes). When Cane suggests she do some 'surfing', Lily takes the laptop - this is just around the time I'd be IMing Colleen, she pouts - we'd talk for hours. Everything's out of control, she tears up - cancer's invading her body and her BFF's been kidnapped by a psychopath. Cane's sure Colleen's 'toughness' will get her through this. Lily thought that being Dru's daughter could get her through anything - but how can one prepare for all this stuff?
Back in the woods, Colleen insists she wouldn't have left Patty (and wants to get help). Patty doesn't want to be left (or die) alone. Colleen edges over to check Patty's fever. My Mom used to do that, Patty whispers.
Traci bounces Delia up and down on her knee - no fever. Seems like just yesterday Colleen was that small *sniff* Treasure every day. Getting a call from Paul, Jack updates that Colleen's car was found - but she's been through difficult situations before - she'll get through this too. Traci finds it 'funny' - they all see Colleen as an adult, but Colleen's her baby girl. Holding back a flood of emotion, Traci excuses herself to get coffee. I hate this, Billy sighs - while Chloe wonders why Mary Jane would go after Colleen (then is told that she's really Patty - Jack's ex wife). She shot you for cheating on her, Chloe 'the tabloid junkie' recalls. Jack explains that he felt too guilty to press charges - and thought she'd gotten on with her life (like he did). If Jack had known the 'sweet' girl he once knew would become such a mess, he'd have put her away years ago. She wasn't broken like that then, Traci returns to add - something must have happened to her AFTER she left GC.
Seated in the bedroom, Ashley launches into what she now sees clearly - that night of the storm she'd convinced herself that Victor was with Sabrina. Driving in the rain (and the dark) she saw someone - thinking it was Sabrina, Ashley hit her. It started coming back to her in bits and pieces - the more she remembered, the more real it felt. She thought she'd killed Sabrina. Victor stands to state the obvious - Sabrina's been dead for quite some time. Ashley tears up as she confesses that she hit Nikki (knowing it could cost her their marriage) - I may have killed her.
Unable to find Victor, Nick's sure Victor hasn't gone to bed (as the door was unlocked). Not eager to face the truth, Vikki suggests they come back tomorrow. If you could see the look on Abby and Traci's faces ... Paul and Jack both claim Patty was really sweet when she was young (before she shot Jack of course). Nick wonders if Patty was brought to GC to finish the job (by their Dad). No, he wouldn't go that far, Vikki denies (while Nick remains unconvinced).
Ashley doesn't blame Victor for hating her - she doesn't expect forgiveness. Victor doesn't - and will protect her. Ashley feels those worried about Nikki deserve to know the truth (and understands if Victor doesn't go to the police station with her). Victor won't let her go anywhere - if she hit Nikki, she'd have been found by now. ~hug~ I'll protect you - get the help you need. Ashley's horrified - you think I'm insane! Don't you?!
Cane brings out the box Neil sent over - sure there's something inside to put a smile on Lily's face. So much for taking her mind off Colleen, Lily goes through pictures she sent on her travels. Here's one from the Coliseum - and New York (pretending to be Audrey Hepburn at Tiffany's). And here's one from camp Cheveyo (where Colleen summered as a kid and then became a counselor). Lily then reads a letter she sent from the camp - ending with 'Cowabunga, Love Colleen'. Billy sent an email - wondering if he can come over. When Cane agrees (it's her house too), Lily thanks him - for everything.
Billy's 'the screw up' is not happy when Chloe reminds that he was the one to hire Mary Jane. He already feels like an ass. Chill out - Chloe was only saying that even HE (the cynic) didn't realize how warped MJ was. Billy chuckles - thank you. When his phone beeps, Billy decides to go for a walk. No, it wasn't Mac who sent him a text - it was Lily. No, Chloe won't give him a guilt trip (which Billy appreciates - along with her twisted sense of humour). Returning to the living room with Jack, Traci hears that Billy's gone to visit Lily, that 'sweet girl' who's been through so much - she and Colleen are like sisters. Trying hard to remain optimistic, Traci gives in to her tears (in Jack's supportive arms).
Ashley just told Victor the hardest thing she's ever had to tell anyone - and he doesn't believe a word of it. Just lie down, Victor suggests. Ashley does so - but wants to be left alone. Hesitating at the door, Victor leaves. You OK? Adam asks (in the hallway). You didn't want Ashley to tell me, Victor assumes - because you knew it would upset me to realize how sick she is. Adam's SO sorry. Victor appreciates all Adam's done for Ashley - but she needs professional help. Call DR Taylor - ask him to come immediately.
When Cane leaves them to speak privately, Billy jokes with Lily about how hot she looks bald. Lily thanks him for saying so - and coming by. Billy was glad to leave the 'house of gloom'. Traci? She's smiling through a parent's worst nightmare. Billy doesn't want to be negative - but is expecting the worst. Lily feels the same way about her cancer - psyching it from doing her in. What a coupla Gloomy Gus's, Billy jokes (though the pair are soon laughing about Colleen's antics). As Billy checks out the box, he howls at a photo of Colleen. Yeah, she looks happy, he agrees.
As Patty shivers on the ground, Colleen babbles about going for help. She knows these woods like the back of her hand - and WILL come back. See that lake over there? My Dad died saving someone - and Colleen owes it to his memory to save Patty. You can let us both die - or live. It's up to YOU. OK, Patty weakly tells Colleen to go. I'll be back, she promises as she runs off.
Now in his living room, Victor's tag teamed by Nick and Vikki. No, this can't wait. And it isn't about Summer - it's about the woman who put her in a coma - AND the person who brought Patty William's here. That person's YOU, Nick accuses. Victor claims he told Phyllis the truth. You're not behind her being here? Vikki still sounds hopeful. Victor doesn't want to discuss it right now. This is about Jack, Nick lays out his theory (revenge against Jack for the journal). Victor doesn't give a damn about Jack Abbott - and these accusations are depressing. Don't they know he's going through a difficult time? It's a difficult time for a lot of people, Nick points out - his wife is half way around the world trying to undo the damage done to their daughter. And now Colleen's been taken hostage. Victor would NOT do anything to cause pain to his family. Then stop dancing around the question, Nick growls - answer it.
Returning to Jack's, Billy reports that Lily's doing OK - she sent over some pictures and postcards from Colleen. Hearing Chloe and Delia are at the pool house, Billy heads that way (leaving Traci to fret some more about WHY - and WHERE Colleen is). Traci's then horrified to hear it's all Victor's doing (because of his hatred for Jack). Traci won't let Jack blame himself - you and Victor are blinded by your hatred - and MY baby is paying the price. Jack promises that if anyone pays the price, it will be Victor. Leaving Traci to cry, Jack slams out.
Adam returns to Ashley's room (where she lays, eyes wide open on her bed). Is she OK? You were right, Ashley admits - she shouldn't have said anything. Victor didn't believe her (and is making arrangements for her padded cell). Adam's sorry - wishing he'd been wrong. Ashley was so sure Victor would believe her - and now..... You don't deserve this, Adam actually looks guilty - not any of it.
Nick and Vikki now realize that Victor can't deny setting 'all this' in motion. Nick never judged him regarding Walter Palin (the murderer). But if he DID bring Patty to GC .... You knew and did nothing about it, Vikki implores. He did do something about it, Nick corrects - he put out a reward (after she nearly killed my daughter). Did you realize then that you unleashed a monster? Or did you only care that she hadn't finished the job? Is that it Dad? Nick badgers. You couldn't let Jack win? Vikki pleads - and when Victor decides to go 'see his wife', she begs him not to run away from this (and them). We NEED to know. Victor sighs - I'm not a murderer - directly nor indirectly. He made mistakes he only wishes he could undo.
Calling Colleen's cell, Lily leaves a message - asking that she come over for some ice cream (to fight her hot flashes - and put an end to the stupid rumours that are freaking her out. They can't be true). Call and let me know you're OK, she hangs up. Lily then shares her faint hope that Colleen's home in bed. Cane nods - yeah.
Vikki now realizes her father was behind everything Patty did. Let's get out of here, Nick snaps. Silent, and with a heavy heart (or constipation) Victor watches them leave. Upstairs, Ashley lays in bed - and as Adam lurks, Victor finds Jack at his door. Back at the Abbott's, Traci coos and gurgles at Delia, while Chloe and Billy watch on. Curled up on the ground shivering, Patty grows weaker - as Colleen thanks God when she comes across a canoe. Sliding it into the water, she hastily grabs an oar and paddles off.
Next: A grim faced JT and Paul listen to Billy on speakerphone. You had Patty and took her to a church. And now she's grabbed my niece, he growls ... Face to face, Jack accuses Victor - you brought Patty to town to take me out permanently. You brought in an unhinged woman to do your dirty work ... Now daylight, Patty awakens with a gasp. Aiming the gun, she asks - who's there?
My Thoughts: Chloe's at the pool house - where she 'thinks she left some formula'? She didn't bring some in her diaper bag? Why wouldn't she have taken the formula when she moved out? Let's hope she checks the expiry date ... Nick suggests Victor brought Patty to town to 'finish the job'? Kill Jack? If that was the goal, why wouldn't Victor just hire a pro? Surely he could have flown in one of his specialists - a real hitman ... Oh yeah - Chloe's so 'kind' - dumping her kid off on Traci (who's distraught enough at what might happen to her OWN child) .... Lily didn't want to wake Cane? Why is he sleeping on the couch anyway? If he's not sharing a bed with Lily, you'd think there'd be an extra bedroom he could crash out in ... Duh Colleen - what ARE you 'sticking around' for? Why is she so determined to help the woman who's kidnapped her (not to mention put Summer in a coma)? ... Whomever makes Ashley's bed every morning must be awfully annoyed with the inordinate amount of times Ashley musses it up by getting in and out of it ... Nick didn't want to call out to Vikki because he'd have 'scared' her? What's so scary about Nick shouting 'Hey Vikki. It's me, Nick'? You'd think she'd feel safe - with Victor's security team being on 'high alert' and all. Victor must feel pretty safe - to leave his front door unlocked ... You should have seen 'the look' on Abby's face when she heard about Colleen, Vikki says (like Abby actually HAS more than one expression). Not gifted with a wide range of expressions, Abby has the same look on her face (that sneering smile) - whether she's blasting Jack, bragging about her Olympic horse, or reaming Eden ..... Nick (the journalist) hadn't heard about Colleen's kidnapping? Why isn't anyone giving one of those popular press conferences? Perhaps then, Patty and Colleen would have been spotted while still on the road. If the police already 'have it covered' what exactly are they doing? Is anyone staking out the club? CL's? Jimmy's? ... With no one hearing from Nikki in 'weeks', how is it possible that she'd survive that long without food and water? And why haven't the ranch's guards (pr groundskeepers) stumbled upon her by now? ... If Lily's hot flashes are so bad - and she doesn't want to take 'sedatives' why not remove her head gear? Her sweater? Open a window? Get some ice packs? .. How exactly would being Dru's daughter enable Lily to handle anything? In death, she's really been elevated to superhero status .... Lily and Colleen sent 'cute puppy pictures' back and forth? Colleen doesn't even HAVE a dog ... 'My Mom used to do that', Patty whispers as Colleen checks her forehead for a temperature. What a coincidence, Colleen's Mom did too (like every other Mom doesn't do the same thing - cause a good ole rectal thermometer is so much easier).... How the hell would you know that? Billy's genuinely surprised that Chloe knows about Patty shooting Jack years ago. Gee - ya think an attempted murder charge involving a former Senator might reported in the news? And Chloe DOES work for a magazine ya know ... Colleen knows these woods 'like the back of her hand'? Surprising, considering it's been years since she was either a kid or a counselor at 'Camp Cheveyo' ... What the hell time of day or night is it anyway? It's 'around the time' Lily and Colleen would be exchanging IM's ... Billy chides Chloe for having Delia out so late - but according to Traci, the sun's coming up 'soon'. Yet - in the wee hours of the morning, everyone at the ranch is awake - Nick and Vikki are out and about ... Billy's going for a WALK - but asks Chloe if she wants anything while he's out? Like there's a 24 hour convenience store within walking distance to the Abbott mansion? Plus, Victor expects DR Taylor to be up at this late (or early) hour? And Colleen thinks she can 'find' a doctor? And is Billy walking to Cane's? He sure walks fast. Who knew Cane's was so close to the Abbott mansion?
