As Colleen's shoe gently falls to the lake, Lily awakens to convince Cane that he should go to bed. With a kiss on the cheek, Lily would like some time alone - and besides, he has a shift later. As Cane goes to snuggle with Humphrey, Lily prays for God to watch over Colleen and her family.
At the ranch, Ashley finds Abby in the living room. She's been thinking of the way Colleen was kicked off the board - is it true that Dad didn't want her there? Why doesn't he like Colleen? She's his Goddaughter, your niece - my sister. Ashley gives the usual 'it's complicated' (and stems from Victor's rivalry with Uncle Jack). That rivalry has hurt someone I love, Abby pouts - still unable to believe she was kidnapped. Of course Ashley will take Abby to see poor Aunt Traci. Don't worry about reaming Uncle Jack out - he understands. Ashley's surprised to hear Victor's not home - wondering where he went 'at this hour'.
At the Abbott mansion, Traci can't help but feel something terrible has happened. With Steve also finding it hard to remain positive, Billy blames Victor Newman - it's all his fault. He brought Patty to town, he explains. What!? Traci warns that Ashley's on her way - it's best they don't enlighten her. While Billy feels Ashley deserves to know what kind of man she's married to, Traci insists - the subject of Victor and Patty is strictly forbidden.
Running around the wooded area of Camp Cheveyo, Jack calls out for Colleen. Finding a piece of her scarf, but not noticing the drifting (and capsized) canoe in the background, he calls Paul to explain where he is (and that the camp's slogan is 'cowabunga') - he also found a scarf piece - why, it must be a trail. But unsure if he's on the right track, Jack instructs the PI's to continue searching their area. He'll call if he finds anything. Now spotting the canoe, Jack circles the lake - still calling Colleen's name. Pushing yet another handy row boat into the water, he paddles out. Napping against a tree, Patty's awakened by Jack's voice - and looks out to see him rowing like a champ towards the canoe. Jack! she exclaims weakly.
Traci updates Ashley that Jack left in an uproar. Out all night, she assumes he's looking for Colleen. Billy takes a call from Paul - and on speaker, he relays that Jack's following a hunch - at Camp Cheveyo. Has anyone heard from Victor? Ashley calls out - but Paul's already hung up. Why would Ashley ask about Victor? It's unlike him to be out so early - or to disappear without saying anything. Billy bites his tongue.
Now onshore, Jack lays the unconscious Colleen down for some CPR. Come on Colleen - breath for me! As Jack dials his phone, Patty orders him to put it down (at gun point). Patty doesn't want to be blamed for this. As Jack's phone rings, Jack claims it could be Paul (who's worried sick about her). Let me answer it, Jack pleads, frustrated when his phone stops ringing. Let her live Patty! he implores.
Lily answers a knock at the door - then hugs the soaking wet Colleen. My gosh! I'm freezing! Colleen explains she fell in the lake - like an idiot. But look, she left a trail with her scarf. Ingenious huh? Like Hansel and Gretel. Lily sits Colleen down and puts a blanket around her shoulders. Nice and toast now? Yes, Colleen's much better now - but what's wrong? We thought you were in trouble, Lily stammers - we should call everyone to tell them you're OK. No - wait, Colleen wanted to see her BFF - to tell Lily that she loves her (and that she's not gonna die).
At the ranger's station, Paul and JT wonder why Jack's not answering his phone. JT's frustrated and worried, but won't let Paul blame himself for not turning Patty in when he had the chance. If anyone's to blame, it's Victor. We'll find her, Paul assures. JT hopes so - there's a connection between him and Colleen. He felt it when rescuing her from the fire at Gina's - and when Brad went missing. Of all people, she turned to HIM. She knows I'll never let her down. And since her Dad died, he's felt like her guardian angel. He knows they shouldn't be this close - he's a married man. I dunno ... Paul sees nothing wrong with JT's concern (and need to bring Colleen home safely).
I'm just gonna call Paul, Jack insists - he wants to help. Patty's not buyin' it. And 'as if' he cares that she's in pain. Colleen wanted to help YOU - let me make ONE call, Jack pleads. She can go ahead and shoot him, but Jack won't let his niece die!
Back at the ranger's station, Paul answers Jack's call (while Patty warns she'll shoot Colleen if he doesn't hang up by the time she counts to three). 1...2... Fine - here's the phone, Jack obeys. YOU call Paul. Push redial. He'll proud of you for ... No! he protests when Patty throws the phone away. She could die! he wails. Is that what you want!? I didn't ask for this, Patty weeps. SHE didn't ask for this either - SHE wasn't after you, Jack points out. She went to get YOU help. She's a good girl! Just like I was, Patty also isn't impressed that Jack will forget he saw her. Just like he forgot to 'forsake all others'. Let me help her! Jack repeats.
When JT informs Paul that the car's gassed up and ready to go, Paul relays the call from Jack's phone. He only heard Patty say 'drop it or I'll shoot her'. The PI's conclude that either Jack threw the phone away to appease Patty, or ... Let's go! they race out.
Lily admits she sometimes thinks she'll die - like when she's alone and scared, or feeling sick from the chemo. Colleen talks about hope - to remain positive no matter what's going on. You've always been on my side, Lily smiles. Well duh, Colleen jokes. Lily's serious - when everyone told her to forget Cane, SHE'S the one who told her to follow her heart. If not for Colleen, she'd have sent Cane away - and regretted it. She'll always be grateful for Colleen's support (and so believes it when Colleen says she's not gonna die). Also, Colleen had a vision of what's in store for Lily - it's gonna change her life forever.
As the Abbott's pace, Steve reports that Traci's getting Abby settled in the guest room. Why hasn't anyone gotten back to them? And when Billy chafes at Steve's whole 'voice of reason' thing, Steve snaps back - who does Billy think he's talking to? He RAISED Colleen! He loves her as his own daughter!
Calling again, Paul's put on speakerphone to update that Jack called - but his phone cut out. Victor? They just saw his car on the side of the road. The doors were locked and there's no sign of him (which, frankly, worries Paul). When Ashley suggests Victor's out looking for Colleen, an agitated Billy abruptly ends the call ~click~ Kinda abrupt don'tcha think? Steve scolds. And when Ashley again mentions Victor, Billy's unable to hold back any longer - and so blurts out that if Victor's out there, he's not looking for Colleen (whom he doesn't give a damn about) - he's making sure his 'pet psycho' finishes the job she was hired to do!
Holding hands, Colleen shares Lily's fantastic future - some day she's gonna be holding her baby in her arms. Impossible, Lily says - the chances are so slim (with the frozen eggs). Colleen's sure - it was YOUR baby. So sure, she had to come and tell Lily. I love you so much, Lily gushes - I thought I'd lost you forever. You'll never lose me, Colleen promises - but she should get going. Where? Stay, Lily begs - let's cuddle - please. OK, Colleen agrees.
Ashley wants to know what Billy's talking about - finish WHAT job? Victor barely KNEW Patty. Despite Traci and Steve's warnings, Billy thinks Ash needs to know the truth (and so sits her down to explain what she needs to hear). Victor brought Patty to GC. He knew the history - that Patty shot Jack (and was mentally messed up). Victor fixed her face and gave her a new ID. Ashley laughs - ridiculous! Victor put up a million dollars for her capture. And has Billy forgotten that Patty tried to kill Victor's granddaughter. Come ON! What's his motive? To finish the job he stared years ago, Billy answers - to kill our brother.
Gun aimed at Jack (as he kneels beside Colleen), Patty's seen the look he's giving Colleen - and gave to Sharon and Phyllis. But never HER - all SHE got was a knife in the heart. Now in tears, Patty snivels that she loved Jack when she married him - and when she came back. It was all about YOU. She sometimes still gets that 'flutter' - and wants to be held. But sometimes she wants to put a bullet through his heart. Admitting he treated her badly, Jack wishes he could take it all back. We HAD a second chance - this is it! Patty snarls - and her aim is better than it used to me. And as she seems ready to pull the trigger, Victor pops up to confuse Patty - put down the gun.
Having made a pot of tea, Lily realizes she's talking to an empty room. Colleen? Where'd you go? Gasping, Lily awakens on the sofa with a start. Looking over at chair, she sees the blanket she put around Colleen's shoulder (but it hasn't been moved). Running to open the front door, Lily calls out 'Colleen'! On the ground, she sees a hose out (and the tiles are wet). Hugging a blanket around her, Lily sobs. Coming out, Cane takes her in his arms. Shhh - it's alright.
Hands on her hips, Ashley thanks God that Abby didn't hear the accusations against her father. Her husband a would-be murderer? I don't think so! Billy thinks Abby grown up enough to know what kind of monster she's living with. And though Billy appeals to them for back up, Traci and Steve can't corroborate his theory without proof. Ashley doesn't want to hear anymore. I'm so sorry, Traci gives her a hug. But grabbing Traci's head to look into her eyes, Ash demands to know if Traci believes it. Traci stammers that they don't know the facts on why Victor brought Patty to GC. Ashley needs air - ALONE! I need some TIME! she barks at her fussing family - why can't anybody hear me!? And as Steve heads out to follow along behind Ashley (to ensure she's OK), Traci lashes out at Billy - You happy now!?
Put the gun down, Victor says - it's over. Jack tells him to go away - stay out of this. Too late for that - Patty and I know that, Victor offers her some food, medicine, money - we created Mary Jane together, didn't we? She can have a new identify - IF she'll only hand over the gun. Patty scoffs that Victor can throw money at her and she won't be a problem anymore. I'm a REAL person. Did EITHER of you think of THAT? NO! That's why Jack didn't realize his new bedmate was his ex wife - and is THIS what Victor meant by a 'happy ending' for her? Another gun - and Jack dead this time? And as Jack reminds that Colleen needs to get to a hospital, Patty ignores him to assume this was Victor's plan all along. She COULD make him proud and shoot his enemy - bang bang. Since this was Victor's party to begin with - maybe it's HIS time to bleed. Don't do this, Victor states simply.
The distraught Lily insists it wasn't a bad dream - it was SO real. Colleen was soaking wet - fell in a lake. I wrapped this blanket around her. And then she told me.... My gosh! Lily picks up a fragment of Colleen's scarf - she was wearing it in my dream. She wasn't hurt - she was comforting ME. Crying in Cane's arms, Lily can't shake the feeling that something is really wrong.
Back at the Abbott's, Billy wonders why they haven't heard from Paul again. Traci's quite - you don't want to hear what I have to say to you little brother. Billy's sorry - maybe he shouldn't have gone off at the mouth - but haven't they tried to get Ashley away from that crazy monster? He's sorry if he hurt Ashley - but if it gets her away from Victor it's worth it.
Returning to the ranch, Ashley cries over a framed photo of her and Victor, flashing back to his proposal. Shattering the picture on the floor, she stomps on it. Head in her hands, she sits to sob some more.
Patty points the gun at Jack - and then Victor. Eeny, meanie, miney ... Mo. Who will be the one to go? And as Paul and JT hike along, they find a piece of scarf with dried blood - someone's hurt. Paul then gets a call from Steve - tell us something, the Connelly's implore. They're 100 yards from the lake and will call when they know something. All then are horrified to hear gun shots.
Next: I'm leaving Victor, Ashley snaps at Adam as she packs - when he gets home, I'll be long gone ... At Memorial, Chance tells the Abbott's (and Nick with his arm around Abby) that a search has been organized in and around the woods. Billy's furious - you know, if she gets away with this ... Its me Pattycake, it's Paul - I'm gonna help you, Paul approaches gently (in some cabin - where Patty sits rocking, clutching Kitty Kitty).
My Thoughts: How nice that Ashley finally climbed out of bed - and actually left the ranch. She spends more time in her PJ's than Hugh Hefner ... Why is it that the bossy Traci gets to decide what Billy says - and to whom? ... Steve RAISED Colleen? Who knew? I always thought we had Brad to blame, I mean credit for that .... Just how many boats are conveniently moored on the banks of this lake - just waiting for an Abbott to hop aboard? ... If Patty's close enough to the lake to spot Jack paddling around, why didn't SHE spot the overturned canoe? And how did Jack FIND Colleen in that deep lake? Did he bring along his snorkeling gear? Since Jack (and later JT and Paul) are able to run around the entire circumference of the lake without breaking a sweat, why did Colleen even feel the need to take a short cut by paddling across the lake. Couldn't she have made it on foot too? She IS in flats after all .... Why would Paul be at all 'worried' that Victor's car was found - without him in it? You wouldn't think he'd give a rats ass about the man who manipulated his unstable sister - or is the reason Nikki became a runaway bride ... Yeah Ashley - it's soooo 'unlike' Victor to disappear. He never, ever does that - oh, except for that time he disappeared to Mexico - oh yeah - and the time before that when he took off to New Mexico .. and don't forget the time he disappeared to Kansas. But other than that, yeah, Victor never, ever disappears (despite his disappearance being the reason Ashley found him in Paris) ... Jack sure managed to stay relatively dry, sweat and dirt free - considering his heroic (if not somewhat half hearted) actions to save Colleen. His light coloured khaki's aren't even soiled at all. That's it Jack - just keep shouting 'breath' at Colleen - and make your one and only call to Paul - not 911 (what do THOSE schmucks know). He really needs to take a refresher course in CPR - and negotiating a hostage situation 101 (cause I think calling the kidnapper a 'crazy bitch' would be on the list of things NOT to say). Jack also spent a lot of time whining about Colleen needing help - while she just lay there. Duh - Patty didn't tell you to stop administering CPR! If you're so determined to save your niece, keep huffing and puffing in her mouth - did Jack get bored? Or did Colleen eat something garlicky? ... This is PROBABLY your brother Paul, Jack says as his phone rings. Doesn't his cell display the number (the way Paul's did when Jack called HIM)? And why did Jack wait til he hit land to start making calls. Had he called 911 while paddling, the ambulance likely woulda made it to the lake by the time he did. Guess Jack's cell has no call display OR speakerphone. Come to think of it, Jack could have started CPR in the canoe .... Huh? Colleen whacks her head on the canoe hard enough to knock herself out - but only complains of being cold? No headache? No bruising or blood? Of all the places to go, Colleen heads to Lily's? Not to dear old Mom (and the stepdad who 'raised' her)? ... JT's Colleen's 'guardian angel'? Good job. But I thought he was Vikki's guardian angel (cause he saved HER too).. Odd that Lily credits Colleen with being the one to tell her to stick with Cane (as it was really Mac who showed the most support) ... How cute that Lily wants to cuddle on the couch with Colleen (I guess the guys shouldn't be the ones having ALL the same sex fun) ... Wow Ashley - Victor put up a million dollars - 'of his OWN money'? As a reward for finding Patty? Duh - who elses money would he have put up? That's not exactly a huge amount for the billionaire (who spent more than that on a pony for Abby - a gift that she bragged about for a coupla weeks - then never mentioned again).. While Billy's theory is essentially correct - he really IS jumping to conclusions. There isn't any proof that Victor's goal was to have Jack killed. He merely wanted Patty to keep an eye on Jack. And what's JT's proof that Patty's got a gun? Because Colleen's too damn smart to be overpowered otherwise? Because the gun John left in a drawer in the living room is missing? Big deal - there's been plenty of other visitors to the cabin who could have swiped it. Or better yet - maybe they thought it was pretty stupid to leave a gun and ammo so easily accessible, so moved it for safekeeping ... Billy also tells Ashley that Victor didn't have an ax to grind with Victor (huh? I again refer to Nikki dumping Paul - because of her undying love for Victor) ..... If Lily's feeling so helpless - and can't just 'do nothing' why doesn't she too get out of her robe and go lounge on the Abbott's sofa? Ashley managed... Odd that not one person's mentioned it being the same lake Brad died in. You'd think Colleen would have mentioned it to Lily (instead of saying she fell in 'a' lake) ... Yeah - thank God Abby was upstairs and didn't hear Billy's accusations against her 'father' - guess the Abbott mansion has the same sound proofing as the ranch. With folks questioning her sanity, Ashley should watch the way she grabs people's heads to speak to them (she almost gave Traci whiplash) ... Paul tells the Abbott's that Jack's at Camp Cheveyo - it's 'not far' from there. I guess not - since Jack, then the PI's arrive there in less time than it takes to brew a pot of tea ... That's just great Ashley - how irresponsible and thoughtless - smashing a framed photo on the floor - leaving shattered glass all over the place (so the poor blind guy can walk by in his socks and cut himself) ...It's a bit hypocritical of Patty to blast Jack for ignroing the 'forsaking all others' vow - when she's ignoring that pesky 'thou shalt not kill' commandment ... And nice going Patty. I'm guessing there's some pretty pissed off duck hunters who are cursing her for firing the gun (and sending their dinner flying off) .. |
