While Mike's in Victor's room - being asked to get Victor moved up the list for a new heart (by building a new hospital of sumthin'), DR Snyder talks to Colleen's family about donating her organs. Traci balks - it's NOT what she wanted - she wanted to LIVE - to get married and have babies, she breaks down (as the DR gives then time to decide).

In her room, Sharon's knitting is interrupted by contractions. Lurking in the lounge, Adam's 'bothered' by a patient - then updates DR Taylor that Ashley had a melt down - but not half the melt down she's gonna have if she finds out she's not pregnant.

Meanwhile, Jack gives Ashley a pep talk - she can check herself out anytime she likes (but she should rest and prepare for motherhood). The best thing Ash can do for Traci (and Victor) is get better. Having finished checking Ashley out, the nurse reports her blood pressure's elevated but coming down. Good girl, Jack verbally pats her atop the head.

Back in Colleen's room, Traci apologizes for falling apart - then falls apart some more. Oh no - she won't be sedated for her last few moments with her daughter. But how can the DR ask her to make this decision - think of another family - at a time like this.

Holding vigil at Victor's bedside, Nikki forgives him for falling asleep. The kids? With Mike - doing their best to find him a heart. Hang in there - stay strong. Ashley? Jack took her home. Victor thinks that good (for her and the baby).

Of course Adam told DR Taylor that Ashley's here, Jack scowls - as the good doctor introduces himself to the nurse. I'll take it from here, thank you. Jack would love to hear the baby's heartbeat - but has to leave to take a call. I'll be right be, he assures the nervous Ashley. In the hallway, Jack's updated (by Billy) that Colleen being taken off life support. Jack has good news - Ashley's checked herself in. Victor? He's still alive, Billy replies. Jack will be there shortly - don't mention Ashley. Traci's got enough on her mind.

By the time Jack returns, DR Taylor's putting his stethoscope away. Everything looks perfect. Ash is fine with Jack returning to Memorial. She's in good hands, DR Taylor confirms. And as Jack exits, Adam lurks outside Ashley's room.

Back at Memorial in record time, Billy ends his call to Mac. Abby's sleeping in the lounge - poor kid cried herself to sleep. And now, they have to decide whether to donate Colleen's organs. It's Traci's call, Jack reminds - but they'll help Traci get through this.

In Colleen's room, Traci can't make any sense of the documents she's to sign. Oh Jack, she wails when he comes in - what are we gonna do? Jack advises they do what Colleen would want - live our lives - be happy. Ashley's doing fine - getting the best care. Jack only wishes he could do more for Traci.

In the chapel, a grim Vikki and Nick remember when Victor 'died' in Mexico. It's hard to accept that Dad's mortal. He plays God - messes with people's lives. He never learns - and when things backfire, Dad blames Jack. Neither are holding their breath for an apology (for what Patty did). So - if ... when Victor gets his new heart, should they forgive him? Forget what he's done? Assume he's been punished enough already? Maybe accept who Dad is - and love him anyway. Like Dad does for Adam. Hmm - where the heck IS Adam anyway??

Oh look - there he is. 'Thoughtfully' checking in on Ashley. As she goes to the bathroom, 'Chuckles' assures Adam that he managed to pull rank (and be the one examine Ashley). It's getting too close, both fret. Meanwhile, Sharon staggers out of her room - someone help me - I think my baby's coming!

With Adam refusing to give up (after all these months), DR Taylor wonder how much he plans to put this poor woman through before he's happy. She's in a mental hospital. What happens when her non existent baby's due!? Ashley returns to hear Adam will be staying there until she leaves. She appreciates his loyalty - but prefers to be alone. The nurse returns - a pregnant woman's in distress. With only psychiatrists on staff, couldn't he help?

The kids, and Victor Nikki hear Mike's good and bad news. He's 'fairly high' on the list - but it's a slim chance. What about another country? Nikki suggests. But Victor knows he won't survive the trip. There's another possibility - designated donation. Nikki knows all about that - when she and Jack lost their son. Mike too - he donated a kidney to Danny Romalotti. Nick sums it up grimly - they need to find someone dying (who's willing to give them a heart).

Jack talks to Traci about donating his son's organs - he didn't die in vain. Yes, they actually met the child - felt his own son's heart beating in the child's chest. It gave his death meaning. So, what's Traci's problem? The finality - once she signs the document, Traci loses her darling girl forever. Jack will support her 100% - but one more thing - if she goes along with this, a part of Colleen will go on loving. And with that, Traci signs the papers.

When Ashley agrees that Adam can stay until DR Taylor returns, he suggests she detach herself from Victor's condition - the baby should be her priority. But Ashley feels responsible for Victor's heart attack (telling him their marriage was based on lies). When Adam blames the bullets in his heart, Ashley declares him a 'good friend'. Everything will be OK.

In the hallway, Nikki and the kids wonder where to come up with a heart. Stake out emergency room? Hit the Internet? Press conference? Mike's on that - the Newman's will offer anything the donor family needs - medical coverage, transportation ... The next problem is finding a heart that's a match.

DR Taylor examines and questions Sharon (7.5 months along, she's who's now having contractions 5 minutes apart). And these ain't no pansy Braxton Hicks. Oh God - my water just broke! No stopping it now, DR Taylor says grimly.

Back in Victor's room, the Newman's give Abby condolences - and tut tut about poor Traci. Hearing Traci was approached about donating Colleen's organs, Nikki hugs Abby - but over her shoulder catches Vikki's eye.

Her contractions increasing, Sharon starts snarling at DR Taylor - she's NOT having this baby HERE! But why not? DR Taylor's delivered lots of babies.

In her room, Ashley talks to Adam about the decisions she needs to make before the baby comes. She can't come to terms with what Victor's done - but how can she take 2 girls away from their father? Adam speaks of his anger towards Victor - how he wanted revenge - but seeing Dad laying in hospital - those feelings evaporated. He's no monster - just Victor - a fragile, fallible human being. He really loves you, Ashley assures. Hope was the most giving person Ashley's known (and she sees a lot of her in Adam). Thanks, Adam manages through the lump in his throat. Ashley yelps in pain - a contraction - it's time! Adam has a 'deer in the headlights' look.

DR Snyder takes the signed documents from Traci - you'll find great comfort in your decision, she assures before leaving the Abbott's to weep. Nikki creeps in - but witnessing the grief, has second thoughts (and retreating quietly, closes the door without being seen).

As Ashley squeals and gasps in pain, Adam tries to convince her it's too early - it's gas - or indigestion. But Ashley knows she's in labour. Get a doctor you idiot!

Between contractions, Sharon tells DR Taylor that her son was born prematurely - do they even have an incubator here!? As he goes to call an ambulance, Adam reports that Ashley's 'in labour'. What!? Now!? Taylor snorts in disgust. A light bulb going off above his head, Adam orders Taylor to deliver Sharon's baby - just do your part! And as the good DR returns to Sharon, Adam approaches the patient who pestered him before. Still wanna get outta here? She does - thanks to Adam. Don't worry about the alarm, he hustles her out - just run!

Taking Abby's hand, Victor tells her not to worry - look after yourself, your Mom, your little sister. Huh? Did Mike miss something? My soon to be little sister, Abby clarifies with a smile. And as Nick and Vikki return, Abby's sent off to the cafeteria with Mike for a chocolate milkshake. Victor wanted to talk to them - in case they don't find a heart in time ... Say anything that's in your heart, he wants nothing left unsaid.

Jack invites Nikki into Colleen's room. How's Victor? Well, that's why she's there. No time to be 'delicate' - Victor needs a new heart and won't live long enough to get to the top of a list. If there's any chance, that by the grace of God Colleen and Victor are a match ... Nikki just wanted to ask if they'd consider designating Colleen's heart for Victor. Needless to say, the Abbott's glare at Nikki in disbelief.

Peter Bergman (Jack) makes a PSA. Find out how YOU can be a tissue or organ donor. Go to donatelife.net. or call 1-800-355-7427.

Next: As Mac hovers with a sour face, Billy speaks passionately to Jack - We cannot take Colleen's legacy like this - not for Victor Newman .. In bed, Sharon shrieks (as DR Taylor rolls his sleeves up) - I need to be in a hospital - where they can monitor my baby's heart rate in a sterile environment!!! ... You stay calm - cause you're gonna deliver this baby! a wide eyed Ashley barks at Adam.

My Thoughts: Line of the day goes to Ashley - does Adam realize how hard it would be to take two girls away from their father? Funny that it didn't bother her when she initially deprived Victor of even KNOWING his daughter - and then didn't hesitate in 'taking' Abby away from Brad ... How on earth would Mike know that Colleen was an 'excellent' sister to Abby? He doesn't really know either girl ... The psych. hospital is 'one of the best' facilities in the state? A 'first rate' facility? Yet the gloomy decor is more shabby than chic - patients have no phone or TV in their rooms. Patients wander freely to ambush visitors and newly admitted guests (but, once caught by the staff are permitted to do so only until 'lights out')? Admitting a woman in her last trimester of pregnancy with no OB GYN on staff? A visiting DR is not only authorized, but ordered to deliver a baby without his credentials even being checked? .... I'd be most interested to know - exactly what ARE the odds of Colleen's heart being a match for Victor Newman (who then, ironically, talks about the need to be 'realistic'). Shouldn't the heart go to someone with their whole life ahead of them (instead of someone who's best years are behind him?)... How is Mike supposed to get Victor up higher on the donor list? Call in favours? Offer money? ... Again Traci refers to leaving Colleen on 'all these' machines (which make absolutely no noise - almost like someone's already pulled the plug). .. Victor's right - it's not good for Ashley to be at the hospital (where'd she be thrilled to see 'good friend' Nikki playing the role of devoted wife) ... Isn't it a bit blasphemous for Nick and Vikki to be tossing around the word God - in a chapel? And I don't recall Victor ever having a 'come to Jesus' moment ... Traci doesn't understand the organ donation consent forms? As a successful writer, you'd think she'd have a good grasp of the written word ... What's with all the uneccesary apologies? Traci's sorry for 'falling apart' - Ashley's sorry she had to go to the bathroom? ... Ashley asks DR Taylor to check on this 'poor woman' - 'whoever she is' (but never bothered to ask Jack what facility his ex wife is in?) ... Jack claims the only comfort he and Nikki had was knowing their son's death helped another child live? As I recall it wasn't long before Nikki's comfort came from Victor ... Adam's gonna stay at the psychiatric facility for as long as Ashley does? This ain't no hotel JR. And is the driver who took him there still patiently waiting outside? ... Hey Ashley - didn't you say you needed 'peace and quiet'? So, why are you yelling? Maybe the other patients would like some peace and quiet too ... Kinda funny to hear Ashley assure Adam that she is indeed having the baby now - cause she's had babies before - and just knows hers is on it's way ... DR Taylor thinks the least of his problems in delivering Sharon's baby and passing it off as Ashley's is that people will 'hear'? How about where he gonna come up with a dead infant to convince Sharon that hers died? Wouldn't a nurse at least offer to assist? Nowadays, thanks to DR's like 'DR Chuckles', it's policy for a nurse to be present when a doctor's examining a patient. Hard to believe no one's gonna pop in to see if DR Taylor needs a hand - at least to get him some clean towels n' stuff .. With nothing other than a sign warning that an alarm will sound if the door's opened, why does the escaped patien even need Adam to open the door for her? It wasn't locked - And how far is she supposed to 'run like hell'? Won't she eventually come to a fence or wall? ... When coming to ask for Colleen's heart, couldn't Nikki have shown a bit more interest in the young woman who's laying there. Perhaps shed a few faux tears - pretend she doesn't see Colleen's death as winning the lottery?
