Planning a movie night out with the Baldwin's, Phyllis (who's taking Summer) has fixed Nick 'a plate'. She's disappointed when no amount of prodding can coax Summer into saying 'I love you' to Daddy (who's just glad she's home).

In her suite, Sharon goes through a box of her belongings. Pausing over a print-out of an 'exquisite' property, she tears up at the memory of house hunting with Nick.

As she dusts, Ester scolds the unapologetic Chloe for stringing Chance along - and why so negative about her date? All for retro, Chloe whines about the 'terminally hick' Harvest Festival (that Chance is taking her to). Ester finds it charming when Chance rings the doorbell to his own house - to pick Chloe up 'like a proper lady'. Isn't that sweet? 'Adorable', Chloe forces a smile.

In Deacon's suite, Gloria accepts a glass of Chardonnay. She's 'this close' to having the Terroni (which she's sure she can convince Kevin is rightfully hers). She'll have it in Deacon's hand tonight - and he's to have 5 million in cash for her.

At CL's, Daniel announces it's deadline time (and time to give Deacon the Terroni - or he gets Amber). Amber has a better idea - she keeps her freedom AND the Terroni (which will be sold for a lotta cash). Nu uh - Kevin insists the painting's going back to the museum (and his share of the reward to freeing Ryder). And as the bickering gets louder, Mike comes over - he knows there was no art show in Detroit (and that they have the real Terroni). Now, EXACTLY what are they up to?

After putting Summer to bed, Nick comments that he's seen all Summer's work books from the clinic. Phyllis is puzzled - she was making progress and now she's clammed up. She understands why Nick's exhausted - his Dad .. and losing a child on top of it. Thanks to Jack, she now knows that Sharon kept the paternity a secret for Summer's sake. For you too, Nick adds - she knew we needed to be strong for each other. Phyllis feels she should go apologize for misjudging Sharon.

Continuing to go through the cardboard box, Sharon mopes over baby stuff (again flashing back to happier times with Nick). Snapping out of it, she angrily rips up a print out of the home she was to share with Nick.

Still at CL's, Daniel explains to Mike that they're trying to figure out a way to play Deacon (so he can't blackmail anyone anymore). Mike wonders if any of them realize how dangerous this is - how much money is involved. There could be contracts out on all their heads. When Kevin points out that he wouldn't be involved if Mike had only represented Ryder, Mike puts a stop to it - this painting will be surrendered to the authorities (despite Daniel's objection). Sashaying over, Glo hopes Mike's convincing the thieves to return the painting they stole from her. Repeating that the painting's to be returned to the museum, Mike finally wonders where it is. And when no one comes forward, he walks - don't expect him to represent them when they're arrested. Amber then quietly insists to Daniel that they get some money outta Deacon (for all he's put them through). But no - Daniel just wants to stick to the deal. Stay AWAY from Deacon, he orders.

Chloe and Chance mosey about the Harvest Festival (complete with prize winning goats). Who knew there was this much plaid in the world? And when Chance chides her for looking down her nose, Chloe reminds that he was pre-warned - this is not her scene. Loosen up - live a little, he challenges. OK - Chloe vows to kick his ass at apple bobbing. OK, he chases after her with a grin.

Nick plays with chats with Summer. Mommy should be back by the time the Baldwin's come to pick her up. You're stuck with Daddy. Hey - can you say that? No - she can't. S'OK - Nick heard she did well in Switzerland. He's so proud of Summer ~hug~ I love you.

Now on the patio, Daniel lectures Amber - why does she think Deacon will give her any money? Never mind that Amber 'knows his weakness'. No amount of money is worth her degrading herself again, he insists. You don't trust me with Deacon, Amber snaps - I thought you understood I did that for YOU, she huffs off.

Meanwhile, Gloria and Kevin are having it out over the painting. Needing to get back to Lauren and Fen (who are waiting in the car), Mike just stopped off for hot chocolate - not to get involved in their latest felony. He'll just have his drinks to go. Snap to it, Kevin orders Gloria. And as Gloria does as she's told, Mike dissuades Kevin from using the reward money to help Ryder. Kevin just wants Ryder to have the same chance that Mike did him. Could Mike be the liaison between the cops and the museum? When Lauren marches in to see what's taking so long, Mike complains he got sucked in to referee. He'll be right out. Hurry - Lauren doesn't want to miss the previews. Mike will put out some feelers - determine the best way to handle it. Put the Terroni in a safe place he warns. As Mom and son eyeball one another, Kevin will make sure 'that one' (Gloria) and Daniel don't get their hands on it.

As Kevin comments on the heated discussion between Amber and Daniel, Daniel worries about Mike going to the authorities. Glo's concern is their failure to agree on what to do with the painting. Daniel needs time to see Deacon - and to figure out a plan they can all profit from. After he leaves, Gloria works on Kevin - hard. But no way Kevin's handing the Terroni over - it belongs to the museum. Deal with it!

Deacon welcomes Amber into his suite - how's life in that tiny room? You're happier there than here? he scoffs, then applauds when Amber continues to stand by her man. Bravo - now say it like you mean it, he quips.

Having the time of their lives, Chance and Chloe are soaking wet as they bob for apples. Double or nothing! Chloe cackles as Chance comes up the winner. Dunking her head one more time, Chloe demands a prize. Gimme the cheese hat, Chance requests - then puts it atop Chloe's head. All hail the cheddar queen! he applauds as Chloe parades around proudly (much to the amusement of the other festival goers). You look hot as hell, Chance smiles adoringly.

When the Baldwin's arrive, Nick tells the Baldwin's that Phyllis should be back soon, then thanks them for taking Summer. No problem - and if Nick needs help over at NE, Mike's eager to help. Nick thinks it's covered, but whines about an upcoming meeting. He then suggests the Baldwin's take the kids to the movies - Phyllis can meet them there. And where IS Phyllis? Visiting Sharon (no, not at the psych ward). Nick then updates that Sharon lost the baby, and when Mike sympathizes with Jack, Nick confides the baby was his. Meanwhile, a depressed Sharon opens her door - and finds herself face to face with Phyllis.

Phyllis knows it's not a good time - but stammers that she just wanted to say how sorry she is. Sighing, Sharon steps aside to allow Phyllis in, then listens, hands on hips as Phyllis goes on about Summer (and how does one get over losing a child). You DON'T get over it, Sharon snaps - you learn to live with it, and move on. Phyllis now knows that Sharon sacrificed for her and her family - and is very grateful .. and ashamed that she misjudged Sharon. Shame? Regret? - is that ALL you're feeling right now? Sharon wonders.

Back at CL's, Gloria's not done with Kevin. Maybe Daniel's already giving the painting to Deacon right now? Kevin doubts it - but the seed of doubt sown, figures he'll check on it anyway. No - Gloria isn't allowed to come with him (cause then SHE'D know the hiding place). Close up, Kevin barks as he marches out. You're in charge, Gloria orders the waitress - as she hurries after him.

Amber chides Deacon - she can't be bought - what kind of low life would want a woman who COULD be? Deacon has something for her - you WILL want it (a wedding gift). You love your baubles, he knows - exquisite, no? Amber pretends not to be impressed by the diamond necklace - it's gaudy. Deacon moves her hair aside and does the clasp up in the back. Standing behind her in the mirror, he begins to caress. Amber wavers - it's very ... sparkly. A knock at the door interrupts. Needless to say, Daniel's not happy to see Amber there. She was just trying on her wedding gift, Deacon smugly informs (while Amber looks busted).

Complete with large stuffed animal, Chance brings Chloe (still in her cheese hat) back to the estate - where did you learn to shoot like that? A fashionista showing up a trained marksman, she whoops - how embarrassing. And she's one hell of a polka dancer too. Chloe admits she had fun - she can be herself with Chance ~kiss~

How gracious of you, Sharon doesn't sound convinced - assuming Phyllis must be a bit relieved. Summer's improving - you and Nick are solid now. There's nothing tying Nick to me - your odds just improved. OK, Phyllis gets it - given their history (how Sharon would feel that way). But it's not true - she gets no relief or triumph in Sharon's daughter dying - only sadness. Phyllis would never wish this on anyone - least of all Sharon (who turns her back crying silent tears).

Take it off, NOW! Give it back, Daniel snaps (as the amused Deacon watches on). These diamonds are worth a fortune, Amber hisses. Daniel doesn't give a damn - give it back! Walk out with me right now or it's over! Angered when Amber hesitates, Daniel's had enough. If a little bling is all it takes, Deacon's welcome to her. In fact, he and Amber deserve one another! You win! The painting stays with Daniel (who no longer cares if Deacon frames him).No wait, Amber's left to sputter.

Returning to the closed and darkened coffee shop, Kevin has the painting in hand as he looks for a hiding place (finally unrolling it and placing it on the back of a cheap painting he then returns to it's spot). No sooner has he left, than Gloria sneaks in - making a beeline for the painting. She gazes in awe at the masterpiece she now has in her hands.

Chance and Chloe kiss - and talk about how fabulous each other are. Wait, wait, wait, Chance thinks things are going to fast. Not for Chloe - she's only married on paper. Oh that - yeah, Chance wants to wait (and hopes Chloe understands). Of course she does - one day he'll marry one lucky lady. The passion extinguished, Chance takes Chloe's hand - he had fun - let's do it again soon. And with one more kiss, the discombobulated Chance makes his way out (coming back for his jacket - then stumbling on the step).

So good of you to come, Sharon shows Phyllis the door. We're never gonna be best friends, Phyllis concludes as she exits - but she'll never forget what Sharon did for Summer in the hospital - and if she ever needs anything .. Thank you, Sharon answers. Phyllis means it - just ask. Closing the door, Sharon looks relieved to be alone.

Back at the tackhouse, (an older) Fen and Summer are done playing upstairs. Nick's sorry to have kept them. No problem - they'll just catch the next showing. And when Nick explains to Summer that Mommy will meet them there, he's stunned and delighted when Summer recites - Bye bye Daddy. I love you ~hug~

Next: Jack couldn't be more stunned when Billy makes his announcement - I've made my decision. I'm gonna resign from Jack ...Ashley's beside the bassinet - it'll give us a chance to clear the air about that night of the storm. Let's get it all out in the open, Nikki agrees ... I haven't head from the funeral home, Sharon explains. Funeral home? Adam looks puzzled. The ashes, Sharon clarifies.

My Thoughts: Suddenly the epitome of empathy, why didn't Phyllis take the time to console Traci - her former sister in law? ... Phyllis actually sounds sincere - both in her sympathy for Sharon, and support of Nick. But who can blame the viewers (and Sharon) for being slightly skeptical? This is the same woman who took scissors to Sharon's panties - and begged her husband not to leave her! Yet now the Newman's are 'solid'? Yeah - about as solid as Jello .... Phyllis fixed Nick 'a plate'? A plate of what? Nick can't fix his own 'plate'? And why isn't he going to the movies with the child and wife he claims he's 'so glad' to have home? No wonder Summer's not parroting 'I love you' to Daddy on command. Daddy's barely around. And with a magazine to run - one she's been absent from for a coupla weeks, you'd think Phyllis might have some catching up to do (it's not like she has an Editor in Chief taking over in her absence) ... Oh look - it's Fen (who's grown rapidly under the care of his babysitter)... Why on earth would Lauren, the nanny and Fen sit in the car while Mike goes into CL's to order a round of hot chocolates? Wouldn't Fen like to see his Uncle and Grandma? ... Yeah, how 'adorable' - that Chance would go to all that trouble of ringing the doorbell (of the home he lives in) - just to make Chloe feel like a 'proper lady'. Too bad for Ester, the maid back in uniform who must interrupt her dusting to answer the door. And Chloe wasn't much of a lady - panting on the sofa with Chance onboard (where's Nina when you need her?) ... Chloe whines about never having seen so much plaid - clearly forgetting she was wearing plaid just yesterday ... Come on Mike - really - there could be a contract out on the lives of the Fab Four? Wouldn't they be dead by now if so? They're not exactly hiding - in fact every scheme they've concocted, has been hatched in the middle of the town's busiest coffee shop ...Those are real diamonds! Amber squawks at Daniel. But how can she be so sure? There's plenty to good fake cubic zirconias on TSC ... The Terroni's not gonna be worth the canvas it's painted on with all the handling this fragile masterpiece is receiving. And what a great hiding spot Kevin! And how clever of you to hide the painting in a room with huge glass doors ... Why would a woman of Sharon's wealth carry her most prized possessions around in a cardboard box? Because she's no longer going to be living with Nick, Sharon doesn't need a home now? She's fine living in one room? Doesn't feel the need to provide Noah a home? He should be with his mother - not the grandfather who's recovering from a heart transplant.
