The Abbott siblings clean up and with Billy sent home with Mac, the trio discuss what a great job he did organizing Colleen's service. Anxious to get home to her baby, Ashley gets a call from the hospital - great news - she can pick Faith up and take her home.
What are you doing here? Sharon protests mildly. His baby too, Nick wonders why she'd 'do this' without him.
As the doctor stands by, Patty's thrilled to get a visit from Paul. Can I come home? she whines - I'll be a good girl. Paul gently explains that she can't - it was Colleen's service today. Who's Colleen? Traci's daughter. Oh my God! Traci had a baby? I'm an Aunt! Oh well - she and Jack haven't been married long - it'll happen to them too one day. Outside the room, Paul's near tears as the doctor reports that Patty's had a complete psychotic break - and gives no hope that she'll ever 'come back'. Deeply saddened, Paul peers through the window at his sister.
At the ranch, Vikki catches Adam on the phone - negotiating a business deal. What the hell is he doing? Covering the receiver, Adam explains he's saving an NE deal. Hang up, Vikki orders.
Allowed back into Victor's room, Nikki's relieved when Victor weakly assures he's fine. The doctor has good news - the seizure should be a one time incident. After the doctor leaves, Victor declines water - but WOULD like to see his baby.
Yes - there IS one thing Ashley needs - a Godmother for her baby. Traci doesn't need time to think about it ~hug~. And as she goes up to go through Colleen's things, Ashley declines Jack coming with her - Traci needs him. Where do things stand between her and the Mustache? Jack thought he detected an 'all is forgiven' look - and is relieved to hear that's not the case (though Ashley doesn't see it as cause to celebrate). Jack hopes she'll bring Faith home (to the Abbott home).
Back at the cabin, Nick talks about how much the baby meant to him - how could she deprive him on the only tangible evidence she existed? He's sorry he wasn't there when Sharon and Faith needed him. Sharon's not trying to punish him - she's trying to spare him (but now realizes she was wrong). Yes - those are Faith's ashes.
Nikki holds Faith beside Victor to gush over - she's so much like Nicholas. Ashley marches in to snatch her baby. How can Victor wonder why she's so upset? After what Ashley's been through? Imagine her horror to find her baby gone from the nursery. Nikki leaves - hoping Ashley will remember where she is - and that 'that child' is Victor's daughter too. This is between Victor and me, Ashley snarls as Nikki exits. Yes - Ashley's upset - extremely upset.
With Mike summoned over to referee, Adam gives his side of the story. He could let the deal fall apart or save it. So, he picked up when the Mr Kagawa started leaving a message. It seems that Vikki and Nick DIDN'T have everything covered. Something slipped through the cracks, Adam argues that he saved NE millions. You do NOT work at Newman OR represent the company, Vikki reminds - and wants to put a stop to any unauthorized deals Adam may have initiated. Damn it Victoria! Adam punches the wall - I wasn't up to anything. Let's make sure this is the last time, Vikki growls.
Back at the Carlton manor, Traci's on the phone thanking Lauren for her generous contribution (which will apparently go to an art scholarship in her name). She hangs up to thank Paul for coming. He wanted to attend the service - should have - but still feels guilty for not stopping Patty when he had the chance. I'm so sorry, he cries ~hug~ She never meant to hurt anyone. The last 25 years are a complete blank - she may never recover. But Jack's sure it's an act - Patty's building an insanity defense.
As Sharon stands to look out the patio doors, she speaks aloud to Cassie - look after your little sister for us. One day they'll all be together as a family again. Nick joins Sharon, ashes in hand (and the pair head out).
Adam feels that Vikki's reaction proves that Vikki's out of touch. Just look at the papers - full of speculation and rumours (on Victor's condition). Mike hands Vikki the faxed over new contract (with Adam's changes). Adam all but rolls his eyes as Vikki flips through it.
Now at Memorial, Paul's updated on Victor's condition - and that Ashley's in with Victor. He then asks Nikki if she wants to get out of there - a break would do her good.
Victor doesn't understand why Ashley would be worried - he loves his children. Ashley apologizes for overreacting. He HAS been good to MOST of his children. No - she hasn't forgotten that Adam tried to frame him for murder - but he paid his dues (and if it weren't for Adam, her loyal friend, they wouldn't have Faith). His letter spoke of second chances - why not give Adam one too? Ignoring the question, Victor asks about Traci (which only leads to Ashley sneering about Victor helping damsels in distress). She now realizes the man she's loved most her adult life is no hero after all - it was just a lie - an illusion. I love you - always have, Victor claims. But Ashley knows there's one person he loves more than her - not Nikki - himself. It's always been about himself. The marriage over, Ashley's filing for divorce.
Taking Nikki to CL's, Paul orders her to eat the sandwich he brings over - she MUST take care of herself. Thanks for looking out for me, Nikki smiles (as she eats). You're practically living at Victor's bedside, he scolds. Nikki knows the kids will need a lot of help (while Victor recovers) - and she appreciates Paul coming to find her. But what happened to those letters, she still wonders.
The deal looks OK, Vikki admits - but it doesn't change how she feels about Adam (who doesn't blame the Newman's for not trusting). Vikki finds it hard to believe he just happened to hear that message - he conned Mr Kagawa - just like he did everyone else. Adam reminds he's not some yahoo - he graduated Harvard second in his class (and was a Wall Street whiz). Nick has a BA from the local university - while Vikki hasn't attended a single class. Having more experience and education then both of them combined - the least Vikki could do is muster up a thank you.
Victor wouldn't have chosen to part ways without trying to work things out. But Ashley sees no hope. No, Victor won't fight the divorce - as long as he remains a part of their daughter's lives. Ashley would never deprive them of their father. Part of her will always love Victor - Abby and Faith are a bond they'll always share. Both in tears, Ashley takes Victor's hand - good bye. My beautiful Ashley, good bye, Victor mutters as he lays alone.
Her lunch eaten, Nikki's 'quite content' - but how's Paul doing? It hasn't been the best of days, Paul relays his 'frightening' visit with Patty (who's reverted to a time she could handle things). He mopes about letting her escape (and now Colleen's dead). It's not your fault, Nikki reassures - nobody's to blame (his sister has a mental illness).
Patty's delighted to see Jack in her cell ~hug~ I knew you'd come. I've missed you so much. Of course she remembers him - how could he say such a ridiculous thing?
Returning to the cabin, Sharon loves the spot Nick chose - by the stream - the water was so clear. Nick found it peaceful - like the place Faith is now. We did it right this time. Now, Sharon can move on. Walking inside, they both pause to look at the floor where they conceived the baby. And as Sharon heads out, Nick hesitates - then follows.
As Mike packs up his briefcase, Vikki wonders if she's supposed to thank Adam for repairing all the damage he did to NE. He should have called her or Nick - not try to save the deal himself. Mike sees both sides - Adam's actions backfired with his sister. But, on the other hand, the contract is viable - she can jump in and continue to deal with Tokyo. And when Vikki thinks Adam (who's now free) should leave - before she finds a way to throw him out). That's Victor's call, Mike reminds. Curses - foiled again, Adam sarcastically snaps his fingers. Warning that she'll be watching him, Vikki marches out. Minutes later, Adam's alone - when Ashley arrives. Hey Adam. I brought your sister home.
Back at the hospital, Nikki thanks Paul for the change of scenery. Paul warns Nikki to watch her heart - her friend in there has a history of breaking it. As Nikki heads in the door a nurse is exiting, Victor calls out to summon Paul - to thank him for finding Nikki. Paul did it for Nikki. Victor understands. Paul then goes on about the facility Patty's in - for the criminally insane - it doesn't cater to it's patients quite like Memorial. How's she doing? She's completely lost her mind - and likely won't recover. The silver lining? She's forgotten YOU ever existed. And with that, Paul marches out.
Jack wants to hear Patty's sad tale of woe - why she doesn't deserve to be in a place like this. Patty didn't think their honeymoon would be like this - it's a bit drab - no windows. She'd like to be in the sun - wearing that teeny tiny bikini he likes so much. Wait - this must be one of Jack's silly jokes - you're teasing me. Jack looks through narrowed eyes - in disbelief.
Now at the club's bar, the depressed Jack orders a double Scotch - then spots Sharon (texting as she comes through the door). As he ignores her, Sharon sees Jack - but ignoring him also, heads upstairs.
At the tack house, Nick and Vikki commiserate over the baby's they've collectively lost. Faith and the baby eight years ago - and Vikki's daughter, Eve. Vikki then gets to the point of her visit - to tattle on Adam finalizing a deal for BoN with a Tokyo department store. Mike said the contract is useable - but that's not the point. Adam's trying to weasel his way back into the family.
Ashley comes down after putting Faith down for a nap. She's staying at the ranch to keep things stable for her girls - and she IS Victor's wife - for a little while longer (then informs she's filing for divorce). Actually, she's gonna claim the ranch as her (and the girls) home. He can stay too - as her friend and the baby's Godfather. Adam doesn't know what to say - some people think he's overstayed his welcome. Hang in there - Ashley put a good word in for him with Victor. Things might turn around.
Back in Victor's room, Nikki hopes Paul didn't upset Victor. He's worried about his sister, Victor understands. And Ashley promised she'd let him remain part of his daughter's lives - but the marriage is over. He and Ashley are getting a divorce.
Next: Victor.. Patty - just let it all go, Sharon encourages Jack ... Nick doesn't want to shut Phyllis out - if she wants to hear about scattering the ashes, he'll tell her ... Chance and Chloe face off against Mac and Billy (when both couples wind up at the cabin). That stalker is bizarre for sure, Billy points his finger at Chloe. You need to back off, she snaps and points a finger back - and you and I are not divorced my friend.
My Thoughts: My apologies. I have an appointment to get to - so don't have the time right now. The good news? I'm uploading early today. Have a great weekend everyone!
