Happy to be out of 'quarantine', Lily asks Cane to take her to the cemetery - to see Colleen. Meanwhile, at Indigo, Roxanne has a card to be delivered to Lily. Hoping to find Neil, she's unimpressed to find Devon (who whines about her not returning his calls of text messages). Didn't you get my message? Roxanne asks. What message? Exactly.

Phyllis visits Victor (with Nikki) - carrying a bag of food. She's surprised to hear Victor gave Adam a job (unsure the boys will play nice in the sandbox). Regardless, Victor's determined to give Adam a second chance.

In the hallway, Adam wonders what Nick plans to give him - beside the shaft - mailroom? Janitor? JR Vice President - reporting to ME, Nick answers. Now off the phone, Vikki reports that Victor's rumoured to be dead (according to the press) - time for a press conference (and to spin it properly). After Vikki heads off to a meeting, Nick answers Adam's question - a JR Vice President does whatever HE says.

Double crossing me - you have NO idea who you're dealing with! Gloria rants (as she and Jeff turn Deacon's suite upside down - looking for the Terroni). Cackling, Jeff's gotta admire the switcharoo - and what's this? Cubic Zarconia, Glo sniffs - don't you know the difference. Oh look - 'officers' (let in by the housekeeping manager). We can explain, Jeff smiles.

At Indigo, Amber's not thrilled about being kept by Deacon's side (and so, flashes back to her last conversation with Daniel). Deacon stops his 'lucky charm' from leaving - she's way too much woman for that Mama's boy - and deserves pretty things - to be taken places. Plus, he can throw Daniel back in jail. The buyers come over - who's SHE? With Deacon - and that's all they need to know.

Back at CL's, Daniel's sure that Amber's run off with Deacon - the plan no longer matters. Mike won't be thrown a 'curve ball' - it's a grand slam. Enter a guy flashing a badge (as summoned by Kevin). Daniel smiles smugly as Vikki brings another man over - that's him - the man with the Terroni.

Introducing herself (and then MR Hoffmeyer from the Sheffer Museum) Vikki's glad the detective's there to witness this - Daniel's the man with the stolen painting. Huh? Mike and the Fishers quickly blame Deacon. About time you got here, Daniel and Vikki share a smile. Sorry about the slap - but it had to be convincing. Reaching under the jukebox, Daniel then lets everyone in on what's going on - ladies and gentlemen - the REAL Terroni.

Deacon and Amber are in a car with his art expert (who claims their Terroni's a fake). Can't be - Deacon had it authenticated. Oh - it's a forgery alright - what is Deacon trying to pull?

Seated with Devon, the man who betrayed her (with Tyra), Roxanne has no interest in anything he has to say. You have every right to hate me, Devon grovels - but he misses his best friend. You don't miss me too?

What!? Adam's talents will be wasted as an overpaid clerk - but he won't 'walk'. Instead, he's instructed to take notes today - at the Savaneur stockholders meeting. Reminded that Adam can barely see, Nick's sure the resourceful guy can figure it out. Phyllis pokes her head out to tell Nick that Victor's out of bed. It's amazing! Nick and Adam watch as Victor slowly ambles across the room (assisted by Nikki). Phyllis has to go - something's up with Daniel ~kiss~ You're doing great Dad, Nick coaches (as Adam chimes in agreement). But as Victor's lowered back into bed, an alarm goes off - monitor's beep and a doctor flies in (asking them to leave). Oh my God, Nikki sniffles. He's losing consciousness, the doctor comments. Oh great - follow along guys - it's yet another dream.

Mr Hoffmeyer authenticates the Terroni - see this identification mark on the back? Only he and the museum's curator are privy to that. The Terroni Gloria gave Deacon? A fake. Working with Vikki for weeks, Daniel explains that he painted another forgery (which he substituted for the real one right after they got it from Detroit). We even staged an argument, Daniel and Vikki snicker. When Mike hints that his client should be thanked, the Detective is sure the Department of Justice will want a statement (and gets on the phone). The one flaw in the plan? Not being able to see the look on Deacon's face when he learns his Terroni's a fake.

Sure enough, Deacon's puzzled - and more than disappointed to learn his painting's a fake. The buyer is angry - this canvas weave has only been used for the last 50 years - Terroni died in 1918. Quick to point out that she's not involved, Amber's cleared by Deacon - she's just along for the ride. After the potential buyer splits, disappointed, Deacon wonders how Daniel pulled it off. Good for him, Amber's delighted - he'll do the right thing - and so will she (including doing whatever it takes to prove Daniel's innocence if necessary). Deacon seems to accept defeat graciously - just go back to Daniel - see you around. Why are you giving up so easily? Amber's left to look puzzled - and mildly rejected.

Lighting a candle in church, Lily tells Colleen all about the wonderful place she's buried - right beside her Dad. She thought you and I were meant for each other, Lily now turns to Cane - even if she survives cancer, Lily can't make any promises regarding a future with Cane. He doesn't need promises - just for the woman he loves to open up her heart to him again.

In tears, Roxanne explains how much the years with Devon meant to her. Devon understands that she no longer wants to be his friend - but what about his family? Anna didn't even get to say good bye. Roxanne gets an update on Anna and Lily (whom she'd really like to see). No problem - Devon will take her over.

Brought over to CL's by the police, Glo asks Mike to please tell them that she had nothing to do with that stolen painting. Mike reminds that he won't be bailing her out anymore. Phyllis arrives in time to see her son, the hero, collect his reward check. $25K!? In what may be his dumbest move to date, Daniel hands the check over to Kevin (to bail out his jailbird long lost brother). Dude - I can't accept this, Kevin says (but wastes no time pocketing the check). Still in handcuffs, Gloria picks her jaw up off the floor. And when Daniel and Jana explain that the Bardwell's were in on the plan the entire time, they're uncuffed. As Mike takes Phyllis out to the patio to fill her in, Vikki says a few parting words to her partner in crime. Daniel's then scolded by his proud mother ~hug~ But why isn't he happy? Amber?

Following Deacon into Indigo's bar, Amber asks what the catch is - what will he do when she goes back to Daniel? Woe is Deacon - there was always more going on that the painting - or Amber. Someone he's been working for is holding the sword of damocles above his head. Now - he'll pay the price. Go be with the one you love, Deacon says - before she gets caught in the fallout. Thank you, Amber slowly exits. Now alone, Deacon pulls out a photo of a boy of about 5. Things will always bind us Amber, he murmurs - this isn't over.

Victor's eyes open to Nikki - you gave us quite a scare. Vikki races in for an update. Seems Victor's kidney's couldn't handle the medications - so, the transplant cocktail has been adjusted. Though renal failure is a threat (which would mean dialysis), no one wants to consider another transplant. Off to a meeting, Vikki had a feeling she should stop by. Taking her hand, Victor assures he has a lot of life left in him. I love you. Suggesting they watch some TV, Nikki won't hear of Victor 'conducting business' from his hospital bed. The kids are consulting Victor on everything (and will be banned from his room if they talk business). Victor smiles - and has something to say. Later - Nikki's not going anywhere.

As Nick wraps up the shareholders meeting (with Adam recording it), Vikki addresses Victor's health. No - he's not dying (and remains the CEO of NE and Savaneur). There's nothing to worry about. As the shareholders file out, Vikki and Nick discuss the update on Victor - and heading back to the hospital (while Adam types out notes), will update them if there`s any change.

Back at Daniel's, Phyllis is sorry that Amber picked Deacon over him (even is she never liked her). Daniel loved her - past tense - but kinda always like the way she looked in this thing, he picks up some black garment and tosses it in a box. How could she pick Deacon? he whines. And as Phyllis his mid way through her pep talk, Amber walks in - and is met by two stony faces.

Giving Daniel a kiss, Phyllis glares at Amber on her way out. Now alone, Amber relays the look on Deacon's face (upon realizing he'd been scammed). She never cared about him - or the money - it's always been Daniel. Too bad he doesn't believe her - she's back because her boyfriend's big score fell through. No - we're free - Deacon's gone - and Amber vows never to leave Daniel's side again. Unless he wants her to?

Still at Indigo, Devon encourages Roxanne to at least be civil. Sure - she can do that. Back at the church, Cane remembers their wedding there - how Lily trusted and believed in him. Cane's one big regret? Deceiving Lily (whom he did - and does love). Knowing that if she hadn't gotten sick, Cane wouldn't be there, Lily wonders if this is 'the good' in something so awful. Cancer has helped them understand what matters most.

Well, look at that - the plan worked and no one went to jail. But what about Ryder? Kevin whines at Mike. He has nobody. With or without his help, Kevin WILL help his brother.

At Indigo to order some take out, Phyllis is hit on - hard, by Deacon. And when he introduces himself by name, she delivers a stinging slap. I'm Daniel Romalotti's mother - yeah, small town. Keep away from my son - or deal with me - and I'm not that easy, she assures. Having lost her appetite, Phyllis exits quickly. Nice meeting you, Deacon calls out. Seated and enjoying his drink, Jeffrey watches with interest. Deacon makes a call - we need to move to another place that's safe. Protect my son, he orders (then mopes over the wallet photo some more).

Amber continues to work on Daniel - everything she did was for him. I love you. You move me too. Told he's a hero for returning the painting, Daniel didn't care about any of it (after thinking Amber was gone for good). I've never stopped loving you, he grunts - as lips locked, he carries Amber over to the bed.

The Ashby's wander around the church - remember the poem Kay read at their wedding? Cane sure can. Both remember their vows too (and take turns reciting those as well) ~kiss~

Back at NE, Adam's back in the conference room. Opening a briefcase someone left behind, Adam grabs the cell and makes a call to the enforcement division of the securities exchange commission - I'd like to report an infraction. The chief executives of Savaneur lied to their executives today about the health of the CEO. Yes - I'll hold.

Back with Victor, Nick and Vikki update that the meeting went well - they handled questions about his health - and Adam. Shooing the kids away, Nikki stays by Victor's side - and as he sleeps, tries to convince herself that he'll recover (You HAVE to. I don't know what I'd do if I lost you).

Next: Are you up to this? Jack asks (as he puts the diaper bag over Ashley's shoulder). Faith in her arms, Ashley claims she's not afraid of Victor ... JT pays a visit to Vikki - I know this is kinda our of the blue, but ... Are you leaving me? Vikki sounds panicked ... You don't know the things that I've done, Adam tells Sharon (as he visits her new home). I know a lot more than you think, Sharon replies ominously.

My Thoughts: Why does Nick tell the shareholders about the packets that will be mailed out today? Why not just hand them over to the shareholders right now? .... Nick will know if Vikki's speech worked - 'when the market opens'? He really thinks her tiny speech will make that much of an impact? What do they think will happen to NE when Victor retires or dies? .... If Lily's cancer is a gift, one has to wonder what's on her Christmas list - heart attack? Alzheimer's? MS? How sweet that the Ashby's remember their vows - no doubt they'll write new ones - even sappier ones, when they renew their vows for real ... Ye s- of course Daniel never stopped loving Amber - and to prove it, he's gonna have sex with her ... Out of 'quarantine' Lily wants to go see Colleen? Doesn't she mean go see Colleen's grave? And why is Lily telling Colleen all about her final resting place? Colleen knows what it looks like - she just buried her father there ... All those 'years' meant something to Roxanne? Then why does she feel uncomfortable going to see Lily? Devon's the one who should feel uncomfortable - for having sex with his pseudo auntie. Imagine the confusion for poor Anna if they had a child? ... At least Devon has absolutely NO answer for Roxanne's question (why she should have anything to do with him) - instead, he starts whining about Lily. Guess he sees nothing wrong in using his sister's cancer to worm his way back into Roxanne's ... um ... good graces ... Phyllis brings Victor a huge bag of take out from the club - and explains that it contains salads. SALADS? Must be one of Seinfeld's 'big salads' ... JR Vice President? The duties that entails IS a good question - looks like the job description includes holding out a recording device. But couldn't it just be placed on the table? Kinda ironic - cause Adam's been recording folks for months. Now he's just doing it openly. Hey - on April Fool's Day, his coworkers can play a little prank on him - put some talk radio on and all get up and leave him to record it ... The CEO gets shot - has a heart attack - a heart transplant - and then seizures - and Vikki claims he was out of commission for 2 or 3 days? That's one helluva speedy recovery. ... Adam only has ONE question regarding his new job? What about asking how much the job pays? Mind you - unless the check's in Braille, they can tell him it's whatever - and pay him whatever ... How on earth did the Bardwell's manage to break into Deacon's room? Wasn't security increased after Sharon's room was broken into - twice? And once gaining access, why didn't one of the Bardwell's think to act as a lookout ... Deacon considers Amber his lucky charm? Maybe he should start looking for a four leaf clover - or a rabbit's foot or sumthin' ... Ah - so THAT'S why Vikki's slap was so lame - it was fake. Now Phyllis - SHE knows how to deliver a slap ... Amazing that a 50 million dollar painting can be authenticated in a car parked in a dark alley - lit only by neon signs ... The canvas weaves have only been used for the past 50 years? How many ways are there to weave a canvas? ... OK - so the officer's have the Bardwell's cuffed and in a cruiser on it's way to the local jailhouse - but then stopping at CL's, take the time to haul both Gloria and Jeff out of the car and into the coffee shop? Instead of telling em to wait in the car? And so what if they're off the hook for involvement with the painting - they STILL broke into someone's hotel suite .... Where are Jeff and Gloria finding the money to buy all these drinks lately? Glo's wine at the club yesterday - Jeff drinking at Indigo today. They haven't gotten their hands on ANY cash yet (and Gloria doesn't even have her salon job anymore). And how is it that Phyllis hasn't caught on that the Bardwell's aren't paying her any rent? Surely, it's been more than a month ... Odd that a 50 million dollar painting - that's been missing for years - and is now recovered - wouldn't make it on the evening news ... 'Is this another trick'? Amber manages to ask without laughing (as she's in a car parked in an alley - talking to a man who's basically trying to buy her). 'Trick' certainly is an appropriate word ...Deacon sure is theatrical - someone's holding the 'sword of demaclese' above his head? Who talks like that? (other than Alister rehearsing for some role) What the hell is that? And are we lead to believe Amber knows what he's talking about? Why couldn't Deacon just say that his boss is a real ball buster? ... Renal failure? Problem with Victor's kidney's? Big deal - he'll just get another private donation is all. If the transplant list goes in alphabetical order, clearly the N in Newman comes before the A in And you'll just have to wait... Nikki doesn't know what she'd do without Victor? Is she forgetting that she's been Victor-free for years?
