Handing out Halloween candy, Sharon pauses to flashback to being with her family on the private jet (which Victor had transformed into a haunted house).
At the ranch, Victor tells Ashley about the rehab clinic he's off to. Nick and Vikki may have understood, but Ash doesn't expect Abby to (as she's barely speaking to HER after hearing of the divorce). You're leaving? Abby joins them to ask.
Still at NE, (with Victor apparently already having come and gone) Vikki thinks her parent's trip romantic and spontaneous. She's happy - and jealous. With a sigh, she admits cheating on JT. No, she's not in love with this person - it was a horrible mistake. Yes - JT knows. He punched Deacon in front of the press. And now the whole world could find out I broke my vows, she cries.
At home, Phyllis is online - reading Deacon/Newman article (with accompanying photo). Uh oh. When Nick comes down (from dressing Summer for Halloween), Phyllis shows him the article. Billy Abbott, you son of a ...., he seethes.
With Jimmy's all ready for his 2nd Annual Halloween Bash, Billy gets a call - then announces that this issue of RS is the best seller yet. Forcing a smile, Mac congratulates him. Jack arrives - and he's dressed as an angry businessman (one who's little brother has spit in his face one too many times). Come on Jack, Billy reminds that HE never listened to HIS partners - and he's just sold more copies than any of them EVER did. Jack reminds that he's the guy who covered Billy's ass - and his gambling debts - the guy who forgave him for sleeping with his wife. Billy doesn't give a damn why Jack's gone soft on Victor - but HE won't forget about Colleen. Yeah, well Jack's THROUGH with Billy - hoping his record sales are worth it. And when calling out to Jack does no good, Billy shrugs at Mac (who's behind the bar wearing an 'I told you so face').
I'm not abandoning you, Victor assures Abby - he's be back better than ever - to see her graduate - marry - hold her first baby. Yeah, but he has a baby NOW. Victor loves them both very much - and so does Mom. Teach Faith love and respect for family. He'll back before she knows it. With a hug, Abby's off to meet her friends at CL's. Ashley's left to thank Victor for trying, express her disgust in Billy's article - and admit that she too bears responsibility for their marriage falling apart.
Back at the tack house, Nick now realizes Vikki had an affair - and that Billy's come after his family again. He's even sleazier than Jack, Phyllis quips - and he'll get huge traffic to the RS website. Without office space, Nick's sure it's all about to fold on Billy. Phyllis wants to hurt him. What is she thinking? Some really evil things. And as Nick answers the door, she goes to work - 'I just need a phone number'). Adam comes for some signatures - for the Carnelli deal. Nick's annoyed - why can't he just follow orders? You don't take calls for me - make deals - or draw up contracts! You'll never have what's mine.
Vikki explains her cheating ways - she was upset at JT - and jealous of Colleen. Deacon was a stranger. No, the Hellstrum's haven't 'talked about it' (cause that would make it 'real'). Nikki stresses the need for communication. I hurt him so badly, Vikki weeps over the pain in JT's eyes. Nikki's sure they love one another - and must face this head on. People make mistakes - just look at your father and me. Fight for your marriage - it's worth it, she concludes with a hug (as JT arrives).
Billy's now dressed as a football player - and doesn't want to talk about Jack. He's got a hot magazine - and a hot genie girlfriend ~kiss~ Oh look - the football player's trying to score a touchdown, Chloe arrives to quip. Billy just wanted Delia there to show her off for a bit. And as they struggle to put the football costume on Delia, Chloe boasts that they sold out at the Hopkins St newsstand. As Mac takes a picture, Chloe grins - a genie - I was that in middle school - cute. When Kevin arrives (sans costume) Billy assumes he left his mascot head at the dry cleaners. Aside, Kevin's there to say he and Jana won't be coming to any party thrown by Mac's boyfriend - no offence. But they'd love to get together - anytime - without Billy of course. Mac asks Kev to go easy on Billy - he's had a rough time since the magazine came out (and she loves him).
Having a civil conversation with Victor, Ashley's able to mock herself - and her fantasy (only MY love could save you). But it did - our love did (save me), Victor's serious. Ashley's let the fantasy go - it's sad, but liberating. And now she only wants his health and happiness. Having been through 'a few' divorces - Victor wants this one to be 'as painless as possible'. Mike will handle the details - Nick and Vikki will run NE - Adam will get a chance to redeem himself. Ashley can't help but notice that near death has changed Victor. Yes, but her brothers continue their relentless attack on him - so he hasn't changed his feelings towards THEM. Jack arrives on cue - we need to talk. Why is Jack there? To visit his sister - at HER house. I'll be with Faith, Victor heads upstairs. Take your time? Jack sneers - what's with Ashley's 'good will'?
Phyllis is giving a 'statement' on the phone - she won't be part of tabloid mud slinging. If the public is stupid enough to believe it, she's glad she's out of the business. Yes - she DOES feel better - but tells Nick she'd rather kick Billy in the head. Unable to reach Vikki, Nick's not sure she knows this 'punk's' attacked her. Who knows how it'll effect her - or NE. One thing's for sure - Adam will try make it work for him. But now on to important things - their daughter needs some sugar. Forget all this - there's nothing Adam can do to hurt Nick.
Sharon refills her candy bowls - then is startled to open the door to find a very tall trick of treater - Adam. Invited in, Adam accepts a glass of wine - then talks about Halloween in Kansas (and how his Mom would make eyeballs out of peeled grapes - blindfolded, he'd stick his hand in). What kid wouldn't wanna stick his hand in a bowl of eyeballs? Let's find out, Sharon grins.
With Ester on her way to get Delia, Billy gripes about losing a party guest. It'll pick up, Chloe assures - you're the hottest guy in town these days. No - she doesn't think the Victor article was a mistake - it was genius. You're the only one, Billy sing songs to the foot ball in his arms. At the bar, Kevin scolds Mac - knowing she's ignoring his brilliant advice (to dump Billy). Yes, Billy makes her nuts - but he tries - but he promised he'd do something 'really good' with the next issue.
After Nikki says her good bye's and exits, JT asks if they can talk now - or will Vikki use her Mom as a reason to put it off? No - Vikki's ready to talk about 'us' and Deacon (who was just defending her to the board). JT doesn't think it that simple - he wants you. Why'd she 'do it' anyway? JT kissing Colleen was enough to send Vikki to another guy's bed? Vikki's gums flap - she doesn't know - but loves JT (and wants to work things out). Won't JT at least try? Deacon barges in - sorry, but this can't wait.
Still at the ranch, Jack grumbles about Ashley and Victor parting on such good terms. Ashley won't pretend she never loved the man - but rest assured, it's over. He's back with Nikki - can you believe that? With an infant and a teenager to worry about, Ashley isn't concerned with love and romance - or Jabot. When Victor brings down Abby's cell phone, Ashley rushes out to give it to her - leaving Jack and Victor to exchange witty insults.
Nikki and Ashley's conversation starts out with pleasant greetings - with Ashley assuring that it's OK for Nikki to be happy about getting back together with Victor. Nikki had no expectations when she came back - and will always be grateful that Ashley brought Victor back to GC. I brought him back to YOU, Ashley states - and that's exactly what you wanted. Nikki denies she had an agenda. It doesn't matter to Ashley - she has no regrets - Abby has her Dad and she has a beautiful baby girl. The only thing she doesn't understand is why Nikki would want Victor back (after what he did to Colleen, Summer, everyone else). She'll never understand that. Excusing herself to find Abby, Ashley leaves Nikki to think - hard.
Adam and Sharon take turns putting their hands in the bowl of 'zombie brains'. So gross - the kids will love this! Asked about his sight (and when he might lose it), Adam confides awakening at night - thinking 'this is it - I'm blind' - but then turning on the light - and feeling like a big idiot. Wow - Sharon thinks that a hard way to live life - but is soon laughing again (at Adam's self deprecating humour).
Nick takes a picture of Summer (dressed as a fairy princess). He then takes a call - no comment! JT called, Phyllis updates - Reed won't be trick or treating (as he has the sniffles) - and JT's going to NE. Never mind the mess he'll have at NE tomorrow, Nick's putting everything aside for the night - and taking Summer trick or treating - let's roll.
As expected Jack and Victor's discussion goes south quickly - with talk of Victor getting back with his ex (while Ashley was having a baby) - and then the RS article (which Jack says is all true, so NOT defamation). Yes - the Cayman speculation WAS Jack's work. Glad you liked it. You're fearless now that I'm leaving town? Nope - Jack was never fearless. When he and Sonny boy set Victor up, he had Victor exactly where he wanted him. Nikki arrives - what's going on? Jack Abbott's confessing his sins. Confessing, hell - Jack will shout it from the rooftops - setting Victor up was one of the greatest joys of his life. And though Nikki tells Victor it's time to go, Victor won't leave until he and Jack 'finish this'.
Chloe's there to support Billy - not just because the Detective's on duty. Stop fishing, she points her laser gun - she WANTS to be there. It's early yet, Mac assures when Billy and Chloe meander over to the bar. No, Kevin grins - she's just saying that. No one wants to come to your party. Billy thinks that cute - Kevin can drink his booze - nibble on his food (like the little chipmunk he is) - and have the 'rocks' to talk to him and Mac. Kevin thinks he took a solid magazine and turned it into a trashy tabloid - deal with it! Billy hits a lower blow - Kevin and Newman are in the same club now - you both tried to kill Colleen. The ladies jump in between when Kevin lunges from his bar stool. Stop - take a breath, Mac calms Billy down - let it go.
Deacon tells the Hellstrum's that Billy Abbott was sniffing around earlier (as they're shown a photo of the fight on his laptop). I didn't sell her out, Deacon denies. After Vikki leaves crying, JT accuses Deacon of hoping Vikki will come running to him. Deacon isn't after JT's wife - and he sure as hell doesn't want the Newman's as an enemy. Too late for that, JT growls (as Deacon excuses himself and leaves).
The stand off at the ranch continues - as Jack boasts of channeling the sociopath who think he controls the world - whispering it all into JR's ear. Watching them both go off to jail over the journal delighted Jack. Getting Victor's son to betray him didn't take much convincing on Jack's part - and now JR's back under his wing - watch your back. Jack then turns on Nikki - who came 'this close' to getting it right with Paul (a man who'd always put her first). Jack's only regret? That he didn't do a better job on the diary. If Victor was still in jail, Colleen would still be alive. Victor tells Jack to listen carefully - as he's gonna explain how he plans to get even.
Still at CL's, Ashley's calling around looking for Abby. There she is - outside Jimmy's - all dressed up and with a fake ID. Another girl comes along - her ID's fake too. Her real name's Daisy. Let's go - it'll be crowded - we'll fit in. The girls hand over their ID and easily get past the guard posted outside.
Nick and Phyllis (with Summer) go knocking on Sharon's door. Adam, an unimpressed Nick spits out the word.
JT's still at NE, penning a Dear Vikki letter . He's accepted the job in NY - and leaving tonight. He loves her - but something's happened to 'us'. He'll kiss Reed goodnight, then catch his flight. He really thought they'd work it out.
I'm laughing with you - not AT you, Mac chuckles at Billy's lame dance moves. At a table with Daisy, Abby worries - it's not that crowded. But your Uncle's distracted, Daisy reassures. Suddenly, Vikki marches over and slaps Billy across the face - hard.
I'll be back, Victor warns - you and Billy can wonder how and when payback will come. You've already doled out your punishment - her name's Patty, Jack reminds. This is not over, Victor warns. Nikki interrupts - telling Jack that Victor took a bullet for him - and Victor that Jack was behind Traci's generosity. What's the matter with you two!? Stop it! Jack knows that what Nikki and Victor have won't die (but neither will what HE and Victor have). Victor warns Jack to just wait - he thinks Patty was bad? He'll find out - when Victor comes back to town.
Next: Hey - do I know you from somewhere? Abby puts her drink down to loudly ask Chance (who'll let her know once he checks her ID) ... Billy finds himself on the front door of the mausoleum. Without word, he takes Chloe in his arms and kisses her passionately ... With Adam beside him, Nick confirms his father's instructions - you're leaving me in charge of the entire company. You've got that right, Victor agrees.
My Thoughts: Oh yes Vikki - Nikki and Victor's relationship is indeed something to be 'jealous' of - what with the numerous divorces and marriages to others - you and JT have a long way to go if aspiring to have what Nikki and Victor do .... How cooperative of Summer to patiently wait upstairs for her Mom to do her make up (while her parents, in no rush, have better things to do - like discuss Billy and his smear campaign). I guess Summer's patience is the upside of her reaction to peanuts ... How is Abby supposed to teach her sister Faith what love and respect are all about? And just how long does Victor plan to be gone for? ... Nick should be grateful that Adam's willing to work beyond office hours to get contracts signed (cause Lord know, neither he or Vikki spend much time tending to business) ... Of course Vikki committing adultery is no big deal to Nikki (who's been on both ends of it during her various marriages) .... Why did Mac bother going to Kevin if she wasn't going to heed the advice she must have known he'd dish out? ... Why are there no trick or treaters ringing the Newman ranch's door bell? And if Sharon's gonna take so long handing out the candy, she better hope she doesn't get too many - or there'll be a line up (as she gushes over every kid's costume). What will she say to those kids who don't even bother to wear a costume? How did she find time to cook spaghetti? And peel grapes? And will she also hand out paper towels for the kids brave enough to stick a hand in her bowl of zombie guts and eyeballs? Was that kid at Sharon's door carrying a dog supposed to be Paris Hilton? The kids are gonna LOVE this, Sharon's impressed with her oh so gross zombie guts (but I'm guessing the kids will be wishing she'd just shut up and give em the damn candy already) ... No idea what Chloe's supposed to be - some kinda futuristic crime fighter? Without the gun, she just looks like a singer with Jefferson Starship or sumthin' ... Yes - Delia's costume woulda been cute - if Billy and Chloe could manage to get her into it (without the poor baby crying) ... Adam's mask appears to be that of a wolf - how fitting ... Why did Vikki run out crying? Leaving her husband and lover? If their public meeting ended in fisticuffs, how does she think it'll go with them alone in a room together? What happened to her 'stay and face the music' attitude? Speaking of which, why would Ashley leave Jack and Victor alone together? Yes - they're both adults. Adults who despise one another (and have had numerous physical altercations in the past) ... Billy's guest list may be jammed - but Jimmy's sure isn't. It's certainly not busy enough to warrant paying someone to guard the door ... Today's quips between Jack and Victor were the best ever. You weren't even gonna say good bye? Jack pouts. I've been waiting to say good bye to you for years, Victor fires back. Coming in a close second, the barbs Billy and Kevin exchanged were well written and delivered too ... Understatement of the day goes to Victor - telling Ashley 'as you know I've been through a few divorces' ... I think Adam will surprise you, Ashley says (totally oblivious that one day the surprise will be on HER) ... Of course Nick and Phyllis can joke about cavities (presumably 100% covered by NE's great dental coverage) ... Phyllis snaps on the phone that if RS is to be a trashy tabloid she won't be part of it. Um - hello - you sold it - so, you aren't part of it. But with her seeing the Deacon/Hellstrum article online, gotta wonder how it got there (as SHE was RS's webmaster) - and how Billy thinks he could publish the rag from his car ... So, Reid's too sick to go out trick or treating - but with both is parents hanging around the office (his Mom's cell phone turned off) - I guess he's not sick enough to warrant some attention from his parents. Nice to hear that JT will at least stop by to give the kid a kiss before leaving town. What a great Dad ... Too bad Victor had JT remove all those hidden mikes scattered around the ranch - he coulda had Jack's full confession recorded ... I guess Abby's newfound friend, Daisy, is the newest member of the cast - rumoured to be Kevin and Ryder's sister (and/or Summer's new babysitter). She seems to be the same rebel-girl character as Eden (remember her? Mike's sister? Noah's girlfriend?). With Abby so gosh darn popular (she's a model you know) why is she out alone on Halloween night? If Ashley, the great Mom, had bothered to find out what friends Abby was supposed to be with, she could have just called em on Abby's cell ... Actually JT it wasn't just you kissing Colleen that sent Vikki to another man's bed - it was the impression that it was gonna (or had already gone go) further than that.
