Lily awakens in Cane's arms - no need for breakfast or more sleep - her kiss implies she'd like some more of what she got last night; a good time.

At the mausoleum, Chloe has news for Chance (who claims he's been working a lot lately). She tells him about Billy's kiss - and that she blew him off. He knows she's serious - so, what does Chance think? That's good, is all he manages before going for breakfast. Not exactly the reaction Chloe was hoping for.

In Jabot's boardroom, Jill defends her press release (and sticking her finger in Jack's eye). Joining them, Neil's invited to take a seat - as is Jill (to hear about the changes Kay plans to make).

On the CL's patio, Paul and Nina chat about the article in RS (which exploits Patty). Nina thinks Patty's selective amnesia is self protection - she'll start remembering one day. She's a blushing newlywed, Paul updates - wanting Mary to make sauerkraut and ribs the next time she visits. The doctor Patty modeled herself after? They have a very strong bond.

In the club's dining room, Jack calls Dr Peterson over to briefly discuss the RS article she's already read (and disapproves of). Patty's once again 'collateral damage'. Jack wonders why a doctor who's built a career on the premise that people can change, refuses to believe HE can change. Dr P hasn't judged. Oh no? Feeling that he's already been tried and convicted, Jack would at least like to make a final statement before the sentence is handed down. Fine, Dr P reluctantly takes a seat.

Back in the boardroom, Kay's considering some acquisitions (of some asset rich companies that are floundering in the economy). She's considering an IPO - taking a significant percentage of CI public. Neil's intrigued with the idea of offering CI stock to the masses - and Jill's onboard too. Then let's make this happen, Kay concludes.

So happy with Roxy, Devon rewards her with extra whipped cream. reading the paper, Roxy announces a concert - tonight. Devon's game - with a three hour drive, he can get her back for classes the next day. Getting a weird vibe from Lily yesterday, Devon wants to check on her first. It was like she couldn't get us out of the house fast enough - something's up. Roxy gets it - who'd want visitors on their honeymoon?

Cane and Lily are still glowing in bed. I'm all yours, Lily smiles. And what would she like to do today? Go outside - enjoy the fall weather. She's feeling better than 'OK' (after months of being 'Lily; cancer patient'). But now, she feels good - like herself (and wants to hold onto that for as long as she can). 'I love you', they exchange with a smile.

Dr P still doesn't get why her opinion of Jack is so important. His visits to Patty may have eased his conscience - but they fed her delusions. Jack MUST do something. Dr P explains Patty has a team of competent doctors (while she has professional obligations to get back to). Refusing to stay, Dr P points out that Jack's neither her patient, nor her concern - his guilt is simply NOT a priority to her.

On the patio, Nina asks Paul about his relationship with Nikki - and hears she left town with Victor (as per her short and simple email). As Nina jokes about lifting Paul's spirits, Philip arrives. Casually suggesting a movie, Paul leaves with a friendly hug. We just hang out, Nina's left to explain to a curious Philip (who doesn't have much of a love life either - his priority is his son). Though Chance seems to be avoiding him, Philip won't give up - but won't push either. Wanting to show him some photos, Nina insists he come back to the mausoleum - assuring that Chance won't even be home.

Still home, Chloe confronts Chance - doesn't her 'huge' move (in rejecting Billy) deserve more than an 'attagirl' pat on the head? I'm proud of you, Chance concedes. He's not working - but can't hang out with Chloe (as he has somewhere he needs to be). See you later. Rejected, Chloe's left to shake her head.

Back in the boardroom, there's talk of the excitement of being on the ground floor (of going public) - and Kay wants both Neil and Jill to benefit from this. Jill's amazed - you'd do this for me? Neil also appreciates Kay's generosity (having worked for her for less than a year). You're both family, Kay barks - now get busy. After Neil leaves, Jill wonders why SHE was brought in on this - and is stunned that Kay feels the need to have HER forgiveness? Never mind all the things Jill did to Kay, she thinks of poor Lily and Colleen - and wants to 'set things right'. Kay may have a full house, but there's an empty space in her heart. There's people no longer around who never knew what they meant to her - like the daughter she has out there, somewhere. Kay's ready to make amends to Jill - if she'll only let her. With a containable smile, Jill takes Kay's hand.

When Paul arrives for his 'scheduled meeting' with Emily, Jack stands to offer his seat (thanking Paul for the illuminating talk). Paul sits to pressure Emily (the only doctor Patty trusts) to stay in GC. Despite Paul's pressure, Emily can't relocate (but won't let Patty fall through the cracks). I need to go home, she insists.

As Roxy goes to tell a GF about tonight's concert, Neil tells Devon that she seems happy. Yes - and Devon's doing everything he can to keep her that way. Neil asks about Lily (whom he's trying not to 'hover' over). Hearing that it appears Cane's taking good care of Lily, Neil can only hope it lasts.

At the book store, Lily assures this is indeed the place she wants to be. OK - go wander, a smiling Cane sends her off. Lily jokes that he'll be 'in romance' (which is wherever HE is). More talk like that and Cane'll be taking her back to bed ~kiss~

Coming in from a run, Chance continues to be distant with Chloe. She stalls his shower to ask why he's behaving like 'this' - didn't he say he'd be there when she realized she was over Billy? She had no urge to tell anyone else (not even her mother) about blowing Billy off - doesn't that mean something? She thought he'd care. My mistake - whatever - let's not make this weird, Chloe marches off.

Over latte's, Neil talks to Devon about his plans after graduation (which is to pursue a career in music). Neil encourages him to put the people together and finish writing his songs - HE'LL pay for studio time. Finally happy at CI, Neil's all about Devon following his dream. Knowing it's a tough business, Neil doesn't expect instant success - but believes in Devon.

Cane finds Lily reading a retro cookbook - and she found a car magazine for him. Yes - she sure DOES know what he likes ~kiss~

Emily assures Paul that his love CAN make all the difference to Patty. Off to his meeting, Paul wishes her a good trip - thanks for everything. Now alone, Emily's delighted to get a call from the esteemed Dr Lambert. Yes - she's available at this time.

Jill's never had a multi million dollar stock offering apology before. It's not all about you, Kay quips - it's a brilliant business move. She doesn't want to lose the company like Jack did - having someone gobble up too many shares. Yes - Kay will retain majority voting rights. Speak of the devil - here's Jack himself - and he's pulling the plug on one of Jill's dead end projects. He's thrown off when Jill doesn't appear to give a crap - and trusts his instincts. Am I being fired? he's suspicious of Jill's niceness. What ARE the two of them cooking up? Kay assures - it's not about you, or Jabot.

Outside the book store, Roxy's sorry they missed Lily. What's Devon's kiss for? He knows how lucky he is ~hug~ Meanwhile, Neil visits the Ashby's (and is pleased by Lily's upbeat mood). Noticing how lovey dovey they are, Neil's told their connection is even deeper now - and that they renewed their vows.

Chance didn't want to leave things the way they were - and tries to clarify the 'mixed signals' Chloe feels he's sending out. Their confusing conversation ends with Chloe babbling about being herself. As Chance shouts over her, Nina and Philip arrives. We should go, Philip tries to duck out. Yeah - run away - it's what you're good at you gutless coward - get outta here! Chance bellows (then continues to lash out). You wanna be a father NOW? I HAD a father, Ryan - HE didn't run - he stayed with me - til the day he died - THAT'S a father! Absorbing the blows, Philip thinks his son's honesty is a good start to rebuilding their relationship. Don't count on it, Chance snaps.

Cane doesn't blame Neil for not trusting him - and Lily doesn't expect her father's blessing - but doesn't want tension when they're together. She's happy and feeling better. Neil can see that - and is happy for Lily ~hug~ Over her shoulder, Neil smiles acceptingly into Cane's eyes.

Emily greets Dr Lambert at the club - it's an honour to finally meet him. She's followed his work for years. Equally complimentary, Dr Lambert would like the highly recommended Dr P to join his staff. But hearing it's funded by the Abbott foundation, Emily sighs.

Forget Jack's reason for coming - he now wants to know what Kay's up to with Jill. Discussing what's for dinner? Jack's not buying it - and 'petrified' by Jill's sudden cooperative nature. Kay explains that it's none of Jack's business. Is Neil in on this? Jack continues. Kay's had enough - go ahead and speculate - but she has things to do. I'll find out about this, Jack warns. Meanwhile, Jill thanks Paul for meeting her (at the club) - and without preamble (or even taking a seat) asks him to find Katherine's 'real' daughter.

Next: At CL's, Jack gapes as Emily makes her animosity clear - Throwing your money around - buying whatever you want. Not this time, Mr Abbott. I'm not for sale ... Chloe is in love with Billy, Nina stresses to Paul. He disagrees - I think she likes Chance ... As Lily's helped into a wheelchair in the background, Cane's on the phone to Neil - Lily's been admitted into the hospital. What happened? Neil spits out.

My Thoughts: Why would Kay and Jill be discussing what to have for dinner? It's not like either one of them will be donning over mitts, or even operating a can opener. They'll have whatever Ester's whippin' up ... Patty never lost sight of how much Paul loves her? That means little Dr P - cause she's also convinced Jack still loves her ... With this little invention called the Internet, does anyone actually BUY cook books anymore? And if it's the end of the semester, why is Roxy in need of books NOW? ... Lily's actually whining about people asking her how she's feeling? Wouldn't she be whining just as much if no one showed any concern? ... Roxy notices the extra whipped cream? And immediately assumes Devon's 'happy' with her? Maybe the barrista who made it was hitting on Devon ... Something's up, Devon says to Roxy with a straight face - Yeah, something's up at the Ashby's all right - Cane - and given that he hasn't been 'up' in months, it's gonna take some time to catch up ... Roxy;s such a big fan of college band 'Gym Class Heroes' that she's willing to drive 3 hours to see them - but she wasn't even aware until today that they were playing? Big fanm huh ... Nice that Devon's working oh so hard to keep Roxy 'happy' - I think she'd just be content with him keeping his pants on - no mounting his extended family members (which might be why the astute Roxy isn't impressed with Devon's meddling in his sister's bedroom) ... Mitchell's 'annoyed' that Kay didn't take CI public ages ago? Before she 'died' - as having liquid assets would have made her will so much easier? Huh? I don't think the will itself was the complication - it was the benefactors having to give it all back when it turned out that Kay wasn't dead after all. Why is Kay's company any of Mitchell's business anyway? Isn't he paid enough to simply do as he's told? It's not like he has any other clients to worry about. And how does Neil know about the 'liquidity' of Kay's will? If Kay needs to be so careful in taking CI public, why include only 2 executives? Why wasn't anyone from the legal or PR departments included in the meeting? ... If Patty's doctor's were all that 'competent', she wouldn't be convinced she's living with her husband, Jack - and going to Mary's for ribs and kraut ... Dr P's right - Jack's not her client - nor is he her friend - so, why does she waste time sitting down to even talk to him? ..... Nikki told Paul she was leaving town with Victor - in an email? How rude - he at least deserved to be told in person. But, I guess touring puppy mills and buying Victor cashemere socks didn't allow her the time ... Nina talks about 'selective amnesia' like she knows all about psychology - AND she can carry a conversation on North Korea and global warming - yet, she didn't know that Nikki had gone with Victor to Belgium? With the press all over the Newman's - it wasn't reported in the papers? ... Paul has some nerve - suggesting that Dr P 'relocate' permanently to GC - like he's even paying her or sumthin' ... Huh? Devon's back in school? Graduating THIS semester? I thought he left school ages ago - to pursue his music career? Neil made a huge deal out of it - and then Devon has a short but successful stint as a business prodigy ...... Tough time to raise capitol, Jill sputters - really? Not for Ashley - and I'm sure, not for Kay ... Nina and Ryan were barely together for 5 minutes before he went sniffing around Victoria Newman - and during that time, there was about as much mention of a Ryan/Chance relationship as a Paul/Ricky or Jack/Kyle relationship (plus Ryan died when Chance was barely out of onesies). However, according to Chance, Ryan was the bestest Daddy ever. The timing of his outburst is somewhat suspect - it's not Philip's fault that Chloe's hung up on her ex ... Give it up Jack - Kay has other business dealings beside your miniscule cosmetics company - why would she confide anything to you? Taking a company public is the last thing she'd bring YOU in on (as his botched go at it resulted in the Abbott's losing their family business). That said, if Kay has CI business to discuss with Neil and Jill - and it's 'none of Jack's business' - why is she meeting in Jabot's boardroom, instead of CI's? ... ... If you wanna tell me about your love life, that would be OK too, Nina brightly invites - like she'd just love to hear Philip's boy on boy tales (so to speak). There's nobody special right now, Chance informs - not surprising - since he implied he'd never taken a lover (of either sex) since he left GC. So, I guess by 'right now', he means 'ever' ... Oh how Lily loves the book store - a place to come 'relax' (except when your husband's having fist fights with his pseudo brother - or when rich unstable women come to steal).
