The devastated Cane's helped up and wordlessly consoled by a sympathetic Neil. Both then approach the doctor - who hopes to have an answer soon. Now at the window, the forlorn Cane looks like a kid with a nickel - at the window of the dime store candy shop. Inside, Lily's in bed, her eyes close.

In Jabot's boardroom, Kay asks Jill to give Lily and Cane her love - and Neil's not to worry about the IPO business - she and Mitchell will handle it. And with a quick hug, Jill marches past Jack - who insists on speaking with Kay. He already knows what she and Jill are up to - and wants in on it.

Working at CL's, Glo's scolded by Jeff (who whines about being evicted and isn't sure they'll be compensated for their Cayman loss). When he flashes some bills, Glo knows what he's up to - and warns he'll go to jail for it.

Arriving at CL's, Philip points out that Chance is indeed there. It's no set up, Nina swears - one father/son blow up today is enough. But she's all for Philip going to speak to Chance - go for it. At Chloe and Chance's table, Philip thankfully interrupts their confusing conversation.

In his office, Nick and Ashley finalize a trust that's been set up for Faith (who'll receive the same shares Abby did). No need for attorney's - they're on the same page. Next topic is the SEC's investigation of Victor's insider trading. Ashley was disgusted by Billy's article - and Nick plans to put him out of business. Nick was the one to suggest Victor withdraw his Cayman money - but there's no record of that conversation. When Nick admits he can't prove it wasn't insider trading, Ashley suggests a board meeting - surely Nick wants their input. Yeah, fine - but Nick's the boss, and don't you forget it.

Just another work day at Jimmy's - with Billy struggling with RS business. Mac updates him on Lily - it looks bad. Since he's too busy, Mac will head over to Memorial - but Billy better drop everything if she calls to say so. Billy then ignores his ringing cell to assure it'll be better once he gets an office. This is NO way to run a business, he mutters to himself.

At NE, Billy quickly realizes Ashley's still ticked off about the article. You had proof (of insider trading and Vikki's affair)? she snarls - how dare he show his face at NE. What's happening to Billy? When did he become so vindictive? I believed in you, she snaps (adding that he shouldn't expect her support ever again).

Still in his office, Nick's on the phone handling business - when Billy strolls in to put the keys on his desk - and take a seat. He's also there to save Nick some time and money. Billy's sure he'll win his lawsuit (for being wrongfully evicted). Nick claims that HE'S the one who negotiated in bad faith - witnesses heard him say he'd carry on RS in it's 'proud tradition' (then immediately turned it into a 'gossip rag'). While Billy wants to settle, the more confident Nick sneers that 'Abbott' didn't really think it through. Does he ever? Surprise - it's Vikki - to tie up some loose ends (not slap Billy's other cheek). She's equally smug - and credits Billy with her decision to move to NY. But he can wipe that smirk off his face - she's sure things won't go that well for the scandal monger (assuming it's causing problems with him and Mac - who's eyes must be wide open now).

Back at CL's, Jeff reveals his plan. They steal from the register - report the robbery - and Kevin's compensated by insurance. No, Glo refuses (though is tempted to hit him in the head with a crow bar - to make the robbery believable). Suddenly, the pillar of morality, Glo won't take one dime of her son's money.

Nina and Philip pressure Chance to discuss his feelings. But it's not the time or place, he insists. We'll talk later, Chloe's preparing to leave. But Chance can't later - he's going fishing with Murphy. Thanking Chloe, Philip takes her seat - and from across the table, stares at his unenthused son (as Nina hovers).

Outside Lily's door, Neil continues to comfort Cane. Lily needs you. Assuring she's not Patty Williams, Dr P (in a white coat) introduces herself - and talks about counseling services and the pitfall of being lulled into the false sense of security chemo brings (when treatment's going well). Jill arrives - where else would she be when her son needs her? ~hug~ All are then horrified when a nurse races into Lily's room (which is never a good sign).

Back in the boardroom, Jack knows what they're up to. Since Neil's approached several investment bankers, he concludes she's trying to raise money. Why didn't she come to HIM? YOU? Yes - Jack could take Jabot off her hands (for a reasonable price). Oh yes, Kay's sure he would - but Jabot's NOT for sale. Ah ha - Jack guesses she's taking CI public (and can easily confirm it). Angry at his badgering, Kay considers putting Jill in charge of EVERYTHING - then he can spend ALL his time chasing rumours. Murphy pops in to steal his wife. No problem - Jack has a few calls to make anyway. Kay's then delighted to hear Murphy's cancelled his trip. Why go fishing when you can be at the hospital holding your wife's hand?

Serving Philip and Chance drinks, Nina's leaving them to talk. Encouraged to sit in, Nina listens as Chance apologizes for saying things he shouldn't have. Philip quips that he knows a great screenwriter who can edit his dialogue. Taking a call from Murphy, Chance is told the fishing trips off (then updates his parents that Lily's in the hospital).

Cane, Lily weakly summons him to her bedside - I feel awful. She then reacts at the sight of Dr P at the door (who then introduces herself as a member of the outreach program). As Cane and Neil leave, Dr P sits to give Lily a mini therapy session. I'm not a woman anymore, Lily weeps (as Cane watches sadly through the window).

Mac arrives to hug Cane. Knowing all about the meds Lily's been given, Mac's seen it 'work wonders'. Sincerely touched that they came, a teary eyed Neil's told that he's 'family' (and is given a hug by Jill to prove it).

Having summoned Ashley to the club, Jack stuns her with his smug announcement that Kay's taking CI public. If they buy enough shares, the Abbott's can be a force to be reckoned with. Busy with her new baby, Ashley doesn't have time to be a 'force to be reckoned with' (on CI's board) - or his 'takeover' plans. Buy as many shares as you can - it's a good investment. Perhaps Ashley's forgotten what it's like to actually RUN the company their father founded - to live his dream? She's OK with Jill on the throne? But bottom line - Victor's to blame (and is Ashley really gonna let him get away with this?).

Nick announces that NE and it's subsidiaries are pulling their ads in RS - effective immediately. No surprise to Billy - it's a mistake. And after Billy saunters out, the Newman siblings chuckle about Billy. Vikki can't work for Dad and be married to JT - but she wants to be kept in the loop - especially with regards to the SEC matter. As per Mike's advice, Nick could drag it out in court for years - and spend millions on a PR campaign - OR, he could give immediate relief to those who need it (and salvage NE's reputation). What does Vikki think? She's not the CEO or anything - but thinks Daddy's portrait's frowning.

Lily shares her woes with Dr P - how she thought she was pregnant, only to learn she had cancer. She'll have a baby one day - her dead BFF told her. She knows Dr P won't believe Colleen came to her - but she WILL beat the cancer - and she WILL be a mother.

At Jimmy's, Billy talks to some celeb (who's already given an exclusive on wedding #5 - but #6 is Billy's). Chloe arrives to exchange quips regarding Billy's late night visit (which Billy can't deny was a 'booty call'). She presents a large envelope - the divorce papers - not signed, yet.

Back at Memorial, Nina and Philip arrive (and say Chance is grabbing everyone some food). Mac watches Cane through the window - you'd never know he's so afraid. He's good at hiding things, Neil blurts out - then apologizes to Jill. S'OK - it took all of them a long time to forgive. Mac has no doubt Cane adores Lily. Inside, Dr P jots down her number for Cane - she hopes good things for Lily. Now alone, Lily can see how tired Cane is, and is sorry she scared him. Colleen promised she'd live a long time - so, let's make plans - to hell with cancer. Lily wants a baby - now.

At CL's, Chance takes his order and is heading for the door when the next guy in line brandishes a knife at Gloria - gimme the cash. Leaping into action, Chance crumples to the floor (stabbed in the belly by the thug who runs off).

Reading her menu - Ashley's bored of being caught between Jack and Victor. Forget him - what about Dad? He wanted them to work together. Ashley tried that - but thanks to HIS backstabbing, it didn't work. Sad - but Ash doesn't trust either Jack or Billy. Spotting Dr P, Jack wastes no time asking her how she likes her job. Dr P's actually grateful Jack recommended her - and agrees to join him for a drink. Looking around for Ashley, he sees she's vanished (didn't wanna cramp my style, he quips). Meanwhile, Ashley's speaking quietly into her phone - she's not sure who's underwriting the IPO - find out - she wants to buy as much Chancellor stock as she can ~click~

Lily persuades Cane into having a baby. If only Colleen came to him too - then he'd know it's meant to be. She's as sure of having a baby (as she was when seeing him the first time ). She knew HE was her future - and so is this baby. Mac interrupts - no, she's not interrupting - come on in. Lily's happy - talking about having a baby. She can't wait. The Dr arrives - pleased to hear Lily feels much better. The fever's gone - the danger's passed. Cane sighs and beams widely. Neil and the rest file in for the good news - and relieved hugs overtake the room; Neil and Cane's being the last (as Lily smiles brightly). In the hallway, Murphy has his cell on speakerphone to call Chance (and his folks) with an update. No, it's not the wrong number. Gloria frantically explains - the man you called has just been stabbed.

Back in the CEO's office, Vikki assures Nick that he can manage NE alone - maybe it needs his new leadership (for the changing world). Nick pretends to grab for the phone (to tell Dad that she just called him a dinosaur). I'm gonna miss you, they exchange with a hug - there'll always be a place at NE for Vikki.

Jeff updates that the police caught the guy - he's in big trouble for stabbing a cop. Glo swats at Jeffrey - imagine that - a robbery - maybe someone's trying to teach Jeff a lesson. Taking a call from Mike, Gloria's gushes ecstatic 'thank you's' and air kisses (then tells Jeff that NE has made a formal offer to reimburse the account holders of the Cayman Bank). God bless the SEC! No more slingin' coffee! they embrace happily.

Wrapping it up at the bar, Jack proclaims GC lucky to have Dr P (and she thinks GC owes it all to Jack). At the staircase, the clumsy Dr P stumbles into Jack's arms. Wasn't it Freud who said 'there are no accidents'? he plants a kiss on her. Good night, he smiles smugly (as the unnerved Dr P's left to finally exhale).

Seated at Jimmy's, Chloe signs the divorce papers - that wasn't so bad. It's for the best, they both agree. Chloe's glad they at least gave it a shot - she'll never have to wonder 'what might have been' - onward and upward. He's got Mac. You'll find someone, Billy assures. Maybe Chloe already has.

Outside Lily's room, the Patrick's watch on as Jill updates Nina (with Philip) that Chance was stabbed. Neil stands rooted - as all run off. Inside, Mac's telling Lily that she'll be a great Mom. Going on and on about motherhood, Lily sees no need to talk about it - or worry about worst case scenarios. Those eggs were saved for a reason, dammit. They'd need to find a surrogate. Conveniently, there's one in the room (who'd just LOVE to do it). Just let Mac know - and it's a go.

Over at emerg., Chance's gurney is wheeled in - past a frantic Nina (and family) who watch on in horror as he's sped by. Oh my God!

Next: I love company, Patty bubbles. You really have this shtick down pat don't you, Phyllis sneers, arms folded ... She knows how much YOU wanted a child, Neil points at Cane's chest. You think I'M pushing her into this, Cane sadly concludes ... You here to divorce me too? Billy quips sarcastically. To Billy, Jack raises his glass - my ex brother.

My Thoughts: Nick was so surprised to see Vikki that I guess he forgot to ask where his nephew, Reed, is - since the boy's been moved to NY, you'd think Nick might like the chance to say good bye to him. Cause - you know the Newman's - family is everything ... What 'very proud tradition' is Nick referring to with regards to Restless Style - a magazine that on several occasions printed exposes on it's founders (and for some reason featured only GC models - virtually everyone on the cover, and inside, was related to the Newman's). Even the 'men we love' issue should have been renamed 'the men in GC we love' - like there's no lovable men in any other US cities. (Cane was also a favourite model - the boxing shoot - his retro newlywed shoot with Lily) ... But never mind past mud slinging - Nick whines that Billy's turned his respectable magazine into a 'gossip rag' ... Who can blame Nick for pulling NE's ads from RS? But has he checked to ensure he's not in violation of some contract? (cause it's unlikely they negotiate ad space every month). And after removing all those ads, has Nick assigned some peon to look into other publications for them to advertise in? I'm not sure why Nick's so confident about beating Billy's wrongful eviction lawsuit - Billy didn't promise anything with regards to RS's respect. And with everyone pulling ads, maybe Billy should be focusing more on advertisers - and less on trying to secure mundane exclusives on some has been celeb's 5th marriage .... OK - Lily did go on a bit too long about her need to be a mother - but I did get choked up when she told Dr P 'I'm not a woman anymore' (anymore? she was ever a woman?)... It might have been nice had the hospital sent in a counselor who isn't the spitting image of the woman who killed Lily's BFF. And how many times will Dr P have to introduce herself with a recap of Patty 'modeling herself' after her. Of course, Neil wouldn't question it - everyone in GC has a look alike come out of the woodwork eventually ... Great idea Jack - if Ashley can get enough shares in CI, she can become a 'force to be reckoned with' on their board - while also keeping her seat on NE's board. In fact, she should get business cards printed up with her new job title - board seat filler ... Why WOULD the board members have a say in what Nick does with the SEC - must all his decisions be voted on? ... Jack claims he's not gonna pepper Kay with questions about what she's up to - then minutes later, does just that. Of course, with Kay doing all her planning in Jabot's boardroom, it wouldn't be too surprising if Jack found out what she's up to. Jill of all people should know how easily the boardroom can be spied on (and bugged) ... What happened to Vikki? One minute she's snarling at Nick for wanting to send her out of town - so HE could run the company - and now she couldn't give a rats ass about NE (because she's married to JT) - and encourages Nick to run the company all by himself. She must be awfully relieved that Nick assures 'there's always a place' for her there ... In the same way, Baldwin handles all things law (corporate to divorce), and Liv was a specialist in every form of medicine - Dr P is an all purpose therapist - specializing in both delusional women in padded cells, and grief counseling for cancer patients ... Why on earth would Jack think Kay low on cash. Never mind that she's a billionaire - she's also got a best seller autobiography (that's being made into a block buster movie). And IF she was foolish enough to somehow lose her fortune (by say, depositing it into an unstable offshore bank) - why would she go to Jack, of all people, for money? ... You have the nerve to show your face here? Ashley snarls at Billy (obviously overlooking the fact that SHE'S divorcing the man who founded NE - not to mention taking over the ranch he's called home for years). Plus, Jack has the nerve to show HIS face at NE whenever her pleases (and at Victor's home too) ... Jabot is Faith's 'legacy'? Her 'future'? As a Newman/Abbott heir, I don't think Faith's financial future will ever be a problem (though she'll lose rights to a slice of the Abbott pie when it's revealed she's not biologically Ashley's) - but maybe Ashley will still consider her a daughter (like Kay - who has no blood ties to the majority of those she calls 'family') .... Ashley loved every minute behind that desk? She was rarely there - and when she was, did nothing but whine about wanting to be back in the lab ... Gotta love Jack's ability to connect anything and everything to Victor - it's HIS fault Jill was put in Ashley's place - because Jack was distracted 'for months' - with Patty on a rampage? Huh? He wasn't aware, or involved with the Patty's 'rampage' until it all hit the fan ... Make up your mind Lily - did Colleen come to you 'in a dream' - or did her spirit make a detour to your place on it's way to the great beyond. Better be careful when talking about dreams and apparitions - especially to a shrink (just ask Ashley). And Colleen did not promise Lily she'd live a long time - she promised a baby - not grand babies ... I'm not exactly sure why Nina and Philip felt the need to rush over to Memorial. Nina isn't exactly fond of Cane (and neither she nor Philip really know Lily). Knowing that Cane and Lily slept together, will Devon run in blaming Cane for Lily's sudden spiral (for ... um .. injecting her with 'germs') ... So, Lily's got a crowd of strangers for support - while her 'brother' and his GF are off at a 'Gym Class Heroes' concert (too bad Neil sold the private jet to buy Indigo, huh?) ... Detective Chance should be investigating the case of the missing sandwiches. Having just picked up a huge bag of Murphy's favourite sandwiches (at Jimmy's), they're nowhere to be seen when he picks up yet another huge bag of take out (at CL's). Since the fishing trip was called off, why not just bring the sandwiches over to the hospital 'for everyone to eat' .. Too bad really - he coulda used one of the bags as a shield against the knife (but who knew a trained marine - and police officer - would be such an easy target for a thug dumb enough to rob a full coffee house - in broad daylight. Like, duh - he doesn't even have a rodent mascot head on) .. Yeah - too bad Colleen didn't come to Cane too (cause we know how well it went the last time a woman came to Cane when he was sleeping) - and it wouldn't be the first of Lily's men Colleen would have 'come to' (or inside - or all over - who knows) ... Of COURSE the guy who stabbed Chance has bee caught by the police - it's outside a donut shop (ba dum DUM).
