The GCAC is packed as the family comments on how lovely Chloe looks. The new DA comes over for introductions. 'This is my ....', interrupted, Chance is dragged away - while Chloe's literally shoved aside. No worries - as a stylist, she's used to fading into the background. Jill and Nina are left to roll their eyes when Chance returns to lead Chloe off by the arm - you're not gonna let me go through this alone are ya?

At RS, Mac pulls away from Billy's kiss - and resists his advances. She's sorry - but needs to face reality. This isn't real? Billy pouts (then points to the tent he's pitching in his pants. OK - I made that part up).

During another pow wow at CL's, Kevin pressures Ryder to cast suspicion on Deacon (and cause reasonable doubt for Daniel). Spill your guts, he encourages. Meeting over, for now, Ryder approaches Jana - whining that he just can't tell Kevin what he wants to hear. Jana's surprised - he's usually so good at that.

'Better luck next time counselor', it seems that Mike (and the attorney he walks out with) have just won a case against Heather. Getting a call from 'Nancy', Heather's pleased to get good news that'll wipe the smug look off Baldwin's face. Having snuck back in to eavesdrop, Mike's aghast - she filed an arrest warrant on Daniel before he even testified before the grand jury? No - well yeah - and Heather's certain that Daniel's going right to jail after the hearing.

At the tackhouse, Daniel thanks his Mom for a great meal - but what's 'the deal' between her and Amber? And over Phyllis' protests, Amber blabs that Phyllis is willing to fund their escape from the country. Run? Daniel balks - you think I'm 'toast'? As usual, Daniel grabs his jacket and marches out (leaving Phyllis to blast Amber for her big mouth).

Ok - so Phyllis doesn't want to fight with her son's wife - but won't work WITH her. Phyllis is the one in charge - got that? Amber's just too impulsive - she rushes things. Yes - like the wedding. But during her loud rant, Phyllis admits that Amber looks at Daniel the exact same way she does at Nick - like he's the only one in the room. (Score one for Amber).

Ryder follows Jana onto the patio to insist he's not playing Kevin for a fool. Jana knows - Ryder's the fool (blowing off the brother who's offering him something he never had - friendship and loyalty). She challenges Ryder to prove he's more than a snake - who's the woman in the car? Does the woman Ryder's protecting protect and defend HIM? The way Kevin does? Huh? DOES she? And as Ryder mulls that over, Jana stomps off - like I said, a bloody fool! Meanwhile, at the counter, Kevin assures Daniel that Ryder doesn't know anything. We'll see about that, Daniel glares as Ryder returns.

Hearing that Mac's going for the transplant tomorrow, Billy claims to be just fine with it - and what if he means it? Mac thinks it'd be nice if Billy held her hand in the delivery room. She needs Billy to be HER friend, not Cane's. But can he really do that?

In the courtroom, the lawyers butt heads over Daniel - with Mike accusing Heather of using the grand jury to 'rubber stamp' her opinion - not find the truth. Does her boss even know? No fan of Heather's, Owen will be furious with her 'misconduct', Mike's sure - - this'll push him over the edge. She is, after all, prosecuting the stepson of a Newman. And what if Billy Abbott, over at RS, found out - he lives for this kind of juicy stuff. Mike then wants Heather to hand over transcripts of Ryder and Deacon's testimony. Come on - no one has to know (just like they don't have to know she jumped the gun in getting the arrest warrant). As Phyllis pokes her head in to summon Mike, Heather's left to think it over (while Phyllis scolds Mike for angering the woman who controls Daniel's future).

As the family watches Chance receiving his award, the Murphy's admire Chloe. Jill scoffs - a chameleon changes it's colours to blend in (but is no less a lizard). Nina admits Chloe likes her son - but she's not the right woman for him. Chloe returns with a grin - um - I can hear you. All then watch as Owen introduces the mayor and other big wigs - Chance first served his country, then the community - heroism is a way of life. All applaud as the soap on a rope .. I mean medal on a ribbon ... is placed around Chance's neck. But the photographer's asked to wait - so he can drag a reluctant Chloe to his side. And later, as Chloe admires Chance's medal, Heather comes over with apologies and congratulations. Her smile pasted on, Chloe's civil (when introduced as Chance's girlfriend)- then denies she's jealous. She's just staking her claim ~kiss~

Billy insists he's not giving empty promises to Mac. But can't she cut him some slack - surely, he's not expected to be happy that she's carrying another man's baby. We'll get through this, he's sure. But as Mac excuses herself to take a call from the clinic, 'Kelly' sashays off the elevator. Here's her name and number - so they can pick up where they left off on the loading dock. Nervously tapping the card in his palm, Billy turns. Oh look - it's Mac - and she heard it all. You slept with her, she states (not questions) blankly (while Billy's expression reads 'busted').

I was miserable, depressed - it meant nothing, Billy blathers - he'd lost Mac, Jack, CC - boo hoo. It was a bad decision is all. Mac grabs her stuff - YOU want to be the man I rely on? she scoffs - the man she loves no longer exists.

Kevin asks Daniel not to rip into Ryder (he's gonna protect you tomorrow). You guys have a lot in common (both having been played by Deacon). Jana chimes in to disagree - Ryder can't be trusted (until he starts talking). Kevin wants answers too - and has made it clear to Ryder that he's lost a brother if he doesn't come through tomorrow. Duh Daniel - of course Kevin has your back.

Still in the courthouse, Mike frustrates the edgy Phyllis. He's not so optimistic anymore - IF Daniel's arrested, he expects it to happen quickly. He also can't guarantee the ladies that Daniel will get bail - he IS a flight risk, after all. But when Amber starts hinting about Daniel flying off to a place without an extradition treaty, Mike immediately puts a stop to it.

The celebration and congratulations continue at the mausoleum - where the family raise champagne glasses to the man they all look up to ~hugs~ Chance thanks them all - but most of all, Chloe. Nina and Jill grimace and roll their eyes as he talks of how much she means to him.

Mac knows Billy won't change - at least Sharon wasn't meeting him in loading docks. She sees his latest 'bad decision' as a gift - enabling her to finally let him go.

Mike glares at Amber and Phyllis - where IS Daniel? Fleeing the country would be the worst possible thing for him. Daniel won't be sitting under some palm tree - he'll be in Somalia or Iran. If he gets caught at the airport all presumption of innocence is gone. Tell me what to do, Phyllis pleads - what she WON'T do is sit back and watch her son be railroaded (giving Heather another notch on her belt).

The Fishers and Daniel grill Ryder on Deacon's relationship with Alkens. Deacon wasn't the third man in the alley, Ryder's sure - and is then asked who else Alken's may have been afraid of. Daisy marches over - whatever he says, he's totally lying.

Back at the mausoleum, Kay tells Chloe that Chance is on video conference with Chance. Chloe's left her purse (with her phone) at RS. Billy's no longer an issue (thanks to Kay's great advice). Chloe's not used to a man looking at her the way Chance does. Kay's so happy for her - now, go get your purse. And when Kay's left to update, Jill and Nina both assume she's gone to chase Billy. She'll prove you wrong, Kay assures.

Yes - Daisy DOES know something they don't - Ryder sent a live rat to Lauren. And when Ryder denies it, Daisy will take the Baldwin's word over his. This is news to Daniel (who's wedding they didn't want to ruin). As Jana takes her off for coffee, Daisy throws Ryder a smile and a wink.

Mike reassures Phyllis that he'll do everything possible to help Daniel - as if he were his own son. Amber hopes Deacon or Ryder lets something slip in their testimony - maybe Kevin can get the recordings. Mike doesn't want Kevin involved in anything illegal - and spotting Heather, sends the worried Phyllis and Amber home.

Jana suggests that Ryder will screw Daniel over before the grand jury. It's not like Kevin will know - the testimony's secret. Heather sure won't confide it. Kevin believes Ryder will point the finger at Deacon (because he stood by Ryder - that's a good thing, no?).

Seated in the far corner, Daisy calls Ryder - don't let em know it's me. He's welcome for her interrupting the question. We should go over your testimony tomorrow. Oh great - you too? Give me a break, Ryder hangs up.

Now at the tack house, Phyllis is sorry she brought up running away - and for putting Amber in the middle. Whoa - did she just apologize to Amber? Daniel's impressed. We're on the same page, Amber informs. For now, Phyllis clarifies. Daniel informs he went to get info from Ryder (and is scolded for disobeying Mike - who seems to have something up his sleeve).

Indeed he does. Mike approaches Heather to confirm they have an understanding. Go ahead and tell Owen about the warrant - but Heather won't give Mike grand jury testimony. Why, she could be disbarred. Her final words? Go to hell.

Chance rejoins his family - yes, the video conference thing is indeed cool. And Philip looks good. Chloe? She sent to get her purse at RS. His face clouding over, Chance asks for more champagne (while Jill wishes they had a web cam at RS right now).

If they did, they'd see Billy once again failing to make any headway with Mac. She's actually 'so sad' for him - he knows how to make himself feel better, but not how to be happy. She finally manages to escape when Chloe returns for her purse. You OK? No, Billy's not. Chloe's not in the mood to gloat - hang in there buddy. That's it? You're gonna leave me to wallow here? How about she buys Billy a drink? Chloe can't - and no, it's not that she has plans - she just doesn't love him anymore.

Next: Kay's seated with Jack at the club - Tell me why you think I should invite you in on my IPO. Jack unfolds a letter - he's gonna let someone else do his talking for him ... Unless you take the stand this minute, you'll be held in contempt, Heather stands in the open doorway of the court room as she warns Deacon (as Vikki looks on with worry) .. I can't go back to jail, Daniel tells Mike - I just can't do it again.

My Thoughts: Billy was so irresistable that 'Kelly' jumped him in an alley - but now - in an empty office, Kelly doesn't even kiss him? Odd - cause if Mac actually caught Billy in the act, it'd be an even 'bigger' gift (and we might actually see some emotion outta this character) ... Who knew going for muffins would give Chance such hero status. Never mind Chloe and her petty jealousy - Paul must be really pissed. In fact I scanned the scene slow motion, expecting to see him sitting in a corner somewhere - scowling and drinking straight scotch (hidden behind a newspaper and his aluminum briefcase of course). All those scars he showed off in Chance's hospital room - 127 stitches or sumthin' - and you don't see any ribbons hangin' round Paul's neck ... Why is Nina so impressed with a video cam? She's in the MOVIE business for crying out loud! Didn't she ever chat via webcam with Chance while he was in Iraq? Yeah - it's real 'cool' - and look Nina, this is a digital camera. No - it doesn't have a cartoon bird doing pencil sketches inside ... You father wishes he could be here, Jill has the nerve to say. Why isn't he? Unless Philip's at this very moment wrestling cattle rustlers, why couldn't he fly on out? He IS a Chancellor after all - isn't there some private jet he can hop on? ... Never mind who killed Alkens - he was a con many anyway - who cares? What I wanna know is who stole the mole off Heather's face - right from under her nose (so to speak) ... Duh Phyllis - Amber's looking at Daniel like he's the only guy in the room - because he IS the only guy in the room ... Kevin's right - Daniel and Ryder DO have a lot in common. They both wear orange jumpsuit's well - um, they both have a chipmunk as their BFF - um - they're both somewhat feminine looking - and given a few years, I suspect they'll both know Amber inside and out ... Yeah - that'd be swell for Billy to get to hold Mac's hand as she delivers Cane's baby. Maybe if he's real lucky he can run out to the convenience store in the the wee hours to satisfy odd food cravings - or rub her swollen feet ... There's gonna be days Billy's not thrilled that Mac's carrying another man's child? Does that mean there'll be days he WILL be thrilled? ... Kinda funny that Phyllis scolds Mike for upsetting Heather (a woman she once slapped across the face)With everyone harping on about the mystery woman in Ryder's car, why wouldn't Ryder just say she was a hooker he picked up on 10th avenue - and dropped off at 12th avenue (a much happier, if not poorer, driver) ... Great idea Baldwin - Billy can write an expose on a lawyer who applies for a warrant a day earlier than she should have - OR - would Billy rather write an expose on a lawyer who spent years in jail for attacking the woman he later almost married - a lawyer who's represented every member of his family on murder charges (along with other charges). Hmmmm - now THAT's juicy stuff (and Heather should be slapped for not coming back with it)
