Phyllis leaves for Daniel's hearing - no need for Nick to come, she'll keep him posted. Noah arrives at his 'favourite bank' - he'd like to buy Mom something special for Christmas (after her rough year). Noah reports that Sharon's been acting kinda strange - and spending time in her room with the door closed - almost like she's hiding something. Noah has no idea what's going on - but Nick might.
Adam arrives at CL's with a bouquet of flowers. Yes - they ARE beautiful - almost as beautiful as the woman they're for. Woman? Heather wonders if she knows about Rafe. Yes - SHE understands what Heather couldn't - she's a remarkable woman. If Heather can't be happy for him, the least she can do is stop perpetuating lies about his sexual orientation.
With Faith's bracelet in her hand, Sharon's all teary eyed over her conversation with Nick (about the plaque). On her laptop, she types an email - admitting she overreacted - maybe Nick can stop by to talk about it. PS .... Adam's call interrupts - hey gorgeous. He's in the neighbourhood - well, he CAN be. Hello? You there? Come on over - but it's gotta be short, Sharon smiles.
On the CL's patio, Vikki's still fretting over appearing before the grand jury - what if Heather brings up Deacon? JT stands abruptly - let's just go to the courthouse and get this over with.
At the counter, Amber's whining to Jana. Deacon sidles up - he'd be glad to keep her warm at night if Daniel goes to jail. Get away from me you creep! Amber's swinging arm is easily caught. As she leaves, Jana points out the sign - she reserves the right to refuse service to anyone - 'anyone' being Deacon.
In the courtroom, Phyllis assures Daniel that he's not going to jail. Kevin arrives - Ryder? He must be stuck in traffic. He'll BE here. Enter Kevin's other brother. Mike's been going over the case - and wants to change strategy - plead the 5th.
Kay meets Jack at the club. Give me your pitch, she invites. Jack hands over a letter - he'll let someone else do his talking for him. Kay reads aloud. It's the congratulatory letter she wrote John the day he 'broke ground' on Jabot's building. John treasured this letter - and Kay's loyalty until the day he died. Jack merely wants more control over the company that was his father's legacy. If Kay can't find it in her heart to do it for Jack, do it for dear old Dad. You don't play fair, Kay sighs.
In the court's waiting room, Mike advises Daniel refuse to answer any questions pertaining to the murder. He has the right to come out and consult with his lawyer at any time during questioning - don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Daniel doesn't understand - what's changed? Mike received new information - the DA's office has already got an arrest warrant. Daniel can't give them any more ammunition. As Ryder arrives, Heather calls him in as her first witness. 'Good luck', Ryder extends his hand to Daniel (who hesitates briefly before shaking it). Tell the truth - tell them Daniel didn't do this, Amber calls after him.
Back at the tack house, Nick explains that Sharon's upset about the plaque - it made her feel cut out. It was a nice gesture on Phyllis' part - but Nick owes Sharon an apology.
Sharon admires the flowers Adam brought over. She likes him a lot - and had a great time the other night - but it's moving a bit too fast. Noah almost caught them - and THAT wouldn't be cool. Adam understands - we can be discreet. Sharon suggests they don't see one another as often. Thanks for understanding. But as Sharon goes to put the flowers in water, a bummed out Adam slumps into the sofa with a heavy sigh. Squinting at the laptop, he reads Sharon's email to Nick.
Nick plans to give Sharon some space before going to talk to her - then hands Noah some cash. But getting Sharon's email (on his phone) - asking him to come over, Nick decides it's a good time to talk to her after all.
Sharon's vague - she'll invite him over for dinner - this time with Noah. As they kiss at the door, Adam apologizes for getting carried away - he just wants her so damn much. And as the kissing heats up, Nick's return email reads 'I'm on my way'.
Back at the club, Kay reconsiders Jack's request - but is already obligated to other investors. Jack appreciates it - ANY piece of the pie is better than no pie at all. And oh how John loved Kay's lemon meringue pie. It was Coconut, Kay corrects - enough of the John card - you wore me down. Yes - Jack's in. Grinning, he promises she's made the right decision.
As the Hellstrum's arrive at the courthouse, JT walks off to take a call. As Vikki follows, Tucker McCall instructs JT to 'do it now'. Yes Sir, JT replies ~click~ Yes - everything's OK - but he has to take off. You'll be fine, JT assures as he bolts.
As Daniel's support team fret over the arrest warrant, Mike instructs him to stick with the plan. When Deacon comes along to needle Daniel about who'll take care of Amber when he's locked up, Daniel's restrained - just let it go. But Phyllis won't (and delights the audience when she marches over to toss her cup of water in Deacon's face). Nice goin' Mom!
Ryder comes out - how'd it go? Kevin asks. Ryder just wants to get out of there (and does just that). When Heather comes out to summon Deacon, he whines that he's drenched (and has just been assaulted) - call someone else. Unless he takes the stand this minute, Heather warns he'll be held in contempt. You're next, she glares at the nervous Vikki.
God I hate that man, Amber mutters - while Mike shakes his head at Phyllis (who thought he looked better 'damp'). And as Vikki comes over to join them, Daniel starts to panic at the thought of going back to jail - I can't do it. I won't make it this time.
Vikki comes out to report it was a little intense - she explained how she and Daniel returned the Terroni (and that he's a good guy). Daniel appreciates that. Fanning herself (cause he head's 'swimming') Vikki will have to call Mike later with more info - good luck Daniel. At the elevator, Deacon asks Vikki if she mentioned anything about 'us'. Excuse me, she shoves him out of the way and gets into the elevator. Everyone's so touchy, Deacon grumbles to himself.
Daniel's now on the stand - being asked about the Terroni. On the advice of his attorney, Daniel's not answering that question (on the grounds that it might incriminate him). Heather's frustrated - does he plan to answer all her questions by pleading the 5th? Daniel does - but buckling under a barrage of questions, finally blurts out 'There was a third man in the alley' - then standing, denies he killed Alkens. And as Daniel talks of picking up the gun, Heather pounces - instead of calling the police, he fled the scene.
Jack talks to Kay of his mistake in taking Jabot public (allowing Victor to take over). He'll forever relive the moment John realized that his life's work was no longer theirs. It broke his heart. Kay disagrees - 'family' (not work) was John's heart. She hopes having a small part of CI will give Jack peace. It will - like she can't know. Have the most wonderful day, Jack leaves Kay to reread the letter.
Now at CL's, Kevin just knew Ryder would do the right thing. Ryder's had a rough morning and is going to lay down. Poor guy, Kevin sympathizes. But Jana's only concern is Daniel. Let's hope Ryder came through like he said he would. Kevin hopes so too.
Daniel comes out to admit he tried pleading the 5th as long as he could - but Heather kept coming at him - making him look like a monster. Looks like he may have screwed it up. Mike assures it'll be fine - go home and relax. Phyllis pleads and grovels a bit - I'm counting on you, she too hurries out. Mike waits for Heather to emerge - he's not proud of what he said last night. But actually, he didn't eavesdrop - he merely overheard a conversation she chose to have in a public place. Mike IS going to Owen - he's just not proud of himself for doing so. He'll tell Heather's boss all about her vendetta against the Newman's - her history of overzealous prosecutions will be relayed in 'spectacular detail'. In fact, it's now Mike's mission in life to have Heather fired and disbarred. You wouldn't do that, she looks worried. Does Mike want transcripts in exchange for his silence? That sounds like blackmail - and check mate. IF you were wearing a wire, Mike smiles smugly - now, what did Sharp and Callahan say? Heather will think about it. Walk away - and Mike goes straight to her boss. 'Taking her chances', Heather strolls off - but hurries back when Mike gets on the phone. Hang up, she snaps - she'll to tell Mike whatever he wants to know.
Jack shows up at the tack house - he got in on the IPO (and wants to thank Nick for his non existent help). Phyllis snaps that Nick's not there - go home. Bad timing? Jack wonders. Phyllis apologizes - come in. She appreciates Jack for sparing Nick last night - they just weren't up for Sharon's latest crisis. Jack doubts Nick will EVER be 'up' for this one. Sharon's involved with Adam. Wow! She's hit an all time low, Phyllis is dumbfounded.
Sharon and Adam pant all over one another in the bedroom. And as he unzips her dress, Adam wants to take all day. And as the pair hit the bed, Nick rings the doorbell - then knocks. Hmmm - the door's unlocked. Sharon? Hearing muffled sounds, a puzzled Nick looks up the staircase.
Ryder's taking a nap!? the Romalotti's aren't impressed. Nor are they happy when two officers come into CL's to arrest Daniel for the murder or Ray Alkens. Deacon peeks in as Daniel's cuffed and read his rights (while Kevin gets on the phone to Mike).
Arriving at the club, Vikki mutters 'be there' - but gets JT's voicemail. It's been a hell of a morning - and she needs to hear his voice - call me, please. Meanwhile, JT visits Kay - on business. Tucker McCall was interested to hear she's taking CI public - and would like to be included? Keep talking, Kay indeed sounds interested.
Jack rants - he was sick to his stomach walking in on Adam and Sharon kissing - Adam's got 'poor' Sharon mesmerized. Whoa - 'poor Sharon'? Phyllis balks - does he expect Nick to go save Sharon? He's no longer her knight in shining armour - those days are over. He's MY husband. Mike then barges in - never mind how he found out, but Ryder and Deacon both plead the 5th (which 'ain't good'.
Sharon? Nick opens the door to Sharon's bedroom - and is stunned to get a great view of a naked Sharon and Adam in bed.
Next: Tucker McCall? Neil sounds impressed - what did he say? He wants in, Kay replies ... Ashley asks Jack - how was your conversation with Katherine? Something's going on, Jack looks worried ... Why did you just want into my house?! an outraged (and robe clad) Sharon asks Nick. You sent me an email, Nick explains. I never sent it, a puzzled Sharon shakes her head.
My Thoughts: Daniel's 'got to be terrified' - I know I would be Jana says (and you'd think she'd know - having faced murder charges of her own) ... When shown full length, in profile, MS (Phyllis) should learn to suck in her belly ... If JT's to be taught 'everything you ever wanted to know about business, but were afraid to ask (by Tucker McCall), should his voice mail greeting say he's 'head of security'? And what does visiting Kay (with regards to her taking CI public) have to do with security? And unless Tucker McCall runs a security based enterprise, why is JT, a glorified security guard, in charge of starting up offices in GC? ... Odd that we've never heard of the much revered Tucker McCall before this. Everyone who utters his name seems to be completely awestruck - their eyes widen - it's like he's Keyser Söze (from the classic movie The Usual Suspects) ..... Um - It's December - almost the end of the semester. NOW Nick's made aware that his son has 1st period free? Did he think Noah was just late for class every day? And isn't Noah old enough to go withdraw spending money from a real account - at a real bank - not Daddy's wallet? ... Silly Noah - did he really expect Sharon to stick to her word - and be the real Mom she's always wanted to be? Just because the exciting 'job opportunities' she once blathered on about have evaporated, doesn't mean you're gonna get home made cookies and family game nights .... Yeah - JT DID turn into a selfish bastard overnight - but ya still can't blame him for bolting at the mention of Deacon's name. Does any cheatee want to hear the name of the co-cheater come from their spouses lips? Bet JT wishes he hadn't slept with Colleen when he had the chance .... If Sharon doesn't want things to 'move so fast' with Adam, maybe she should think about keeping her legs closed for a bit. And after two 'close calls' with Noah already, why is Sharon all over Adam in the living room - once again? Hasn't she traumatized the kid enough already? Let's hope Rafe kept those emancipation papers in a safe place ... Daniel 'can't make it' if he goes back to jail? Haven't we heard these exact same words - from Kevin? And from Gloria? ... Ryder needs a nap? His stomach is all tied up? How can pleading the 5th take so much outta him? It's always looked to me like the kid's in need of a jumbo muffin or sumthin' ... How clever of Adam to turn on some music - must be pretty loud for Sharon not to have heard - the doorbell - the knocking - Nick repeatedly calling out her name. You'd think she'd learn to keep the front door locked.
