At the jailhouse, Daniel realizes he shoulda followed Mikey's advice (and plead the fifth - like Deacon and Ryder). While Mike understands him caving under Heather's 'goading', Phyllis is livid. Initially planning to march into the DA's office - to get it through their thick skulls that her son's innocent, she's warned not to. I need a drink! she huffs out.
Oh look who's out of 'hiding'. At CL's, Kevin reams out Ryder for pleading the 5th. Boy, was HE 'snowed'. Did Ryder not promise to help Daniel? Even wished him good luck (before he testified)? So? Has Ryder anything to say for himself before Kevin kicks his ass out?
In his office, Nick flashes back to lecturing Sharon in front of Adam. Vikki visits to ask how Phyllis is (and is told she's determined to clear Daniel). After whining about how awful it was to testify before the grand jury, Vikki has good news - she's onboard with buying CI stock (and making a fortune).
At the club, the dapper JT's on the phone with Mr McCall - Kay's interested but wants to meet him (as she won't push friends and family aside for a stranger). Yes - it's all been kept very confidential. I'll wait for your call. JT then scowls at his laptop (the GC Chronicle's headline reads 'Restless Style Leaks Details From Elkins Grand Jury'. His next call's to Vikki - meet me at home - it's important. Exiting Nick's office, Vikki exchanges insults with Adam - who then ducks back out to take a call from Sharon. She appreciates the way he handled Nick barging in - terrible way for him to find out - but she's relieved the truth is out. Next step? To tell Noah (before someone else does). 'Bye beautiful', Adam hangs up. And does Nick need anything? Yeah - Adam can quit using Sharon to mess with HIM. Alas, Adam can't - he's in 'too deep'. Face it - your ex has feelings for me.
When Phyllis returns with some cans of soda, Mike and Daniel continue to dissuade her from going all 'rogue' on the DA's office. It's all about the evidence (which points to Daniel). Daniel could very well be 'screwed' - unless they deliver the mysterious third person in the alley with a bow. Then that's exactly what we'll do - and Phyllis knows someone who can help.
Ryder claims to be upset about Daniel's arrest - he's a cool guy. But if he talked to the grand jury, Deacon threatened to shut him up for good. Terrible Tom always followed through on HIS threats and yes - he really, really DOES believe Deacon would kill him.
Noah comes home to home made banana bread - and the news that his Mom's become more than a friend to Adam. The conversation Noah had with his Dad now all makes sense. Yes, dad knows, Sharon admits - and he's not happy about it.
With the office door now closed, Adam denies sending any email - and his sleeping with Sharon is NOT payback. It's none of his business anyway. He had his choice - and chose Phyllis. He cares about Sharon - a lot. Prove it - back off - she's fragile after losing the baby. Adam disagrees - and unlike Nick, HE can keep her satisfied. In fact, Adam can make Sharon happy as much and as often as he wants. POW! Nick delivers a right hook to the jaw. Adam won't be his punching bag - and warns that Nick just blew it - big time.
Sharon talks of second chances and Adam's big heart. Noah doesn't want her to be alone - but isn't it a bit soon? Sharon isn't over her loss - but has to live life. Noah won't bail on his Mom - or her great baking ~hug~ And as Sharon heads to the kitchen, Noah makes a call - meet me at CL's - he has weird news.
At the tackhouse, with Phyllis and Paul, Mike gets a call - calm down, he'll be right over. He then updates Phyllis that her hubby needs him at NE. Something happened between him and Adam. Flashing back to Jack's bombshell, Phyllis figured they'd butt heads eventually.
Vikki meets JT at home. Reed's with the nanny. Vikki shares her news first - she's going ahead with the IPO. His news? Billy's latest masterpiece. Vikki reads online the news of her affair - confirmed before the grand jury. It was supposed to be sealed! she wails (while JT's ticked that she's only concerned with how this effects her business-wise). Vikki denies she only cares about NE. How could Billy do this? The press will be all over this. You play, you pay, JT snarls. Why is he acting so cold? Like he doesn't care. And over Vikki's protests, JT takes a call regarding McCall's new office.
Paul and Phyllis are left to discuss Daniel's case - there's no evidence to support there being a third person in the alley. Phyllis isn't asking Paul to do anything illegal - but there MUST be something he can do. OK, Paul knows a way to view the case file - but she won't like it. Phyllis will do ANYTHING to help her son.
Kevin visits Daniel - also vowing to get him out of there. He believes Ryder was threatened by Deacon (and is genuinely scared). Daniel remains unconvinced - let's talk about something else.
Ice pack in hand, Adam snaps a photo of his face. What's he doing? Mike wonders. Documenting the evidence. Now in Nick's office, Mike confirms that Nick hit Adam (and scolds him for hitting his visually impaired employee). Nick realizes his mistake. Question is - what can they do about it?
When Paul welcomes Heather into the tackhouse, Phyllis appreciates Heather's high morals - and knows she wants the truth. Daniel's being set up (and railroaded). Her son's NOT the killer. Near tears, Phyllis hopes Heather never has to go through this. After Phyllis goes upstairs, to give them a moment', Heather hopes Paul's not gonna pull the 'father card'. Paul knows Daniel's a good kid - and wants a look at the case file. Absolutely not, Heather can't let him do that. Paul merely wonders if the cops missed something. He's not 'using' their relationship. If SHE were in Daniel's situation, he'd do anything to help her. Stop being an ADA for a minute - help this kid.
Back at the jailhouse, Kevin's so sorry he let Daniel down. Daniel's worried about HIM - Ryder's wormed his way into his home and business. What if Ryder's next target is HIM - or someone he loves?
Having summoned Adam into the office, Mike and Nick do some damage control regarding his 'inappropriate' behavior. Can't Adam put this behind him? It won't happen again. An apology won't cut it - Adam's getting a lawyer and charging Nick with assault. And as he walks out, Nick has the good sense to look worried.
On the CL's patio, Abby thinks it 'eeuuuw' that his Mom's dating Adam. He's been great to her Mom - but she wishes he'd move out. No way - Noah doesn't want him moving in with them. Funny - that Abby and Noah are both more 'stable' than their parents.
Adam calls Sharon - can I come over? Something's happened ~click~ Sharon then gets a visit from Nick. May he please come in? He's sorry about yesterday - but he was upset. Jealous? No - just caught off guard. Now inside, Nick relays that Adam was needling him on how great they are together - and he 'lost it'. Lost it? I punched him in the face. It's not what Adam said - it's how he said it - calculated. And it was no accident that Nick showed up yesterday. Adam sent the email. He also 'tricked' Nick into punching him - and is gonna milk this. You're kidding! Sharon's stunned - but does Nick REALLY think Adam wanted to be hit? Yep - that's exactly what Nick thinks. He promises to leave Sharon alone - if only she'll open her eyes - there's nothing real about her relationship with Adam.
As JT wraps up his call, Vikki's annoyed that he's leaving to deal with a problem with office furniture. JT's over her affair with Deacon - it's old news. We're still together aren't we? Vikki disagrees - they may live in the same house - but, how long has it been since they 'connected'? JT balks - it's MY fault? It IS true that Vikki does what she wants - just like with the IPO. This marriage isn't a partnership - he merely exists in Vikki's world. Shrugging into his coat, JT accuses Vikki of hopping into bed to 'get even' for what she thinks happened between him and Colleen. Vikki's apologized for that - doesn't JT believe she wants to work on the marriage? Not really - and yeah, he IS IS 'pissed' (that her ONS is all over the Internet). But right now, JT's got more important things to do than deal with this ~slam~
Kevin returns to hear Ryder fixed the espresso machine. Getting no response, Ryder wonders if Kevin wants him to leave. Did I say that!? Kevin snaps. He then mopes to Mike - Daniel's given up. He thinks he's never getting out. It's not over, Mike refuses to give up.
And as Daniel pouts over his empty ring finger, Mike announces he's calling Ryder and his buddy, Deacon, to the stand. He's not my buddy, Ryder clarifies. Mike sees two options - talk now - or go to jail and wish he had. He won't give up until he finds out what Ryder's hiding.
At the club, Paul hands the file back to Heather - I owe ya one. Heather's sure Paul won't find what he's looking for - Romalotti's guilty. After she leaves, Paul calls Phyllis - shooter must have parked nearby - he'll check for parking violations that night - gas stations - and any surveillance cameras in the area. But don't get too excited - it's a long shot. Phyllis thanks Paul - and after hanging up, updates Nick (also informing him of the RS expose on Vikki - using direct quotes from her testimony - she admitted to the affair). And what's this about Adam? Nick informs that he gave Adam a black eye and is being sued him over it. Phyllis wonders why Nick snapped - but never mind - she doesn't need the details - he had it coming.
Looking like he just came from a bar room brawl, Adam marches into Sharon - sure she wants to know where he got the 'shiner'. Sharon wants to know more than that - why are you with me Adam? Tell me again - you have strong feelings for me? Or do you want revenge on Nick?
Next: Mike tells Adam that if he's suing NE (along with Nick), he's essentially suing his father. THAT will be on Nick's head, Adam replies ....A nervous Ryder gulps when Lauren confronts him - I think it's time you and I had a serious talk ... The guy who stabbed you is out there somewhere, roaming the streets? Chloe asks Chance. There's got to be something more to this, Chance seems puzzled.
My Thoughts: Isn't it great? That Vikki, and everyone else who buys CI stock stands to make a 'fortune'. But since Kay's all about donating, wouldn't it have been nice if she sold the shares to those in need - as opposed to those who already have more money than they can possibly spend? ... Not sure why Phyllis places so much confidence in Paul's investigative skills - when he never caught HER for running him over in her rental car. I'm not so sure he'd go to such great lengths to help her if he knew that ... Where did Phyllis get the idea that Heather Stevens has 'high morals'? She slept with a convicted felon still under house arrest - and making only the slightest obligatory noise, handed over a confidential file to her Dad. But I guess Mike wouldn't tattling to her boss (or RS) about THAT one, will he? ... Great that RS was so quickly able to throw the Vikki expose onto it's website - but what about the print version? With the deadline looming, has Billy even decided a cover story yet? ... I thought for sure that when Phyllis left, in need of a 'drink', she'd be hitting the nearest bar - not come back minutes later - with some cans of pop ... Poor Vikki - not only is she suddenly saddled with an all-business husband - but she's gotta dress in black and hold various items over her swelling belly every day. Odd that she didn't ask WHERE Reed was with the nanny (who spends so much time with the boy that she may as well file for full guardianship). Why WOULD a fashion magazine publish an expose on a cheating business woman anyway? In fact, Vikki's not even a business woman now - she's just a cheating housewife ... 'One client per family' Mike tells Phyllis (when she wants to 'strangle' Heather) - Good thing he doesn't apply that policy to his OWN family) ... What exactly does JT know about 'office furniture'? And why is that so important? Most professionals in GC don't even HAVE an office. 'Completely confidential' JT assures him new boss (like anything in GC is EVER confidential - especially pertaining to this not so secret IPO) ... Yes - Daniel - you are 'screwed' - literally (come ON Mike - he's a newlywed in a cell - what else does he have to do - other than 'beat himself up'?) Poor Daniel - rubbing the barren finger where his wedding ring should be - like he's been wearing it for 20 years (instead of 5 minutes). If it makes him feel any better, I'm sure Amber's will come off soon too ... Thank goodness someone was finally able to fix that stupid espresso machine - way to go Ryder! Is the repair warrantied? If Ryder's so scared of Deacon - because he knows things about him that Kevin doesn't, why wouldn't Kevin be curious about what exactly Deacon's done to invoke such fear? And when did Deacon get the opportunity to even speak to (or threaten) Ryder? ... Noah's only concern with his Mom dating Adam is that it's a bit 'soon'? I guess he wouldn't find it odd that Mom's dating Dad's brother (since it's common practice in GC) - but instead of it being 'too soon' after her baby 'dying' - maybe he thinks it's 'too soon' after her going house hunting (and planning a life) with Nick. That must be SOME banana bread Sharon makes. Yes - Dad knows about Sharon and Adam - and he's 'not happy about it'. Why the hell WOULD he be? Is Nick supposed to throw them a party or sumthin'? .. Why would Noah ask Abby about living with Adam - didn't HE live at the ranch - for months - with Adam? .. How was Noah's day? Long? Puh-lease - rough day asking shopping with Daddy's money? Drinking lattes? .. Sharon doesn't want Noah to keep his 'posse' waiting? He has a posse? Is that his pet name for Eden? ... As annoying as Abby is - she's not exactly wrong in saying she and Noah are more 'stable' than their mothers. Both Mom's HAVE spent time in a psychiatric facility? ... Sharon finally has the sense to wonder why Adam's so interested in her? Could it be the banana bread? Since the other senses are supposed to kick in when one fails, you'd think a blind guy would comment on the delicious aroma emanating from the kitchen. And since Adam's vision is so limited, why would he take his OWN photo (to document the evidence). How does he know he didn't just take a photo of the desk? Maybe the same woman - who brought him the ice pack (and can see) coulda taken the photo .... Adam has a great 'heart'? By 'heart' Sharon obviously means penis.
