When Chloe goes to tuck Delia in for the night, Billy asks to tag along. Chance accepts Chloe's invite to 'come with', but stays to answer his phone instead. Hey, it's me - Briggs. Yes - the guy who stabbed him. He's in trouble - and needs a 'stand up' guy like Chance to come on down and help him. Huh? What's going on - and how did you get my number? ~click~ Putting his coat on, Chance reports he got a weird call - and needs to go to the jail house to check it out. That leaves Billy to acknowledge that Chloe's not just using Chance to make him jealous - could this be love? Chloe confides she's pretty 'nuts' about her trustworthy, dependable boyfriend. And boring as hell, Billy quips as he exits - call me if he starts walking on water.
On the patio, Lauren has a few questions for Ryder - starting with his disappearing act Thanksgiving Day. Lauren's had concerns from day one - but put them aside to welcome him into her home. And why did he plead the 5th? Knowing they were all counting on him? See? This is what Ryder's talking about - it's not like they'll believe him anyway. Don't play my family, Lauren warns - if Ryder hurts someone she cares about, he'll go back to jail - and if she ever proves he sent the rat, he'll wish he never got out. Joining them, Mike immediately gets a call from Bruce. Seems Adam's retained his services. So, 'the weasel's' going for it.
Over beers at Vikki's, Nick nurses his sore knuckles - nope, not Billy (though he's next). Adam? Vikki's surprised - hitting his blind brother doesn't seem like Nick (who feels stupid for playing into Adam's hands). Don't let him get to you, Vikki advises - Adam can't take anything from you. You'd be surprised, a glum Nick gulps his beer.
Back at Sharon's, Adam gives a great performance. Not only is Sharon beautiful, funny and kind - she 'gets' him like no one else has. She didn't judge him for the horrific things he's done. And while his own family wouldn't have him at their Thanksgiving table she shared pasta with him - the best meal he's had in years. And hasn't she found someone she can be herself with? Listen to her whine about the baby she lost? Near tears, Adam wraps it up - no one's believed in him since his mother died. I'm so sorry, Sharon stammers (as Adam races out the door - 'gotta go').
Still at the mausoleum, Billy's eating one of Ester's great Ruben's (while Chloe chides that his personal chef's now eating pickles and ice cream). Yes - Chance is a great guy - maybe Billy should stop doggin' him and be more LIKE him. Watch your back, Billy reminds her of Cane being a fraud - so maybe Sir Galahad isn't as squeaky clean as he pretends to be either.
Chance is let into the prison cell and asks a well dressed man, 'Syd', what's going on - where are all the inmates? Under lock down - because his 'knife wielding' pal escaped. Chance relays that Riggs called him - said he needed help. Having no info, Syd only knows that Riggs is long gone now.
No, Nick declines discussing what Adam did to set him off - let's talk about JT. Yeah, Vikki DID hope her going to New York would get the marriage back on track. During what little time JT wasn't working, things were tense. And no - it's not better since they came home - it's worse. Nick again suggests Vikki go to Dubai on business - maybe time apart will help - take Reed. When he and Phyllis were having problems, Nick going to Hong Kong really helped - distance works. Plus, her talents and expertise would be appreciated - go do what you love. A call from Mike interrupts - Adam did it - he's suing for assault.
Chloe scolds Billy for making Vikki's problems public (even if it IS true). Billy wants to print the truth - doesn't she want RS to be a success. Before Chance came along she'd have been eager to cash in on the scandal too. How long can she keep up this goody goody two shoes act? While Mac and Chance are cut from the same cloth, so are he and Chloe. Maybe I've changed, Chloe replies. Yeah, Billy told himself that once too - lemme know if that works out.
Syd explains how Riggs complained of stomach pains and escaped GCM in shackles. Yes, he'll keep Chance posted.
Meanwhile, Lauren relays warning Ryder not to mess with her family - she won't tolerate that. As Ryder slips out the back, Mike hopes it works. Lauren now heads back to close up the boutique - how about they meet for an after dinner drink? ~kiss~ When Adam arrives, Mike reports he just spoke with his lawyer - we should talk.
Leaving Vikki's, Nick's still grumbling about the stupid lawsuit - and is off to meet Mike. Think about Dubai. Vikki's not sure running away is the answer - or taking Reed away from his Dad. Forget about Billy - just take care of the Adam mess.
Looking guilty, Sharon arranges the flowers Adam brought her - then is surprised to get a visit from Doris. Of course the place looks 'lovely' - Sharon does nothing but clean (to take her mind off things). And the flowers? Jack? Nick? No, Sharon's seeing someone new. Already? Oh sweetheart - when will you ever learn? Doris tuts with disapproval.
Getting off the elevator at Jabot, Lauren sees Ryder scurry by (ignoring her as she calls out his name). She then joins Daisy. Her burn's healing well and it didn't ruin her Thanksgiving at all. Lauren's like her surrogate Mom. Oh no, Lauren's the lucky one - she found a hard worker - and a great girl ~hug~
Billy shouts out a 'thank you' to Ester - then has more words with Chloe. He just wants her to slow down a bit. Too bad, Chloe's life's not about what Billy wants anymore - butt out. Chance returns to hear 'Billy was just leaving'. No, Chance doesn't have any juicy stories from jail (and makes it clear he doesn't approve of the Vikki expose either). Now alone, Chance isn't bothered by Billy - what's bugging him has nothing to do with Billy.
Sharon insists that yes, she IS happy. She's finally met a man who doesn't treat her like she's a poor, helpless mess. Doris balks - Jack and Nick treated her pretty well. Yes, but this guy understands Sharon (on a level they never did). Doris insists she IS rushing - when was the last time Sharon was without a man? She has no feelings left for the father of the child she just lost? Certain it's over for good with Nick, Sharon's now happy with Adam. Adam? Nick's brother? You're asking for trouble, Doris warns.
Back at CL's, Mike assures that Nick regrets his mistake. No excuses - but Mike hopes cooler heads can prevail and they can resolve this outside the courtroom. Adam wishes he could let it go - but can't. Tired of being Nick's lackey at NE, Adam won't be bullied - personally or professionally. In that case, Mike has a request - let Victor know (as suing the company, he's essentially suing his father - he deserves a heads up). See ya around, Mike leaves Adam to pull out his phone. Dad, it's Adam.
Closing up the boutique, Lauren puts the money in the safe - and sends Daisy home for the evening. Startled when the lights go out, Lauren grabs a flashlight - Daisy? Daisy? Following a rustling noise, she shrieks in horror as a rat comes running out.
Now at RS, Billy's on the phone - if Daddy wants to come down to protect his little girl, bring it on. Speak of the devil - Vikki arrives to warn that he's messing with the wrong Newman.
Mike joins Nick in his office - and relays the run in with Adam at CL's. He wasn't 'receptive' to keeping this out of court - but then Mike asked him to call his father. As Mike figured, Victor talked Adam out of suing. But don't get too excited - Adam wants a promotion. What's he want? President? CEO? Nope - Adam wants to be a full partner with Nick. He gets it - or Nick risks losing his position altogether.
Chloe's horrified to hear that Riggs is out roaming the streets. Chance doesn't think he 'has it out' for him - but if was planning to escape, WHY would he call? Unless .... I dunno. Chance can't shake the feeling 'there's something else'.
Coming back for her scarf, Daisy asks about the lights being off - and where's the rat? As the lights suddenly come back on, Daisy wonders if the same person sent her this rat. Lauren's pretty sure she saw Ryder leaving - but is too freaked out to be sure. Daisy also suspects Ryder - she didn't see him, but the guy totally creeps her out. Meanwhile, a suspicious looking, Ryder sneaks back onto the CL's patio - and grabbing his tea towel, heads in to work.
As Billy types away, Vikki hovers. He doesn't want to be hit (as he's doing a photo shoot for the local paper - they're doing an article on the success of RS, he boats with a grin). Vikki lectures - he doesn't care who's life he ruins - or that her marriage could be over (because of what HE'S done) - that her little boy might watch his parents divorce. Billy points out that he didn't force her into Deacon's bed. Vikki agrees - but since he doesn't understand what he did, she'll have to find another way to make her point - when he least expects it thing. And when Billy shivers in mock terror, Vikki pauses on her way out to claim that he has NO idea what trouble she can cause for him. Still looking unconcerned, Billy continues to type.
When Nick can't believe Adam's demands, Mike points out that it's THIS attitude that got Adam worked up in the first place. Nick was supposed to be respectfully bring him into the company - but instead, treated him like an underling. Nick admits he was dismissive - but it's obscene for him to be here walking the halls (after what he pulled). yes, Nick ignored Victor's request - and now he's gonna ignore Adam's (sure even Victor wouldn't sign off on it). Actually, it was Victor's idea, Nick's left to shake his head and sigh.
Why can't she just be happy for me? Sharon's left alone and frustrated. But not for long - finding Adam at the door, the lovers don't exchange any words as Adam grabs Sharon and starts kissing hungrily. Lock the door this time, Adam pauses to pant at his equally passionate partner.
Next: That little message we discussed? I think it's time we delivered it, Deacon says into his phone ... JT's seated at the club - maybe I'll never be able to completely trust Victoria again, he says to whomever's sitting across from him ... Arms folded, Heather warns Billy - if you refuse to reveal your informant ... Stop, Billy holds his hand out. Don't even think about charging me with a crime.
My Thoughts: The 'worst part' according to Vikki is that she can't 'dispute' the article? How about the worst part being that her son will now know that while he's being raised by his nanny, Mommy's off bed hopping? Yay - Vikki knows that WWW stands for 'world wide web' - but why would she think she's 'all over' it? Unless her ONS was with Tiger Woods, I doubt anyone outside GC gives a rats ass ... Yet Vikki's inflated ego knows no bounds - now she has an entire website devoted to her 'screw ups' (or just those she's 'screwed')? What a boring site that must be. Wonder if it's hosted by Geocities - and full of spyware pop ups n' stuff. And if SHE has her own website, wouldn't it stand to reason that others would too - surely a site devoted to the 'screw ups' of Victor or Jack would be far more entertaining (as would one devoted to Phyllis or even Sharon) .. 'I couldn't leave Reed for that long', Vikki rejects going to Dubai (um - when was the last time she saw the kid?) ... Sharon's Pasta Primavera's the best meal Adam's had in years? Doesn't say much for the Newman chef .... Billy's right - he didn't force Vikki to sleep with Deacon (and was Vikki really expecting her ONS to remain private?) They paraded around the very popular GCAC together - and it very well could have been Deacon who tattled. LOL@ Billy's indifference as Vikki huffed and puffed - but if he's gonna continue with these volatile expose's, he should really create a reception area - or at least prevent just anyone from marching in off the street. One day, the elevator door will lift open to reveal someone firing rounds with an AK-47. It's just a little too easy ...Duh Sharon - hasn't it occurred to her that Adam didn't 'get close' to her as the ultimate 'screw you' to Nick - maybe it's because she's just an easy screw? How exactly does Sharon figure her relationship with Adam is a 'whirlwind romance'? Is that code for 'I jumped into bed with the first man who offered, even if he IS my ex's brother'? So much for her stay in the psych. ward helping ... And isn't it great that Doris calls it like it is. Too bad she won't be around for long (as Sharon never thinks to rent a home that's wheelchair accessible) ... How would Billy know that Chloe forwarded a link to Chance's heroics to 'everyone' in her address book? Did she foolishly use CC instead of the BCC field (thereby making hundreds of private email addresses public?)That'll make the fashionista popular amongst her friends and associates. But why does Billy credit her email with everyone knowing of Chance's heroics - is he implying that no one would have read about it in the paper or online otherwise? ..... With this Riggs guy causing a lock down, I guess Daniel (who's usually in a private cell visiting with his wife, lawyer or Mommy) is get real close and personal with his fellow inmates right about now. Gives a whole new meaning to Lauren's comment that Daniel was left 'holding the bag' .... Good question Chance - how WOULD an inmate get your personal phone number? And if suffering from a tummy ache, why wouldn't they insist Riggs be treated by the jail's medical staff? Odd this news hasn't been announced in the media - that a violent criminal's escaped (guess they're all too busy covering the cheating heiress scandal). And how DID Riggs escape - 'lightening fast'? He's in shackles! .... If Mike's so busy, why not work at his office? So folks can come to meet HIM - as opposed to him driving all over town? ... NOW Lauren thinks it time she and Ryder have a 'serious' talk? Hasn't everyone done nothing BUt try to have serious talks with Ryder? I certainly haven't seen them engage in any light hearted talks. And why would Ryder tell her 'he's not supposed to leave the counter'? He's always leaving the counter ... Strange that Victor would OK Adam's promotion to full partner, alongside Nick - without so much as discussing it with Nick. You'd think Victor would have concerns about brothers who despise one another working together at the helm of his company .... Why is Lauren's boutique closing for the day so early? During the Christmas season no less? No wonder she has to roll racks of dresses everywhere ... Why would Billy say Chloe seemed surprised to find she and Chance weren't alone? Ester's obviously there ... Perhaps the most shocking revelation today was that GC has another lawyer - some Bruce guy. I don't see how Adam can file an assault 'suit' against Nick - when Nick was never even 'charged' with assault. Judge Judy would ask for the police report (then bark at Adam for not having even bothered to call the police). With no witnesses to the altercation - and no statement given to the police, there's no evidence to refute that Adam, the blind guy, merely stumbled over something (which he's been seeing doing on a daily basis). As a convicted felon (who forged a diary in a bid to frame his father), you'd also think that a brilliant attorney (such as Mike) should have NO problem convincing a judge or jury that the bitter Adam's just framing another family member... Always makes me chuckle when folks have to leave the coffee house to 'get a better signal' on their phones. CL's has broadband internet - but shoddy phone signals? .. Nice that Adam thought of locking the door - but too bad neither he nor Sharon actually DID ... Chance doesn't Do 'numbers', Chloe boasts to Billy - though I'm sure there's one number she wishes he'd do with her (hint: it's the higher than 68 and lower than 70).
