Today's Spoiler

At CL's, Chloe briefly considers a new career in nursing - but no - the shoes won't work. When Sergeant Biggs happens by, Chance wonders about Riggs - the guy who stabbed him - then escaped in a bright orange jumpsuit. Biggs is far too busy to take Chance's statement (regarding Riggs' call to him) - gotta run.

At the tackhouse, Phyllis flashes back to her 'I hate Sharon - Adam - and Nick' rant. Get back in bed, Nick planned to surprise her with breakfast in bed. With Summer at the Baldwin's, they have the whole place to themselves. Sex won't solve this problem, Phyllis points out - knowing that  Nick's still upset about Sharon marrying Adam.

Adam carries his giggling bride across the threshold (to her home) - welcome home Mrs Newman (not the first time she's gone by this name). Noah races downstairs to give his Mom a hug - I'm so glad you're OK.

As Dr P's about to leave Jack a note, he arrives to wonder what's going on. Paul leaves for the hospital - Dr P assuring she'll be right behind him. P explains that Paul read the article - and now she's off to tell Patty. The second worse thing she can do. The first? Continue treating her. If she found out they're getting married it could cause another psychotic break. Will she feel betrayed? The transition could take some time (so P may have to postpone the wedding).

I'm fine, Patty stops stabbing the newspaper long enough to shout at whomever's questioning her through the door. I thought I saw a spider. Peeking through the window, she sees the coast is clear. Think - think Patty - what would Dr P say? Don't overreact - think of a plan.

Back at CL's, Chance isn't creeped out being at CL's - he's just disappointed that no one seems interested in arresting Riggs. Conveniently, he sees the EMT on duty the night Riggs escaped - and goes to question him.

Yes - Dr P DOES feel guilty (for living Patty's dream - though it wasn't intentional). It happened quickly because it's right, Jack reassures. P's so sad for Patty. Yes - she IS a friend - they've crossed a line (so NOT treating her is the right thing to do). Neither wants to postpone the wedding - maybe the transition to the new doctor will go smoothly. It's not Paul's fault - nor Jack's - who can blame him for falling in love with the irresistible Emily? ~kiss~ Exiting, Dr P will call when she's finished.  Jack then makes a call - can you meet me? I have a proposition for you.

Still in  her robe, Phyllis laughs at the notion that she can be distracted with sex and bacon - and knows that 'last night' was Nick's way of letting her know (convincingly) that he still wants her. But how can she get him to understand how intolerable this situation is for her? (an afterthought while her husband chases after Sharon). She shouldn't have slapped Nick - sorry about that - but let's talk about his jealousy. Nick's not jealous - he's pissed off.

See - I'm fine, Sharon assures Noah. I'm glad you're OK too, he turns to Adam (who then leaves to visit Ashley - leaving mother and son to 'catch up'.  Now alone, Noah assumes the experience brought Sharon and Adam closer (and is happy to hear Adam took good care of her). Sharon needs Noah to continue 'being cool' about the relationship - because Adam proposed on Christmas Eve. Wow - you said no, Noah assumes. Actually, we eloped, Sharon admits.

At the ranch, Ashley greets Adam with a hug - it's so good to have him home safe. It was pretty crazy, Adam flashes back to showing Sharon the note - then her in the hospital bed, trying to remember. I thought I lost everything, he understates. Ashley now wonders what his good news is - then gasps at the sight of his wedding ring. Congratulations, she offers another hug (as Adam's over the shoulder expression reads 'guilt').

Nope - Sharon's NOT joking. Noah slumps onto the sofa - how long COULD she have thought the proposal over? What happened to making it on her own? Was she lonely over the holidays? Sharon IS her own person - more so with Adam (who lets her make her own decisions). Yes - Dad knows - but the only opinion Sharon cares about is Noah's. Since Adam's moving in, Sharon requests compromise - patience - willingness of Noah. Cane he do that? Fine - but Noah's NOT happy about her getting married.

It happened so fast - the EMT worker tells Chance (on the patio) - talk to the guy handling the case - maybe HE has a theory. Thanking Brian, Chance is then approached by Heather. What great timing - he has a favour to ask.

Jack's call was to Chloe (who he's now joined at CL's). Now, about that proposal - he's sure she's busy at RS. What? Billy fired you? Of all the stupid moves. Yeah - Chloe knows.  Well - maybe that's Jack's gain. He needs a wedding planner (and hers was tasteful and elegant). Yes - it'd be Chloe's honour - congratulations - she'd be happy to meet with P - it's nice to see Jack smiling again.

In the hallway, P tells Paul that he was right to ask her to step down. Paul hopes she'll be happy with Jack (and declines coming in when she tells Patty). As he waits outside, P enters - it's me - Dr Peterson. Leaping off hr bunk, Patty pastes on her grin. Happy New Year ! ~hug~ (but over P's shoulder, the smile evaporates quickly).

Dr P admires the card Patty made her - to thank her for being such a good and loyal friend. I wouldn't be where I am if it weren't for you. When P hesitatingly suggests another doctor, Patty whimpers - please don't make me ~hug~

Nick rants - despite all Sharon's speeches - it's the same damn pattern. Good - Phyllis is glad he sees that. Nick then grumbles about Sharon's innapropriate choices (and dragging Noah into it - giving him a front row seat to her self destructing). And if they have Noah live with them, he'll think Sharon picked this loser over him. Can we talk about 'us'? Phyllis interrupts. We ARE, Nick insists - this is the problem. No - your fascination with Sharon's life (and choices) is the problem. Having spent the better part of last year following Sharon from one crisis to another - will Nick be there for Phyllis?  No - he's NOT there right now - he's talking about Sharon - AGAIN. Wanna rescue someone? Rescue me?!

Noah just can't accept Sharon marrying Adam (so quickly) - it's crazy. Oops - sorry.  He's just scared for his Mom (who insists she's happy - and isn't worried about Adam's 'vindictive' side).  But not to worry - Noah won't file for emancipation (or do anything drastic) - you have enough 'drastic' in you for all of us.

Back at the ranch, Adam updates Ashley on Nick's  'chest beating' reaction to the marriage - but Sharon told him to 'stuff it' (a beautiful thing). She can really hold her own, Ashley smiles (and is pleased to realize he's 'head over heels'). No - Ashley doesn't feel it happened too fast - he's right to grab hold and not let go. She's then so dismayed at the thought of Adam moving out that she suggests Sharon move in there.

On the CL's patio, Chance admits he's not really working with Syd on the case (which, quite honestly, doesn't seem to be high priority to him). Heather suggests Chance talk to him - or Internal Affairs. She can't put her office in the middle - sorry. Chance then rejoins Chloe (who announces she's employed - as Jack's wedding planner). But she's not impressed that no one seems to care that the guy who tried to kill him is on the loose.

Dr P talks to Patty about change being scary sometimes, but necessary for growth - give Dr Jasper a chance - he'll come once or twice a week (then become Patty's primary doctor). Dr P will continue to see Patty until mid February. When Paul arrives, Patty clings to him, sobbing. He thinks a new doctor will be just fine (and when Patty agrees to give it a try - mouths 'thank you' over Patty's shoulder).

Ashley offers Adam and Sharon an entire wing - and Abby would love to have Noah back at the ranch. Adam will discuss it with Sharon - see what she says. Maybe that's her, Ashley goes to answer the door. Oh - it's Jack - who'll wait til Adam leaves to tell Ashley his good news. Leaving now? What a shame. After Adam exits, Jack announces he and P are getting married on Valentine's Day - though she may think him rushing things. Comperatively speaking, Ash thinks it a long engagement. Compared to who? Adam and Sharon - they eloped (Jack looks like he's smacked).

What does Phyllis need to do to get Nick's attention? Tie herself to railroad tracks? But no - she could never be desperate and needy (like Sharon). That's the irony. I'm a fighter - strong, Phyllis starts to cry - I can hand;e everything? I don't need a savior - I need a husband - a partner. She's tough - but not Super Woman. She can't do 'this' anymore. With Phyllis now openly crying, Nick pulls her into a hug - I'm so sorry I didn't realize. No - because he's so preoccupied. Nick's left to look guilty as Phyllis goes to check on Summer.

Syd marches back into CL's to confront Chance - you got a problem with me? I hear you're asking questions about the Riggs case - implying I'm not doing my job. Chance may have gotten away with that in the service (but rumours about fellow officers aren't appreciated here). As Chance barely gets a word of denial in, Syd warns that he better not hear of this again (then marches back out). Well, that guy's a jerk, Chloe concludes. Syd's not like that - Chance doesn't know who talked to him. And as they leave, a guy watching them gets on his phone.

Why didn't you tell me? Noah comes to ask his Dad (about his new stepDad). Mom wanted to be the one to tell you. What's Noah to do? Sit back and watch the train wreck. No - he's to focus on his life - school - sports. And if things get tense there, he's always welcome at the tackhouse.  Nick also appreciates him looking out for Phyllis (who Noah admires with keeping calm under pressure). She's had lots of practice, Noah overhears Nick respond.

Jack's heartbroken over Sharon 'doing this to herself' - she's gotta know he's using her. He's not, Ashley's seen Adam's face light up when he talks about Sharon. In fact, Jack and Adam have a lot in common. What!? He's a snake. Jack storms out to 'put a stop to this'.

Returning to the mausoleum, Chloe wonders if Syd's in on some plot to get Riggs back on the street. Chance then gets a strange text message (from Riggs) - in serious danger - need help - come alone (to where the tree lot was). That man almost killed you! Chloe hopes he's not thinking of going.

Ashley gets a visit from Dr P. She'd be honoured to be her matron of honour (it'll give her a reason to look forward to Valentine's Day this year). P then explains that the wedding date depends on how well Patty deals with being treated by a new doctor. Meanwhile, Patty obediently takes her meds - but once alone, brings the pills back up and hides them behind her mattress

After Noah leaves, Phyllis agrees it's difficult to see what Sharon's doing to him. No more Sharon - Nick's attention is now on Phyllis (who's strength he's taken for granted) - it's about time she depended on HIM ~kiss~ Missed you. Missed you too ~kiss~

On the patio, Adam helps Heather pick up the files she's dropped. What's that on his hand? A wedding ring - he married Sharon. Meanwhile, she too is admiring her wedding ring. Jack comes calling - PLEASE tell me it's not true.

Next: I'm sorry you couldn't get past what happened with us, Adam says. Heather rants angrily - maybe you two deserve each other - the klepto and the liar .... Phone in hand, Murphy tells Paul - Katherine needs to know about this - she and Jill have no idea what they're walking into .. Jill stands with Kay outside a sign that reads 'Jo Jo's - bail bonds - bounty hunter - open 24 hours' - We don't have to go through with this. Nonsense, Kay scoffs - we've come this far.

My Thoughts: I wouldn't be 'where I am ' without you, Patty slobbers gratitude all over Dr P (yeah - that's great - but you're in a padded cell. Thanks a lot Dr P) .... If the wedding date's in question anyway, why couldn't Dr P wait a few more weeks so that her 'best friend' could recuperate from her C-section (and perform the duty of Matron of honour) - why must this role always be filled by a virtual stranger? - and who will Jack have stand up for him? One of his former stepsons? Noah or Nick? Wouldn't it be nice if Jack's REAL son, Keemo stood up for him? Cause 'family' is oh so important to the Abbott's  .... P doesn't know if Patty's capable of 'the kind of happiness' she shares with Jack? Come ON - haven't you seen her? She's deliriously happy over paper cut outs and truffles ... Gossip really DOES travel quickly within the GC police department - Syd was aware of Chance's questioning all while he and Chloe were having sandwiches for lunch. It's a bit hypocritical of Heather to engage in gossip (how would she like it if her affair with a gay felon was bandied around the water cooler?) What are the odds that the EMT on duty the night Riggs escaped would saunter into CL's? And that Chance would recognize him?   .. Being in the magazine business (and a general busybody) how is it that Chloe missed the article that her former brother in law, Jack, is getting married? Doesn't she bother to read the RS website? (where Billy also announced the news) - and why would Jack need a wedding planner? (having said 'I do' several times)   .... What makes Chance think all nurses wear smocks with balloons and bunnies?  ... Why is Nick preparing breakfast in the middle of the livingroom? And how LONG did he cook that petrified strip of bacon? ... Why is Sharon now Mrs Adam Newman? Doesn't Adam go by the name Wilson?  .... Patty? You OK? the medic politely taps on her door (though you'd think when hearing screaming coming from a padded cell, he might bust through the door with some urgency - perhaps Patty was running with her kiddie scissors) .... Huh? What did Phyllis say? Sex doesn't solve all problems? What about video games? ....  Phyllis needs to make up her mind - she wants Nick to talk about his jealousies (yet when Nick WAS honest about his feelings for Sharon, he got slapped across the face). Phyllis knows 'last night' was his way of letting Phyllis know he needs and wants her? Couldn't it just be Nick's way of saying 'I'm horny'?  ....Who's Nick to be commenting on Sharon repeating a 'pattern'? Hasn't HE been repeating a pattern too? (the one in which he bounces back and forth between Sharon and Phyllis - promising to commit to each)? ...  She likes 'brothers in law' Phyllis quips (about Sharon) - but let's not forget that Sharon also was overly fond of her father in law (who she once kissed)  ...  Geesh Chloe - did you not hear Chance say 'don't eat my chips'? (cause it's his favourite part). S'OK tho - cause she can now afford to buy chips (cause if she didn't have the job as Jack's wedding planner she couldn't possibly afford to buy em - even though she just admitted she's bought Delia more clothes than she can possibly ever need) .... Heather tells Chance that Riggs left nothing behind but a few magazines - hmm - wonder what kind of magazine a convict might read .... Poor Ashley - the ranch is sooo empty (with Abby gone all the time - even though she should be grounded). But what did Ashley expect? (when she's evicting everyone; Victor, Estella?) If she wants company, stop kicking everyone out. Why is she using Abby missing Noah (as a selling point for Sharon) - didn't she just say Abby's never around?   ... Why would Jack need to wait until Adam leaves to tell Ashley his big news? Wasn't it already announced in the newspapers? Isn't that his latest beef with Billy? ... You have enough 'drastic' in you for all of us, Noah tells him Mom (and by 'drastic', he really means 'penis') ...
