Who else but Jill would Kay invite along on the private jet - on it's way to meet her long lost daughter Joanne? Oh what an incredible gift. Jill's honoured - and wonders what she'll be like (and how Kay will handle the meeting). Kay hopes a good family adopted Joanne - and once dreamt that she was married with four kids. God, let's hope she's had a good life.
Paul joins Murphy and Nina at CL's to say he's discovered some things about Joanne Glover that Kay should know (before she meets her). Too late, Nina updates Kay and Jill have already left for South Dakota. Uh oh - she could be trouble, Paul worries.
You married Sharon!? THAT'S who you've been dating!?, Heather sneers at Adam - guess she's more desperate than I thought. Meanwhile, Jack pleads with Sharon - tell me you didn't marry Adam. Sharon doesn't want to hear it - she married a man who doesn't think she needs rescuing. Promising to behave, Jack wants to hear details of the elopement.
At the mausoleum, Chance rereads the text from Riggs. Chloe can't believe he's actually going to meet the guy who almost killed him - without even taking back up. Chance doesn't trust anyone - but assures he'll be just fine - don't you worry - see you guys soon. Chloe's left to fret to Delia - this isn't good. Chloe wastes no time asking Mac to babysit - and runs out. Arriving soon after, Billy pauses at the sight of Delia in Mac's arms - Chloe must have forgotten he was picking her up. Cradling his daughter, Billy talks of doing research online - separation anxiety is normal at this stage of development (while Mac softens at the sight of Billy playing the role of the perfect Daddy).
Now seated on Sharon's sofa, Jack hears the details of the beautiful and romantic winter wonderland Adam set up - and when given his mother's ring, Sharon could almost feel Hope's presence - blessing the marriage. Say something, Sharon prods - like what? Congratulations maybe? Jack would rather ask about Noah (who Sharon's sure will soon love Adam too). Unable to contain his frustration any longer, Jack wishes she'd talked to someone - got a second opinion - before taking off to Tahoe. But after the year she's had, Jack can't blame her for grabbing onto a life line. Sharon didn't marry Adam because she's unstable - she's solid (thanks to Adam's support). You don't know this opportunist! Jack barks - feeling Adam's getting revenge on HIM.
Still on the CL's patio, Heather rants - wait til Sharon finds out you're a pathological liar! When prosecuting Sharon, she was actually pulling for her - hoping the 30 days in the psych ward would help her. But maybe they deserve one another - the klepto and the liar - a perfect match! Heather marches out.
Flashlight in one hand, gun in the other, Chance creeps around the darkened area (recently the tree lot). Riggs? I'm here, Detective Chancellor. You gotta help me - get me outta here before they come back. Chance's flashlight beam fixes upon a young man crouched down in hiding - who did this to you? Beaten and bloodied - Riggs shivers, looking terrified.
After setting Delia down in her playpen, Billy talks of doing soul searching. Do you even remember last night? Cane had to cut you off, Mac reminds (recalling the night Raul found him - and saved his life). She can cut him off - ban him from the bar - but she can't stop him from ruining his life with drinking. As Billy plucks up the fussy Delia, Mac suggests she's teething - be right back.
Now on Jubilee St, Jill wonders if this is Joanne's home address - sure doesn't seem residential. Here it is - 26. 'Jo Jo's Bail Bonds - open 24 hours. Ahhh - we don't have to go through with this. Kay insists they do - having come this far - don't be silly. When there's no answer to Kay's knock, Jill's relieved - let's go. A vehicle then screeches to a halt - a woman's hard voice berates the 'weasel' she's been chasing for two days. At gunpoint, she marches the bail jumper past Kay and Jill - shoving him through the door to her office. Excuse me, Kay begins. With a quick up and down sweep, Joanne scoffs at 'Granny' - there's an 'Eye-talian' joint down the street - got a slammin' early bird special. And as she slams the door behind her, Kay and Jill exchange a stunned 'what now' expression.
Now outside the large window, Kay listens as Joanne continues to bully her catch - shouldn't we find out if this is Joanne? Jill thinks not - she has a gun. Yes, she and Paul went to the trouble and expense - but clearly, it was a mistake. But wait - if Kay was a bounty hunter, she'd be just as successful - tough and tenacious - let's give 'Jo Jo' the benefit of the doubt. OK, Kay won't say she's her mother (but refuses to hand her jewelry over to Jill for safekeeping). Here we go, Kay edges towards the door - as Jill mutters 'this is crazy'.
Mac takes Delia's temperature - she's not licensed of anything (but diagnosed kids in Darfur all the time). Delia's teething. No need to call a doctor unless the rash or fever gets worse. Billy's relieved that Mac was there to handle it - he'd have taken Delia straight to the hospital.
Hands on her hips, Sharon's aghast - you think Adam's getting revenge on YOU? He couldn't love me? What an ego. And who's Jack to talk about lying - didn't he lie about owning Jabot - talked John into changing his will - lied about being a sex addict. Jack then has the nerve to bring up the forged diary (which gets pretty well the same reaction). I just gave him a little nudge, Jack insists. He lashed out - he's not the same person. We've faced out demons - and changed. Jack's the one who hasn't changed. jack continues his rant - Adam's in over his head (trying to roll with the 'big boys') - he's an unsophisticated, nasty kid who's father didn't give a damn about him! Having heard enough, Sharon shuts Jack up with a slap across the face.
Who did this to you? Chance asks. Riggs shivers - so cold. Chance puts his jacket around him (still asking questions). Headlights and music suddenly appear. Who's in the car? Chance shields his eyes and squints into the bright light. Riggs doesn't know. And as Chance stands to call for back up, a blow from behind sends him to the ground - unconscious.
I warned you not to talk about my husband like that - why can't you be happy for me - I thought you were my friend! Sharon shouts. I am - friends tell the truth, Jack bellows. Hi sweetheart - glad you're home - Jack was just leaving, Sharon greets Adam (who gathers he didn't take the news very well). In Parting, Jack warns that he won't take his eyes off Adam - and will be there when he slips up. Good luck Sharon - you'll need it with this one. (Sharon has the good sense to look worried).
Chance? Chance? Your car's here - where ARE you? Chance? You OK? Chloe kneels at his side. Where's Riggs? Chance gets up to say - gimme my radio. Still groaning in pain, he calls in a Code 30 - officer needing assistance (he gives the location). Helped up, Chance then scolds Chloe for coming - it's his job to take risks. Not foolish ones, Chloe still feels he shoulda called for back up.
Back at CL's, Nina wonders why Joanne wasn't adopted - oh - juvenile hall. Paul says the record's sealed - but look at the rap sheet - assault - theft - weapons. Also reading papers, Murphy notices a ten year gap. Yeah - she was in prison in Dublin, California (trafficking in stolen goods - involved in a motorcycle gang). Phone in hand, Murphy thinks Kay and Jill should know what they're walking into.
Jill and Kay enter Jo Jo's office (who's on the phone with someone who better pay up - or a certain video may find it's way to the web). Hanging up with 'Mr Mayor', Jo Jo faces the ladies (whom she now assumes are customers). Kay's looking for Joanne Glover. The last person who used that name was a Judge who sent Jo Jo upstate. A bounty hunter? She prefers to be called a Fugitive Recovery Agent - the best in the business. Yes, her birthday's September 30th - now, who the hell do you think you are?! You're mother, Kay snarls back.
Chance is checked out by the medics, Heather and Syd arrive (what does he know about Riggs). He was beat up and freaked out. Heather doesn't understand why Riggs contacted him. Chance feels someone put him up to it. When Heather's summoned away, Syd chides Chance for not calling him. Well - it's not like Syd was making much headway with 'his' case. Chance refuses to go to the hospital (and is again scolded by Chance - if he'd have called for back up, Riggs would be in custody right now).
Billy promises Delia that he'll be around more. She feels cooler. Her temperature broke, Mac announces - of course she doesn't mind if Billy spends time with her there. She then sits beside Billy (as he reads a story to Delia).
She's telling the truth, Jill assures Jo Jo. Kay explains that her child grew up with the Sister's Of Charity. Jo Jo sits - no one can know that - this can't be real. This my sister? As close as any sister you could have, Kay hedges. Why now? Jo Jo wonders - is she on the 'bucket list'? No, no - Kay just wants to know her better. Her name? Katherine. Go back home 'Kathy' - I don't need you. You listen to ME, Kay wags a finger - she wants to fly Jo Jo to GC - put her up in her home. Jo Jo has a business to run. Consider it, please. Yes, the ring's real, Kay assures - want to try it on? Jo Jo admires her hand - looks good on me - when do we leave? (Jill rolls her eyes at Kay).
Adam massages Sharon's shoulders (as she whines about how tough it's been telling everyone). They then compare Jack and Nick (both think Adam's out for revenge on THEM). Why can't they just move on? Adam can't blame them - Sharon's an incredible woman. Plus, he HAS made some bad decision since coming to GC. But, if Victor can forgive him for the diary, Jack and Nick will come around too - whatever it takes.
At CL's, Paul confronts Jack - how could he date Patty's therapist - Dr P's the only person she trusts (besides him). What if she finds out? She won't, Jack interrupts with confidence - we'll make sure of that. This whole thing is wrong, Paul concludes.
Chance knows Chloe's right - he shoulda called for back up - but who can he trust? And when he asks to help with the crime scene, Syd shrugs him off. And where's Chance's jacket? Heather has an officer bring it over - in a bag. Yes - Chance is sure it's his jacket (but knows nothing about the drugs in the pockets). They were planted. Syd and heather think it looks like a drug deal gone bad. Too bad Chance didn't call Syd, he'd have a witness. Now, he's gotta play this one by the book. He doesn't wanna do this - then much to Chloe's horror, calls Internal Affairs.
Billy and Mac watch Delia sleep in the play pen - aww, so cute. Mac overheard Billy talking about 'showing up'. Yup - he's gonna be a better Dad. He had a revelation - even if it was from the bottom of a bottle. He thinks what she's doing for Lily is selfless; a huge gift. Mac has THE biggest heart. He's sorry he gave her a hard time - Lily will be a great Mom. It's an incredible gift. Billy was only feeling sorry for himself. I support you. Wow - what happened to you? Mac has to ask. Billy wanted to be a better person for her - and Delia - but now, wants to change for himself. Mac likes Billy 2010.
Sharon loves that Adam wants to try and fix things - but Jack never will - he's the liar - and Adam's accomplished what Jack couldn't (you turned it all around). Sharon feels they're 'doing it right' - the rest of em are wrong.
Back at CL's, Jack claims he wants Patty to recover - other therapists can accomplish that. You don't think it strange that you're in love with a woman with Patty's face? Paul's then reminded that it's Patty who has EMILY'S face. Scoffing, Paul returns to Nina and Murphy (who's unable to reach Kay). If only Jill hadn't sprung this on Kay.
On the private jet, Jo Jo provides colourful commentary (as Jill and Kay try to hide their repulsion). Jo Jo down a few shots of the free booze- why, she didn't even have to check her gun. Sure beats the hell outta flying coach - who do these ladies know so important? Drink anyone? No - Jo Jo takes the decanter to her seat - then notices the monogrammed napkins - wait a minute - this is YOUR plane? You're THAT Chancellor? And so are you, Kay points out. I'll be damned - Ma! Jo Jo all but sits on Kay's lap for hugs and kisses. I'm happy. So am I, Kay tries to smile (as Jill looks ill).
Next: You've gotta let this go, Nina says. Someone is targeting me - I wanna know why, Chance insists (as Chloe looks on with worry) ... Malcolm announces to Neil (and Cane) that he's been offered a job - he's considering it - looks like I'm back ... Kay looks stressed as she rubs at her forehead. We actually thought I was her daughter, Jill informs Jo Jo (who cracks back - well I'm proof positive - ya ain't)
My Thoughts: So Billy's read online development to the chapter on anxiety development - but didn't notice any mention of a more common malady; teething? ... Mac had no certification - yet diagnosed kids in Darfur all the time? No wonder the death toll's so high. Maybe Olivia shoulda stuck with Doctors without Borders (instead of hanging around airports hoping to run into former husbands) ... Ahhh - Jo Jo. Yes - comic relief is always appreciated (by me anyway) - but I'm not sure how much they'll get from such a one dimensional character. We get it - she's a little rough around the edges. That said, I can't wait for Nikki to meet her *snicker* ... Well don't I feel silly - carrying on yesterday about the Chancellor's not having a private jet - when clearly they do - just not one Phillip's allowed to use (and why didn't Murphy get to take a spin on the private jet?) .... Why on earth would Kay wish four kids on her daughter. Happy? I can say that, on account of me having four kids. We can only hope Jo Jo has no offspring ..... Good point Jack (that P had 'the face' first) - but I don't think that was really Paul's point, was it? ... I understand the cut backs and all - but if they're gonna have a fussy baby, can't they at least come up with a sound track of a baby crying? (maybe Billy can do it - he's pretty good a goofy sound effects) ... Would you want someone coming up to you and saying 'I'm the mother who gave you away'? Kay asks of Jill (who still isn't sure who her mother is) .... Tell me about your elopement, Jack promises to behave (to which Sharon shoulda tested his 'I'll behave' - by going into graphic detail of the marriage consummation). Instead of describing the scene to Jack, maybe Sharon should have taken a picture (since it was so amazing). Yeah Sharon - I'm sure Hope would approve of Adam marrying a promiscuous kleptomaniac (who's already been married twice before).. Sharon feels lucky that she and Adam 'found' one another? She sure didn't have to look hard, did she? (since he's her ex's brother) ... Funny to yet again hear Jack talk about Adam's lying (like Sharon argued - HE takes the cake when it comes to lying to one's spouse) ... Yikes - Chance Chancellor on drugs? Surely a simple drug test (using hair) would put this theory to rest ... Why is Heather showing up at crime scenes? She's a lawyer, not a cop .... Billy's glad he 'ran into' Mac? Yeah - funny how that happens when you show up where she LIVES.
