Chloe and Chance find Billy (with Delia) at CL's. As Chance goes to order, Billy needs to speak to Chloe one on one - there's some things she needs to hear.
Cardboard box in hand, Adam approaches Victor in NE's hallway - so hands over his letter of resignation (hoping a bad referral won't keep him from getting another job). You've making a mistake, Victor warns. Marching out, Adam claims his only mistake was thinking he could get on Victor's good side (but he doesn't HAVE one).
At the ranch, Noah's glued to his laptop - hoping to hear from Eden (which he finally does). Have fun, he sends Sharon off to meet Adam at the club - then reads a glowing email. Seems Eden's having a great time - her Aunt's awesome (but it's weird that she insists she didn't look HER up) - don't say anything to the Baldwin's. Love Eden, Noah smiles - but it IS weird - who would want to send Eden away.
At the Baldwin condo, Lauren's got yet another headache. You must really miss Eden, Daisy comments. Yes - Lauren does miss having a teenager around. Daisy would take this place over the dorms any day. Lauren has an idea that will solve both their problems.
Tucker's at home when Adam Wilson comes to introduce himself - as Victor's son. He thinks they should talk.
Lauren suggests Daisy take over Eden's room while she's away - of course she's serious. Mike will be all over it, Lauren's positive - and will go clean out her new room. There's no reason for Daisy to 'almost' feel guilty for saying 'yes'.
Take out order in hand, Chance isn't pleased to hear Billy needs to speak to Chloe. Just two friends catching up, Billy assures. OK - Chance will take Delia home, then come back for Chloe. After Chance wheels Delia out, Chloe sits - is he great or what? Mentioning the wedding she's planning, Billy has pictured Delia's big day - he really wants to be there. After his epiphany New Year's Eve, Billy's made amends with everyone - except Chloe (the one he owes the biggest apology of all to).
Unable to track down Adam at NE, Sharon goes to Victor. He quit?! What happened? Victor doesn't want his son's using the office as a competition 'playground' - Adam didn't like that. Sharon's sorry - but maybe it's for the best - the animosity between Nick and Adam is hurting Noah. Victor's likes her positive spin - but assumes Adam will come crawling back. Sharon asks a favour - find a way to have a personal relationship with Adam. He's family, Victor will always forgive him - hopefully he won't take advantage of that.
Though his vision's limited, Adam can appreciate Tucker's great place. He was only recently exposed to this kind of wealth (having been raised on a Kansas farm). Tucker also found a parent 'a little late in the game'. Adam heard all about it - and that he has a chip on his shoulder. He can't blame Tucker (Victor did the same thing Kay did). Growing up wondering why his father didn't want him, Adam's done being disrespected by him. He's exploring other options - like working for Tucker.
Getting Mike's voicemail, Lauren shouts into the phone - then grips her aching head. What's wrong with me? she tears up - then hobbles over to the alcohol. I didn't know you drank, Daisy comes in. I don't, Lauren admits - and as Daisy goes to put her things away, quickly pours the booze down the sink.
Back home, Sharon tells Noah that she and Adam must have gotten their signals crossed. She then sees he's looking up the Paris school - why? No - Noah can't transfer because he misses his girlfriend. Noah has other reasons - he needs a break from all the drama - NOW.
Adam lists his credentials - and the great work he's done at NE - including a deal that made billions. Having heard of the deal, Tucker knows Adam's contribution to NE have been impressive (and he DOES have a lot to bring to the table). Even so, Tucker can't help being suspicious. It's no secret that Victor's unhappy about his acquisition of CI - and now his son shows up on his doorstep looking for a job. Adam thought this might come up - so hands over a flash drive - containing all NE's potential acquisitions - top of the list is Castle Properties. Tucker seems impressed - plus, they had similar upbringings. Also - personal drive equals a loyal employee. Tucker's not sure what positions he has available - but welcome to McCall Unlimited. You won't be sorry, Adam shakes Tucker's hand.
Noah whines about his unstable parents - one minute buying a house together - the next, not even talking to each other. Plus, Brad and Colleen's death - and Sharon losing the baby. With Eden gone, he's left to deal with it alone - as well as the kids gossiping about how Grandpa got his heart - Aunt Vikki's affair with a guy who's now in jail. Sharon wants to help? Then let Noah go to Paris. Sharon IS happy with Adam - if it's OK with Dad, it's OK with her. Thrilled, Noah gives his Mom a hug.
Over coffee at CL's, Billy admits he was less than decent - OK, he was an ass. Chance was right - he never treated Chloe like a person with real feelings. All she ever did was love him - and she paid for it. He just didn't want to be tied down. Ironic - cause after Delia was born were some of the best times of his life. He's not trying to reconcile - he's happy that she's happy with Chance. He'll always be grateful for Delia - the amazing gift that proves he's not a total screw up. Yup - it was some wake up call - Billy doesn't want to lose his little girl. Chloe (and everyone else) has noticed improvement in Billy. For Delia's sake, Chloe hopes the new Billy sticks around. Billy has one more thing - no, it's NOT a catch - it's a request - come back to work at RS. Chloe laughs - you're kidding, right? No - sales are down without Chloe. Adam marches over - I heard you were doing an expose on me - an idea you'd be wise to scrap. Billy chuckles - you're not that interesting. After Chloe agrees to come back to work - Adam scowls from the counter as they high five.
How the hell are you? Victor greets Tucker as he enters the club - but declines having a drink together. Tucker wastes no time mentioning that NE is interested in Castle Properties. Where did he hear that? Through the grapevine. Oh - and Tucker forgot to thank Victor - for enabling to hire his new star - your son Adam. Let's hope he's a chip off the old block. Good luck - enjoy your drink, Victor remains unruffled.
Chance returns as Billy leaves. See you tomorrow? he's then told that Chloe's back at RS. Yes, Chance does have an opinion - but she won't wanna hear it. Does she not remember how badly Billy treated her? Chloe can take care of herself - with Billy - or anyone else. Chloe suspects it's not about her going back to RS - but about her going back to Billy.
Sharon thinks Noah should tell Eden before going off to tell all his friends. No - Noah will call her when he's on his way. And with another 'thank you' hug, Noah races past Adam. Where have you been? You quit? Sharon questions. She heard Victor's version - now wants to hear Adam's. He accused me of being obsessed with competing with Nick (which included our marriage). So - Adam quit - before he exploded. Unpacking champagne and take out, Adam recalls his vow to take care of Sharon - and make her proud. And here's what happened next .... Tucker McCall? The man who stole CI from Kay?! Sharon balks. Adam doubts his new boss sees it that way. Yup - you're looking at the newest employee of Tucker McCall Unlimited.
Billy's on his cell phone as he arrives at RS - flipping lights on as he goes. I'll have to call you back, he scowls (as Victor gets off the elevator). Hello Billy, Victor's face is neither overly friendly nor menacing.
Lauren's still trying to shake her headache as Daisy announces she finished unpacking - not like she has a lot of stuff. Suggesting a movie night, Lauren's about to go buy snacks (when Daisy offers - it's the least she can do). Oh - but can Lauren clean out Eden's desk? And with another sickeningly sweet thank you, Daisy hugs Lauren (the closest she's had to a mother in a long time). Oh how sweet - Lauren's then left to tackle Eden's desk.
Sharon doesn't mean to second guess Adam - but has he thought this through? Katherine has a lot of friends in this town. It was a strategic business move, Adam reasons. Tucker being Kay's son (and hiding that fact) is none of his business. This is the biggest career move of Adam's life. One that will drive Victor crazy, Sharon adds - is THAT what this excitement is really is all about? Adam's grin implies she might be onto sumthin'.
Back at RS, Billy assumes Victor's there to 'take him out' - after hours - no witnesses. No - though Victor won't forget the smear campaign against his family. Billy has a magazine - and Victor has a story. Interested? Billy knows he could be making a deal with the devil. Interested? Victor repeats.
Still at CL's, Chance denies he's bugged over Chloe's history with Billy (who he knows she's over). He doesn't want to see her waste her talent on the unappreciative Billy. Chloe WOULD have told Billy to get lost - but is convinced he's trying to be a better person. And yes - she wants that frantic pace of life - it's her favourite part of the job. OK, Chance is 1000% behind her ~kiss~ and wouldn't even know how to stop acting 'concerned' (which Chloe finds 'adorable').
On the patio, Noah's talking to Eden on his cell phone - thrilled that he may soon be joining her in Paris (but agreeing it's weird that someone would send her Aunt a letter). He plans to do some investigating. Je t'aime, he hangs up. Hey Noah, Daisy arrives - and wastes no time bragging that she's taken over Eden's room - cool huh? Yeah, cool, Noah's unenthused - and is left to think (when Daisy heads inside - before Lauren's favourite cookies are all gone).
Lauren brings a box of Eden's stuff into the living room to sort - and soon comes across a few newspaper articles about her and Sheila's ordeal. What the?! Lauren's further distressed to find a receipt from Furry Friends Pet Store. The rat! Oh My God - Eden!
At the club's bar, Tucker considers the flash drive Adam gave him. I don't trust you Newman's for a second, he mutters. I'm down for the ride no matter where it leads, he taps it against his palm.
Adam admits he's enjoying sticking it to Victor just a little bit - but this is a huge business opportunity - imagine what I can learn from this guy. No - it won't endear him to the Newman clan - but was he ever really part of it? Sharon is his family now - Victor won't hurt him anymore.
Victor offers one candid interview - allowing Billy to ask anything he wants. The one condition? The story must pertain to his son Adam - and what a disloyal, pathological character he turned out to be. Amused, Billy takes it Victor and JR are getting along just fine. Interested? Victor asks for a third time. Billy is - but won't sell magazines if he can't quote a source. He's soon chuckling when Victor assures he WILL go into great detail - AND allow himself to be quoted verbatim.
Next: Ryder - you still at the boutique? Daisy's on the Baldwin's phone. Yeah - Ryder's taking off right now. I need you to leave something behind, Daisy requests ... At the club, Cane tells Kay and Neil that Tucker wants him to sit in on the Newman meeting. I wish we'd had more time to plan, Kay looks thoughtful ... Faith swaddled in her arms, Sharon walks into the ranch living room to face an angry looking Ashley and Adam. What were YOU doing out with the baby? Adam, frowning and arms folded, snaps coldly.
My Thoughts: How nice of good 'I'm there for you son - it's my job' Mommy - telling Noah there's leftover spaghetti in the fridge - as she goes to meet Adam for dinner at the club (known for it's 3 lb lobster and Gina's own world famous lasagna). Be sure to cover you're 'sgetti Noah - so it doesn't splatter all over the microwave ... Hmm - Lauren's headaches are coming and going - likely after drinking the tea Daisy's always thoughtfully making her. But yeah - a large glass of straight Scotch oughtta help. Why hasn't she made a doctor's appointment? ... How can a kid Delia's size possibly wear Billy out? Is she THAT heavy perched on his knee ... Adam doesn't want Victor to trash his name all over town - but didn't think twice about trashing Victor's worldwide (with the journal) - what kind of reference does he think an employee who quits without any notice would get? Giving away company a list of the company's acquisition interests might be frowned upon too ... Hard to believe the French class at Walnut Grove is 'way ahead' of Eden's class - in France (especially since Eden and Noah could barely speak it last time they were there) ... Of course Lauren doesn't have to check with Michael before inviting a strange teenager to move in - she IS the boss after all. And besides, he never answers his phone ... Lauren seems to really enjoy having her doors slammed - loud music - and kids she doesn't know raiding her fridge (not sure who they'd be - as Eden doesn't HAVE any friends) ... How exactly is Adam and Nick not getting along hurting poor Noah? And how does he feel Sharon losing a baby hurts HIM? Perhaps the kid's a little oversensitive. And never mind all this 'drama' he's a victim of - how about all the drama he creates? Underage sex - being arrested in Paris - falling through the ice and nearly dying - the fire ... How does Tucker figure Adam's drive and ambition would make him a loyal employee? Hasn't he just proved his DISloyalty by handing over a flash drive of confidential NE information? ... Coulda swore I heard Noah say he would call Eden 'on his way' - to surprise her - yet, he calls her from CL's to give away the surprise .... Victor whines about Billy smearing his family in the press - but doesn't think being quoted in an expose on Adam will bring bad press to NE and the Newman family? Odd ... Adam has been sitting on business ideas that will take GC business to 'the next level'? Marketing trends that will revolutionalize the way business is done in this town? Maybe if Adam presented these great ideas - instead of just sitting on them, he WOULD have been more respected at NE. Adam doesn't need a letter of reference - he speaks so highly of HIMSELF ... Daisy seems overly shocked to find out Lauren 'drinks'? Only having seen her have water, coffee - wine with dinner on occasion. Maybe she needs to mind her own business - plus, she's only known Lauren for 5 minutes.
